You know sometimes when I am watching a video, while deciding what to post about it, I miss things. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I did not pick up on Sarah's spanking new addition to our American vocabulary, "mandation", until others pointed it out. Oops.
I also did not pick up on another odd thing about Sarah's interview, until I received an e-mail from a plastic surgeon. Now watch this video again, with the sound off this time, and focus on Palin's mouth.
This e-mail essentially says they may have pulled too far on the left side of her face. If this is in fact true, it WILL slowly get worse. Much, much worse!
Now just for comparison watch an older Sarah Palin interview conducted by Greta Van Susteren. You can see two things here. First, how different Palin's mouth appeared back then, and also how MUCH it now resembles Greta's. (Leave the sound off for better concentration.)
Well? What do you think? Do you agree with the plastic surgeon?
Update: I just received another e-mail form the plastic surgeon. Here are the highlights.
It looks like "damage to the marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve" is possible. "It's truly impossible to tell from a video but it looks like that is probably what happened. Usually nerve damage is temporary and will return to normal within 6 months to a year, although sometimes it can take 2 to 3 years for complete regeneration. Weakness or paralysis of certain muscles is possible if a nerve related to muscle movement is impaired. It can be treated with reconstructive surgery."
He also added that "stress is to be avoided at all costs." Well good luck with THAT Sarah.
You know what might help to relieve your stress? Choosing NOT to fight Levi for custody of his son. Just imagine how relaxing it would be to not worry about how that will play out in the media.
If it means watching two Sarah Palin videos in quick succession - even with the sound off - I pass. I'm too busy rubbing mandation on my tired ass.
ReplyDeleteWhile watching this last night I did notice something funny about her mouth- her lower lip seemed cockeyed. At the time, I honestly chalked it up to camera angle, lighting, bad lipstick or whatever. But, yes, I noticed it, too. Along with the disturbing false eyelashes, the distracting rapid blinking and the fact that nothing above her mouth moved when she spoke.

Greta's mouth started out only slightly cock-eyed after her surgery. It's gotten much worse over time. Palin's looks like Greta's did a couple years ago. Greta should have stopped after getting her eyes done. Personally, I think she's addicted to plastic surgery and now looks not quite human. She's had a lot done and she does a lot of botox.

That hairdo is a serious DON'T..it looks like a mullet. the Kentucky waterfall to be exact. It looks rather mannish...

ReplyDeleteWhen Palin is talking with Greta one doesn't see much of her lower teeth. Flashes of them, but only the tops. In the video from last night not only is her mouth crooked but one can see a lot of her bottom teeth when she talks.

But I suspect more than anything, her mean, nasty personality is beginning to show on her face. This is not a nice, happy person, and you can tell just by looking at her. You know how when you used to make faces as a kid and your mama would warn you, "Your face is going to freeze like that!" Mama was right.

As she ages (snark) and her face begins to sag again (unless she has figured out how to defeat the effects of gravity) her facial appearance will worsen and the pull to one side will gradually become more obvious and pronounced.

ReplyDeleteSociopaths try to mimic the emotions of others to try to gain their trust and sympathy. I assumed Sarah was moving her lips this way for Greta's benefit, because Greta also, too has this weird lip movement thing going on (though I don't think Greta's has work done).
I assumed it was the sociopath in Sarah that caused the lip thing, but it very well may be plastic surgery.
Open this post in two separate windows, then you can manipulate the videos so one is above the other and then play them at the same time (sound off, naturally.) You can then really compare the two faces and they are substantially different. Sometimes, in the most recent vid, her lower lip droops considerable on the left (when looking at her) side.

In the last few years, I have had 5 surgeries in the neck and upper chest area to remove thyroid cancer tumors. Extensive nerve damage has resulted from these surgeries, something that couldn't be helped. One side of my face droops and when I talk, my lower lip goes off to the side - very similar to what I see in the Palin clips. The damage is NOT reversible/repairable. I feel zero sympathy for anyone who elects to have risky surgery just for vanity's sake.
ReplyDeleteYou know, this is exactly what most reputable plastic surgeons warn against - rushing into surgery without doing lots of preparation and research to see that you are coupled with the surgeon right for you with the surgery right for you. Sarah does everything in such a hphzard rush -it's like she just can't wait to get to that final train wreck.

ReplyDeleteWatching that earlier interview with no sound was rather interesting. Her jaw was so tight and her upper lip almost never moved. It was almost like Thurston Howell III.
A few things stood out for me. First, She totally screwed with her face IMO. She looked natural in the Greta video, distorted in the Hannity one. In the Greta video, Sarah's mouth was moving normally and her lips flattened out when she smiled or enunciated certain sounds. A dead give away for fillers in the lips is if the lips remain full and do not flatten in a normal way when speaking or smiling. Augmented lips rarely look natural when they move. Her lips remain full in the Hannity segment and look strange. I've noticed when I am watching people who have had facial plastic surgery, that they usually look just fine when you view them straight on, and there face is immobile. As soon as they speak, you can see how the mouth area pulls unnaturally. This is what is happening to Palin. She may have had some bad surgery, but it could also be that her face is still swollen and numb. It takes a year before the results of a facelift are final. I have a feeling she will be going in for more tweaking. Wow, I can't get over how her mouth pulls so much to the side. She should be a cautionary tale for plastic surgery.

I have to say, it wasn't as painful watching her on TV with the sound off--that voice of hers is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I went to the free dictionary site to see if I could find it. It's not there, therefore, it's another Palin creation. It really makes her look bad that she is on teevee using words that are not found in any dictionary.

ReplyDeleteThe one plastic surgeon I have consulted so far did warn me that nerve damage was one of the risks of a facelift, that it could be permanent and that it could leave you looking like a stroke victim. I thought he was just being overly cautious running down all the possible risks.
I'm assuming Scarah didn't use a top plastic surgeon (after all, she doesn't like those educated Ivy elites). Maybe she used one like her who had to go to five colleges to graduate. 'Ya know, someone she could relate to.

I tuned in to watch her in person last night and could not focus on what she was saying because of the strange look she had around her eyes and mouth especially. Holy crap! I went through that video double clicking very quickly on the mouse, which freezes the frame every 1-2 seconds. The left side pull is incredibly noticeable and much more frequent when viewed that way.
ReplyDeleteI've never commented on Palin's alleged plastic surgery before because honestly, I didn't see any drastic changes. I felt any changes in her face were due to weight loss (she looks worse) and the veneers she had done on her teeth. Those were a huge mistake. Veneers that are too large can cause a lot of subtle changes in the structure of the face surrounding the mouth. Her old teeth fit her mouth and facial features so much better.
I've always felt Palin was an attractive woman, more so during the campaign because she did have great stylists and a good underlying structure and facial features. She is also photogenic. However, since then I must agree with other posters who point out, that she, left to her own devices, does not style herself appropriately for a woman of her age and status as a professional (wanna be?).
I could say that Palin and I are alike in an age/looks sort of way. I am a youthful, attractive 47, 5'5, 125. I've never had kids so I think that made a diff. I hate the term, but have been told I'm a MILF (I know, barf; a double barf for cougar). I'm accomplished and successful professionally and personally. I dress youthfully, but no where near inappropriately like Palin. And yes, I have bumpits! lol I've only used it once but I think they work with classy hairstyles when it's appropriate to wear (Winehouse and snookie are extremes). I would not put my hair up like that for work. Whoever is doing Palin's hair should be fired, pronto! It's way too exaggerated for malls, costco, or serious speaking engagements. I think she is trying to look rich and stylish, like a celebrity, but ends up looking trashy vs classy.
In this new vid you have up Gryphen she truly looks awful. The eye make up is extended so far out on the sides her eyes (top and bottom) actually look round and sunken. Her brows are big time higher, overarched and look as if they are drawn on (and that is vintage trailer park, IMO). The eye shadow is atrocious, like it was applied by a teen or a cheap hooker (White frosted? please..). Her hair looks stiff and cheaply colored and cared for. It's the first time I've really noticed all of that together.
I'm thinking that the Obamans, as illustrated in Game Change, were right. There is no need to go after her, she will self destruct on her own. Is it not happening a little more each time she pops up some where?

ReplyDeleteAs your expert states, it can be treated with reconstructive surgery. Well yes, it can...MORE surgery. More tissue and nerve trauma.
When nerves are traumatized or cut, they die all the way back to the nerve root before they can regrow or repair, IF they regrow or repair and no it does not always happens. It is a long process, as anyone who has suffered nerve damage can tell you.
Playing around with the face is tricky and risky. This is not someone with a deformity or a severe facial burn that requires reconstruction.
This is an idiot with a giant ego who is not willing to admit she is not 20 years old.
If her muscle movement is impaired, it is very likely her facial sag will get worse as gravity takes effect. We all age, at the same rate. Some of us obviously are not comfortable in our own skin.

In Alaska all this is accepted, will the whole country overlook the obvious?

Gosh, I said in the previous post I thought it was too much Botox, but looking at it again (thankfully with the sound off), it does look like there is more going on than Botox. Could possibly be Bells Palsy. And you are right Anon@11:49 am, her eyebrows just won't cooperate when trying to lift them. She looks downright freakish. I almost, repeat almost feel sorry for her.

ReplyDeleteI definitely think it is not too much Botox. Botox is a great drug if used conservatively. Botox's proper use is for the furrows between the brows, the crow eyes and forehead lines. Botox is not typically used on the lower face and wouldn't account for the weird look around Sarah's mouth.

I was going to write, "doesn't think she's pretty" but I understand a lot of people think she's seriously less attractive now. Her attempt to avoid the appearance of aging is creating an artificial appearance that screams "insecure phony."
At some point, when you have enough work done because you want to look youthful and pretty, you cross the line into desperation. And that's never attractive.
Reading through the comments, it's pretty obvious that although we think she's trash and incoherently ignorant, we also pity the sad and truly pathetic person that she is. The fact that she has undergone mucho plastic surgery to the point of nerve injury in order to rebuild her self esteem says a lot.

I almost feel sad for her. Then, however, I come to my senses, and realize how much damage she's caused to Native Alaskans, the Alaskan environment, and her family. All sympathy vaporizes at that point.
In our youth, our face reflects our genetics. In our middle and old age, our face reflects our character and personality. Enough said.

ReplyDeleteIt is also possible that it is purely stress related. People who are stressed or in pain tend to "pull faces" or tense up some areas of their face repeatedly, to the point that it becomes a permenent distortion. Kind of like a permanent squint from constant sun or pain.
I would like to think this her supressed decency trying to get her attention and being supressed. Maybe God is calling and Sarah's line is always busy.
Yes, she's had a lot of work done. I noticed in the Greta video that her whole lower face was much more mobile, even to having "double parentheses" on each side of her mouth--those are gone. And now, the right side bottom (left to us) of her mouth pulls. Also, there was even sometimes a small "v" on her bottom lip when using certain words--that's not there now, either.

ReplyDeleteI don't know the terms for plastic surgery but I know it when I see it. I think she also had a eyelid lift. It is not a full face lift but gives a younger appearance. I honestly have to say she looked ok before surgery. I am far from a fan of hers trust me. It is just her hate filled rhetoric that I can't not deal with. Not to mention her narcissist idea that she could actually lead our country when she can't take care of her own home.
ReplyDeleteHaving had Bells Palsy as a child, Iremember my face as being paralyzed on one side, drooling, etc. Completely recovered though I went deaf on that side. Don't know if it was the Palsy. It is nerve deafness.

If it were Bells Palsy it would be much more obvious and severe and she would not be on camera.
As I read Anonymous 1:05's thought about her being on drugs and then maybe going into rehab ... it scares me to think of how the bots will react then. I doubt that they'll be sensible and dump her. ReplyDeleteDoubtful it is Bell's palsy. That is characterized by a specific 1-sided facial droop. Her appearance resembles something that would result from damage to the facial nerve - Bells Palsy frequently involves the nerve under the eye. The mandibular nerve is much lower on the face and would cause a specific droop I'm thinking.
ReplyDeleteIt also would be a HUGE coincidence if she suddenly developed Bells Palsy at the same time she underwent what appears to be MASSIVE facial rebuild.

I noticed the off-centered lip action last night watching the clip from Greta's SOU review panel. The lip movement may be worse when she uses the 'RE' sound, as in Greta and rememberance (what she said - not my spelling).

I noticed that her fans are NOT commenting on her looks so much now. It used to be at least half the posts were comments about her outer beauty. The bots have switched gears and turned the goddess into an "enforcer" type character who "carries a big nightstick."

Like others, when I saw a snippet of Palin last night on Greta, my first reaction was OMGWTFBBQ! She truly looked like an alien being.
ReplyDeleteBesides the possible plastic surgery side effects and the terrible wig (which does not match her hair), what scares me in the Hannity video is that Palin does not move. Her head moves slightly from time to time but her body never moves and we never see her hands. The contrast to Hannity is striking. In the Greta interview from 2008, even though Palin was shown mostly as a head-shot, look how animated she is, how her head and body move, and how you even see her hands from time to time.
Did someone tell Palin to sit on her hands? Why? What is she trying to hide?
What is terribly sad is how attractive Palin was last year, during the campaign. I know she has a soul which is hideously ugly, but she looked great on the campaign trail. She looks terrible now.
I'm assuming drug use. I really hate to see her crash (physically) because she has young children who would suffer.
All I want is for her to crash--crash hard, and crash irreparably--politically. For her to say something or do something that would end her political career.
Relative to the possible nerve damage Sarah Palin might have suffered, suggested by "our" plastic surgeon, and the length of time it might take to regenerate the damaged nerves...

I know lots of people think that hollywood white teeth look really good but I don't think so. Her teeth are waaaay too white. They look unbelievably unnatural and they are very distracting. To me it's the same as fake lips, fake boobs...it's just fake. If she has to get some surgery to improve her appearance why doesn't she get the crossed eyes fixed? Can that be fixed?

ReplyDeleteNerve damage can be permanent. Medicine is not an exact science and side effects do occur. It's why all surgeons require an Informed Consent Form. It indicates a patient has been told all possible side effects (including death) have been disclosed to the patient.
ReplyDeleteFortunately most surgeries go well. But even death is often considered a poor outcome but not malpractice.
People die ... people maim themselves chasing the Holy Grail of Beauty. Her loss...no ones fault but her own sick and skewed vision of who and what she is. An unfortunate outcome - a damaged nerve which might result in disfigurement - is not malpractice. Messing around with facial nerves is iffy at best. The 8th cranial nerve (affecting balance) and the facial nerve are within milimeters apart and can be twisted...cut the wrong one, and oops.
My hubs underwent Meniere's surgery which involved going into the brain dura (outer covering) and severing the 8th cranial nerve. Our hope was that they didn't nick the facial nerve at the same time...we were fortunate our surgeon had very stable fingers. Nerves are not single entities - they often intertwine..playing with nerves is dangerous.

Certainly with her money she could afford a good professional. She was pretty before the surgeries started.
re: Bell's Palsey...my personal experience has me "lopsided" on the left side. This includes my eyebrow drooping, eyelid,too, mouth lopsided and lips more full on that side, cheek sags, nostril is a different size, & forehead is getting a bit of wrinkle again but was incredibly smooth @ the worst when it was totally paralyzed,Sept.08. Every blink was a wink because that eye never shut(taped closed @ bedtime for protection.

WOW. In the first clip, watch from minute 36 to about 44. Advance the film in the shortest frame speed possible (i.e., if you pause every quarter second or so you can see several facial changes per minute, so watch them all). When you watch each frame that slowly, it is obvious that only the right side of her mouth is opening. When her mouth is closed you can see her lower lip is assymetrical.

Last month a magazine (Time? Slate? don't remember) posted a video that recapped the past decade in pictures, and one pic was an early 2000s People magazine cover of Greta titled something like "Why I had plastic surgery."
But why in the world would Palin voluntarily agree to undergo the knife using Greta's doctor, when the results (Greta's unnatural/scary face) clearly speak for themselves. How scary & deep IS FAUXnews' influence?

Sarah has lost that 'expressive' way of talking that made her interesting to watch, that's for sure. Chris Matthews once said that she had a way of talking that made people keep their eyes on her, that she was 'engaging' ... I understood what he meant.
She has definitely lost that now. I agree that she probably had some surgery while she was in California 'writing' her book, (ahem) and that is why she was off the TV for a few months ... she doesn't look good at all, very 'affected' and not natural at all... I bet Chris Matthews would say she has lost her most important asset now!

About 3 or so years ago, there was a phony plastic surgeon who was a society Scientologist with a "society" clientele. Same county here in Florida where (I've read) that Greta lives. Don't know if he went to jail but do know at least some of his Scientologist buddies were demanding money back. I know 2 of his willing "victims" - older man & his beautiful 25 year old wife. They got refunds of $10K (or so they said - I tend not to believe anybody who gets elective plastic surgery). The doctor was administering botox for the 25 year old which indicated to me that he was a quack long before he got busted.

She is a completely different person, face-wise, from less than a year ago, and all of it for the worse: artificially bloated lips, overdone veneers, unnaturally high eyebrows (her natural ones appear to have been shaved off: ugh), a different nose, a changed distance from her nose to her mouth, excessive and unflattering eye make-up that accentuates her crossed eye, and an asymmetric face that seems partially frozen. Her whole countenance now seems frozen but not relaxed, giving her a quite fearful expression. Was it a plastic surgery overdose and botched job, with nerve damage as a result? And if so, is she on pain meds for this? BTW, Bell's Palsy and severe emotional disturbances can also result from the mercury involved in dental work (see http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/symptoms.html)
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, Sarah exhibits several symptoms of mercury poisoning listed on this website. I'm not suggesting that mercury poisoning is the cause of her problems, however. Excessive plastic surgery would be the more likely culprit.
Folks -- Greta's mouth has ALWAYS been crooked. I noticed it years ago when she was hosting a show on CNN (1991-2002). I could never remember her name back then, so simply referred to her as "the host of that legal show who talks out the side of her mouth." The plastic surgery she had on her way to Fox from CNN (and afterward) did not create her side-mouthed talking.

I just looked up some photos of Ivana Trump, whom we know Sarah admires. Maybe she was going for the Ivana look with her surgeries, etc ? Ivana wears her hair up in a very Wasilla style. Maybe one day Sarah will join Ivana on HSN selling flag jewelry. Several posters have mentioned Dolly Parton. One thing about Dolly , if anyone suggested that she should be the president she would think that was the craziest thing she ever heard.

4:00 PM ~ That is an important post. I am not as certain her face problem is only the plastic surgery now. The paranoia keeps Sarah close to Wasilla. I think the work she has done is mostly on the cheap and near her cocoon. The doctors names need to be exposed to warn others. The same goes for who is over medicating her for the tv shows.

Now, from the STOU FOX video, her lower facial movements are asymmetrical and her face seems swollen. Can you inquire of your contact about any possible explanations.
The sad thing about all of this is that everyone around her is probably afraid to tell her to "stop".

ReplyDeleteIt would have been better to have a pre surgery full frontal interview to compare with the post surgery interview. The different camera angles makes it a little harder to compare.
But I did watch her mouth moving and she has certainly lost movement on the left side. Not quite like a stroke or Bels palsy.
She just looks pitiful.....Stone face...Wild eyes....Blown out nostrils....Talking out the side of her mouth...No expression at all. I bet it would be horrible to watch her laugh, "if she could"....I'd be doing alot of crying if I were her. She always depended on her "sexy self"....Lord only knows who would want her to flirt with them, now. She has NO sex appeal left. I wouldn't make any speaking events or TV shows...nothing!!!! ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that Sarah got a hematoma after surgery. That's pretty unusual with a competent surgeon unless Sarah is a smoker. Any idea if she is a secret smoker? (Smokers are notorious for not healing well with plastic surgery and a lot of surgeons won't operate on surgeons).
Her upper face is totally frozen. Either a bad browlift or too much Botox or both.
Her face looks really unbalanced. Really brings home that you have to find a good surgeon who knows what he or she is doing.

My first comment did not make it through moderation, for some reason. But this is definitely NOT Bell's Palsy. When I had it, I could not shut my eye and had to patch it shut to sleep and shower. I had trouble eating out of one side of my mouth, and did not even want to eat out in public. There is no way I could have been on camera.

Some of the comments have mentioned her pupil dialation. Medications for ADHD, like Adderral, cause that phenomenon. Plus, they make your heart race, but oddly make you appear calm or if over medicated, zoned out.

You can only live with lies so long before they manifest in unusual ways. The eyes are the window to your soul and when I look in the eyes of Sarah now, it appear to look like the river Styx. The children must be terrified watching this transformation.
Those with photoshop might want to take the right side of Sarah and flip it to the left side and then take the left side and flip it right. While no one has identical sides to their face, it can sometimes show dramatic changes.

It would be cool if someone created t-shirts like those created for Tammy Fay Bakkar, the Christian evangelist that was known for her makeup. Those t-shirts looked liked Tammy had just hugged you and left all of her makeup on your t-shirt. How about this: I just ran into Sarah Palin! and then have the makeup on but have the lipstick exaggerated to the left to indicate the plastic surgery.
