Since the Tonight Show demonstrated how helpful it is to Sarah Palin to add a laughtrack we wondered if it might have helped in past media appearances

Wow! You know that DOES make it much more entertaining!

So I guess all of this time Palin was doing a comedy bit and we just didn't get it. But now with the addition of the laugh track the whole thing makes sense!

For every YouTube segment containing this scum bucket, a laugh track needs to be substituted instead of her actual word salad. Maybe then they'd be easier to listen to.

  2. This is funny.

Gryphen, are you investigating if it is true some gossip rag or troublemker fabricated the Oscar gift suite story? It is possible yet on the other hand it is possible Palin demanded a retraction of truth lol.

Hmmmmm. She's getting so damned much PRESS for this. POSITIVE press. If they are enhancing her sshtick with laugh tracks, they are PROMOTING her.

I'm wondering why Alaska blogs aren't all over her "griftiness" coming to the fore in all it's glory with her vulture like activities at the Oscar gift shop. Class was bred into that woman's bones.

Seriously, Gryph, you need to post the pic of her in her Oscar Grifter outfit next to Andrea Martin's SCTV "Edith Prickley" character. The similarity is AMAZING...especially if you remember the character....

Please point out in the Leno video, specific times please, where these laugh tracks were added.

I AM an audio engineer, I HAVE a controlled listening environment and I don't hear it.

    You're delusional dude.

I find the Daily Kos article very believable. I grew up with the sitcom laugh tracks. It always grated on my nerves even as a child. Sarah grates on my nerves: her high pitched screech, her garbled syntax, her repetitive talking points, her lies. It is only right that they treat her as a sitcom and add a laugh track. She is a living breathing sitcom. Keep her in comedy and out of our political life.

Well now with a laugh track added at least I'm hearing laughter other than my own. I've been laughing at her for years.

My husband the other day though, said if he were FORCED to choose between listening to and looking at Romney or Palin for an hour, he'd have to choose Palin. His objection to her voice is the pitch of it; the TONE of it. My objection is her propensity to talk "baby talk." She DISTORTS her words in order to appear "cute." That's what adolescent girls do, and not too bright high-schoolers. "Look at me; see how adorable I am?" C-R-R-E-E-P-Y!!!!

  12. Not to excuse Palin regarding her Tonight Show appearance, but my guess is that they add laugh tracks, edit out awkward moments, and censor unwanted audience noises all the time on these shows--anything that detracts from the general mood of celebrity fun and frivolity.

Who knew that Al Franken would leave comedy and become a great and serious senator, while Sarah Palin is really a COMEDIAN!

Gryphen - so what's the scoop on Willow? Is she grifting with Her Majesty in LA, or is she partying hardy at home in Wasilla?

Palin's Couric interview, where Americans (and many many Alaskans) were first introduced to this novice politician is a scene from a horror docu-drama, it should have primal screams of lucid terror in the background, not a laugh track.

This woman, this End of Day'er, this door plowing low brow high leg simpleton wanted to rule the world.

Now she'll settle for entertaining us, to bring home the bacon, which is much more lucrative than the moose. Whew!

The Oscar gifting suite must be such a relief from all those handmade Americana Jesus crap and cropped photo's of Sarah's iconic images.

No more Super 8 and crochet buttercup tops for incognito Sarah (whose biggest fear was to be average) it's the Beverly Wilshire hotel and celebrity treatment forever baby!

Thanks for the memories! A 45 year old "experienced executive" who puts on such a pathetic performance answering truly sad elementary questions should be laughed off the political stage. There is NO amount of tutoring that will change what ails Palin: it's teh Stupid. I don't care how many daily briefings she gets or how much she pays the latest group of sell-outs. How anyone can watch that tape and not admit she isn't qualified to even blather on Faux.. well, there's a pill for that at least.

  19. To answer Anonymous 8:47. it appears that Willow did go with Palin to LA. There is indeed a scandal that is percolating up here, and perhaps that is why Sarah took her middle daughter out of school days before Spring Break which started just today.

Sarah does not seem to place a lot of importance on school attendance and instead teaches her children that dressing up and making public appearances is much more important than getting an education.

I'm with you, I grew up watching the sitcoms with soundtrack laughter and hate it to this day.
Can pick it out in a heartbeat. I had listened to clips of the Leno video several times and they were dubbing in identical tracks of laughter. I was thrilled to read Stinson's article.

The first clue a show has laughter added is when the line wasn't funny but the audience is rolling in the floor. For instance, what exactly is funny about "forgetting to feed the children..moose stew"? For that matter what's funny about moose stew? What's funny about her line that she "wouldn't know what to do with all the free time if she were VP"? We're supposed to laugh because an low IQ, empty-brained twit makes fun of VP ? Her lines weren't funny. What IS funny is that she thinks she's cute - at forty-effing-six, she thinks she's a seductress. Now that IS funny.

Love it! Wish Fox News would add in the canned laughter everytime she answers a question as "contributor". Actually, the interview outside her house last week with laughter add-on would be hilarious.

You do realize that the reason Sarah did the comedy routine was to prove to Andrea Friedman that Sarah does too have a sense of humor. Sarah responds to any and all perceived slights. But her reaction was a bit late. I'd say her timing is off.

@Anon8:27 It was Willow at the gift suite. She is a lot shorter than Sarah, while Bristol is slightly taller than Sarah.

O/T. Article in HuffPo about Cheney's daughter and their org, "Keep America Safe", discusses how they have browbeaten the DOJ into releasing names of lawyers of Gitmo detainees. What's the next step? Go after the lawyers?

Sounds familiar. Who is Palin and her groupies getting their advice from? The Cheney, Keep American Safe camp. Could be. Palin has mentioned phones calls to him.
This group and others are a real danger to this country and for the outrageious behavior they are promoting.

The article mentions that conservative bloggers are turning against this kind of polarization/discussion. This needs to be brought out more.

I agree....my daughter has a friend who speaks this way, and I can barely stand to listen to her.

oh, yeah, and she's 15....which appears to be about the same age where Sarah's emotional growth stopped.

  30. First, the video is very funny. Second, there are people who think that she should be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. I am having a hard time getting my head around this. Did I branch off into an alternate reality or was I living in it all along?

The LA Times is now running a story in their "Ministry of Gossip" section that is quoting the alleged Silver Spoon pdf. However, the only AP story I can find is one that several news outlets ran in which a spokesman for Silver Spoon (Russo) did give quotes for the story, although not as detrimental as the gossip sites. The AP is not carrying this supposed demand for a retraction. Has anyone inquired with Silver Spoon as to whether they released it? I would love to know if it was a sea of urine/Palin creation...

  33. I also e-mailed ALL of the available contacts over at Silver Spoon. So far I have heard nothing.

Though I DID receive an e-mail from a very helpful person who claimed that SHE had received an e-mail answer which confirmed that the letter was indeed written by Silver Spoon co-founder Melissa Lemer. However until I personally receive an e-mail answer from Silver Spoons, they post the letter on their site, or the AP confirms that the letter actually came from them, I am not going to post it on this blog.

Watching this video, I feel very very sorry for Palin, but since she is trying to become a person of influence who incites violence, she must be stopped. If you told a 2 year year old they were running for president and taught them for a week, you'd have Sarah Palin running for Vice President of the United States of America. Gawd!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I read the "Silver Spoon" email yesterday and don't remember much of the details, but didn't they claim they deserve an apology?

I'm not sure what they think people should apologize to them for- did they do something bad? "We're so sorry, we believe you were NICE to Sarah Palin."
    What wrong was done them?

The logical thing for Willow to do is get pregnant. After all, being an unwed teenage mother has brought Bristol fame and fortune. Willow can follow in big sister's footsteps and star in a reality tv show too.

    Bree Palin GONE??

I do not understand, Sam I Am.

Helen of NailinPalinNow took a sabbatical, but she kept her website and her archives up.

BP was central to the silver bullet take down of Sister Sarah. . .and now her website is. . .GONE??

Don't slap mud over this hut, this hurts, and it is a betrayal. .and I LOVE that site. . .still it is a betrayal as that site would be nothing without the energy and dedication of the posters.

I entirely do not get this. I am damnslapped.
