From the ADN:
"I lied about accessing all of the computers. I then admitted about accessing the computers, but lied about what I was doing. Finally, I admitted what I did," Miller wrote in a March 17, 2008, e-mail to Fairbanks North Star Borough Attorney Rene Broker.
Miller's admission said he went on three of his co-workers' computers to participate in a political poll and then cleared the caches. "I now understand that clearing the cache also cleared out passwords and ID's for various websites that people were using and was very hurtful (as was the simple fact that I was on their computers)," he wrote.
"As I told you on Wednesday, I acknowledge that my access to others' computers was wrong, participating in the poll was wrong, lying was wrong, and there is absolutely no excuse for any of it," he wrote.
Okay so he lied, then he told the truth, then he lied, then he told the truth, and then was made to apologize for what he did in the first place? Is this a Senate candidate or a five year old child?
You know usually Senators start off fairly ethic and then are corrupted by the power and influence of lobbyist money they find there. But Joe Miller comes pre-corrupted and we already KNOW how unethical and untrustworthy he will be.
Somehow I don't see that as a good thing.
Update: Now I would like somebody to ask Miller about his military career and the circumstances surrounding his disharge. And while they are at it perhaps they can ask him about this memo that was found on the Fairbanks Newsminer website as well:
BTW this is the website for Magellan Health Services. They specialize in PTSD. Now isn't THAT interesting?
Update 2: Alaska Dispatch has what looks like ALL of the personnel documents here. It is late and I don't have time to go through them all right now, but what I have read so far offers a very interesting look into Miller's personality. Take a look and let me know what you think.
Thank God. This has to cook his goose in this election. The final step should be to assemble all of his lies and scams and present them to the appropriate AK Bar Ass'n and ask for an investigation. The findings of that investigation, and his disbarment or other discipline, will be a public record he cannot dodge in another election in another state.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog, Gryphen, but can you PLEASE stop using this photo of Miller? Those red eyes just freak me out!
ReplyDeletego to the Fairbanks News Miner website. click on the top Joe Miller story. scroll to readers comments. someone posted a letter from Magellan Behavioral Health regarding Miller as a client. how this reader got it, i don't know. if real, it validates Miller was having some mental health issues at work.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering for days why that picture of Joe Miller freaks me out every time you use it. Other than the obvious reason that it is totally creepy. Finally figured it out. He looks just like one of the animals in the early Carly Fiorina "Demon Sheep" ad from the CA Primary:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRY7wBuCcBY
If the link doesn't work it's worth the Google.
There are six working days left to convince voters in AK that this man is a fraud, a liar, a pretender, and a danger. Alaska, and the media everywhere, we're counting on you.
I'd say we have a 95% certainty that he left the military academy for either cheating or lying or both.
ReplyDeleteer, Yale Law is usually enough to make a person KNOW not to make unauthorized use of computers for political purposes during work hours. Not to mention, being too STUPID to realize people would notice that ther computers had lost information.
ReplyDeleteJoe Miller is a paper thin veneer of normalcy covering a quivering wreck of an excuse for an ethical humman being.
---
Saw the Taproot Bar broadcast of MSNBC tonight. Rachael Maddow hadn't even gotten to 2nd gear and Joe Miller bolted.
More than the lie, he had to undergo some sort of counseling/ treatment. Prompted by behaviors he exhiibted for months before the computer incident.
ReplyDeleteI saw YOU, Gryphen AND Shannyn, AND AKM (Jeanie) AND Linda (Diva) on national TV with Rachael!
ReplyDeleteI recognize more AK citizens than I do citizens of my own State - CA.
WOOHOOOOO! What an amazing show it was!
You just can't make this stuff up. . . . .
ReplyDeleteMiller lies as easily as he breathes and is a dangerously disturbed man. We all are in trouble if this sociopath gets anywhere near D.C.
Do Alaskans want another elected official with ethical behavior problems? Especially knowing up front this person runs from the truth until backed into a corner?
ReplyDeleteHow many more damaging secrets can come out before the election, or after?
We could wonder if Sarah will have the grace to be humiliated by this freakshow, but who are we kidding? She has no grace or cognitive skills to realize or appreciate what a disaster this candidate is.
ReplyDeleteObdurate Sarah will go down touting the wisdom of forgoing the vetting process, after all, she'd be nothing without it.
Andrew Halcro may not have beat Sarah in the three-way Gubernatorial race of 2006, but he sure has been a beautiful foil to her unchecked ambitions.
ReplyDeleteChalk his blog up for this win (no offense Gryph) for he asked pointedly from the beginning, why Joe was let go from the FNSB long before the Primary.
Of course, the Alaskan blog community is the gift that keeps on giving to civic minded folks.
Read the whole report, and its dupes. Joe comes off as a self-centered twit trying to bully and scheme his way to time off. Was he really that valuable, especially when he had the conflict of interest between the FNSB and his client? With this kind of background, he is catnip for the players like the now-jailed Jack Abrams.
ReplyDeleteGryphen said "You know usually Senators start off fairly ethic and then are corrupted by the power and influence of lobbyist money they find there. But Joe Miller comes pre-corrupted and we already KNOW how unethical and untrustworthy he will be."
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of a guy I knew who once told me, "When I married my first two wives, they were straight as could be and turned into drunks. So my third wife, I married an alcoholic and hoped she'd turn straight."
That plan didn't work out too well for him, he's on wife #4 now.
Rick
And off topic, Dancing With the Pregnant Hillbillies is officially rigged. Bristol the "Flat Footed" Pistol was saved again.
ReplyDelete"fairly ethic" needs to be "fairly ethical" - right?
ReplyDeleteWell, we pretty much knew that he did this since Jim Whitaker came out and said he did.
ReplyDeleteOf even more interest to me is his apparent disability and possible payments from the government (which he may also get for his wife and each of his eight children?) If Joe Miller is getting thousands of dollars from the government every month, in addition to the Medicaid, Denali Kidcare, Unemployment, etc..........can you please show me someone (anyone!) that has actually gotten more government assistance than he has? bt
This is the kind of person we want for a US Senator? Come on Alaska!!! We are better than that.
ReplyDeleteScott McAdams is all about Alaska, not what's in it for him like the other two. Go Scott!!!! Go Alaska!!!
Gryph, scratch this if it's already posted -- Alaska Dispatch has pdf's of the released documents:
ReplyDeletehttp://alaskadispatch.com/images/media/files/court_ordered_documents_to_be_released_10-26-10-alaska_dispatch.pdf
Miller appears to have a short fuse. A man with a short fuse with militia connections? Literally, the guy seems dangerous.
ReplyDeleteIn 2010 Joe Miller has demonstrated that he did not learn his lessons. Joe Miller has been going to extreme measures cutting his own nose off refusing interviews, press, going so far to hire a take down squad of disreputable persons,an alleged arrest, false allegations of a reporter, putting himself hostage to Fox News, essentially slamming the door on media that would have mostly been fair to him, law suits, spread poisonous lies about people, inadvertently exposed more shady goings on, militia connections....it goes on and on.
ReplyDeleteClearly Joe Miller did not learn Honesty is the best Policy even after his transgressions. Joe Miller does not give a ##@! or flying f#@! about anyone except getting what he wants by cheating, lying and wrecking other's jobs, careers, causing problems, putting people in compromising positions or pay the price if they tell the truth unwillinging to compromise their integrity to keep Joe's secrets... People like Joe Miller and such ilk drag people around them down too.
Now we know why Sarah Palin got behind him, for birds of a feather flock together and approve of such patterns that leave a trail of wreckage...destruction in their wake.
Sarah Palin's tweeting..doing her thing Go Joe GO to Fox..like Christine ODonnell..and what Palin does..bashing and demonizing all other meida...well IMO this blows the truth out of the water that also Fox is a foxhole for the most unethical, slimey and corrupt..Fox is a safe harbor for the weak, unscroupulous, corrput...it's a safe harbor for the real moles and snakes to slither amongst selves.
TO 8:11 PM:
ReplyDeleteNo joke! I'm done with that show. Seriously, Bristol forgot her effing routine and she gets 6's? Are you kidding me? She should have gotten three 3's for that monkey poop.
This is not who we need for a US senator. Alaska can do better than this guy. Scott McAdams is all about Alaska; not like the other two who are in it for themselves. I'm voting for Scott McAdams. Go Alaska!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope when this is thoroughly covered in local and national news
ReplyDeletethat Palin as endorsee is also exposed reporting her tweets and rhetoric that people are lyin' makin' stuff up about Miller.
I remember what Steve Schmidt
said about Sarah Palin, that she believes she can lie about anything including easily learned truths e.g. Todd's involvement in the AIP. Palin is vindictive due to delusional entitlement beliefs demanding others agree to lie or she throws people under her bus, backs it up to run over them again.
The saying is true: give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves. It is a matter of time with Palin also, the sooner the better.
Gryphen, I read a comment on another blog that mentioned in the documents a reference to 'Wald'. The commentor mentioned a Wald in Achorage - a psychiatrist.
ReplyDeleteI read about 20 pages of the document release on ADN site. Wald was mentioned in the first few pages I believe.
OT, I don't like what I'm hearing from David Brock of Media Matters. He is calling for Palin to refudiate Beck. He says she's the only person who can pull this country together.
ReplyDeletePlease. We don't need any liberal do-gooders giving Palin advice on how to take over the planet.
O/T- For those fretting about Audrina being let go from DWTS, not to worry. She's just been given her own reality series w/ Mark Burnett & she needs to get to work. If you need any more proof that DWTS is rigged... (For more on her new show on VH1 go to Deadline.com)
ReplyDeletemiller also had tax problems, more of them.
ReplyDeletehttp://alaskadispatch.com/dispatches/politics/7250-joe-millers-mysterious-mat-su-hideaway
I can't resist commenting on this attempt at damage control during the debate, when Miller knew this was coming:
ReplyDelete"I've gone through trials. I've not always had a silver spoon," he said. "I've had challenges in life and that gives them an empathy for where I'm at, and I think that's a value that I bring to the table."
Joe, you had challenges, you failed, and you tried to hide from the consequences. These were not indiscretions of youth committed long ago; they were committed only a few years ago when you were past forty.
Empathizing with another fallible human being is one thing; trusting you to represent Alaskans faithfully for the next six years is something else. Alaskans have the right to proof of years of upright, honest living before trusting you again.
Magellan does not specialize in PTSD. They are behavioral health whores who go to whatever issues can make them the most money at amy given time. They specialize in denying claims and making money.
ReplyDeleteJoe Miller's Extreme Views On Gay Rights (VIDEO)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/26/joe-miller-gay-rights_n_774492.html
Miller tried to avoid saying whether he believes homosexuality is a choice, confusingly stating, "I think that's up to the individual. The individual has to make that decision."
"About whether or not they're gay, or about whether or not they believe that?" Maddow asked. Miller followed-up with a long pause, and then responded, "I'm not going to intrude upon an individual's decision as to what he or she does. The fact of the matter is it's a state issue. That's our position in the campaign. That's our answer to your question. We're increasingly a diverse country. I want to be straight with you. And as a diverse country, I think it's important that we recognize that there are different approaches to different values. And I think it's best for states to be able to make those choices."
Just a few moments later, however, Miller made clear that he's completely fine with the federal government being allowed to "intrude upon an individual's decision as to what he or she does," saying he would back a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage:
Gryphen, I'll see you in DC! I'm going to Malia Littman's book signing at Borders Books 1801 K St. NW at 6;30 ! We should all meet there!
ReplyDeleteCrazy fun night in Alaska!!
ReplyDeleteSuck it up Joe........ you are a no go!!
Rachel has more class and smarts than your hole tea party team.
Joe, you had your moment to get real with a national figure who has a political talk show and you blew it badly! Yet your team was high fiveing and calling you a rock star. So said, so very sad....
While I don't want this guy in the US Senate for at least another 10 years, I almost feel sorry for him. His exploiters did not vet him or they have expected him to crack all along, just later. This man has been through some trauma and his West Point and Ivy League education can't help someone bent on self destruction. I can see his puppet masters playing with his ego and laughing at him behind his back. Palin and Parnell and his "friends" back East goaded him into this, encouraging him to keep going when he may have known better.
ReplyDeleteMay God save the man and may this Senate seat go to the adult in the race who has Alaska in mind and who will reach across the aisle to do what is best for Alaska and the USA.
it appears that sarah has stopped picking at that bump in her chin long enough to have a 'rally' for joe in alaska...
ReplyDeleteit just came out.
this cant be good if they gotta bring out the sludge.
tick tock. mr miller. tick tock.
Joe Miller unscrupulously and sneakily accessed other people's computers, tried to rig political polling on said computers, cleared the computer caches to cover up his unethical acts, AND then lied over and over about what he did!
ReplyDeleteHe was an ADULT when he did this, not some 15 year old kid who made a mistake in judgment. As an adult liar, he's now hardwired for dishonesty. Once a liar, always a liar. He does NOT qualify for the esteemed position of a US Senator! Disgusting behavior! No wonder Sarah Palin endorsed him. She's no better than he is. Both of them are ouright effing liars!!!!
Somebody needs to hold Joe down & make him shave!!! What is with this scruffy beard bullshit. YUK!!
ReplyDeleteThis, is what miller did: WC is spot on.
ReplyDeletehttp://wickershamsconscience.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/what-miller-did-law-and-ethics/
Miller was trying to boost himself into the R state chair, by voting for himself.
He'd also somehow deleted emails from 06-09, per the pg 29/pdfs. Makes me wonder if he wasnt doing this for SP, too. His BFF.
The pdfs re his behavior in the office read like nurse's notes from a psych ward.
It was one issue after another with him. He was going to be fired, but 'chose' to resign.
Just like the mil service.
He was sent for counseling after the hacking episodes.
It wasnt 'just some polls', joe.
It was "ballot stuffing".
And it is illegal.
No surprise, the peetards still support Miller. Apparently ethics and honor mean nothing to Palin-worshipers. No real surprise there, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI started looking at the files from Alaska Dispatch. The first thing I noticed is that you have to read the last page because the first page is the last email sent it is mostly in order but they do skip around a little bit. They thought he might have a conflict of interest. Then he had a medical leave and was supposed to go on vacation after. They cancelled his vacation and Joe was mad. He then decided that if they wanted him to show up for work than he was going to resign. Page 52-51 user account are very telling. They talk about missing emails. Page 50 they start to worry about Joe and don't want anybody to CC Joe in the emails anymore. Also on page 50 at the bottom of the first email "This behavior is bizarre." I wonder if Joe had surgery? I have read almost all of the emails and they show Joe to be very strange and stupid man.
ReplyDeleteGreat reporting Gryph, but I agree with another poster, your headline (and every headline involving Joe Miller), should read - Sarah Palin-endorsed candidate Joe Miller".
ReplyDeleteAnd in regards to DWTS, of course it's rigged ! EVERY reality show is scripted.
And to the palinbot who bragged about voting for Bristol 63 times - GET A LIFE !!
>Borough attorney Rene Broker said Tuesday that her understanding is that Miller was indeed voting in a poll on his own website. Broker said that, presumably, he was using polling software that required each vote to come from a separate computer but she doesn't have knowledge of that.
ReplyDeleteSo, if the poll was on Joe Miller's own web site, why would anyone take its results seriously?
He sure was squirelly when Rachel Maddow was interviewing him.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to the entire show from the Taproot.
I just emailed it to some Dem friends who want to vote for Murkowski.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/
pass it around Alaskans!
I read all those papers last night and they are very interesting. A lot of them are duplicated but you need to read them closely. There is something very interesting that is hinted to in these e-mails.
ReplyDeleteo/t Tripp is in Alaska as of yesterday. He probably flew with Sarah Monday evening
ReplyDeleteMiller's behavior is weird stuff for a service academy graduate, Yale Law graduate (except for Clarence Thomas), and licensed attorney, all of which have honor codes and some of which kick you out for "moral turpitude," which includes lying.
ReplyDeleteThat said, looks like the Magellan health deal was because of this incident, probably because the borough acknowledged Miller was under stress, and I don't want to try to read more into it.
So he is dishonest, mean, disses but receives government subsidies, and thinks rules don't apply to him. Palin has found her Mini-Me.
Give us some idea of hwo all this is playing out amongst the people. Surely the "can't fool all of the people all of the time" is kicking in.(I won't be surprised if it's not, however.)
ReplyDeleteCan you post the Rachel Maddow Show segment where she is chasing after Joe Miller, he is in full avoidance mode, full rudeness mode, barely glancing at her as he gives breathles sound bites, and once he gets to the safety of his limo, he gives her a rueful "thumbs up" from behind the security of the tinted glass windows? THAT speaks volumes. He was fraidy-scared of Rachel!
ReplyDeleteWhat a slime ball this Miller is:
ReplyDelete"Miller reportedly told Dolan he had not violated the borough’s computer policy and in fact said his coworkers violated the borough’s policy by not securing their own computers.
Miller did not access the computer belonging to his supervisor, Broker, because her screen was locked and he did not know her password, Dolan wrote.
Later in the afternoon, Miller repeatedly apologized to Dolan and told her that he would contact the webmaster for his site, joemiller.us, and have the opinion poll changed so that it closed before he entered the extra votes.
The next morning, the poll was altered to only reflect percentages and not actual votes, Dolan wrote.
Read more: Fairbanks Daily News-Miner - Records Joe Miller lied about accessing others computers "
Why is nobody asking palin is she KNEW what Miller did?
ReplyDeleteHe was naive to think he could protect his privacy; hence his ability to serve?
ReplyDeleteJoe Miller: I ran for U.S. Senate and all I got was disbarred.
Kevin @ 9:26 - you are so right. This wasn't a Levi Johnston "Youthful Indisgressions" situation. It was a former military officer and Ivy League attorney at the helm of unethical and self-serving blunders.
ReplyDeleteWe all know plenty of people, including ourselves born without a silver spoon and happen to live highly functioning, contributing and moral lives.
Joe's alarming characteristics demonstrated from his West Point days onward reflect not only a poorly constructed adult man, but a dangerous and destructive individual who makes up his own rules to excuse his failures.
Sarah Palin and Joe Miller belong together, as Alaskan outcasts.
Page 40 of the personnel records describing J Millers crimes:
ReplyDelete"honest @ the end"
"Lack of judgment"
"just stupid-no excuse"
"un-flippin believable, his actions"
"invasion of privacy"
That this man has made it this far is amazing and sad.
Palin has been palling around with Joe Miller since 2006, maybe earlier.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin, we know what Joe knew about your unethical, self-serving actions / MO. What did you know of Joe's?
You both do not belong in the public arena.
And to the palinbot who bragged about voting for Bristol 63 times - GET A LIFE !!
ReplyDeleteReally BUFFALO, you want to talk about someone needing to get a life when you are busy commenting on some random opinion blog. ha, the whole country's delusional
I've checked in on this blog a couple times because Gryphen has had some pretty interesting takes on national politics in the past. But now it's like he's a Maddow panty sniffer and thats sad. Expand your journalistic horizons. Not just left wing crazies
Miller DID access Broker's computer, although he said he didn't, because otherwise how would he know that her screen was locked? In contrast to the others, whose screens were not locked.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what strikes me about this is not that he used other people's computers (which was definitely wrong but just happened once) but that he deleted years' worth of public records. On top of that, he was generally a jerk even though his co-workers were bending over backwards to make sure everything was done right.
ReplyDelete"...He maintained the whole time he did not violate the computer use policy and that actually all o fus did for not securing our computers."
ReplyDeleteAha!! So it was their fault!!!
I'm HIPPA certified and let me tell you, many things are covrered under the rules (and new rules). You can't release who the docotr is, or the type or amount of insurnace you are paying.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this is an interesting avenue to look into--FMLA is not covered under HIPPA!!
The ADN article link provided at C4P was an eye opener that Joe resorted to crazy making and then to turn things around his coworker breached protocol and violated policy i.e she was guilty of his wrong doing and it was her fault someone tampered with her computer...Miller buried her in his personal shit.
ReplyDeleteLet us not forget what Beck and Palin cooked up on the radio about who's moral compass was absent and gone long ago. Palin, Beck, Miller, and their ilk perceive others as extensions of self except they have mental defects others are their reflection and they are the moral opposite. They are Jekyll Hydes attributing their Mr. Hyde to other people.
I expect Palin to escalate her campaign the lamestream media lies, people are makin stuff up about Miller.
It was also an eye opener to read the C4P post editing Miller's behaviors and consequences to others recently and since the 2008 incident. Palin's fan base sees nothing wrong with these behaviors, they disregard harm to others and suffer sincere delusions that all people are like them and people will by majority elect Miller.
The C4P's poster declaring she "will not go along with the charade", the alleged charade is speculation Joe has damaged his chances.
Someone needs to ground the Peebots in reality so they can prepare to have a dollhouse manufactured in a replica of the whitehouse, with a Fox studio addition, Palin family doll house figures, A Bristol doll people can purchase alter career kits of, an Energy Expert kit with fake world's largest pipeline etc. so they can continue to play pretend.
Only at C4P would people say "I suppose since Thatcher has dementia, they'll say she is not in control of her faculties!" perceiving dementia as they chose it would serve them and their leader. Nothing is what it is to Palin's fan base.
Unwanted personal truths for Palin and her ilk are turned around as made up lies to attack them. they have no conscience to lie, and lie again, incriminate other people seeking to nail others with their wrongs, sins, acts, impersonate God and goodness to hide their weakness and evilnes. They are entitled to do this also.
Anon post at 5:38am:
ReplyDelete"Miller DID access Broker's computer, although he said he didn't, because otherwise how would he know that her screen was locked? In contrast to the others, whose screens were not locked."
GREAT CATCH!!
Anon 9:06pm correction - I posted the name Wald - Should have been 'Wade'
I hope this sinks him with most voters. He comes off as an arrogant, whiny cretin who tries to take advantage of his employer and gets adversarial at the slightest hint of disagreement. I would certainly not hire him after seeing these records. Curious to see what kind of spin his supporters are gonna put on this.
ReplyDeleteChenagrrl - you're not reading dupes - you're reading emails being replied to a few times - so each time it has the previous email.
ReplyDeleteGryphen - I saw all of you! And it was so cool !!! Do it again!!! And thank you so much for this post I followed it all day while at work :)
"I explained to him I am not a political person and that I did not appreciate him injecting me into this mess by making it look like I voted in some poll to oust Ruedrich," Dolan wrote in her statement.
ReplyDeleteShe wrote that Miller later told his co-workers he was going to contact the webmaster for the opinion poll and have the results changed back to noon, just before he used his co-workers' computers.
"At some point he told us he called the webmaster but that the webmaster was on the road and could not do it right then. I went to the site after he left for the day, joemiller.us, and it states it is hosted and designed by Joe Miller," she wrote.
Dolan wrote that she looked the next day and saw the poll was changed to give percentages instead of actual votes, and was listed as being current as of noon the prior day. "I emailed (the borough attorney) and told her I did not want Joe at work."
This seems pretty damning to me- and just another lie that Miller told his colleagues.
Ah, look at Anon 5:31 claiming that previously he found this blog interesting . . . . .but now . . . . .
ReplyDeleteTroll, bot, hypocrite. And aren't YOU commenting on some random blog?
Next.
as sad as it is Joe Miller is going to be our next senator. Alaska has been duped before and we just never learn. We have a lot of ignorant voters who will go into that booth next week and check Joe just because he has a R in front of his name
ReplyDeleteMy career is in human resources - I know about companies like Magellan that provide EAP services (Employee Assistance Programs) to companies.
ReplyDeleteMost of the services provided to an employee are confidential and are not reported to the employer. The only situations I am familiar with that report back to the employer are when employees are required by their employer to use the EAP's services as part of a "last chance agreement", i.e. in order to retain employment, you must go through this program. The EAP doesn't give a lot of details - only tells employers if the employee participated in the program within the structure and timeline required.
The only time I've ever used this type of agreement is when an employee has a drug or alcohol problem that affects their performance, and the employee says that their drug/alcohol addiction is a disability.
Just sayin'...
Love the main page. Do you think it will always be this way?
ReplyDelete
