SarahPAC raises 2 million dollars in 2009 because the world is full of stupid people.

I am sorry was that headline too harsh?

How in the world can a woman who cannot find her ass with both hands and a glow in the dark compass and who lies every single time she opens her crooked, overly botoxed mouth, convince people to give her TWO MILLION dollars of their hard earned cash?

She makes multiple millions of dollars selling that crappy book, has a contract to spout stale talking points on Fox News, and gets paid over a hundred thousand dollars to stand in front of a crowd of people to demonstrate why cousins should never marry, and still the low hanging fruit believes she needs their money! Are these people even allowed to walk around without competent adult supervision?

And get this quote from Meg Stapletongue:

"We are thrilled,” said Meg Stapleton, a senior advisor and spokeswoman for Palin. “Common sense Americans know the direction we need to take this country and that Sarah Palin will be instrumental in taking us there this year. We look forward to the journey ahead!”

Okay I have decided that the term "common sense Americans" is really code for "severely brain damaged, barely ambulatory Americans". These "common sense Americans" can easily be identified by the fact they have to wear motorcycle helmets indoors and bought "Going Rogue" just for the pretty pictures.

At least when you send your money to a televangelist he promises to cure your goiter. What does giving your money to Sarah Palin get you? Less self esteem?

Here is the link to their 2009 disbursements.

I'll think I'll donate some money to SarahPAC right now. What a grand idea, Gryhpen. Thank you!

Did I misread, or did she buy about $50,000 worth of books to give out a fundraisers? I don't remember reading that she gave away any books. She probobly bought them at a reduced bulk rate and resold them on her book tour for $29.95.

    Gryphen, you said
"...gets paid over a hundred thousand dollars to stand in front of a crowd of people to demonstrate why cousins should never marry..."

Is there a story in the "why cousns should never marry"? I've been suspecting that but then I jump to conclusions all the time. :)

35 or 40 years ago in Reader's Digest there was a story of some college kid who took out an ad in several newspapers that said, "Last chance to send in your $1". That's all it said. He collected $100,000 before the authorities caught up with him. Considering inflation, Sarah's $2 million would be about the same.

And just where are the half a million $ in attorneys' fees that she said drove her from office (due to all the ethics charges)? ;-)

  7. Really Gryphen! How can you be so mean to sweet Sister Sarah? She's an ideal American, a wonderful mother, she can lead this country in the (far) right direction, etc, etc. And she's the mother of a special needs child! How dare you!

Okay, j/k. I don't understand how anyone with half a brain can like this woman. It's beyond explanation to me, too, also, you betcha.

I'd never give her money, but some wealthy Repubs behind the scenes must have given her some, plus the deluded "little people", who come for miles around to buy a copy of her lies, and have their photos taken with her.

I'd pay a pretty penny for one of those donuts in that ad on your page, though.

Silly sarah far too busy blowing through SarahPac funds...where reportedly, administrative costs (i.e. family & friends) accounts for $95 of every $5 donation, stemming from the $1.4m she "begged" since quitting in July. Of that coffer, she donated $64,000 to a few GOP campaigns?

Methinks that someone ought to be taken a closer look at the math there; not to mention the curiously missing Alaska Fund Trust...said to be setup for the former the XGINO's legal fees?

There's need of a great deal of, shall I say "sunlight" in the upper 49th!

She'll be like Al Capone, a known crook, but will hopefully go to jail on tax fraud. The Grifter will not want "big government" getting their hands on the money she bilked out of Americans who think she's just like them.

It is pretty amazing that it takes millions of dollars to contribute a few thousand dollars to fellow PACs. Talk about fuzzy math. Follow the money someone!!!!

I am sure that there are plenty of questionable items in this filing, but there's one already that interests me.

sarahpac shelled out $50,000 for the website, with an additional $8000 for website consulting. palin paid that much for a 5 page website????

in the real world, the existing sarahpac website would take no more than a week to complete and cost no more than $3,000.

of course they have the right to blow their money wherever the hell they want, but if I was a donor I'd be pissed off to see that waste, and I'd be seriously wondering how much of the other expenses are bullshit, too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Heck if more of those donors had not stuffed quarters in envelopes she would have gotten more. I have seen people get ruined for minor tax infractions. I wait to see what happens with this house of cards. Or i start claiming mosquitos as dependants.

Financial statements, by their very nature, bore the crap out of me.

However, a couple of observations: why doesn't SarahPac do its banking in Alaska? Daddy Heath spent $1,000 mailing stuff for the PAC? And what's in those "boxes" are they moving and storing? Cash?
Clothing they were supposed to have sent back to the RNC? Hmmm...

And just why was the PAC paying for food/beverage at Yankee Stadium?

Wasn't she and her daughter there watching a baseball game with friends?

Can't they buy their own hot dogs?

Nothing wrong with a woman getting her hustle on, making that money. But, the route she's taking??? Ok, let's just forget all of the rules. We don't don't need morals and values. Let's just get it any way we can and f*ck the rest..

Wow, she spent $403 on breakfast? Imagine how much rice just that expenditure would go in feeding her supporters, some of whom actually live on it while sending their hard earned cash to this scam artist.

And she paid Meg Stapletongue twice--a monthly "stipend" of $4,000 and large amounts to Izzylene Consulting, her business. So, double dipping Meg is being well paid for HER lies, you betcha, also, too.

Soooo, for your generous donation you get a "share" in:

A compound on Lake Lucille (while you're struggling to pay your mortgage)

Plastic surgery and botox treatments (while you can barely afford to go to a doctor)

Dinners at expensive NYC restaurants (while you're going to Micky D's for their dollar menu)

A Cadillac Escalade (while you're driving a 15-year-old beater that barely runs)

A really cheesy but expensive wardrobe (while you shop at second hand stores)

Hairstyles taken directly from 1960s issues of Modern Beauty Shop (uh, no comment here)

A barely-used tour bus with SarahPalin®'s picture plastered all over it (no comment either)

Numerous "toys" including snowmobiles and bush planes (while you can't afford anything but paying your monthly bills)

Ghostwriters galore (but you'd rather listen to her comforting voice screeching the daily Rethug script on Faux News)

Child care for two babies (while you struggle to work and raise your own kids)

Well, as SP once said, patronizingly, (to a teacher on the campaign trail, I believe): "You'll get your reward in Heaven." And I've got this bridge over here...

The (total) $21,000 to a certain Kim Daniels is interesting. Daniels is an atty for the Thomas More Law Center, and ultra-right wing (as in pro-life and anti-Muslim cases) 'not-for'profit' legal firm. . .Daniels also consulted for McCain campaing re: compliance issues, helped write the CSLA/Hong Kong speech along with Schueneman and was a major donor to the McCain campaign ($1000) as well.
Perhaps this is payment for speech writing. . .or, what else? Bigger and better bigoted ideas to stick on her Facebook page?

Looks like her Gridiron speech cost her $14,000 (Eric Schnure).

Plus, didn't you just love that it cost her $13,000 to wrap the bus for her 'book tour'? Hmmn, but this wasn't to be a political campaign, was it???

AND, don't you just love the fact that she gets the PAC to pay out $1000 to the Down Syndrome organization. . .so she doesn't have to out of her own pocket?

PSST - Someone should tell her that this organization was FOR the PUBLIC OPTION - as that would have BENEFITTED and PROTECTED children and adults with DS - not remanded them to DEATH PANELS.

And don't forget about the Alaska Fund Trust. Most of Sarah's supporters (walking zombies) are on the lower end of the economic scale (poor white trash). Everyone knew (well...maybe they didn't know, because they are walking zombies!) that Sarah had a multi-million dollar book deal in the works. Yet they donated their hard-earned money to help poor, broke Sarah pay her legal fees. And then many of these same folk each paid Sarah $25 so they could stand in line all day to get her signature on a book that most will not (or can not) read anyway.

Real "common sense Americans" you betcha!

  38. Anonymous7:29 AM

Has anyone done research on other politician's PAC's? What are the percentages of overhead expenses, or donations that other PAC owners spend?

I know I'd be disappointed knowing my hard-earned money went to feed Rudy and wife expensive hot dogs at the "game". Or, that it was spent on Sarah's friends' business interests, or on high-priced private jet travel, and lastly, personal legal fees.

How many donors have fallen into legal situations where they owe their lawyer almost $50,000 for a six-month period? Sarah seems to live life with a "damn the consequences" attitude, then expects average families to pick up her pieces. Why couldn't she have responsibly paid her own legal fees, instead of taking trips to Hawaii, staying in the best hotels, living like a rock star? She's living the good life off the generosity of others. Does this woman have a heart?

  39. Anonymous8:15 AM

Frankly, I would be surprised if she took in more than $2 million and simply did some creative bookkeeping with the rest.

There are people over at C4P who are complaining because they say they've sent in more than $250 but their names aren't on the list of big donors. They are also complaining because they were promised a "free" book for their contribution but haven't received it. This outfit is in serious need of an audit.

Paying off all those people who know your dirty little secrets is expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Willow Palin was NOT at the Yankee's game. Sarah's last financial disclosure proved that with the dollar amount given for the tickets. The amount of money was for 2 tickets only, not 3 like she claimed.

And it is funny to see that out of 22 total contributions to other things (campaigns & charity) only 6 of them were given prior to December 31st. She waited until the last possible second, until she really had no other choice if she wanted to continue to claim that she was giving money to others in any way.

Spending 50K in buying her OWN books? How many books is that do you think? Probably a good chunk of the actual number sold. Must be nice to have a slush fund like that to cover all those "expenses" incurred while trying to raise MORE money. Ivy makes out pretty darn well it seems. As does Pam and Tim, whoever they are. And edonations.com? What is that all about?

I don't know if this is just how SP's PAC works, or if ALL PACs work like that, but if they all do, I will not contribute to any PACs in the future. The money she has distributed to actual political causes is laughable. Her supporters are complete idiots.

  53. Well, for sure every expense paid for by the PAC (whether kosher or not) or expense paid by HC or anyone else, can not be taken by the Palin's off their personal income tax. So what does she have to offset that $1.25 mil book advance not to mention whatever else she's gotten from HC and Fox?

It would absolutely be completely consistent with IRS policy that they audit a family that in one year goes from claiming about $200,000 in income to over $1 million in income.

The PAC too should be 'audited' but I think I read somewhere that the FEC has already requested details regarding some of the expenditures.

It seems like last year out of $1 million in expenses, only about $45,000 of that went to causes and candidates, which is what the PAC says it is set up to do. That's the sole reason anyone should be giving - to see the money get where it's supposed to go. 55% of the money went to administration. Much of that to travel (first class), and expensive meals for her (and her entourage?).

    Fiscal conservative? I think not.
