Lawrence O'Donnell "They don't even quite qualify for party status anymore when they're down in the low twenties...like nineteen percent of Americans saying I am a Republican".

And now here comes Sarah Palin crushing what's left of the GOP, that she helped damage with her disastrous campaign performance, under her red Naughty Monkey heel.

"Hoffman pledged his sacred honor to a Fox News host".

Just has "born leader" written all over him doesn't he?

This sort of thing almost makes me want to start voting Republican so that the wingnut conservatives will be shut out.

Unfortunately, my disdain for all of them on the right will not let me do it. Great sigh!

I wish someone would do a new survey and see how many people identify themselves as Democrats, Repubs, Indep. or Conservatives. That breakdown would give us a much better idea of future elections rather than the ones being held today.

FOX notnews "reported" that Dede endorsed Hoffman, and they kept it up for hours.

    Mistake?
Please, they lied just to help Hoffman.

Hey Gryphen, the quote from Lawrence O'Donnell should say "...they're down in the low twenties..."

And let me just say, in the spirit of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend":

    You go Dede!!

  8. One thing jumped out at me from the excerpt. Right before the debate her aide said something about being still with the Lord. Couldn't Kris whatshername have held Palin's hand? I always thought that comment by Palin about not having anyone to pray with was a manipulative below the belt attack. It wasn't true, and it was a way of passing judgement on those advisors who had worked so hard to prepare her. I think we don't often focus on one of Palin's trademark characterisitics--her self righteousness. When she juts out her chin and gets a certain expression on her face, you can tell she is feeling morally superior. When you think of all the things we now know about her, it's just amazing that she is so convinced of her superior righteousness.

Is it just me or is Hoffman not a ringer for "Where's Waldo"?

  10. I'm way down in NC, so I don't know a whole lot about the NY-23 thing, but that candidate Hoffman looks 3 beers short of a six pack!

I don't find Palin in the least bit funny. She's dangerous and capable of doing great damage and it's a mistake to underestimate what she's capable of by simply writing her off as a pathetic buffoon. She is ignorant, and revels in her ignorance. She is also stupid and that's a lethal combination. Because she's ignorant and stupid, she's uncomfortable around people who are not. To compensate, she gathers around her those who if not as devastatingly ignorant as she is, share her Lilliputian horizons and views on the world. Lacking all intellectual curiosity, she tries to belittle those who can actually think and complete sentences; and would have us believe that knowledge, experience and learning are things to be jeered at, not sought after. All this, plus an insatiable greed and the desire to pull everyone down to her own abysmal level, make her one of the most awful and polarising people on the scene today. The greater good for others or her country mean absolutely nothing to her unless she remains firmly stage center with her hand out. I don't know if John McCain was taking stupid pills when he picked her, but he has yet to apologise to the American people for the appalling Pandora's box he unleashed on them. He should be utterly ashamed.

I wish I could be as joyous as the rest of you all but I'm still very concerned. Looking at Hoffman, he doesn't appear at least to be the best of candidates. Yet he was a 3rd party candidate who was polling in single digits 3 weeks ago---then Palin and her cronies endorse him and he got 43% of the vote and came within a couple points of actually WINNING! That's way too close for comfort as far as I'm concerned. Afraid of what might have happened if they had more time.
