From USA Today:
It will include "selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her," according to HarperCollins, along with "the nation's founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies."
So essentially this is an entire book filled with things Sarah has watched, heard, read, or seen written on a bumper sticker. And of course everything in the book will be geared toward making her appear to be a super duper patriot, who does not believe in big government, paying taxes, complicated science, or black people running the country.
The book is inspired not only by her "strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism," but by some of the people she met last year while promoting Going Rogue. Palin skipped major cities such as Seattle and Los Angeles, traditional stops on most author tours, and instead focused on smaller communities more receptive to her conservative message.
Yeah smaller communities. You know communities without any of those intellectually elitist colleges nearby and that don't get any other cable news channels except FOX News and QVC. Because apparently if they are too educated they won't buy her damn book! Imagine that!
Well at least with a book full of words written by other authors Sarah won't have to resort to using a ghostw....wait was that?
As with Going Rogue, Palin will have a collaborator, but there are "no specifics to announce yet," Andreadis said. Conservative author Lynn Vincent worked with Palin on her memoir.
Are you kidding me? Does this woman do NONE of her own work? I mean she barely did her job as governor of Alaska, has somebody else ghostwrite her Facebook posts, makes Bristol and Todd do all of the parenting, and cannot even cut and paste passages written by other people into her own book? Why in the world does ANYBODY even listen to this woman?

Wow. All that using other people's stuff, HC better have a very experienced copyright lawyer working with her and/or her writer, and a big staff of people getting permissions. I mean, it's coming out Nov. 23rd? Got to be to press by (I'm guessing) Oct. 30th. Final proofs due mid-Oct. It's nearly mid-May now, that's .... 5 months from a non-written 'idea' in her head to written, proofread, copyright-cleared, fact-checked (oh, who am I kidding?) .... still. Really? Really Sarah? No, Gryphen sociopaths never run out of lies. There are a lot of good books written by conservatives that are informative and descriptive of why they think the way they do. I can read some of them, even if I disagree with a lot of their views. Palin's books are designed to manipulate a group of mindless and heartless people to support her. They cannot reconcile themselves to a country that is increasingly complex, multi-racial, technically savvy, and less insular, as everything that happens has a global effect. People who gravitate to her are the ones most likely to vote against their own best interests, because they either are unable or unwilling to connect the dots from past to present. Their inability to connect these dots prevents them from seeing that the political philosophy espoused by Palin and her ilk is not designed to benefit the country as a whole, but only to return far right figures to power. Many of them in states like Louisiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia continue to suffer because they continue to elect and re-elect politicians who couldn't care less about them.

Judging by what we hear about her family, she is far from being a successful mother. She has clout only among those who fall for her okey-doke. If she did decide to run for a political office, she would have to take a huge pay cut and be held accountable for everything she says and does. She would also have to provide actual solutions to problems, not the canned GOP talking points. And as for there being a God, someone who professes to be a Christian but does not show Christ-like behavior is the last person to cite when speaking of God's blessings. No amount of money makes her appealing either as a person or a politician.

That's a lot of books. Publishers Weekly said she sold 2.67 million copies between the release date on Nov 19 and Dec 31, making it the #1 nonfiction title for the year and #2 among all books, second only to Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code sequel. Just under 2.7 million in 7 weeks and one would think it sold some more after New Years so the total is likely over 3 million.
Obama has written 2 books but combined numbers are well below this. Hillary's book sold well but not at this level. The only political autobiography that is close is Bill Clinton's.
"But thousands were given away...." Not exactly - a magazine company or PAC may have given them away but the publisher got paid.

Total revenue in the period rose 25%, to $381 million, and operating profits jumped to $65 million from $23 million. Comparisons were helped by the fact that the fourth quarter in calendar 2008 was one of the worst at HC in several years, with revenue falling 25% and profits plunging 66%. If not, it would be an easy way to catch her in her lies, just ask her about sections in the book that she allegedly likes and ask her to compare one book to another, an in-depth comparison. It will be impossible for her to do it. Look at the mistake she made with John Wooden vs. John Woodenlegs! Yet, nobody really called her on it. In fact, she even repeated it after it was brought to light.
