- Sarah Palin
"Hope to see you there?" How is she going to do that when the book signing is CLOSED to the public?
Why say on your Facebook page that you are looking forward to seeing Alaskans and then refuse to allow them to attend? Is your Facebook supposed to be for military eyes only? What possible excuse could you have for keeping the people who actually elected you to office from saying "welcome home", and getting the same opportunity for an autographed copy of your book that people in Florida were given? No really what is your excuse?
The Alaska events were last-minute additions to Palin's published tour schedule. Asked why no signings open to the general public were scheduled in Alaska, Palin publicist Tina Andreadis of HarperCollins Publishers responded by e-mail that "The Governor is humbled by this opportunity to honor the nation's military stationed in AK, especially during the Holidays."
WTF? Is that an answer?
Do you know what I think the answer is? Palin is afraid that we will not be fooled by her anymore. She realizes that Alaskans know that she is just chock full of shit, and she is afraid that somebody might actually call her on it. In public. While filming it.
But hey do you know something Sarah? The event is open to the media. And do you know who represents the NEW media? That's right sister Sarah, we do.
You have yourself a nice little visit. Be seeing ya.
Update: I call bullshit on this.
Palin was invited to hold a book signing on base, said Tina Andreadis, spokeswoman for the former governor.
She was "invited"? I doubt this very sincerely. There is NO way the base is going to invite criticism, and talk of partisanship, by inviting Palin to sell books to their troops. To be honest I am not even sure how they justify her being there at all.
It looks like this Harper Collins spokeswoman, Tina Andreadis, plays as fast and loose with the facts as Sarah herself.
Go Gryphen! You are on fire! (in a good way!)
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that she isn't having a book signing for the "general" public at Borders or Barnes. It's "see-through" and obvious why she isn't. For one, there won't be hundreds of people camping out for hours to shake her hand. She is a nobody in Alaska.
ReplyDeleteWTF indeed!! Sarah Palin you are just what Shannyn Moore called you last July when you "quit for the good of Alaska" - you are a bully and a coward. A F***ing Coward. Gryphen is exactly right. You are afraid to face the good people of Alaska and being asked a question on camera that you don't want to answer. You are either going to have to develop some sort of character and courage to face the truth and stop hiding behind your Facebook page, or go into permanent seclusion and direct your sheeples like Wizard of Oz. You Sarah Palin are a laughing stock. An international joke. But then you don't care as long as you can rake in the money from people not intelligent enough to question anything you do. But Gryphen is right, the NEW media is on to you and you know it and you are running scared. Some maverick.
ReplyDeleteThis controlling bullshit started during GW Bush's era. People got so used to it from those years, they don't even question it anymore. It's sick, and it's un-American. Well, she can run but she cannot hide. Amen.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, some people are commenting at Palingates that there might have been twins born on some date prior to 4/18/08. The photo of Levi holding Trig in the Palin kitchen, taken in early '08, apparently showing another baby's arm in the frame, is inspiring this theory. That particular photo seems to have been scrubbed from the internet, while all the other photos taken the same day are everywhere. Would you please comment on this, Gryphen?
ReplyDeleteNEW media Gryphen: Go get her! Rawwrrr!
ReplyDeleteWhat other "writers" are allowed to hawk their books on military bases, while dissing the President? I have never hear of this before Sarah (BS).
ReplyDeleteLet her hang herself.
ReplyDeleteFloyd - some readers found it. It's on the September 1st post on palingates.
ReplyDelete"What other "writers" are allowed to hawk their books on military bases, while dissing the President? I have never hear of this before Sarah (BS)."
ReplyDeleteIsn't that Treason? Dissing the President to the Military? Or could it be incitement? Trying to incite a Military Coupe?
Wouldn't it be nice if no-one at the bases came?
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear her welcome home was a chilly and cold as the weather!!!
I have the feeling this little "book tour" was straw on the camels back as far as her and Alaskan's...!
I wondered the same thing Gryphen...the bases are closed to the public yet she told everyone on face book "see you there" Well maybe she was talking to VO & her other new friends in Fairbanks????
Forgive me for a partial cross post with a comment I left on Bree's blog:
ReplyDeleteIf your local media had any guts at all, they would not send anyone to the Quitter's "photo op with military."
Instead they would be conducting on the street interviews with Alaska residents asking them "Why do you think the books signings are closed to the public?" and "How do you feel about that?"
"The Governor is humbled by this opportunity to honor the nation's military stationed in AK, especially during the Holidays."--
ReplyDeleteWhy does the Harper Collins publicist, call her "the Governor" ?? And how is selling a book, an opportunity to honor the military?? I understand the holiday part, many people will be Christmas shopping anyway, so that guarantees people showing up.
Okay, Sarah. Now you be sure and wear your military green hat, you hear? No doubt our folks in uniform will love your Castro look.
ReplyDeleteWhew, it's been a long trip, huh? Spending all that time on a stinky bus sure is tiring. Time to scamper on home/home/home, now, and make sure that Todd has put up the Xmas tree. Yup, it's time to pull out all those bright red decorations. Kinda remind you of "termaters," don't they?
So much to do, so little time. Gotta open up all those Xmas cards from your bots--after all, they might have a few fives, tens and twenties enclosed with the greetings. Yessiree! Play your cards right and you will have enough money to do all that Xmas shopping for your family and friends.
By the way, what do you think Todd will buy you for Xmas this year?
Psst, Todd--I'm thinking a wedding ring. What do you think? But, a word of advise, you probably should pay a little more than $35.00 for it, otherwise, Sarah will consider it worthless. She might even be inclined to throw it into the lake, come the Spring thaw.
Why is Sarah afraid of Alaskans? In her home state I would assume that she would draw very large crowds, guess not. Mrs Tawd Palin is nothing more than a republican stage prop and is afraid of the "media" in any form except for her "controlled" media.
ReplyDeleteForgive me my friends !
ReplyDeleteF**k you X Mrs. Palin, you are an awful mother, terrible dresser, habitual liar and a CROOK.
This just proves what a sham you are. Your next gig will be on a New York City street corner doing a 3 card monty scam.
Yes ,you resigning was for the good of Alaska because you did nothing to FORWARD your state.
I can't stand you !!!
I feel better now.
NYCgirl
Per WH Press Secretary, Meg Stapleton, 1/23/13: President Palin will not be dealing with world leaders until she "friends" them on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteSeriously folks, there is just way too much hate for this time of the year!
ReplyDelete"this opportunity to honor the nation's military" WTF? Talk about an ego! So the Queen thinks she's honoring our military by condescending to visit their cute little bases?
ReplyDeleteAre you guys sure her head will fit back into the state of Alaska? Last time she went on the Grand Tour and came home, she was nursing a bruised ego because she'd just lost the election. But she's just spent the last month being treated like a cross between the Beatles and Jesus Christ. Her mania must be raging like something terrible to behold.
For any who are interested in looking at the cropped photo of Levi holding what appears to be 2 babies, it's above and below the September 1, 2009 posting on palingates.
ReplyDeleteI wondered how she'd slip back into Alaska. I agree with anon @ 7:46, ignore her. Not one member of the press show up. Zero. Zip.
ReplyDeleteIdeally, a whole lot of people on base would line up with their backs to her.
Scarah doesn't get a dispensation from being despised just because of the Season.
Seems to me that originally (like a week ago) the plan was for her to
ReplyDeletesign books at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks. For folks elsewhere, Ft. Wainright is practically downtown but Eielson is thirty miles south in
a very rural area. I think the venue was changed because Ft. Wainright
would have been very easy to visibly protest from Airport Way, which feeds right into it. Also an easier post to get onto because they have recreation areas which are open to civilians. Eielson is a completely closed base.
We had to jump through lots of hoops to get through the gates when
my son played Little League games at Eielson.
Sarah Palin: ignorant, hypocrite, coward and fraud.
ReplyDeleteWell, we know Dennis will be working Sunday.
ReplyDeleteShannyn's new plans for Sunday!
AKM!
Phil
& Gryphen!
She lost, she quit.
ReplyDeleteHeckuva job, Sarah!
To the Editor:
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Ms. Palin wants the REST of the country to think that AK may be number 49 on your program, but number One in her heart--only she knows most Alaskans would rate her below Frank Murkowski. The only contact she'd be willing to have with the "people" of AK is in a controlled environment, like a military base.
Speaking of Palin's fetishization of all things military, in Going Rouge, Private Citizen Palin brags about how when she did SNL, Oliver Stone was there. However, because Mr. Stone had said things supportive of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, Ms. Palin REFUSED to shake his hand.
While I can't be sure, I'd be willing to bet of all the people there, Mr. Stone was the only person who actually had BEEN in the military, and served two (I think it was two) tours of duty in Vietnam. D'OH!

It must feel really awful to be Scary Palin. Imagine being afraid all of the time, of people asking you questions, seeing you w/out your wig, expecting you to speak English like a human, and especially of people telling you the truth. It must be terrible living your life that way, always thinking of a way to avoid reality, always protecting your false image, afraid of so many things. This is the life you have created for yourself and your family, Scary. But you know what? The truth will always catch up to you. Ask your fellow Repubs: Nixon, Sanford, Stevens, Ensign. Even Tiger Woods got caught. And so shall the truth come out about you. You cannot hide forever. And we are waiting.
ReplyDeleteIt's supremely funny to me that her final stop isn't in her real home town of Wasilla.
ReplyDeleteI do hope the book tour will actually end on Sunday and not be revived in a few months with a new itinerary of small towns...or an all military base tour. She could keep this up indefinitely.
I wonder whether book sales for the NYTimes bestseller list are sales to or from the booksellers. There sure were piles of unsold books at all her book tour stops.
7:53 AM
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised at you! To imply that the good governor -- almosr typed god governor, tee hee -- would use her hard-earned money from fans to buy Christmas presents for family and friends!
...
Ain't no way she'll be using those FUNds for anyone but herself...after all...it's her the people want to see, she deserves all the money. Her "friends" and family? They'll get copies of Going Rogue, signed, maybe, if they're willing to give $100 to SarahPAC.
There is a federal law that while on military bases, a person (while giving a speach, promoting something, etc.) cannot make any kind of remarks regarding partisian politics. Especially if you are a candidate or planning to be a candidate for office. There was some problems in the lower 48 last month I believe where a base commander where she was going to do a book signing was worried that she would break this law. I don't know what happened with that. Anybody? Also, if she makes bad remarks concerning President Obama, political or not, she's going to have the military frown at her, you DO NOT make disparaging remarks on a military base about the current Commander in Chief.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING !!!! Sister is truly going out in style... NOT!
ReplyDeleteSo let me get this straight...Yours, mine and our tax dollars are being spent hosting a book signing for an individual bashing our current President of the United States?
ReplyDeleteWhere do we protest this mockery?
Anon @ 9:12
ReplyDeleteWell, you sure got me there! lol I stand corrected.
Actually, I doubt that any of the three houses will be decorated at all. A good guess might be that, over the holidays, SP & PP will be sitting next to a condo pool somewhere closer to the equator, while Daddy TP & WP are off spending the holiday fixing a roof somewhere. Of course, BP, Baby TP & TJ will be shipped off to Chuck and Sally's... Who knows where Soldier TP will be? Maybe any place no one else in the family is at that moment.
(Again) Thanks for setting me straight.

ReplyDeleteDon't talking bad about the Trackman now...He's not any worse than any other REMFing Pogue you could mention.
What? Texas Air National Guard wasn't hiring or something? How about the Indiana National Guard?
Grypen
ReplyDeleteStock up on tomatoes & PLEASE practice your aim.
Gryphen - unlike what seems to be everyone else's opinion who posts on this site, I continue to believe Sarah delivered Trig. So please, those of you who are convinced she didn't - hear me out.
ReplyDeleteLet's suppose she is the actual birth mother of Trig and that he was indeed born at the time and day she says he was.
If this at some point comes out and is "proven" to be the truth - ie. birth certificate; testimony of medical staff; DNA testing, etc. - then here are the questions and conclusions that would remain:
1) What did CBJ, MD, know and when did she know it? Did Todd really call her from the Dallas hotel room first thing that morning? And if he did, did he specifically relate that Sarah was beginning to leak amniotic fluid?
This to me is the crucial question - was CBJ notified of the leaking amniotic fluid while the Palins were in Texas?
CBJ has never gone on record to speak to this issue specifically because the answer is no, she wasn't told about the fluid leaking (my opinion). Maybe Todd called her. Maybe he told her about the increase in type and frequency of contractions but if he had mentioned that Sarah was starting to leak fluid CBJ would have immediately sent them to the nearest hospital.
This pits Sarah's account - ie. leaking fluid early in the day in Texas, informing CBJ, going ahead with the speech and coming back to Alaska a couple hours earlier than originally scheduled - vs. - Dr. Cathy Baldwin-Johnson's medical reputation.
And CBJ is no slouch. She was chosen national family pract of the year a few years ago. This was a highly celebrated event the State over - articles written, parties held, etc. Wasilla and the rest of the State were very proud of her, and rightly so.
So it's CBJ's reputation vs. Sarah's account. While I hate to suggest pressure be applied to CBJ, because she's such a decent doctor and person; it is distressing that Sarah will toss her medical doc and that woman's reputation under the bus to keep herself from having to come clean with what really happened and when.
Sunday at EAFB ought to be mighty interesting. I think for the truth to finally come out the question needs to be - What did CBJ know about the leaking fluid and when did she know it? Was she informed of this detail while Todd and Sarah were in Texas? Did she learn upon their arrival early the next morning at Mat Su Regional? Or did she first hear about it that night while watching KTUU when Chuck Heath informed the State that "Sarah's water broke yesterday morning in Texas"?
Which is it?
Because the answer to this single question will determine the issue of whether Sarah is Trig's birth mother or not; just like it will clear up whether Sarah traveled from TX to Anchorage under the approval of an MD (which, as far as I can make sense of any of this, she did not).
This is the question to focus on. It clears up everything. CBJ should not have to keep having her reputation maligned because of Sarah's lack of disclosure.
"this opportunity to honor the nation's military"
ReplyDeleteOh! So, she is giving her books away to those stationed there?
Anon @ 11:14 AM
ReplyDeleteLet's say Sarah actually gave birth to Trig on April 18th--after the wild ride from Texas where no one at all, including the airlines saw a pregnant Sarah. Trig is 5-weeks premature, diagnosed with Down Syndrome and may have a hole in his heart, yet that tough ol' Sarah just packs up herself and Trig and takes him to work with her on Monday morning. Hmmm. Do you see anything unbelievable about this scenario? Anything at all?
Good Luck.
I am very upset that she has been appearing on military bases. I think we need to contact or write letters to the public affairs office in the Pentagon in VA. I think it is totally against all that the military stands for to allow any person to hawk their wares (or books in this case) on a military base.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try to find an address for the Pentagon to contact.Does anyone have an idea which office it might be?
I sure don't want to see her anywhere else. Let her dry up at home in her little compound.
GRRRR. She is really trying my seasonal good wishes.
@ Bill Abendroth --
ReplyDeleteVery entertaining review of Going Rogue!
Loved it!
http://samsamdat.blogspot.com/2009/12/i-hate-peopleand-i-dont-care-if-they.html
Does anyone find it odd that former Senator Obama wasn't out peddling his book at our military bases... Does anyone else think this would be an odd scenario, not to mention illegal?
ReplyDeleteSo what is the FREAKIN difference?!?!?
I am sooo outraged this is happening is AMERICA.
OMG I sound like FOX NEWS...I need a drink!
Go, guys, GO!!!! All of you AK bloggers/NEW MEDIA should stand shoulder to shoulder right in front of her and give a little smile and wave. She MUST know who you all are--wish I could be there to see her squirm! We're rooting for you!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny, Gryphen! You really make me laugh. God I hope you get into that book signing. I can't wait for you to write about it. If you are banned, we will know she reads your blog.
ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteYou're missing the point. She's "honoring the military" with her mere presence, and such as, also too.
She has a "thing" for troops
ReplyDeleteWhy Track is rarely seen with his mother.. he is outta there...
I bet she is always gawking at his military friends and he is like MOM Stop it already!
So, it seems that in 36 hours we have confirmation that SP is afraid of Alaskans - she prefers to hide out on closed military bases, and she is afraid to debate Al Gore. Very funny, and completely appropriate things for her to be afraid of. What will she do with herself now that the rush of writing the book of lies, touring and sucking up to idolizing fans is over?
ReplyDeleteThe bowlers will be a nice thing for her to look forward to. I am sure that she will be forced to cancel the Canadian speech, hmmmm.... probably along the lines of she never confirmed.
Sean Parnell is going to be there? And he's humbled? That's nice. I though Sarah Palin was going to do the (closed) book signing. Great way to sell books, her publisher must be so happy that she's limiting attendance.
ReplyDeleteWhat? No "free hot dog" photo op?
ReplyDeleteThis is her "Thank You" to Alaska. After quitting for the good of her state, she's flipping them off on her kiss my ass tour. Way to go, Sarah.

For some reason, the thing I found most weird about this story was that the "official spokesperson" of Eielson AFB was a SSgt.
ReplyDeleteNow, I absolutely do not intend to demean junior NCOs, but based on my admittedly limited, and long ago, service in the USAF, I am absolutely certain that there is a higher-grade individual who is the ACTUAL official spokesperson of EAFB. Detailing the media interface to a junior team member is an obvious ploy to deflect questions.
