Joe Miller gets a second chance to endorse Sarah Palin and he STILL can't bring himself to do it! Prepare for another grammatically incorrect and misspelled e-mail from Todd Palin in 3..2..1

I like how he says "Let me make this unequivocal" and then he goes and makes it all equivocal-like, and everything.  Time to translate.

"Now let me be clear, I am not exactly saying that Sarah Palin would be the worst possible President in the history of the universe, I am saying that I think she could possibly, maybe, perhaps, not be too terribly, awfully, so bad, that the planet would explode in a ball of fire during her inaugural.  But it is really not for me to say, because I am much more focused on fucking up Alaska."

I am making a HUGE bowl of popcorn in anticipation of Todd's e-mail meltdown.

ya know, he's kind of got a point. The media is DESPERATE that someone will either spill the beans on her plans or will create lots of drama about her and 2012. He's completely right to dodge that bullet the way he's been doing.

    Not to trivialize politics (ha)
but it brings to mind when paparazzi asks DWTS contestants what they think of Bolton/Bruno drama, hoping to stir the drama pot. All the dancers dodged those questions.

He sure worked on changing the subject didn't he! Slippery little devil. Wonder how many more times in interviews he will mention the non-feud between the Palins and the Murkowskis.

Gee, do you think the message from his strategy meeting was to try to deflect this to Murkowski? He's just so subtle!!! Slimebags, the lot of them. Except McAdams, just being his honest self and watching the car crashes all around him. Mel

so is Sarah going to show up at the San Diego combat vets event this weekend or not?
Joe is now being headlined on the website's event invitation.

did she bail? would be fun to see the body language between the two of them.

My guess is that Toad is now on a tighter leash and that $arah took his blackberry away from him because the email he sent didn't get Joe to do backflips through the hoop when she snapped her fingers. I think $arah herself (not RAM) will take to her FB page and have a hissy fit telling Joe she's driving the bus and it's coming at him head-on, full speed.

Joe Miller is too small-time to whip the media into a feeding frenzy. Sorry, Gryphen, you're going to have to keep plodding along finding each and every little shred of evidence Sarah Palin was too careless to tidy up.

Phones keep things these days. ... that line had a nice ring too it.

You know, it's not a trap. Todd attacked him, he should address Todd's concerns.

Easy-peasey - either she is qualified (other than being old - er, old enough and an American citizen)or not. I'd say he's trying to avoid saying she's not.

So, bottom line, he unequivocally said that she meets the Constitutional requirement:
She's a natural born citizen who is at least thirty-five years old and has lived in the United States for at least fourteen consecutive years.

In other words -- he danced right around that question despite the surprisingly strong and direct questioning.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anonymous4:13 PM

Why does he keep referring to a Palin-Murkowski feud?

The talking head specifically asked HIM whether he felt Palin was qualified and twice he makes reference to Murkowski-Palin.

    FOX deserves it.

Toward the end, he says "of course she's qualified"...i thought he finally answered the question...but then i listened again. He said she's qualified as defined in the constitution. Then Toad comes crawling back with his tail between his legs "No, no, it was really all a mistake, no problem here..."

Then Miller kind of tells them to F Off with the condescending "constitutionally qualified". And makes those toss off references to the "Murkowski Palin feud".

5;26, Sarah Palin is no entrepreneur.

She is a slick con artist who is leveraging our reality TV/ celebrity pop culture. She has used the Alaska mystique to hide behind and the sexy librarian to tease the sound-bite Media.

The fact that she's a good looking woman is what nails it. If she were ugly, it would be a no-go.

Hell, most of it is ALASKA. If she were to hail from, say, Alabama or Utah, it would be pure Yawn.

Entrepreneur? Don't make me laugh. What is her innovative business? Selling lies to old angry white people? Back where I come from, we call that "conning."

By the way, "genius" is usually referenced in regards to achieving a certain threshold of IQ or artistic achievement. Perhaps you feel she is a con artist? Agreed.

As much of a douchebag this guy is, he is obviously educated and probably well connected in DC. I love it that he is not slobbering all over Palin and she must be soooooooo pissed off. I don't like him as a potential Senator, but I admire his tenacity for not kissing her ass. I still have lots of popcorn....enough to last through the midterms. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous6:45 PM

Joe Miller has obviously crunched the numbers and realized that Sarah's support, or supporting Sarah, is no way to get elected in the general election. Being connected to Sarah was only a good ploy in the primary election because the wingnuts have pretty well taken over the Republican party in Alaska. (remember, this is the party that will willingly vote for a crook because "He is our crook"! Not to mention all the Federal pork some of Alaska's crooks bring home) But in a general election where his vote will be split by Lisa, he needs to sound reasonable to anyone he can to have a chance at winning. Trouble is, he's already tainted himself with Palin goo. And to top it off, his own past and hypocrisy is coming back to haunt him.

Really, Sarah's vindictiveness aimed at Lisa and Lisa's vindictiveness right back, forced Joe into a corner where he has to distance himself from Sarah and her clan.

    I love Karma!

    Rick

  45. Anonymous6:46 PM

I only meant Sarah is an entrepreneur the same way a successful actor is an entrepreneur. It takes great PR skill to market yourself for optimal exposure without overdoing it. Just when the country almost forgets she's alive, something happens.

Taking advantage of Supply and demand is not conning. Her listeners know what they're getting. Opportunism is only one facet of being an entrepreneur.

The question remains: what's her staying power?

I'm just being realistic, as I work in high-end entertainment venues and with marketing firms and am always looking for new approaches and innovators.

OK! Here's what i got out of Joe's non-endorsement endorsement of Sarah for President:

Joe's planning on winning this race for Senate. Then, next fourth of July he's going to announce he's quitting his job as Senator so he can run for President.

Ergo, he's banking all his comments about Sarah's qualifications for next year when he plans on using them against her to further his own career :)

    Sneaky li'l bastard eh?

Last month, Miller had no problem with saying that Palin was qualified to be POTUS. Something has happened since then:

    1) Miller has realized that his ties to Palin are not a plus in the general election because he has to attract the moderates, not just Palin's extreme evangelical base.

    2) The Palins have tried to butt into his campaign too much ("Do you see what I'm dealing with?")

    3) Joe has been talking with higher-ups in the GOP since he won the primary, and is now privy to the big GOP secret that Palin is actually toxic, and there's no way in hell that she'll get the GOP nomination for 2012.

Any or all of the above. At any rate, he's unloading the Palins like unwanted ballast. Karma, baby.

OT, but I read this on Huffpo. Posted by Baily's Mom:

Kim Chatman, the Alaskan who filed the successful ethics complaint against $arah Palin and her illegal PAC, just tweeted this last week. She is referring to a time when $arah claimed that $he was seven months along:

“We saw you in Fairbanks after you announced your pregnancy, you were not pregnant. Trig is a political prop.”

On her FB page, she also wrote “Now is the time to tell it – I know for a fact that $arah Palin was not pregnant with Trig, my kids observed it too. We saw her in Fairbanks (indoors, no coats) after she announced her pregnancy, she had no baby bump whatsoever. That’s when I started doubting her, prior to that I thought she was great.”
