Republican who yelled "baby killer" at Democrat Bart Stupak identified!

Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) has come forward and admitted that he was the one who yelled "baby killer" during the House debate on the health care bill last night.

In his statement, Neugeubauer said that he meant to refer to the bill as "a baby killer," not Stupak himself. That said, he has apologized to Stupak.

It should be noted that in addition to the "baby killer" outburst, Neugebauer is also a sponsor of the so-called "Birther Bill," introduced by Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL), to require presidential candidates "to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution."  (Rest of the story can be found at Talking Points Memo)

So there you have it Republicans, the face of the GOP in 2010.  The only question is will this also be the future as well?  Or will the Republicans realize that they must adapt or die out?

  1. All I have to say to Rep. Randy is "you lie" when you claim that you said "its" a baby killer. You know d#@! well that you called Stupak a baby killer.

    Republican.
    Texas.

No basis in fact...but it does almost seem to follow that he might just be the biological daddy to any number of children that were never legally given the last name:

    Neugeubauer.

Hope somebody in Texas checks out that possibility...or makes some serious inquiries as to how many little zygotes carrying his DNA found their way to never never land...

...because he does protest too much...yup, my observations have proved to me that those men whose knees jerk so readily toward their own crotch at the mention of womens' uteruses (and what they may or may not contain at any given moment) may just be mentally revisiting their own shame.

It's amazing that he cares so passionately about the unborn, since he doesn't give a flying f**k about the living.

I think that guys like Neugebauer, the people who hurled racial insults at members of the Black Cacaus, the people who insulted Barney Frank, all of the squawking heads at Faux News and the tea baggers are doing the Democrats a terrific favor.

They are driving their party to the far far right and driving away moderate and independent voters. Chris Matthews pointed out a long time ago that most of the congressional districts are so politically drawn that they will re-elect the same extreme candidates as their representatives. There are always exceptions; NY23 comes to mind.

But, at some point someone in the GOP has to figure out that they can never win a presidential election when they only have the far right in their ranks and no one else. If Sarah Palin is any example of how this works, she drove moderate Republicans and independents to vote for Obama.

This legislator is another example of what is wrong with the political system. The sooner this pompus, narrow-minded, old gasbag leaves Washington, the better.

Rather than respecting the integrity of the instiution, or serving the needs of America, this POS seems more interested in notarity and getting re-elected.

I don't think they see any reason to adapt. And they don't think they'll die out. They think the American people agree with them. They imagine they are going to take back the House and the Senate in November. It would take double-digit loss of seats in the House for them to reflect even briefly that they may not be the voice of the American people after all.

  9. So . . . .

We have teabaggers calling congressman ni**ers and fa**ots and spitting on them and GOP congressmen cheering on the bad behavior. We have a Republican congressman from SC screaming "liar"at the President, a Republican Lt. Governor in SC saying the poor should be starved. We have a conservative Supreme Court Justice whining at the President at the State of the Union. We have a Texas congressman screaming out "baby killer" at a Democratic congressman. We have Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin--the Furies of the idiot set -- screaming about overthrowing the government, not filling out the Census because of internment camps and how Obama wants to kill their senile parents and disabled children. Rep. Steve King thinks plane flying terrorists are cool--as long as they're white. Boehner is orange and drunk, McConnell is chinless and weak, Demint is a Klansman, Eric Cantor is an idiot and Michael Steele should be ashamed of himself for buck dancing to the GOP's beat. And let's not forget Governor good hair Perry from Texas who wants to secede from the union. . . . .

Ladies and Gentlemen, your modern Republican Party.

Any member of Congress who so vilely disrespects the institution to which they were elected should be issued a giant cork on a string (red or blue, by party). Require them to wear it around the neck when in chamber for the remainder of their term as a claim to shame for lack of decorum. May they be forever reminded to PUT A CORK IN IT.

  12. Gosh, my head is still spinning (could it be too much champagne consumed last night?!). Hopefully, this liar will be thrown out of office in November. And no, you fat, ignorant, close-minded bastard, no one believes you so sit down and STFU.

I think David Frum, former speechwriter for Dubyah summarizes the Party of Nope as well as anyone can. From HuffPo today:

"I’ve been on a soapbox for months now about the harm that our overheated talk is doing to us. Yes it mobilizes supporters – but by mobilizing them with hysterical accusations and pseudo-information, overheated talk has made it impossible for representatives to represent and elected leaders to lead. The real leaders are on TV and radio, and they have very different imperatives from people in government. Talk radio thrives on confrontation and recrimination. When Rush Limbaugh said that he wanted President Obama to fail, he was intelligently explaining his own interests. What he omitted to say – but what is equally true – is that he also wants Republicans to fail. If Republicans succeed – if they govern successfully in office and negotiate attractive compromises out of office – Rush’s listeners get less angry. And if they are less angry, they listen to the radio less, and hear fewer ads for Sleepnumber beds.
So today’s defeat for free-market economics and Republican values is a huge win for the conservative entertainment industry. Their listeners and viewers will now be even more enraged, even more frustrated, even more disappointed in everybody except the responsibility-free talkers on television and radio. For them, it’s mission accomplished. For the cause they purport to represent, it’s Waterloo all right: ours." Read the whole article; it's excellent.

  15. “It took him long enough to come up with this story...............B.S.

There were many reporters there and if he would have shouted "it's" a baby killer, they would have heard it.

Brianna Keilar from CNN, reported that the shock was from just how loudly the words were shouted.

Then he would not come forward and as reported, his fellow republicans admitted they knew who it was, they were standing right beside him, but would not say who it was.

So Rep. Neugebauer (R-TX) is a typical rethuglian....................LIAR

But we do NOT know for sure WHO said this...since it took a full day to concoct this we simply can't be sure.

I wonder how Neugebauer feels about retrograde abortion.... many feel his type are good candidates for it.

Let's do our part to elect Neugebauer and his class of inbreds back to private life.... to bad this type reproduces frequently.
