I posted about his yesterday, but Media Matters has used its team of researchers to do a much fuller investigation of her many illogical statements and outright lies.
Palin's Facebook ghostwriter blogs the following: Using every partisan parliamentary trick in the book (including some they invented just last week), Washington’s Left intends to ram through their takeover of our health care system regardless of the consequences.
However MM points out the following: Reconciliation has repeatedly been used to reform the health care system.
And then goes on to list when and where it was used in the past.
Palin also made the false accusation that the bill was attempting to sneak in federal funding for abortions.
However MM points out the following.
Senate bill prohibits issuers from using federal funds "for purposes of paying for" abortion. The Senate health care reform bill as passed states that if a "qualified health plan" offered under the health insurance exchange provides coverage of abortion services for which public funding is banned, "the issuer of the plan shall not use any amount attributable" to the subsidies created under the bill "for purposes of paying for such services."
So in other words, and here is the big shocker, Palin's two main points are refuted by the facts. Of course we should not be shocked that it is full of falsehoods when even the claim that it was written by her is complete bullshit.
However the sad thing is that not one of the people who follow Palin are interested in the facts. they are only interested in the mythology which supports their desire to believe that the country is broken and its only remaining hope is for Sarah "I write notes on my hand" Palin to take the helm of leadership.
You know I can forgive people in ancient times for worshipping statues and sacrificing children to gain favor with imaginary gods, they did not even have Google.
But this is the twenty first century! We are expected to know better!
There is simply NO excuse for these people to blindly follow a woman so completely unable to tell the truth, and so completely devoid of admirable qualities.
As has been illustrated over and over again the woman is as fake as John Boehner's tan.
Or for that matter, much of her surgically enhanced face.
I can hardly wait until the health care bill passes and Sarah and Glenn Beck have their first conversation about what they think it means for this country. I predict plenty of crying from Beck and that Palin's arms will be covered in talking points that she vaguely understands but certainly does not want to forget.
You know that might be an episode of Glenn Beck worth watching. Just for the comedic value alone.
This much is true: Sarah Palin is a confirmed liar and fraud. Period.
ReplyDeleteCompletely unrelated to the topic, but you blog looks totally awesome.
ReplyDeletePlease, Media Matters, fact check her more often. Now if only the MSM would listen to Media Matters.
ReplyDeleteGuess those 12 Dem. Congressmen led by Stupak or whatever his name is
ReplyDeleteare wrong also. Amazing...isn't
it?
Sarah lied? She continues to forge false claims?
ReplyDeleteDogs have paws.
Octopus have tentacles.
Of course she lies, constantly and with prejudice
(in her own extremely small and diseased mind.)
Off topic, but hey the blog format looks great! It's easier to navigate because I can see more on a page, and it is gentle on the eyes.
ReplyDeleteIt is so important that we have groups like Media Matters while American media is being run by huge corporations for power and profit. This must change. Good for Media Matters - they certainly matter to me!
My post has little or nothing to do with the theme of this story, this is my epiphany ...how do you destroy an democracy (or for the purists: a republic) and create the ultimate oligachy? (i.e. think of the "Gilded Age" of the United States and the similar trend of previous decades known as "Devine Right". Only those blessed by God have money, power or the right to rule.) First step: level the playing field. Get rid of public education. (Figure it out.) Step #2: Limit wages so those people do not raise above their class. (i.e. Who needs a minimum wage.) #3: Force them all to breed and reproduce: do not allow the use of birth control and forbid the very idea allowing anyone the privilege of ending a pregnancy (unless of course you can pay cash:))
ReplyDeleteAwesome! They got a massive uneducated work force for whatever they want...shall we say serfs, slaves or just cannon fodder for continuing wars of colonization, etc.
God help us all!

ReplyDeleteBoy, I agree with you. It's as plain as day. The big Money is in control of this country and they're controlling just like you describe.
God, when's it all gonna stop, if ever?
To be fair to Palin, she did not write this or any other Facebook post. She has people who do that kind of menial work for her. Writin', readin', and thinkin' is what the hired help is for, don't ya' know?
ReplyDeleteBe that as it may, why does the GOP not realize we live in a post Google world? Their ridiculous lies can be debunked in about a minute long internet search, yet they keep tossin' out the whoppers.
The good news is Palin is about as popular as hemorrhoids. Unfortunately, she is also about as equally hard to get rid of. Her only chance at higher national office was if she had spent her time since the ’08 election educatin’ herself on, oh virtually everything under the sun. If she had managed to learn how to speak without mangling English or, God forbid, to actually say something coherent, she might have had a chance. Instead, she is every bit as imbecilic, arrogant, and vapid as she was 18 months ago.
She keeps lying and thinks we haven’t caught on yet? She is such a moronic clod.
Hey, Sarah! Here’s another “Quote of Day for Sarah”:

ReplyDeleteIt is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.
"It's more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know," [Pelosi] said in a roundtable discussion with bloggers Monday. "But I like it," she said, "because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."
"The good news is Palin is about as popular as hemorrhoids. Unfortunately, she is also about as equally hard to get rid of."
ReplyDeleteThat one made me laugh!
I'm in the minority, don't like the new look. Guess I'll get used to it. akbatwoman
Gasman, if I could fan you on this blog i would.
ReplyDeleteLove this doozy:
"The good news is Palin is about as popular as hemorrhoids. Unfortunately, she is also about as equally hard to get rid of."
OT, but is anyone familiar with this blog?
ReplyDeletehttp://malialitman.wordpress.com/2009/12/09/sin-of-omission/
I just discovered her tonight- where have I been? She even wrote a book rebutting Palin's Going Rogue!
The problem is, we all get it but the Palinbots don't. If Sarah said "Eat shit sandwiches," they would be pooping on the floor and spreading it on good old white bread.
ReplyDeleteNo, it will take something MAJOR to get their attention.
When has a trillion dollar bill ever passed the House without being put to a vote? Aweek ago, the President called for "an up or down vote" but now Pelosi is not even going to do that because she doesn't have the votes.
ReplyDeleteObama and the Democratic Party are sending this country straight into a governmental and constitutional crisis fighting a battle they have already lost. Millions are out of work and The One is worried about his legacy.
Apparently, Palin has never let the facts get in the way of a good lie……
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 5:39
ReplyDeleteCome back when your mind clears itself of the blue-dog, right-wing, party of no, demagoguery fever...
House Dems are sitting on the latest CBO report, apparently has bad numbers for Pelosi and Co.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, love your analogy re: ancient times for worshiping statues of gods, but this is the 21st century and we SHOULD ALL know better - !especially a half term governor].
ReplyDeleteLove your update to your site - much cleaner appearance.
