South Carolina Democrats you need to take control of your party back! Have you heard this guy?

Wow, just wow! He is as coherent is my kids, WHEN THEY WERE 3! Someone, somewhere is going to wind up in jail for election fraud and/or tampering with an election. Again, just wow!

But the real question is, if you had to chose between him and Palin, who would you chose? Not as easy a decision as one might think?

I'm glad you're talking about this very strange and important issue. I don't believe the bloggers who say that it's "ridiculous" for blogs to talk about issues in other states. This action by Republicans in SC threatens the right to vote for people in all states.

I know this sounds conspiratorial, but honestly nothing surprises me these days. Look at how much of an influence Granny Grifter still is this far after the election and how the MSN just rolls over & doesn't call out the crap.

This video is incredibly wierd and painful to watch and sad. This guy doesn't just lack media savvy, he seems more than a little slow mentally. Along with the obvious new GOP line of attack that Obama isn't capable of managing the oil spill (and by extrapolation, the country) could this be a not so subtle dig at Obama specifically and AA generally? "Proof" that we shouldn't trust one of those "others" since they aren't too bright.

This is really bizarre. Clyburn is right--something stinks here. DeMint and the GOP are behind this.

Okay, Sarah Palin still wins the title of the single most willfully ignorant politician of our time, but Alvin wins the title for just plain ignorant.

You were so right, Gryphen, that was painful to listen to as well as highly frustrating.

Something smells to high heaven, and it is not Mr. Greene's armpits. I smell a Republican trickster at work.

However, having said that, I had the misfortune of having lived in South Carolina for year many years ago. At that time, you didn't need a high school diploma or a permanent driving license to drive a school bus. You could actually drive a school bus with a learner's permit - at least in the small towns around Charleston. Really, really, low emphasis on education down there. It shows - from DeMint to Greene, it shows.

  8. This guy sounds like he didn't finish third grade, or has been hitting the pipe.... or both.

However, after much analysis of their respective speeches, statements, and interviews, it can be deduced that he may indeed be the intellectual equal of a certain half-term Republican Governor of a remote northern state.

Watching KO's interview with the guy last night, when Keith ask Greene about the felony charges abd if he had a public defender, Greene said straight up he wouldn't answer those questions. Palin would have thrown 3 lbs. of word salad in order to avoid a straight answer. That makes him ever so slightly more acceptable than Palin. Wonder how much the Repubs paid him...

The republicans accomplished two things by planting him. One if he doesn’t step down (and they will convince him not to) then it is their candidate against him – it’s a sure win for the republicans. Second they accomplished making it appear that democrats are not savvy voters. Remember the republican that was screaming that Obama got elected because all the democrats were illiterate and uneducated and they should require testing in order to vote. I can’t recall his name but he was a big mouth idiot. This is their way of making it look like that was true.

In the end this will come back to bite the republicans in the ass. I don’t think this guy realizes the position they have placed him in. If he continued to claim he paid the filing fee then he lied to the courts about not having money for his court case and needing a public defender. I pray this guy wakes up and realizes he is their fall guy all the way around.

It is an extremely painful interview to listen to. But the republicans don’t have a chance in hell in regaining the majority in Congress unless they resort to bullshit like this.

I know this is OT but it speaks to what political corruption will do--and involves Palin endorsed Rick Perry(TX).

Today, burntorangereport.com is reporting that Perry's top political consultant has been linked to the Green Party ballot/petition scam in TX. This is solely to steal votes from White(Dem for Gov) in 2010.

I posted about this last night. Although ot, I wanted to pass this on so people is other states will be aware of more sleazy tactics by Repubs--and a Palin endorsement. The Dem Party is taking it to court!

I thought Olbermann's interview was very interesting. He got Mr. Greene on national TeeVee so we could all see what Clyburn was talking about and asked just enough soft ball questions to get people's attention.

Any descent interviewer could have eaten Mr. Greene alive and humiliated him in the eyes of the world. Olbermann did not do that. He didn't need to beat the man up to make his point.

    Well done Keith.
Mr. Greene isn't the issue. Who is paying for his lawyer, who paid for his filing fee, why he did he stay out of sight of the Democratic party, and how did anybody know to vote for an invisible candidate are the real issues.

Unfortunately, Mr. Greene just jumped into the middle of a shark feed and he will probably have some ugly days ahead.

If Mr. Greene has an angel and that angel is white and not a Democrat it is going to be hard for them to avoid being tagged with one of the most egregiously racists acts in a long time.

Even compared to Arizona, if this man was used as the unwitting player in a political dirty trick this stinks all the way back to Nixon and surpasses it.

It's not about being a plant. You can "plant" a candidate, but that doesn't give him the vote. It's about those crappy 100% unverifiable machines that gave votes to a man that no one seems to know, including the voters in SC. Brad blog is of course on the store, as they have been since those machines were introduced into elections.
Simply put it's vote machine rigging and it doesn't take a genius to do it.

  14. It is plainly obvious to me that NO ONE in the Democratic party hierarchy is paying ANY attention.
The Dems are looking ridiculous and it began with the loss of Kennedy's seat. There is no way Mr. Greene should have won this race but he is as nutty as Rand Paul.

I suspect something caused his "haze" whether it is PTSD or something else. I saw on MSNBC and article that stated:

:The University of South Carolina confirms that Greene graduated in 2000 with a degree in political science. The Pentagon confirms that he served in the Army, and in the Army and Air Force national guards. Although Greene has not boasted of winning awards, the Pentagon says he was granted the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Korean Defense Service Medal.

Where it gets hazy is Greene's discharge from the Army in August 2009, six months before the end of his three-year commitment, according to the Pentagon. The Pentagon does not confirm whether service members are discharged honorably or dishonorably. Greene says he "was honorably discharged from the Army, but it was involuntary. Things weren't working out. . . . Same thing happened in the Air Force. It's a long story in both services."

So he does have some formal education although it isn't evident from anything we have seen so far. It is possible he has had a brain injury or something as well.

I feel bad for him in so many ways. Still he would be less a danger than Palin is.

I miss Howard Dean as head of the DNC. He got everything organized and people focused. We need him back in charge. Things have gone downhill fast since he left the DNC.

I agree that the electronic voting machines are easily tampered and "fixed." Everyone says it would take too much money to add a printer to them so the voters could keep a verifiable record if the tally is questioned. However, it is going to cost us much, much more if our elections continue to go awry.

  17. He was on Chris Matthews. It appears without the facts known yet someone played a dirty trick on the man. He is mentally slow. It appears this in some way is way to say that black people are slow and of course goes back to President Obama.

Oh, the GOP is certainly behind this mess.

Reports are coming in stating he has a pending felony charge right now.

Seriously? What a screwed up system we have in place. I am embarrassed.

Don't forget that when Mike Connell was assassinated via plane by the Repugnants his blackberry with all his election fixing secrets which he always carried went missing. Connell won 2004 for Bush to save the babies.

He is NOT mentally slow. Or he wasn't before he entered our Armed Forces.

In order to get a degree in political science, even from a southern university, he would have had to take the ACT or SAT to enter and pass 4 years of courses, some of them requiring the ability to think critically and to write essays.

Why did he enter the Service? Probably the unemployment rate. Why did he leave the Service 9 months early? Probably shell-shock.
When a college graduate comes home with the mental capacity of a 3-year-old, it is time to look at his service record and back-track to the events that caused this.

A great pity. If he has PSTD or physical damage to the brain, he needs to be within the VA system, getting care.

And whoever decided that he'd be a useful tool, prompted him to do this, and paid his filing fee deserves raking over hot coals and a few stabs with the poker.

This is what you get when anyone with a pulse decides they should run for office, because it is the will of the people (in this case, his constituents) and the will of Sarah. Didn't she make a shout out to Joe-Six-Pack's, real Americans with no qualifications or background to run for office? How Washington Outsider can you get?

Let's take note of the fact that Al Green, for all his cringe-worthy greatness is on all the prime-time news shows. Why? America has a love affair with train-wrecks. We can't believe this guy, as much as we can't believe Sarah Palin has gotten as far as she has in life.

Remember how she used her being a guest on Charlie Rose or Hannity's show as a reason to validate that despite her quitting, she remains a relevant political figure? It's not for her "growing" political acumen, it is because we can't turn away from the train-wreck.

As for Al, poor poor Al, who's Poli-Sci degree is as relevant as Sarah's, he'll be a punch line for a much shorter time than the timeless Sarah. She'll always keep giving, cause you know, God cracking those doors all over the place for her.

It's like Forrest Gump and Sarah Palin had a baby.
Shame on the SC Democrats for allowing anyone with a check to get on the ballot with no further inquiry.
Greene needed a public defender in November, has been unemployed for nine months, yet managed to stash $10,440 between November and May to pay for this.
I feel for him; he's clearly being used by someone. It's not the first time it's happened in SC. And somehow, this is the state that kept Stephen Colbert off the presidential ballot. In that case, the state's executive panel voted him down; why was there no such vetting in this case?
Still, I'd take him over DeMint or SP!

I never saw any campaign literature from either Greene or his opponent, so I cast no vote in that race. But I must say that just repeating over and over the same bullet points is not unknown among very seasoned politicians, who may be more savvy otherwise.
