My friend John Arronno has the skinny over at the Alaska Commons.
Make no mistake, just because Clary now attends Changepoint church instead of the Anchorage Baptist Temple (Yeah, like that is a big difference!) he is still part of Jerry Prevo's movement to take over Alaska politics and to make sure that "God's law" takes precedence over "man's law".
You an read more about this guy over at Bent Alaska.
>takes precedent
ReplyDelete"takes precendence" is what you want here.
Just being picky because I want you to look your best. : ) Turn around, let me pick lint off the back of your jacket (just joking!).
Andy said he hasn't been a member of abt in years, yet you believe there's a valid connection? why?
ReplyDeleteIs the occupation of this man's father relevant in any way? If so, why?
Andy doesn't go to abt and prevo is not andy's pastor.
So why are there so many bloggers attempting to create this faux connection between andy and prevo?
Gryphen, do you think this Clary has a chance?
ReplyDeletePoor Alaska - given your population, I think you have been more than your fair share of kooks and nutcases, crooks and the power-mad.
Thanks Julie, fixed it. I should have paid less attention to the girls while going to school, and more attention to my teacher.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 9:23, I realize that he is not gong to Prevo's church anymore but he WAS raised by Prevo's number two man at ABT and attends Changepoint which is essentially ABT-lite. Prevo trains these young men to go out into politics to protect his church and make sure the gays don't get their rights.
If Clary comes out for gay rights and a woman's right to choose I will completely change my opinion.
And yes Anonymous 9:35, he definitely has a chance. I just heard Dick Traini's radio spot today and it comes off almost as a spoof instead of a serious ad. Absolutely horrible.
Wasn't it the teabaggers who attempted to dismiss obama on the bases of his prior church he attended for 20 years? How is this any different?
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Changepoint is not ABT-lite. Changepoint is the largest church in Alaska. Even the gov is a member.
Anonymous: Changepoint can be the largest church in the world, for all I care. It refuses leadership roles to women and continues to wield offensive views about homosexuals. Just because something is large doesn't define it as correct. And Parnell's Dominionist appointee to the Dept. of Fish and Game should worry the hell out of all of us. I support religious institutions that seek to aid the community, not adopt regressive policies towards others in society.
