Feel good video of the day.
To say the least I was completely amazed by this video.
I had never heard of this Kevin Richardson before, so I looked him up.
I don't know what it is, but something about watching these lions frolic with this gentleman give me a strange sense of peace.
All I can say is Wow! These animials are just so incredibly beautiful and powerful - they just seem to adore the guy. so amazing to watch. Thanks Gryph for posting this.
I saw him some years ago on Animal Planet. He has raised hyenas for years when one of his favorite quite young hyena's died. He was so saddened and depressed by it that he was hardly able to function. It took quite some time for him to get over, but when he did, he threw himself back into working with them, so it was wonderful to see this video to see him with the other animals as well. He's terrific!
Yes, Kevin is amazing. I particularly loved the bit where the lioness swam to him in the waterhole. Such trust (on both sides), for lions are water-shy.
As a self-taught animal behaviourist, he gets to know each animal individually and uses love and understanding rather than treats and rewards. Absolutely awesome! BTW Kevin’s new series, entitled The Lion Ranger, is to be launched in September by National Geographic.

I only hope that those lions are part of a rehabilitation program (as they seem to be!), else he could be doing them a terrible disservice. :(
