Even Joe the Plumber cannot bring himself to endorse Palin for 2012.

When asked about whether Palin should run for President in 2012, this was
Wurzelbacher's response:

"I hope she doesn't (run) because I think she could do a lot for America outside of office," Wurzelbacher said. "And I think she could rally Americans to get together and make some changes from the grassroots level. I think she could be an incredible rallying point, and I think that's where she could serve America best."

Translation: "Oh hell no! That woman is a menace! Have you seen how she treats that baby? Can you imagine if she treated our country with such carelessness? I would not even let her get her hands on my Plumber's snake, much less my country!"

(Disclamer: The opinions expressed on this blog may not EXACTLY represent the opinions of, fake plumber and political tool, Joe Wurzelbacher but again they just might!)

Update: Dennis just sent me this picture of Chuck Heath (Sarah's dad.)

I wonder how he feels about that shirt NOW?

You know you just can't make this stuff up.

I was at sarah' book signing last night. Her mother brought trig out in the stroller for everyone to take a picture of while Sarah was in signing. I did not like that fact that they paraded him out in public as a prop but I was relieved to see that at least his grandmother was with the bus and maybe will look out for him more than a hired staff.

I was at Columbus last night where Palin was signing books. The crowd was lined up around the strip mall. I was a lone elderly lady standing across from the crowd with a sign Which proclaimed "I am a Real American". My sign read: Palin- LIES to cover up; USES her children as props; BLAMES others and QUITS before done. Several of Palin's fans taunted me by calling out that I was an "old mush head who would not be lifted up in the Rapture". One lady kept passing by saying the big problem me was that I was leaving God out of the picture. One person was shouting about Revelation in the Bible and how it is revealed that Palin is sent by god to be the person to lead us in the end of days. One person drove by and called out to me "You are going to Hell". A group of high school students came and questioned the me. When they heard the taunts they went and bought material for a sign that said "We are the future of the Nation" and stood by me for most of the night. The crowd shouted out at them too, believing that they were some how against "their" Sarah and for Obama. The crowd warned the students that they would grow up to be just like me if they didn't get right with the Lord. I talked with the young people and they said that they were not informed enough to be for or against Palin or Obama but were there to learn and support free speech. The majority of the free speech they heard shouted at them were negative comments. I did not see one person of color in line but many people with darker skin drove by and gave a thumbs up to me. There was one person who acted Christian and brought cups of chocolate for the small group of us peaceful protesters at the end of the cold evening and two people came by to say that they did not agree with the sign but felt we had the right to free speech. A Politico reporter came to interview me and he said I was the first protester he had seen and he was at all the previous signings. WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Carol @ 8:20 a.m... You are an amazing person! I don't know about where the people are? But, you made me think. So, my thoughts are, that perhaps they don't want to make it a political event (as far as Obama supporters). Then there would be more reporters, and more Palin lies thrust into the news. She IS supposed to be a private citizen. I think those high school kids learned a lot from your bravery, and you brought out the kind hearts of those people who gave you all hot chocolate. You remind me of people like Rosa Parks. Love you.

    Joe the plumber? Who cares.

Yet more evidence from beyond America's borders that former anti-Palin voices are starting to look at Palin mort flatteringly:

It will make Obama fans perspire to hear this, but Ms. Palin has a more forceful bond with her supporters than he with his. Mr. Obama offers a kind of self-flattery to his worshippers. They feel exalted that they have the intelligence or sensibility to see how remarkable their man is. But he remains remote. Ms. Palin works close up. She offers those much invoked, but actually neglected figures, “the ordinary Joe or Josephine,” a real sense that she does represent them.... .

A truly dumb and witless person would not have the demure columnist David Brooks hissing dismissively, angrily in fact, on a Sunday morning talk show that Sarah Palin “is a joke.” Poor Mr. Brooks gets intellectual hives just thinking about her. Empty vessels do not inspire such venom and fury... .

Ms. Palin is a real and evolving element in the great story of American politics. She is the “other half” of the Obama moment, and she may be in the ascendant. Mr. Obama is losing his lustre, his appeal is dimming, at the very moment the Alaskan outsider is staking her claim. Those who call her a joke are expressing an anxious hope not offering a rational description.

Carol from MN, thanks for braving the weather and the taunts and standing up for free speech. I am sure that the students you referred to learned a lot from your brave action. Unfortunately, SP is coming nowhere near where I live (east coast non-America), but I really appreciate what you did.

Anonymous 9:03 a.m.: my first question would be is the Globe and Mail Murdoch paper or at least a conservative one?

I cannot imagine, remotely imagine, any person capable of objective, analytical thought believing for an instant that Palin is not an "empty vessel."

Check out more polls than the right-wing ones: Obama is still very popular. Some of the issues show a weakening, but I suspect that reflect more on the Democratic Congress than Obama though many of us would like him to be more forceful. We understand, however, that he is not going to stoop to the level of the Republican party or right-wingers who are forming their own party.

Again, please clarify the context of the Globe and Mail -- is it centrist and objective or conservative and who owns it?

THe people at the signing were making it a political event. Lots of them had cars with signs plastered all over them with negative and deragatory things about OBAMA. They all were chanting for Palin to run in 2012 and talking about what a palin presidency would do for thewm and the Christian cause. I did not indicate that I was for Obama simply that I was pointing out Sarah's faults. There were several people who were more sophisticated that came over to me and tried to elicit statements from me that they could then use against me. I felt like they were political operatives. I learned fast simply to say "god bless you" when they tried to get me to argue with them.

9:03 a.m. Anon- The Canadian opinion, is just an opinion that doesn't see the tangle of American politics. I remember how sad President Obama was when he took office that he would not be able to be with the citizens of our country anymore. Even his open communications with close friends were deterred. He had to fight to keep his Blackberry. He won, with caveats and limitations...therefore, the many White House events where he and the First Lady Michelle invite friends and the public. He is trying to keep contact- more than any other president. Remember he said that he could only do so much, the rest is up to us? Surely, we can all find the "leadership" within ourselves... like Carol in above post.

Just today, I went to buy (gag) the book. The cashier I spoke with so there is not much interest, and in fact, one girl working there had no idea what book I was wanting.

The clerk I paid for had a disussion with me..with both of us chucklng. Yes..the book is being purchased...but the purchasers are at least being honest. They want to read the lies and the downright vindictiveness for themselves. Canadians are smart enough to realize she is to be feared on some level, but she cannotandwill not ever be able to do any damage to us.

Huge book sales do not mean she is loved. Many are curious, and I believe that once folks read it and see who she is..its lldown hill indeed.

I don't give a damn what the Globe and Mail says...and I am Canadian. Grow up and throw your support behind someone who has at least one more brain cell than a centipede.

To those who were so knd to me regarding my husband..thankyou. He is doing will and I feel like a million pounds has lifted.
    again. I love you all.

Kudos to you, Miss Carol! You are indeed a brave soul and I hope that many of us can follow your lead. You handled the situation just right.

Palin is supposed to be coming to Albuquerque after Thanksgiving, and I am hoping to drive down from Santa Fe with others to make a peaceful display - as Carol did - across from where she is "signing books".

Though, if it's this tough on her, she might just cancel the rest of her tour.

Again, Carol, thanks for your leadership.

Oh, and that column from the Toronto paper is just that, a column. NOT an editorial. You'd see the same thing in the WaPo or NYT or Chicago Tribune from an individual columnist. And, the same lame letters from Palin supporters.

Well, maybe there will be a bus for Santa Fe-area demonstrators.

For once, I agree with Joe the "not so much a" Plumber. He said, "I think she could do a lot for America outside of office." Amen, brother.

In fact, I think that she could do a lot for America outside of the country. If she can fight for Alaskans more out of state government and out of the state, why shouldn't the same logic apply to being more effective fighting for America from outside of America.

By the same token, couldn't she better advocate for the planet if she were off the planet? I hear that Nasa wants to go to the Moon then Mars. I say make Palin a candidate. Then she can put "Advocacy in Abstentia" Planetary Tour in motion.

Thanks for the great idea, Joe.

No trig did not have his glasses on nor could I see his hearing aid at the Columbus showing of him. Everyone was ooing and ahing at him and taking pictures of him. One of the people told me they believe that Sarah will become president and will champion the handicapped. She told me I was lying when I told her that Sarah had shown little or no interest in helping the handicaped in Alaska.

  28. Gasman--(chuckle) great idea! I think you're on to something there-- perhaps C4P might like to take up a collection for Sarah to go Galaxy Hopping.

Carol from Minnesota - You are a wonderful and inspiring person-- thanks so much for sharing your experience with us.

Anon @ 9:20 Is that you BK? I have a feeling that you shared this article with us for two reasons. First, your un-reformed Eliza Dolittle gets some love from the columnist (Murphy?)-- but, even more happy-making for you, your more successful competitor at the NYT was insulted. You didn't get to keep your gig at the NYT, but Brooks is still quite their darling-- he even gets to be on TV more often than you are. Oh dear ..tsk tsk..

Ahem...She is in Roanoak tomorrow? Isn't tomorrow Sunday? Isn't book signing considered "work?" Is that allowed?

Mmmmmm, does she think the far, far right edge of Sarah World is going to like that? Guess we'll have to wait and see--11:00 until 2:00--that would be after church, but don't they have to be in line--like, already?

Maybe their preachers are giving out hall passes. But, if they're not, these folks better hope that the TV cameras don't catch them playing hooky from Sunday School.
