It looks like Sadie has gone through the dozens of questions she received over the weekend and has started to provide answers to things that many people have wondered about for almost two years.
Hopefully this will finally give Mercede the chance to clear her name and defend her family against the numerous insinuations and outright lies that have been told about them in magazines and on the internet.
I certainly hope that those of you visiting from this blog will bring your good manners and let her see that most people are supportive and thankful for what she is doing to clear up the many mysteries surrounding the Palin and the Johnston families.
Good for her. I hope she is successful in the effort and that she doesn't get too discouraged by negative comments or opinions. Those are the risks someone takes when they put themselves 'out there' to the world.

If she wants to answer questions she has a right but she needs to also understand people's expectations of her are way off base. She should start informing people she isn't the one that created this mess - the Palin's are.

During the five month period where Bristol was out of school due to “mono” did I see her?
Yes, I did. I saw her quite a few times, she would come over and hangout in Levi’s room with him. Whenever she would come over she would go straight into his room and would never really engage in conversation with any of us, or have dinner with us. Even if Levi came up and joined us, she would remain downstairs. There was also the time when we all went on a double date to the movies, (Levi with Bristol and me with my boyfriend Crosby) and I was very excited but Bristol barely spoke a word the whole night.
Soapydog you DID see that the word mono was in quotations marks right? Sadie was asked if she saw Bristol during the time that she supposedly had mono and she answered that question honestly.

However the real question is whether Bristol appeared pregnant during the time she lived in Anchorage with Sarah's sister Heather and according to Mercede and Sherry NO she did not.
And by the way I have two other sources that have told me the exact same thing.
Frankly, I am enjoying how Mercedes is answering questions and talking about her life. There is a soul about it all.

ReplyDeletePlease note everyone: The "mono" story was never confirmed. The way I understand it, some of her school mates in Anchorage "heard" she had mono (as the reason Bristol missed months of school).

Weird that Bristol dropped out of school then.
My opinion (and mine only) is that Bristol did not feel well (morning sickness?) and was depressed (unfriendly to the Johnstons).
Bristol could have disguised her preganancy when Sadie saw her (big sweatshirts, coats, etc.).
I honestly think Mercede is doing the best she can - if Bristol was pg, Sadie did not notice.
OR by the time Sadie saw Bristol, Trig may have been born and in the NCIU (I think Trig was born way before April 2008).
JMO.
Bristol didn't talk because it made other people uncomfortable and kept Bristol in control. She didn't like Levi's family because her mom was the guv and she wanted everyone else to be hicks.

It is interesting to me to just sit and read Mercede's answers....from a young woman. Most of us are from different generations... We need to know how she interprets things and shut up and let her finish! ...but dang people keep piling on questions.

So, Gryphen, are you saying that Trig is neither Sarah's nor Bristol's? When I examine the timeline on my blog, I can certainly buy that as a possibility. Bristol tried a couple of months in high school in Juneau. She decided she did not like it there and she missed seeing Levi. Her parents refused to let her stay by herself in Wasilla, especially since Track has just joined the army, but they allow her to live with her Aunt Heather and go to school in Anchorage, where she can be at least decently close to Levi. The Johnstons and others certainly seem to have added credence to this version of the story.

Ditto to what was said above, beccause I was thinking the same thing. It would be the simplest thing in the world for Mercede to give the dates that Bristol was sent to Anchorage. Not the season or the year...the DATES. And she is extremely well-connected to a ton of kids up there. She knows people who go to West. Why not get one of those people to confirm to you, G, that she was there, and seen in class, and when? She's obviously been a source of yours for quite some time. Unless that gets answered, I call BS. Not on everything that she is saying, but if there is no answer forthcoming, I would like to know why. Because she really doesn't know (and then how credible is she)? Or because she doesn't want to answer.

ReplyDeleteSoapy Dog: If possible please put the Bristol situation aside. Mono is not like leprosy that a sick person must isolate their self. People can have mono or any other illness in degrees of severity. Contagious diseases are specific for how they are transmitted. People who have mono may not work or stay in school due to the extreme fatigue, symptoms of illness not due to being contagious. Infectious diseases that are spread through the air require isolation or people near them wear a special mask. Mono is spread through direct contact via saliva.

YEs, they have been deprived access to a blood relation (no different from thousands of families). I would kill to see my nieces/nephews, aunts, uncles more - but they live in a different state. That is life. at least theyve seen him. The majority of people in this country and world have no idea who MErcede or her mother is, nor care. They only know Levi because he's a publicity whore. The only reason Bristol et al continue to do pr stunts is to combat Levi's atrocious behavior. If he wouldve kept the custody hearings private, the country wouldnt care about them nor harass them.

It sounds like Bristol is just shy - she appears to have followed her mothers identical path. same looks, same demeanor, same hobbies, same high school boyfriend type, same crush types, has a penchant for wanting more. I don't discredit her for being bashful and untalkative. I Was the same way through 9th grade. Some people dont outgrow that until college or after. Look at them at the RNC. There was great dichotomy between her demeanor and say Willows or Pipers. theyre just different people with different personalities.

I feel for the Johnston's and their problems but I think it's a mistake to take every word that Mercedes says as gospel. They all have a stake in this story and truth suffers. Mercede and Levi are neither saints nor demons. None of us ever really knows what goes on with other people and in this case it's important to take everything with a grain of salt. By setting Mercede up on a pedestal we are doing her a disservice. I do salute her attempt to put some of the truth out there. I would admire her more if she put out some of the truth which does not serve her own and her family's self interest.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Bristol had mono- that was never confirmed that I saw. And while Mercede said that Bristol wasn't pregnant, clearly the Trig pregnancy (whosever it was) is a huge secret. I've always said I don't really care whose pregnancy it was, but I knew it wasn't Sarah's! I just can't see Sarah exerting herself for anyone but her family. And I've always thought the Sherry imprisonment was a threat to the family. Mercede, like it or not, may be coerced into covering for Sarah in order for Levi to have any access to his child. I'm hoping somebody there had the brains to take a few hairs from Trig and get a DNA check. Just to be on the safe side.

Can we say that there never was an official statement about mononucleosis? As far as public knowledge goes there was never a medical assessment of Bristol Palin's health during that time period. The whole "mono" thing came from rumors, does anyone know where that started? I can't say why anyone is using "mono" in parentheses. Since it comes from rumor, that is appropriate. Mercede is not a doctor and I am not clear if she heard what rumor when.
ReplyDeleteBristol likes Anchorage, that is where she wants to live. Her friends in Anchorage probably mean a great deal to her and she feels she can trust them. They no doubt know what to say to protect Bristol, better yet they say nothing. It would still be worthwhile to hear from them. The Mat-Su Valley is a suburb of Anchorage. It is not unusual for families to move from Wasilla to Anchorage. Young people go to the big city for school and jobs. It is likely that some of Bristol's friends in Anchorage are part of her old Wasilla group. Interesting that Alice Morlock is one.
As far as Mercede is concerned I'd like to know what she thought at the time Bristol was quietly going to Levi's man cave to be alone with him. What were the rumors that Mercede and friends heard or discussed at that time? Did she ever hear any pregnant rumors before, during or after Levi? When did she first hear the "mono" rumor?
Looking back it can be difficult to put things at the correct time. It does matter what time Mercede is talking about when she says

It appears that things were well with the Palins and Johnstons in June of 2008. Mercede didn't mention how they all got together or the details of getting there and the time together. This event does not seem to be a problem for Sarah, she would not need the photos scrubbed for this. Mercede said "By the end of September I was having problems with my computer." I think the two families were still united in regard to the love birds with marriage plans, but possibly Mercede was noticing problems? What are the dates and details of the two occasions when they were planning a wedding? How involved were they with the plans of the brides family? Or were Bristol and Levi living in an alternative universe with the wedding plans? Mercede is also close to the Chandlers. Will she be able to discuss or interview them? I knew a young girl that was a serial knock up. It was always a different boy but she followed the same pattern.
Bristol may be shy but shy girls can learn manners and they will make an effort to appear socialized towards the family of a 'cool guy with a red truck.' In this situation I'm not buying the 'Bristol is just shy.' A shy girl from a political family should be able to pull off being in a social situation better than what was described, some people are taught that when you are in someones home to show a certain respect. Most girls want to give a good impression to the family of the boy of their dreams, during the times of planning babies and weddings. It sounds like Bristol had another agenda going on. I know the elephant in the room is the huge drug problem in Wasilla. No one can mention it at all. That gives the impression that alcohol and drugs have a much larger part of all this than anyone will say. How loaded was Bristol during this time? It just sounds so crazy that they are using the Johnston house to be alone in an anti-social way. They are also planning to have a baby and planning a wedding (at two different times). This is Alaska, the traditional wedding plans with Bristol's parents were not what was going on here? A social event like a wedding was being planned alone with only Bristol and Levi behind closed doors? Were Keith and Sherry Johnston in on the plans and to what degree?

High school kids do have friends over and they do go to their bedrooms. Personally if someone, as Bristol was described, was in my house with a teen age son I would have another course of action. Keith was living in the house as head of household (does he get mentioned?)? Levi is his son, where is the father son talk? The father was also planning with Levi and Bristol for a baby and the wedding, twice? I am having trouble seeing a family all planning on teens having babies. In the Palin version, not that I believe her, she did not know that Bristol was having sex. The MYSPACE account with Bristol and a friend indicate that Palin did know Bristol was sexually active before Levi. I am glad that Mercede now acknowledges 'Teen Pregnancy is HUGE here (Wasilla), unfortunately.' What were her parents thinking when they were planning with Levi and Bristol to have a baby? How much was the younger teen sister in on the plans?

ReplyDeleteJournalists and detail oriented blogs use dates, where and why. Mercede is starting out and her blog is personal. She can write in a more mystical fashion if she wants. In her June 14, 2010 blog entry, Questions Answered, she was clear that she can't say much.
"There are some I will not answer simply because I am not one hundred percent certain. There are also some I will not answer because it might impact my chances of seeing my nephew. But other than that I will try to provide an answer."
