On Friday night, Sarah Palin came to Orlando, and attacked Rep. Alan Grayson. This is what she said:
"I got to meet quite a few candidates who are lining up in a contested primary who want to take out Alan Grayson. And I think Alan Grayson -- what can you say about Alan Grayson? Piper is with me tonight, so I won't say anything about Alan Grayson that can't be said around children. [Good one, Sarah!] But thank you, Florida, for allowing candidates in a contested primary to duke it out over ideas and principles and values, all with the same goal, and that is unseating those who have such a disconnect from the people of America. That's what the goal is here in this race against Alan Grayson. Please fight hard, and do this for the rest of the country. Fight hard, and send a conservative to Washington, DC."
Palin, the former half-term Governor, current-nothing and future-even-less, charmed the all-Republican audience with her folksy folksiness and her homespun homespunnery. Atypically, Palin was wearing clothes that she had paid for herself. At the end of the event, she shared her recipe for mooseface pie.
In response to Palin's attack on Rep Grayson, Grayson actually complimented Palin. Grayson praised Palin for having a hand large enough to fit Grayson's entire name on it. He thanked Palin for alleviating the growing shortage of platitudes in Central Florida. Grayson added that Palin deserved credit for getting through the entire hour-long program without quitting. Grayson also said that Palin really had mastered Palin's imitation of Tina Fey imitating Palin. Grayson observed that Palin is the most-intelligent leader that the Republican Party has produced since George W. Bush.
When asked to comment about what effect Palin's criticism might have, Grayson pointed out, "As the Knave's horse says in Alice in Wonderland, 'dogs will believe anything.'" Earlier, as the Orlando Sentinel reported, Grayson said, "I'm sure Palin knows all about politics in Central Florida, since from her porch she can see Winter Park," which is part of Grayson's district.
Grayson said that the Alaskan chillbilly was welcome to return to Central Florida anytime, as long as she brings lots of money with her, and spends it. "I look forward to an honest debate with Governor Palin on the issues, in the unlikely event that she ever learns anything about them," Grayson added, alluding to Politifact's "liar, liar, pants on fire" evaluation of much of what Palin has said .
Scientists are studying Sarah Palin's travel between Alaska and Florida carefully. They hope to learn more about the flight patterns of that elusive migratory species, the wild Alaskan dingbat. Perhaps somebody needs to inform Sarah that you cannot enter into a battle of wits completely unarmed.
Of course in her defense she WAS speaking to a crowd of geniuses who think that the proposed health care bill will take away their Medicaid and that fascism and socialism are interchangeable.
You can tell Rep. Grayson what you think of his brilliant response, or donate to his campaign here.
I love Grayson. He's a breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what to think of Grayson.
ReplyDeleteSmart, witty, a very charming guy.
It's when he pops up on shows like Alex Jones that I get nervous.
Alex Jones, Allan ?
Sarah, RAM and the rest of the Palin-bots are furiously searching through Alice in Wonderland. First, scratching their heads over what Grayson meant " The Knave's horse? Who-what now?" and Second, trying to find something in the same story to throw back at Grayson that they think is an insult. This should be rich because you can bet it will be a non-sequitir to what Grayson meant. Grayson pretty much said "F@ck with me at your own peril, you nitwit."
ReplyDeleteHe called her out without "makin' stuff up" just like SNL. He made the big point that Palin claims to know things she does not nor does she care to be informed. It was hilarious how he commented she did not quit during her speech.
ReplyDeleteIf she seeks any office her quitting is going to haunt her. It shall be said she quit to get a tv gig, guest contributor, get a tv show of her own, travel to sell her book, has her own tv studio at home not a serious politician.
Why does she use Piper to put it out there what a good mother she is before attacking Grayson making a false impression? What kind of parent travels and drags their kid around the country? It does seem she wisened up people are disgusted how she used Trig. Usually if one parent travels the other parent provides stability for the children at home. The Palins are the antithesis of American family to me.
The event Palin was at is a stones throw from my hotel. I can see it it from my hotel room....couldn't have been too successful because there was a big Comic Book Convention right across the street at the big Orange County Convention Center and that was sold out in advance.
ReplyDelete"Piper is with me tonight, so I won't say anything about Alan Grayson that can't be said around children."
ReplyDeleteShe's so clever! Alluding to perhaps a sewer mouth, and while she thinks it, only her child keeps her from saying it? Is Grayson big enough to make her so mad that this fine Christian would think anything unprintable?
Oh, she is so CLEVER! hee hee!
Grayson: smart AND funny, let's keep him in office!
Piper is STILL traveling around with her??? Lord!
ReplyDeleteGrayson is a bit of a loon himself but I have to say I've enjoyed his exchanges with the media. Touche Mooselini!
Grayson for President.
ReplyDeleteAt least he has a set.
I wonder if he will get a sizable contribution from us Alaskans and if he will share numbers. . . heck, he needs to run for office up here!
ReplyDeleteBRING GRASON TO JUNEAU! (Sorry Bob, after you decide to not run again! LOL)
Gawd, I love Alan Grayson. He is SMART. What ever happened to SMART being a desirable trait in a politician? I revere brains in my elected officials. She is unbelievably dumb, and it comes across every time she opens her mouth. She is like the princess in the story who, whenever she opened her mouth, frogs and toads and spiders came spewing out.
ReplyDeleteGo Alan - keep it up and I'll send you some more dough!
11 am on monday but your link to mudflats does not work; is her site down because google cannot find the server.
ReplyDeletedid a double take with your new layout.
Thank you, Rep. Grayson. Finally an elected official who is not afraid to call the Quitter out for what she is. I hope more people grow some balls.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we will now see the Quitter going after Grayson at every opportunity lol.
Palin has the audacity to think that she can take on someone who has their own brain? Grayson in a coma would still run circles around Palin in a debate. A real gloves off exchange between Palin and Grayson might be humiliating enough to the Wasilla Chillbilly to knock her off the public stage once and for all. She has not yet faced anyone who truly took her on. Not once. We know from “Game Change” that Biden, against his better judgement, refrained from going after her in their debate. Palin’s roughest treatment was by Couric, whose giant marshmallow questions like “what do you read?” so stymied Palin. She is incapable of facing anyone with rhetorical skills that outshine hers, like say anyone older than twelve would likely possess.
ReplyDeleteFor all of her arrogant bluster, Palin knows that she is inadequate onstage, which is why she has so many preconditions before she speaks anywhere. It’s also the reason she writes on her hand. She can’t even remember 3 or 4 talking points and she would have us believe that she deserves her place on the public stage. If she is still harboring any fantasies about running for POTUS, at some point she will HAVE TO debate someone. Palin’s problem is that she is such a bumbling clod, anybody that she would face in such a contest would automatically be exponentially better in a debate format than she would. At some point she would also HAVE to start taking questions from reporters who will definitely NOT be so gentle to her the next time around.
Grayson’s tongue in cheek “compliments” toward Palin surely stung the Former Partial Governor. We know that she has a thin skin and obsesses about insults on blogs such as this one - PALIN IS A FECKLESS MORON - er, sorry, I couldn’t resist. If she obsesses about slights on blogs, can you imagine to what degree she is now seething about Grayson’s remarks?
“Quote of the Day for Sarah”:
“Unreason and anti-intellectualism abominate thought. Thinking implies disagreement; and disagreement implies nonconformity; and nonconformity implies heresy; and heresy implies disloyalty — so, obviously, thinking must be stopped. But shouting is not a substitute for thinking and reason is not the subversion but the salvation of freedom.” - Adlai Stevenson
That Stevenson quote ought to keep Palin's lips moving for a week.
From what we see way up here in socialist Canada, Alan Grayson is very much in touch with the American people and is doing an excellent job of representing them. He is so much more intelligent than Sarah Palin and she would never risk having to go one on one with anyone like your Mr. Grayson. Better for her that she gets to blather on in front of sympathetic loonie filled audiences and have pretend question and answer sessions (with prescreened questions and hand written answers - ha ha) rather than really debate or discuss issues with people who have opposing views.
ReplyDeleteHelp me out here, Alaskans! Seriously, are children not required to attend school until about what-16? Is Piper being "home-schooled"? Are there any tests or monitoring that take place in the Alaskan education system? I feel so sorry for the innocent children, and particularly how they will function as adults.
ReplyDeleteAlan Grayson's response to SP is absolutely awesome! Reading her like a book, he uses wit and brilliance to smack her down really hard!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if there was a subliminal editorial slight intended or not, but in the Orlando Sentinel article about Palin's FL speech, covered in Saturday's edition, the story begins on page A1 for a sentence or two then goes to page B10, which also contains - wait for it...
ReplyDeleteTHE OBITURARIES!
Does the Orlando Sentinel know something we don't?
"Central Florida was running low on platitudes.."
ReplyDeletethat is my favorite line
OMG--thanks for the laugh of the morning!! This is what is going to happen to Palin EVERYWHERE if/when she comes out from behind her facebook writer and tries to take on intelligent people face to face using her inch-deep Americana Lite 1.0 philosophy.
ReplyDeleteSP = Tabloid Trainwreck Twit! More please!!!!!!
When I re-read this it struck me that what she was really up to with the "what can I say about Alan Grayson that can be said around children" was deliberately delivered to plant the idea that children are not safe around Alan Grayson. Palin's dirty politics.
ReplyDeleteI want to echo Jenn's remarks ... this makes me so mad! So Sarah, what would you have said if Piper were not around? Why don't you send Piper home to go to SCHOOL and play with her FRIENDS (if she has any) and stop hiding behind her! We have seen the pictures of you at your meetings as Governor: Piper is standing in front of you and beside you and you can't do anything without your "baby" there! So what vile things would issue forth from your venemous mouth if Piper were not there? Would you use profanity? Would you call Senator Grayson horrible names? Is this Christian and ok (oh, but not in front of the children)? Sarah, the God you supposedly worship is omnipresent, He is omniscient. Do you know these words? Inscribe THEM on your hands because you need to be reminded NOW that God knows all, sees all. He knows what you were thinking even though your little 8 year old prevented you from saying it. He sees you when you are back in that hotel room; he sees you when you are hiding in your black SUV's pretending to be President. He hears you when you talk of others away from the microphone. You may not get your comeuppance here on Earth though I sincerely hope that you do, but you will when you meet that God you profess to "give all to" face to face. RAM, if you read these blogs for Sarah, I hope you will relate my message to her. Hiding behind an 8 year old. Sister, have you no shame?
ReplyDeletePoor Piper. Granny always uses her as an excuse for her not being able to say dirt on someone. The fact is, mrs palin, doesn’t have the knowledge of facts to say anything intelligent any way. But she uses the kid as an excuse. What a mom you are sarah.
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't Piper in school?
ReplyDeleteAt first I was confused, as this is what's posted on Grayson's website. Can we clarify the source? It's filled with Grayson quotes; was it written by a staffer?
ReplyDeleteIn other words, whose post is this?
Saying that she can't call Grayson names because Piper was present is really a tease. It's like say, "I can think of all kinds of nasty names to call the guy, but since I'm a lady...." It is putting it out there without actually saying it. Sarah is a tease!
ReplyDeleteAlso, too, she had written some of the names to call Grayson on her hand, but since she didn't use a Sharpie, the names got blurred and she couldn't read them.
"...take out Alan Grayson."??
ReplyDelete"...duke it out over ideas."??
"fight hard...Fight hard."??
Trying to incite your minions to violence--right there in front of Piper?
Things that you are not:
...a lady,
...cultured,
...refined,
...genuine,
...rational,
...a good role model,
...a mom. You may be a "Mother" but your not a "mom," and there is a huge difference.
Hope you get this/the message, Sarah...
Someone suggested, and this may not be fair, but maybe there is a reason she does not want to leave Piper at home. Chuck is creepy --- might be it. Or no one home, with Todd and Willow living elsewhere and Bristol got her own apt to either fool the judges or to go down to only taking care of ONE kid.
ReplyDeleteThanks, DaisyDem!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Piper the one in one of Palin's emails to Ivy that said that she wanted to know if Palin could pull Lyda's hair? With such coping skills, this little brat may have not had any friends with how she dealt with people she didn't like. (If Palin wasn't making the story up.)
Sarah Palin will be the reason Alaska gets stricter homeschooling laws. There will come a point when her rediculous ways will deeply hurt the very people she was representing. She needs to finish her self destruction in private.
Daisydem--well said!!! Her faux "Christianity" is disgusting. And her hubris of conflating herself with God's voice (letter about Trig) and equating herself with God in her actions (writing on hand) is shocking.
ReplyDeleteDragging a school aged child all over the country to be a political prop is the height of disdain for education. I feel certain that whatever she refrained from saying on stage about Alan Grayson, she has said many times in front of Piper in private. I imagine Piper has the roll of stabilizer for her mother and has seen and experienced things way beyond her years. You can see how she has changed over the last two years. It's heart breaking. Beware for your immortal soul, Sarah Palin.
The stupid Twit used Piper again, ho-hum Stupid Sarah. We know your daughter is smarter than you - she probably even understood what Grayson said to you!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a loser, Sarah - your retort was straight off the notes written on your high school locker. You couldn't remember anything there, either. You put the L is loser, along with the o, the s, the e, and the r. Poster child for LOSER - that's Sarah!
Alan Grayson bitch slapped Palin. HARD! And I'm lovin' it!
ReplyDeleteThis another one of Grayson's finest moments! This is right up there with his smack down on the Georgia representative regarding Acorn. Persistent and keen as ever. I wish he could be cloned and be my State representatives. Here in SC, I tripled blessed to have Demint(ed); Just Say No Joe (Wilson) and Lindsay (talking points) Graham. Clyburn the only Dem, thinks we should all eat pork everyday. Has no sense of spending controls.
ReplyDeleteI envision a SNL skit of big girl Sarah.... Sarah hiding behind Todd as he sits in the governor's chair. Sarah hiding behind the trees as she goes at for a run. Sarah hiding behind a newspaper pretending to read. Sarah hiding behind Piper during her speaking engagements. (I know.. I should keep my day job.)
I just called Grayson's campaign headquarters, and the person who answered the phone said the emails and financial donations from Alaska have been amazing! LOL
ReplyDeleteNice new look.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think Alan Grayson -- what can you say about Alan Grayson? Piper is with me tonight, so I won't say anything about Alan Grayson that can't be said around children.
ReplyDelete~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I lived "small town" for some years and heard this phrase repeatedly.
Always when the person who said it was losing an argument.
"You know I'd tell you just what I think about that, but there are children/ladies present"
Palin hadn't even BEGUN one with Grayson and she was speaking ABOUT him!
In her language (just like you hear on the playground)......lame
hiding behind Piper again?
ReplyDeletePiper Piper Piper Piper...Waaaaaaahh...leave my kids alone?
Leave your kid at HOME with a BOOK, you igonrant "moran".
I hope Grayson starts a trend by pointing out that the Empress "has no clothes" (no snark intended--she certainly DOES have clothes, but let's not go there).
ReplyDeleteSince Grayson has been getting some MSM attention lately, maybe some outlets will pick up on what he's saying. He's very quotable.
Alan Grayson gives me hope
ReplyDeletePiper is with her because Piper is still innocent enough to spill SECRETS if allowed to be around teachers/other parents/children. That has to be it in a nutshell.
ReplyDeleteMat-su District and Anchorage were on "spring" break last week. Of course, that doesn't explain all the other times Piper has been out of school.
ReplyDeleteHusky@8:36 am - Can we clarify the source? It's filled with Grayson quotes; was it written by a staffer? In other words, whose post is this?
ReplyDeleteI agree; it reads as IM composition, but it's cut and pasted from Grayson's website. It's good, either way, but hard to figure out where it came from.
Is there a reason that there are SarahPAC solicitations and Parnell For Governor ads on this page?
After Grayson's eloquent smackdown of $arah, I was happy to make a small donation to his campaign. If everyone who appreciated what he had to say about her did the same, it would be quite an impact. She should be happy that he praised her for finishing her speech rather than quitting before it was finished as she's been known to do. However, with $arah's word salad, can we really be sure she gave the whole speech? Not really but I guess we'll take Grayson's word for it. His word is far more reliable than Palin's.
ReplyDeleteI was reading something she said recently in one of her speeches about her having been a mayor, a city manager, oil & gas regulator, and governor. When was she a city manager? Or is she referring to her hiring of a city manager and taking credit for his work?
GRYPHEN OR ANYONE ELSE FROM ALASKA, can you tell me what she did in her post on the Oil & Gas commission? Was she qualified in any way whatsoever for the position? Was there any fuss made over her appointment? Thanks!!
gawd, how I'd love to smack the sh*t out of that bitch. I cannot STAND her.
ReplyDeleteHow did someone like Sarah Palin ever get elected to any office? Now she thinks she is a queen. Gawd!
ReplyDeleteI having been getting many tidbits about the VP wanna-be from blogs like Gryphen's. I grew up in Wisconsin and appreciate small town ideals...the true to heart and soul ones. I still can not understand the hold this person (SP) has on so many -- that former classmates, co-workers, neighbors, even some relatives have nothing to offer as to insight to this all. Why are people seemingly afraid to speak out? Even those from her past do not even gush about her as opposed to those in her contemporary circle. Is it fear? Apathy? Indifference? There can't be that much payoff cash in the world. How did this evolve into the hate/lie/cheat/divide machine we see today? I truly wish I could understand this dynamic of all that is Palin.
ReplyDeleteBueller...Bueller...????????
I do not know how smart you think he is but the following excerpt from a website that depicts his "intellect" should clarify the lack thereof.
ReplyDelete"Alan Grayson's recent self indulgent behavior has paralyzed his ability to serve as an advocate for the citizens of Central Florida. By asking Attorney General Eric Holder to fine and imprison Angie Langley for exercising her first amendment right to free political speech, Alan Grayson has sunk to an extremely alarming and potentially dangerous new low. It is clear that this man has no business representing the good people of Central Florida. Please join our effort and encourage others to do the same. This disgusting attempt to use the law enforcement arm of the federal government to silence his critics is proof positive that Alan Grayson is not only unfit for office, but that his behavior and approach is totally and utterly nuts."
The website is mycongressmanisnuts.com.
Anon @ 7:12,
ReplyDelete"I do not know how smart you think he is but the following excerpt from a website that depicts his "intellect" should clarify the lack thereof."
Your reasoning seems to be, "if you find it on the web, it MUST be true." Well, you've certainly made your case. QED.
I would have to assume that Piper is being home schooled since she's always on the road with the Queen Grifter.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine being home schooled by a mental midget like Palin? Well at least she probably has advance copies of the new Texas text books to work with. Can't teach complete BS to kids without phony Texas text books.
One quality Palin lacks, in addition to many others, is an appreciation and comprehension of irony. I'm quite sure Grayson's ironic comments went completely over her empty head.
ReplyDeleteHer affected "folksiness" grates on my nerves just like chalk scratching a blackboard. I hope that the next time she makes fun of Obama or any other politician for that matter, someone calls attention to all the comic relief she has provided in spite of wanting to be taken seriously.
