I cannot yet locate the MSNBC video of Palin's interview outside of the courthouse but here is WBIR's.

Here is the MSNBC video with better angle and better sound.

By the way, the defense has NOT cross examined any of the prosecution witnesses yet.

Yes, sarah, there are consequences and karma has your fair share coming soon.

  5. ugh

The hypocrisy in this is astounding. Didn't she just have Willow get out of any kind of consequences for actual property damage, while she's pursuing this kid for something far, far, FAR less destructive to face up to 50 years in jail?

    WHAT THE HECK!?

Amazing that she's will to have a press conference on this topic but none other. Victim, boo fin hoo. Get over it.

  7. This kid is going to be railroaded I can see it now. While her teens got away with at least one crime we know of. The poor victim who leaves her children more times in a year then I probably have in a lifetime. What is up with the Governor title?!

I guess having your email looked at is a lot worse than seeing a school bus without breaks crashing with little kids bodies thrown all over the snow covered road. How about walking into your house only to be confronted with drunk drugged up kids?

Yes Sarah, you and Bristol are the true victims! Damn other people's kids!

    ReplyDelete
  9. So I guess that means the whole Palin clan will need to return for the cross examination. I certainly hope the defense is reading their emails. If I understand it right, these crazy tales are meant to show harm and distress to the Palin's by the defendant. I certainly hope that their statements are going to be questioned and facts will be presented to show they are lying.

Yes what the kid did was wrong, but I don't think he should be the scapegoat for all the Palin rumors that came before.

Yes, it is terrible when someone accesses the contents of someone elses computer, e-mail account, etc., especially when it involves politics. I'm sure that Randy Ruedrich would agree that he did not like it when Sarah did it to him. bt

Mama Palin: As a loving mother, and as a christian woman, you of all people should show mercy, forgiveness, which is your due. Another mother's child may face years in prison. Many kids do things that they later regret. Hasn't this kid been through enough torment waiting for this trial all these months and not knowing his fate?

Why couldn't you show this young man some compassion, maybe he could do some community service, and very likely he'd never do that again.

Our words either curse or bless. SP's words on the steps of that courthouse showed she has disdain, cold, snake-like enjoyment of anyone caught and instead of downplaying the e-mail exposure, she embellishes the drama, at the expense of another boy, same age as her kids. No wonder Wasilla is afraid of her. Please God don't let her continue in this charade.

I don't understand why they aren't cross examined at the time. Isn't that standard procedure, to immediately ask questions of what they have just said? All these people are supposed to fly back to be cross examined at a later time - when what they said is not fresh in everyone's mind? Can a lawyer please explain? Is this how Tennessee does it? Guess I watched too much Perry Mason as a kid, but it doesn't seem right to me.

  14. Hey, Gryph - The Knoxville News reported some cross-examination of Bristol yesterday.

"But defense attorney Wade Davies was quick to try to show via cross-examination that Kernell did not make any of those calls or send any of those e-mails nor did he encourage others to do so."

  15. What's particularly appalling, is that in Going
Rouge, Private Citizen Palin has the nerve to equate someone hacking into her e-mail account (because she had a ridiculously easy password to guess) with the burglary of the DNC offices at the Watergate hotel.

I also found it particularly interesting that Private Citizen Palin also expressed concerns about how the e-mail account had pictures of Trig, and that she was worried, because pictures of Trig had been "photoshopped" and were floating around the "blogosphere."

Talk about "Things That Make You Say 'Hmmmmm'."

When I watched this on tv...IT HAS PLAYED OVER AND OVER AGAIN...I could not help but wonder how much she was embelishing the true story AND WHAT LAWYER WAS LETTING HER SPEAK ABOUT A TRAIL IN PROGRESS. Sounds like the defense attorney just hit a big wind-fall.

  20. Sarah Palin: the world's greatest victim. I have said it before but I will say it again, just when I think she cannot sink any lower as a person, she proves me wrong every time. This woman is so far beyond disgusting. And yes anon at 10:14am she is incapable of showing any mercy or empathy to anyone. A cold snake is exactly what she is. And let's see where that "distorted pic of Trig" is heading. Can you say Eargate? Yep, the bitch is floating a lot of shit here.

  22. Yeah, it's a real shame that the yahoo account exposed photos of the Palin children to the world...because Palin was SOOOO careful not to have any photos of her little ones in her official SOA photo gallery or the one at the ADN.

Even Sarah's biggest fans can see through this bullshit. Maybe, the media is helping her out with the charade because they want to eventually see her fall farther.

    ReplyDelete
  23. To the previous poster you said: Why couldn't you show this young man some compassion, maybe he could do some community service, and very likely he'd never do that again.

I think Sarah lacks compassion. Something is missing within her. I volunteer at a shelter. We had a young man who called in a fire threat. Not a wise thing to do but he made a mistake and after talking with him a good kid otherwise. He was sentenced to community work and yeah we gave him the crappy jobs to teach him a lesson. But in no way would I want that teenager to go to prison even though a fire threat is scary. He was really sorry for it and he was amazing with all the dogs there. He truly had a gift to reach the dogs who were damaged by abuse. I feel that his mistake handled correctly lead to a greater gift then to punish him with prison.

I woke up this morning thinking of Meg Stapleton and Frank Bailey; Palin insiders getting paid off for not writing books or speaking up. However, it was crystal clear in my thoughts that it wasn't by Palin. Maybe Murdock, via his Iranian contacts. Am I going nutz? She is the covergirl for power moguls bringing down our country. Oh well, I hope better thoughts replace these soon.

What is seems like to me is that people who have never dealt with anything on the Federal level spouting sentences and fines without ever reading or hearing of Federal Sentencing Guidelines. For this boy to get 50 years (600 months), isn't even possible. There is no way they would stack the counts and add to each sentence. All will be run in concurrence. The maximum sentence is 360 months or life. There is no possible way for anyone to get this kind of sentence for a first time non violent not drug crime.

I went through all the sentencing possibilities and would be willing to bet that this boy will receive 18 months (max), the fine is relative (no set amount) to what the Judge sets up to 250,000 per count. The Judge can take and break the sentencing to some jail, some halfway house, some home confinement. His discretion. If a Federal Judge goes out of sentencing line, then the case would go to Appeals Courts. What it breaks down to is the boy isn't going to do long time. I'll stick with my bet, since Federal Judges normally won't exceed guidelines, because they don't want to be checked on themselves.

Good freaking grief! That woman is an abomination!

She IS GW Bush in a skirt - same limited intelligence, lack of compassion, and self-absorbed smirk. Gosh, her expressions were so smug it was truly disgusting when you think some poor kid is in that courtroom fighting for his life (50 years is probably what she is hoping he gets. She could at least have expressed some sympathy for his parents! But now, it's not in her to do so. She is beyond creepy.)

That kid does not deserve prison time - particularly not 50 years! She should condemn his actions and then ask for leniency. That woman is not a Christian in any way, shape or form. Again, I say - an abomination!!

However - one saving grace to that interview: it revealed that she is beginning to look like Tammy Faye Baker -- that makeup is being troweled on. Her eyes are becoming cartoonish.

Her cruelty is going to eat her up. The sooner the better - I have never, ever said anything like that about another human being, but she is simply - I state it again - an abomination!!!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Yes, he has, Gryph:

Defense attorney Wade Davies asked Palin why she had protected the account with easily guessed answers to security questions, such as where her husband went to high school.

"There was no reason to keep that a secret," she said.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous11:15 AM

Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder if Davies knows who he's dealing with in this trial, as far as the Palins are concerned.

His cross-examination is over for $P, BP and Ivy Frye, for all intents and purposes. Do we know what witnesses he will call? His witness list (along with rebuttal witnesses) has already been turned over the court, and unless he is allowed to add someone else, what we see next week is what we'll get.

It seems to me that he's simply trying to mitigate the charges against Kernell (maybe having them reduced to misdemeanors), and I'm wondering if a "plea deal" is in the works already.

  42. I cannot believe she can stand there and play victim, spouting lies about the actual damage this did to her and the presidential election. While I'm sure it was disruptive, it wasn't as though Bristol was stuck in the middle of nowhere without access to the outside world. Doesn't Wasilla have a Walmart? I'm certain they sell cell phones.
When you compare the "crime" this kid did by accessing her yahoo account with the actual crime her daughter did by breaking & entering and vandalizing property to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars, it's galling that she seems to want this kid to rot in jail.
It's so typical that this family expects one set of laws for them and one set for everyone else.
    What a spiteful, vindictive hag!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anonymous11:38 AM

Update from MSN: The current story is that the Palins did not have a land line because Wasilla was so remote.

Comments on something not related to Palin BUT actually important: Arizona's anti-immigrant law.

Arizona is planning the Obama administration for the problems of illegal immigrants in Arizona.

This is nothing more then a flimsey ungrounded attempt by Arizona republicans to discredit Obama administration and blame the Obama administration for Arizona lwas that violate the constitution. And to cover the basic racism demonstrated by the proposed law allowing police to stop and question anyone that looks suspecious...i.e. brown.

Someone mentioned on another blog that Sarah brought up the Trig rumors as a way to later say she proved in a court of law that she gave birth to him. I can totally see her doing that, much in the same way she lied in an interview about having shown his birth certificate. Funny, no one can track down where this BC is or who it was shown to.

Also, I'm curious too about the comment about the 'hacked' emails being the impetus for the Trig birth controversy. What was in those emails exactly that makes her think this? I remember hearing those rumors that Bristol was Trig's mother shortly after SP was nominated in August -- Then suddenly her daughter was 'about five months' pregnant (see! she can't be the mom!) and the matter was swept under the rug...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous11:52 AM

According to WBIR.com/Knoxville TN, SP entered the courthouse through a side door under a shroud of secrecy, only to exit the court through the front doors, where local, regional, and national media cameras were waiting. Isn't she the cat's pyjamas?

Considering her wanting to pander to the conservative Tennesseeans sympathy, she didn't look at all upset about the distressing invasion, rather was smiling and jokey about the National Enquirer's rumors. No thought or care about the guy who has serious allegations against him. Her pathetic glib attitude shows though, anyone can see it.

The claim that Trig was only 14-16 weeks old during this period made me blink as well. There are 123 days in May, June, July and August. That's almost 18 weeks. then there's the 12 days in April and the 18 days in September September - another 3 weeks to add onto that.

So Sarah has mistaken her 5 month (21-22 wk) old child for a 3 and a half to 4 month old?

OK - so I am not a lawyer but I have watched enough Court TV to believe that all or most of the above named witnesses for the prosecution are on the defense witness list. I think that certain things that were attested to under oath - now that they are on the record via SP and BP - and because they brought them up - can now be brought up by the defense in order to impeach their testimony. Oh, let's see - how about where the Palin House is actually located in relation to the deep dark skeery woods and how poor BP was all alone and how there were no land lines in the house or at Chuckie's and how there might have been talk of an affair in the e-mails as well as a suggestion that Baby Trig wasn't SP's and how outrageous it is to break into someone's e-mail and that bad National Enquirer outing BP's pregnancy...well I know there are more items of interest but you get the idea...

What if a marital affair were true, or any of the other supposed rumors SP mentioned today were true. And, what if someone came out of the woodwork and claimed they were true, for instance, a family member or participant in the alleged affair. It would be feasible for that person to come out now and challenge her statements. Kernell's defense team would be able to bring that evidence forward.

It would seem she is provoking or daring someone to come forward.

I am a lawyer. There are times when keeping someone on the stand for cross is a bad thing. In this case, getting rid of the celebrities ASAP is more important than trying to impeach them. Their testimony, lies or not, is not that damaging. It is being done for drama. The defense lawyer wants to put the drama out the door and deal with the law.

Much as we would like it to be a trial of Sarah, that ain't gonna happen.

It seems to me that Sarah is acting this way because she thinks that she did well. And that she got away with her lies and vindictiveness. I don't think that the defense is interested in proving perjury per se. The defense will probably try to prove that it was a "mistake" and a "prank" but not a case of hacking. The interesting thing will be to show that there was no actual harm. All those incidents she and Little Sarah Palin (Bristol) brought up will need to be dissected and shown just where, when and how the rumors or the incidents actually came about and that they in no way can be tied into what the kid did or what the two Palins testified to. She did not have to bring up the story of Trig or the affair. She did so and has now opened the door for the defense. I still believe in a loving God. And I pray that he loves his followers enough to open a door for Palin, shove her through it, and like any parent disciplining an out of control child would do, give it a major TIME OUT. Besides, Sarah herself said her password was no big deal and nothing to hide. That to me is also a mitigating factor.

Carrie, there was an article written not too long ago about a statement from the Murdoch children that they and his current wife are embarassed by Fox news. It ran in Europe. It was their first step in taking out Ailes. Murdoch and Ailes fight a lot apparently. I hate Murdoch, but from what I read, he loves his family. He is a aged man who wanted his children to carry on his legacy. Of the three older kids, only one works for him. I worked in a senior center for many years, in the end, no matter how evil the man, family trumps all. In the end, what is more important, a business or an egomaniac's legacy? His children are more liberal/progressive. There's hope.

She probably believed she could be rolled out as a divine mother of a perfect family, holier than Thou and no one notice the unwed teen or that her kids don't go to school very often.

Punishments do not fit the crime (hacking, embarassment for some and expense of time and money to change accounts) to position this kid for 50 year sentence by pathalogical personalities. No, consequences are for other people like when she lies seeing to it others are villified as liars and to be punished.

    When was her email hacked?

She would love it if he could life in prison. Why should they limit it to only 50 years? She is a fucking joke. There are rapists who get less than 50 years. What is worse hacking into a email account or breaking into someones house having a party with lots of booze and sex. Then later they steal computers and destroyed property. Now I think maybe her daughter should be in jail. Did she try and suggest that she and McInsane lost the election because her emails where hacked?

What are we going to do if Sarah releases the medical information and Trig's b/c to the media?

The e-mail from the SOA, Benefits Div., dated May 21, 2008, tells us that she and Dr. CBJ, submitted the invoices for Trig's care to the state for payment.

If I interpreted this e-mail correctly, all the billings for care (including pre-natal, tests,
ultrasounds, etc.)for Trig, were invoiced using her name and insurance information.

How else could she get the State of Alaska to pay for this?
