Mercede has a new post. This one is for her mom.
After another extended absence Sadie has put up another very personal post.
This one is about her mom and I warn you ahead of time to have your box of Kleenex at the ready, because this one is a very emotional read.
Keep at it Mercede. Don't let the Palin's stifle your freedom to speak. And, I can't believe there are no pictures yet to prove or disprove Bristol's pregnant condition. She was porking up last view the public had of her at that appearance in Orlando. Does she own an invisibility cloak? Supposedly she goes to work - she said she is working full time and working on her education, (whatever "working" means)so, why is it noone has spotted her to confirm whether she is or isn't prego?
Thank you for the heads up on Mercedes post. I normally put my comment over here but today I left it on her blog. I don't follow her blog so I guess I kinda count on you to do a shout out when she post.
Thanks for the heads up. Your encouragement will surely help both Mercede and Sherry's situation. Must be very hard on Sherry to have to depend on Mercede. Surely someone in the state of Alaska understands what services are available and will post. I don't know if help is age related, disability related or what or if you have to be part Native American in Alaska...
OT Sorry Gryphen, how about a post in response to Dave Weigels so called facts about Trigs birth. Funny he thinks proof that Scarah had the baby was the fact people gave her baby showers. He is a real idiot at times.
Reading Sadie's blog is deep felt. They've had so much to endure.
Mother Duck, I'm with you and puzzled about no one seeing Bristol or getting a photo. It seems to be a self defeating Alaskan thing or misguided protection for Bristol? Crooks are crooks, charlatans are charlatans. Get them or forget them. The Barefoot Bandit is only 19 years old, I don't know what his haul amounts to, he does steal from the rich. No doubt his booty is small next to the grifters. Should the Barefoot Bandit be protected, too? He has a following that glamorizes what he does but he doesn't lie to our children about pretending to abstain from his fix. If he writes a book at least he will wait until he is in prison. I am disgusted with the fraud mother and child schemes. It would be nice to know why no one will mention they've seen Bristol or why no pictures. According to Bristol she goes to work every week day, not hard to find.

Bristol's appearance in Orlando was 2 months ago. One can only imagine how large she must be by now. If she is regular weight I betcha she could be seen in public. Birth control pills would put on weight but not necessarily a huge gain. If she is not pregnant I'd think she would be able to talk about what is going on. The children she talks to have weight problems after giving birth. There is most certain some big secrets going on with Bristol.
And not one word has been said about when she will start her public speaking. Everything about Bristol seems to be a cover now or some hokey PR scam.
Maybe until you know the full story anonymous at 9:35am you should reserve judgment. She is serving her time in home arrest. The court system is about rehabilitation (or should be) not punishment and stigma the rest of your life. Enough said IMHO.
People in extreme pain year after year sometimes make unwise choices. Until you walk in one's shoes as the saying goes....
Sarah Palin can dress her daughter up in designer clothes, put her on magazine covers, build her bigger and bigger houses - but the daughter will not be satisfied. Why? Because she isn't Mercede Johnston.
She doesn't have what the beautiful, compassionate Mercede has. She will never have the nurturance and support of a truly loving mother. That void will not be filled. Money won't make it so. Claiming Mercede's brother won't make it so. The Palin daughter will spend the rest of her life in silent envy of Mercede Johnston, just like her mother, Sarah Palin, who didn't marry into the other side of the tracks, who didn't win the pageant, envied the years away in Wasilla.
Sarah Palin fears two things: The Truth and those who know the truth.
Mercede's post is beautifully constructed. It prods the reader on so many levels and rips the cover off of what's lying under the surface of the whole Palin mess and lays it out raw as it is - and she never even mentioned the name Palin. Brilliant, impressive young woman that Mercede. So very well done, truly.
9:35 AM The story is sad. The best thing to happen to people who suffer like this and communities with problems is when they can open up and talk. The garbage has to come out. The South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission comes to mind. I'm not suggesting that Palin deserves amnesty. TRC is not a totally appropriate example but it opened up discussion and it was cleansing. It frees the victims, bystanders and perpetrators from carrying around the same old baggage year after year.
I think it is to Sherry's favor that she did not try to make excuses for mistakes. She paid her dues. Whether a person takes pharmaceuticals or other drugs they all cloud the mind and judgment. I don't think it makes her less human. If anything I would like to hear more about her experiences. Although the dates are not clear, it sounds like Sherry had many years of pain before 2008.
I am curious why it is Sherry's two informants are never named. I don't think they could still work undercover for the FBI in that little town? All of Bristol and Levi's friends would know them. If they are twelve or thirteen years of age that would be awful. If they are closer to eighteen it is a little different situation. Not that it is ever right, I don't think it is right when adults exchange pharmaceuticals, but that's just me. Where I am we have some serious addict/dealers that are 16 to 17. Just because of their age it does not mean they are more innocent than say an elder or someone in pain they may take advantage of. No one knows if Sherry took advantage of some young kids or if some shady delinquents were part of a set up.
I am grateful I live where we can have more open discussions because when toxic secrets are kept it will corrode the whole town. At some point I hope Sherry can be forgiven and better understood. She did pay her dues and deserves not to have that mistake held against her forever. At least not until we know more of the story.
With so much painful (literally) drama going on in the Johnston household why would Levi embark on (as claimed) starting a family? The whole thing does not make sense. I think that Mercede might be overly trusting and is being played.

Bristol was involved in selling and someone tipped her off - she gave the phone back to Sherry.
Not long after, Sherry got busted for selling her prescription drugs.
It's not hard to swallow that story because of Track's history with drugs and Bristol is known to use.
Todd's sister definitely was hooked on oxy's and probably meth, too- she went down fast - when I look at pictures of her from November 2008 and compare them to May 2009 it's unbelievable how "ravished" she looked.
People can complain that it's not right to sell drugs - but we don't know the whole story. I would bet money that Sherry is only the tip of the iceberg in that deal.
Willow got away with busting up a house with her friends and causing $20K in damage. According to the friends, she was the ring leader. Yet, no punishment at all....nothing, nada. This is SOP for the Palin clan. Put the blame on everyone else.
I feel bad for Sherry, but I commend Mercede for the wonderful care she is giving her Mom and she acts much older and wiser than her years.
Mercede's post is very realistic and insightful into the struggles she and her mom have to deal with. The day Sherry J. had her court hearing, or was present for the judge's ruling, she was alone and it was very upsetting to see photos of her alone with Mercede, and no one else around for support. I hope when things all clear for them, they can start afresh in a new town or state for that matter.
So unfortunate that these families crossed paths, but then not, as it produced a precious child, but at a great cost.
I would imagine no one in Wasilla would ever want to have anything to do with the Palin's for fear of being sucked into their vortex of hell.
I appreciate the difficult life Mercede has had, and I applaud her for all she is doing to help her mom. I agree with those who want to show grace towards her mom's legal issues, but I admit that is a bit difficult for me.
Her pain is very real, but so is the pain my family has gone through with my son's OC addiction. My "Sherri" is the guy with a bad back across the street. A man we have known for years. He has had several surgeries and he can't work. Makes a few bucks on the side, though. We had no idea for a long time. His other source was also someone disabled due to massive pain. Also a family friend.
All of these people, my son included, made an initial, selfish choice. While I do understand that people in pain may make a bad choice, PLEASE don't minimize the effects of OC on ALL the people touched by the choices. So, while Mercede's love and appreciation of all her mom has gone through is admirable, her mother's legal offense is not.
I am glad her mother is receiving help. My son is in a program and we have repaired the damage done in his fits of rage. We still walk on egg shells, though. We are far, far from feeling trust and we go to bed most nights with guilt for not having seen it sooner.
Mercede is a good daughter, and I am very sure Sherri is a good person. But too many lives have been affected by these drugs. Whether she was set up or not makes no difference to me. She sold the drug and I am glad it was to an undercover person, and not someone else's child. She would feel the same way, I am sure, if someone had sold her daughter OC.
This is the first time I have ever written about this with my own son, so if I offended anyone, sorry, but if you haven't gone through this, you have NO idea.

I can't shed too many tears for someone who was dealing OC (teenage use of this drug is epidemic in my Alaskan community). The story is very sad.
