In a matchup between Teabagger queen Sarah Palin and President Obama in 2012, the Grizzled Mama would get her ass handed to her!

From the Bloomberg National Poll:

If the 2012 election for U.S. President were held today and the candidates were [Sarah Palin for the
Republicans] and [Barack Obama for the Democrats], for whom would you vote—[Sarah Palin] or
[Barack Obama], or would you likely not vote? (Alternate which candidate is read first every other
interview.)

51 Barack Obama
35 Sarah Palin
10 Will likely not vote
4 Not sure

Personally I think that by the time we get to 2012, and Obama's policies have really kicked in and more of Sarah's skeletons have fallen out of her closet, the disparity between these numbers will grow even more to favor President Obama.

Right now people are upset and looking for change, but only 35 percent are letting their emotions dumb them down enough to consider Palin a change this country can withstand.

I believe the irascible Helen Thomas said it best in a recent interview:

"That would be a tragedy, a national tragedy," Thomas said of the possibility of a Palin presidency. She called the former GOP vice-presidential nominee "very conservative, reactionary, unbelievable."

By the way SarahPAC's financial report for this last quarter just came out and Palin managed to rake in an astonishing 1.2 million. So you know there are STILL a number of very ignorant people out there who are convinced, despite all evidence to the contrary, that Palin would be able to do the job as President of the United States.

The financial disclosure, filed Tuesday by her SarahPAC, shows the 2008 vice presidential candidate and potential 2012 presidential contender spent a total of about $1 million during that time. Much of it — more than $255,000 — went to consultants in areas including coalitions, media, international affairs and finance.

I really wish the IRS would take a close look at this PAC.  I am certain that there is some very serious money laundering going on here. Palin is the queen of the grifters, and she undoubtedly uses this PAC much like the Mafia uses off shore bank accounts.

Of course if, and when, Palin announces her candidacy I don't think she can count on continuing these kind of shenanigans without SOMEBODY blowing the lid off.

Good post. Disappointed that 49 people weren't for our wonderful President Obama but it's like you say, by 2012 when more of his policies have kicked in it will be better.

I vote for investigating SP's finances from top to bottom.

I also voted for The Situation. He's got more class, integrity and personality than The Pistol.

Sarah spent about 8% ($93500) on contributions to other candidates and spent 21% ($255000) on consultants. All that money on consultants but she still can't talk about anything in her screeches except a pregnancy that didn't happen and the story changes with every speech.

Well, she damn sure doesn't use the PAC for what she should. Such as, travel expenses for her endorsement appearances (a la Karen Handel). I would like to alter Keith Olbermann's little catch phrase to: "that woman is an asshole". A corrupt one, at that.

Oh Gryphen, I keep telling you.

    She will not run.

Gryphen, I might be stupid to have to ask this, but where's the money coming from that she has to launder it? Would she be funneling things like multiple payments for the same legal bills through her PAC and into her private account? I'm not very aware of how this works.

    Great post, Gryph.

No one in his or her true "right" mind would vote for Palin for anything. And I do mean that exactly the way it reads.

I hope it won't take too much longer before people start seeing what a nutjob she really is. At some point she will be so cartoonish and her popularity so low that I expect we will start seeing nutter conspiracy claims that she was just a setup by Obama's people to take criticism off of him and make him look good because no one in their right minds would have believed anything she spouts.

Just contemplating on an actual Palin run. I know she's got hordes of sycophants that shut down any kind of thought process or questioning of Sarah's sainthood and buy every piece of evolving heroism she concocts in every appearance. Sarah's narrative is a living thing, she celebrates it by embellishing and reinventing things she's verbalized and written.

Can you win a State by pity? Cause there will be a point where her strength, brand, power and vitriol simply won't cut it on the trail. When she's struggling and pathetic on the podium (which is how she would be accepted if she were to stray from her pre-approved audience) would people like IM'ers actually feel sorry for her?

That said, I just want her to SD&STFU. Don't run, it isn't even worth the laughs, the wasted funds, man hours, guaranteed slaughter of the GOP or Tea Party's delusion of grandeur and the thorough vetting Palin would once and for all endure.

If they are still writing an expose on McCain's false narrative in Vanity Fair and not treating Miller with kid gloves in Alaska - Sarah's got to be getting nervous. She thought she had it bad the first time around? Wait until she doesn't blink through that door that the American people keep begging her to plow through and take a shot at national office.

The only thing as tiring as the Palin family is your continual oblique references to skeletons that will fall out of the Palin closet.

Come on, Gryphen. Put up or shut up.

She can hire consultants to teach her international policies until her bumpit falls off and she'll still be the most ignorant snowcow standing. It's obvious she's learned nothing since all she repeats is Iran nukular weapons, Iran, Israel, nukular weapons. Pffft.
She's a moron. I really don't think she'll run because she'd HAVE to talk to LSM other than Fox and that will NOT happen. She really is a joke and has given Alaska a huge black eye. Of course the fact that AK folks would vote for Lisa Murkowski isn't helping AK's image either.

For one, she used her PAC to pay her way to the first DWTS. She tried to get DWTS to pay for her hotel...they did not. She did not have any political events in the area around that time. So yes, she is using the PAC as her own personal banking account.

Hmmm, perhaps the tea party ticket in 2012 will not be Palin/Bachmann, but the other way around, and Palin can be second best again. The thought of the two of them in office together gives me stomach flu!!

Was Christy in court for the six-month protective order? Is he still a threat to the President?

Judge extends Palin, Cole protective orders for 6 months
    http://frontiersman.com/articles/2010/10/12/breaking_news/doc4cb3eb41c75da272713701.txt
Far from denying the threats, Christy is a well-known personality to the U.S. Capital Police, Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to his father, Craig Christy.

He said his son has been contacted and evaluated as a threat by all three organizations, but no charges have been filed despite his more than 20 threats against President Barack Obama, more than 40 threats against 2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain and another 40 against Palin.

A fan of Palin’s, Christy also spent $200 to attend a Pennsylvania event in August where she was the featured speaker.

“I was in the wrong,” Shawn Christy said in a phone interview earlier this month. “I think I learned my lesson and I am still learning my lesson.”

It must be very important for Palin to keep alive the story that she is threatened by this 18-year-old, Shawn Christy. The Alaskan judicial system is all about Sarah. I am so relieved to know the ABC board showed no elitist privileges toward Bristol and diligently investigated her nachos

However, Shawn R. Christy's father, Craig, claims the 18-year-old only received about four hours notice of the hearing date being moved up in the court schedule.
    http://standardspeaker.com/news/judge-extends-palin-protection-order-1.1047878
Craig Christy said he wanted to know why the date and master were switched and why there was such short notice. When he called the courthouse Monday, he got no answer, and he was out of his cell phone service area when the court called and left him a message at 5:47 p.m. stating the hearing would begin in 17 minutes and that Shawn should call and attend by phone.

According to the Frontiersman, Palin attended the hearing by phone and Cole was present.

Craig said just Tuesday, the family received another letter from the court stating the hearing was moved to Monday.

They found out about the hearing's results by reading it online, Craig Christy said. Shawn, he said, was never given a chance to defend himself.

"This is devastating. It really is. But we're going to continue fighting until we can right this wrong. I never thought America would come to this," Craig Christy said.

THIS EXPLAINS THE "THE KNOB" ON TOP OF SARAH'S HEAD!

A lady in her late 40's went to a plastic surgeon for a face lift. The Dr. told her of a new procedure called "The Knob". This small knob is planted on the back of a woman's head and can be turned to tighten up the skin to produce the effect of a brand new facelift forever. Of course, the woman wanted "The Knob."

Fifteen years later the woman went back to the surgeon with two problems.

"All these years everything had been working just fine. I've had to turn the knob on lots of occasions and I've loved the results.

But now I've developed two annoying problems. First of all, I've got these terrible bags under my eyes and the knob won't get rid of them."

The doctor looked at her and said, "Those aren't bags, those are your breasts."

She replied, "Well, I guess that explains the goatee."

There is a show on TEEVEE where celebs are having their "ROOTS" checked. Now if one goes back far enough and follows every branch of their family tree, no matter how far reaching and far fetched they go, they will be assured of eventually finding distant relatives of many and varried races. The object of this show apparently (after watching 3 or 4 of them) seems to be to put caucasian celebs in touch with a distant black family member somewhere in Africa, showing them meeting with everyone on both sides tickled pink, delighted and hugging.

If you thought racist/bigot Sarah Palin has made some gawdawful faces in the past or thrown temper tantrums at the nuclear
level, just wait until she gets her "ROOTS" checked and finds out that she and the blubbering beckster
are BOTH related to Obama through mutual BLACK MUSLIM ancestors in AFRICA!!! LOL

  25. WOW---WHO KNEW????

    Obama's related to Palin
    By JOCELYN NOVECK
    The Associated Press
    Wednesday, October 13, 2010; 12:56 AM
NEW YORK -- President Barack Obama has family ties to none other than Sarah Palin, according to the genealogists at Ancestry.com, a discovery the family history site made when looking for connections between political foes.
And that's not all - Obama also is apparently related to conservative radio host and relentless critic Rush Limbaugh.
A genealogist at the Utah-based Ancestry.com, Anastasia Tyler, said Obama and Palin are 10th cousins through a common ancestor named John Smith, a pastor and early settler in 17th-century Massachusetts. Obama is related to Smith through his mother, as is Palin, Tyler said.
"Smith was against the persecution of the Quakers," Tyler said in an interview. "He was a very socially conscious man."
As for Limbaugh, he's also a 10th cousin of the president - one time removed - through a common ancestor named Richmond Terrell, who Tyler said was a large landowner in Virginia, also in the 17th century. "His history is a little more nebulous," Tyler said.

How do the genealogists come up with this stuff? Tyler said they start by picking the people they're interested in, then examine their family trees, going back further and further into history, looking for common surnames and locations.
In the recent project, genealogists looked at the trees of Obama, Palin, and Limbaugh but also a few others, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Fox News pundits Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. They didn't find anything much with the latter three.
But former President George W. Bush? He's related to both Obama and Palin, the site found. Obama and Bush are 11th cousins through common ancestor Samuel Hinckley, and Bush and Palin are 10th cousins one time removed, also through Hinckley - who, and stay with us now, was John Smith's father-in-law.
Ancestry.com has revealed in the past that Obama is related to investor Warren Buffett and actor Brad Pitt. It has also found that Palin, the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate, is a distant cousin of both Franklin D. Roosevelt and Princess Diana.
The site isn't the only source of this sort of celebrity genealogy information - in 2007, Cheney's wife, Lynne, discovered ancestral ties between former Vice President Dick Cheney and Obama while researching her book. She said the relationship was eighth cousin, though the Chicago Sun-Times traced it as ninth cousins once removed.
And one other thing from Ancestry.com: It also found that Palin is distant cousins with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and conservative author and pundit Ann Coulter, through John Lathrop, who was exiled to the United States from England for being a pastor of an illegal independent church.

At least Palin is doing (slightly) better against Obama than O'Donnell is against Coons in the polls, although that's not saying a whole lot. Be sure to watch a repeat of Palin's version of immitating a debate by watching the O'Donnell vs. Coons debate tonight on CNN at 7:30. Should be very entertaining to find exactly how stupid this women is. I'm just amazed how someone can be so ignorant, so fiscally irresponsible, and have her checkered employment history and be seriously considered for any elected office, but a U.S. Senator? It just goes to prove just how stupid Sarah Palin and her Tea Party friends are. They are nothing more than racist white trailer trash and deserve each other. I hope I didn't offend anyone by being so blunt, if I did I appologize, unless you agree with them, in which case I'm not apologetic.

It is unlikely that Obama will not be re-elected, and the republicans know that. But they can still get their agenda through. They are accomplishing what they set out to do - tarnish Obama, limit legislation by filibustering, and win important races locally, including governorships, so that they can redistrict. Local races were always their goal, not to unseat Obama or even get total control of congress.

  34. Anonymous @6:56, where did you get the info about DWTS and the hotel room that they wouldn't pay for? It's not that I doubt she would try to do that, because she's cheap as hell and always has been. I'd just like to read it myself.

For anyone familiar with the rules of PACS, how does she get away with them paying for the DWTS airfare? It was not a political expense, no matter how she spins it. Also, does anyone know if there are any limits as to how many people the PAC will pay for as far as traveling goes? If the PAC is paying for her to speak in GA, does it allow for payment for the entire family accompanying her?

I hope someone knows the answers to these questions. I haven't been able to find the answers anywhere I've checked. TIA!
