Sarah Palin tells Mark Levin that the wind blew her famous fence down and calls Joe McGinniss a "freak."

The "freak" comment comes before the first minute of the interview and immediately follows Levin referring to the respected author as a "jerk."  Palin demonstrates her lack of class and common decency at every turn.

Palin also mentions having a "strong work ethic" which is amazing coming from a woman who quit halfway through her last job.

Her nastiness towards Murkowski is as ugly as anything I have ever heard, and she completely mislabels Lisa Murkowski as "pretty far left" when in fact the real lefties were pissed off at her for being in the pocket of the energy companies.  And NO Murkowski does not have the backing of the liberals, or the Democrats, or the union...wait.....did she call them thugs?

Yeah Joe Miller really wants to be left alone by government.  Is that why he accepted $7,000 in federal farm subsidies for land in Kansas? And is THAT why he accepted a $77,400 state loan from the Agricultural Revolving Loan Fund to purchase land he never intended to farm in Alaska?  I guess Joe Miller wants to be left alone by big government unless he wants some free money from them.

At the 7:55 mark Levin gets Sarah to admit that she and Todd fantasize about "kicking butt" on the people who give them trouble.  Todd Palin kicking butt?  To steal a phrase from Sarah Palin, "Have you seen Todd?" I don't think there are too many people worried about meeting Todd Palin in a dark alley.

Sarah goes on to hawk her new book.  You know the one that features the work of other authors that her publisher cobbled together and had Sarah put her name on so that they could make the most amount of money from the smallest amount of effort?  (By the way that should be Palin's signature statement, "The most profit, from the least effort.") She then goes onto brag about how she "pounded how special and unique the American experiment is into her kids heads, and hearts, and their soul," but worries that other parents may not be pushing the idea of American exceptionalism into their children's heads.

In Palin's world that is probably the very definition of bad parenting.  Don't bother teaching them about sex, or respecting the property of others, or avoiding substance abuse, just make damn sure they know by God that American is the greatest country on the planet!  Everything else will just take care of itself.

I don't think she talks about how great America is to her kids any more than she teaches them about abstinence, hard work, personal responsibility or ethics but I'm sure she like to think she does. Just as with most kids, they learn from her example more than by what she says. That's how they have become such paragons of virtue as they enter adulthood.

I couldn't listen past the part where she says it's an Alaskan thing to be tough. With all due respect, Gryphen, to the Alaskans who have TRULY toughed it out up there, Mrs. Palin couldn't last three days in New York City or Chicago or Philadelphia or Los Angeles. Being able to shoot a gun does not a hero make! Her "freak" remark in reference to a man who has written LOVINGLY of the state she calls home is especially telling...Sarah Palin is sooooooooo afraid of what Joe McGinniss is going to write about her that she may be coming unglued over it. HALLELUJAH! May her fear and envy of others be her undoing.

  7. Todd isn't very large and his handshake is, uh, bland. He is fit, though.

If I had my choice of going three rounds in the ring for a charity with Todd or with Dan Fagan, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Dan. But I'd have no problem accepting the charity challenge with Todd either, even though I'm 20 years older.

That being said, I really do resent blanket anti-Valley comments here, at The Mudflats, and at Palingates. My wife and I held a fundraiser for the Berkowitz-Benson campaign last night here in Wasilla, that drew over 60, and raised thousands. And every day the Mat-Su Democrats are out there in Wasilla, Palmer and in between, waving signs for our statewide candidates, and for our progressives running in this Tuesday's election.

  9. I didn't listen to this--I don't need to. Life is short. But teaching her children about American exceptionalism? Please, I think that means that she taught them that to consider wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with "at least I'm white" would be a good Christian philosophy to live by. This freak show needs to be sent on its way.

Palin wants the kids to "OBEY". If she's got that, then no need to pound anything into their little heads about "exceptionalism" because they are already brainwashed to believe whatever Mommie Dearest tells them.

As for the fence falling, perhaps it just means Palin has smarten up and bought the house next door. After building her own monstrosity ten feet from the neighbor, she has zero right to whine about the people who choose to live there.

  14. Also too, two years ago she'd never heard the word "exceptionalism." I just love the way she is taught a new phrase and runs all over the planet misusing and misinterpreting it. So comical. Or how the Gov intentionally did not treat syphilis in Black Americans so the Gov could study how the disease progressed withnot treatment?
Does Sarah consider torture to be exceptionalism, as she sees the meaning of that word? Or slavery, or an incredibly high rate of rape, especially of young girls and boys?

Joe McGinness is, and always has been, a gifted writer. Calling him a "freak" is Palin's way to discredit him before he releases his book about her--with truths, I'm sure, she doesn't want anyone to believe. 32. If she talks up America to her kids, it's no doubt in regard to how easily Americans can be duped into giving away their money, how easy it is, in the era of reality TV, to make money for being a nobody, and how to step on and over people to claw your way to the top. That's the Palin American way!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous6:44 PM

If that fence blowing down speaks to Todd's handy man skills, I'd watch out for the shingles on the roof and the railing that he installed in the house.

As for Sarah pounding a message into her kids, I wonder what she taught them about sex, drugs, not quitting, not breaking into houses that don't belong to you, the list goes on.

We will have to wait for the book to come out, and I hope by now it's too late for Sarah to include the most important chapter of all, "Lessons that Trig taught to us." After more than two years living with a disabled child, we should be hearing about his therapy. He should be reading about his grit and determination to do the common everyday things that you and I can do, such as feed ourselves, or drink from a glass without dripping. I can't wait to hear about how he continues to be a Gift from God, and a Blessing for the Palin Family, how he inspires them every day with his pure, simple loving attitude.

Oh, sorry about that, writing the most important chapter for Sarah. Just remember, if it looks like they rushed out an extra chapter and and it sounds like something you read at IM, you heard it from me first.

It will culminate with The Return to Sanity Rally. In order for a return to sanity, someone, in addition to Stewart, has to be brave enough to fully identify and call out the large pink elephant in the room as Taibbi and Steven Thrasher have done. First,Tea and Crackers, by Matt 'My Hero' Taibbi in Rolling Stone. Next up, The Village Voice provides a great article titled White America Has Lost Its Mind by Steven Thrasher. Even the artwork is eerily similar for both articles. The only difference is that one shows the heads of the puppet masters behind the scenes and the other simply depicts the behinds!

With the poor construction of the fence, it's a wonder it didn't come down sooner, Joe McGinniss is actually pretty nice, which is more than I can say for her, the liberals and unions are not supporting Lisa (they have their own candidate, thanks) and since when is a woman who has voted with the Republicans 85% of the time a liberal (never mind the fact that Palin herself is no conservative, as her record clearly shows). For anonymous at 7:16, I am a fiscally conservative woman, who loves her country, and who would love to see a qualified woman in the white house, but who will fight hard for the good of my country to keep the obnoxious, uneducated, lying bimbette that is Palin out of it.

There is absolutely nothing "exceptional" about Sarah, Todd, and their children except that they are examples of a certain kind of ugly American, the kind that claim to be superior to others, yet are only superior in their ability to be mediocre at best.

There are children and young people all across this country who are working hard to better themselves through education and who are good to others without wanting anything in return. And, as far as parenting goes, there are hundreds of moms and dads in my kids' elementary school, alone, that do a much, much better job than Sarah and Todd teaching their children right from wrong and to have a "good work ethic." And not one of them has to go on radio or television to shout the fact from the rooftops as Sarah does.

The downfall of this clown of a woman cannot come too soon for me.

As usual, Sarah's strategy is to try to discredit her detractors through insults and lies. It shows how emotionally and intellectually immature she is.

Joe McG's book will come out no matter what Sarah says and it will not show her in a good light (in other words, it will be honest) and there's nothing Sarah can do about it.

    Three cheers for *8:41
I was in Colorado a few years back, walking past a park. There was a Civil war re-actment of one of the battles going 0n. As I stood there,a little man came jogging over to the fence, asked me if I knew what was taking place. Said: sure. My Great Great Grandfather was in the battle for Atlanta and with Sherman on his march in the So. Showed him the wedding ring from that time I wear. He turned around and ran back to where he came from. Apparently, could not stand to talk to a real live ancestor, who had family who fought in this war, the South wanted, got and lost....the glorious South, which to this day can not, admit defeat...

So it's LeVIN, not LEvin? LOL. Too jewish sounding for him?

It's a crazy, crazy, nonsensical interview. She's got "thick skin" and "bites her tongue?" Since when?

And they're suggesting Todd should beat up people? Well, so far he's done pretty well up against women schoolteachers, and older guys in airports dropping their wives off,...let's see how well he does against some of those good, old fashioned Italian union members they like to trash so much (i.e. union thugs). I'd like to see a fair fight between Todd and one of our guys someday.

The Palins are not only bullies, but liars and thugs too.

I am so tired of this woman. She's really jumped the shark but we're too busy being annoyed at her to notice.

Oh and btw, it was real obvious that this interview, while it admittedly hit all the Repub talking points and included all the latest phrases to come rolling out of the Rove discredit machine (Union thugs, etc),...was clearly about one thing - Sarah hawking her book. So that was kinda awkward for her, imo anyway. She's becoming shallower by the week.

I'd say she is lying about the fence..a person that needs to lie about every little thing in their life ..has mental issues..she is a mental case.

If Levi wins mayor race... does he get a free house on the lake also?

If somebody does investigating.. maybe Sarah will be in jail before Iowa rolls around.

Wasilla isn't the sticks. My mother grew up on a homestead in Palmer when Palmer was barely a town. The Mat-Su is practically a suburb these days.
What takes grit is to give your kids the benefit of good education, an open mind, solid boundaries, and a good example of you living an ethical, hard-working life. Does that sound like Sarah? No, I don't think so either.

I hope she keeps saying nasty things about Joe McGinniss, it will only help him sell more copies of his book!

She only just discovered the word 'exceptionalism' and how to pronounce it without mushing some other word into it(think refudiate), so she hasn't really had enough time to understand the meaning of it.

  82. Seriously, if Palin said "dog shit is delicious," you'd have dozens of Palin-bots putting together dog shit sandwiches and happily chowing down. Because if their Queen says something, no matter how fucking stupid, they must defend it.

I guess Mini-Palin Christine O'Donnell has taught her nothing. If she runs for President, we can run all the clips of her insulting all segments of the voting public. That will gain her A LOT of votes, right? Ha. Ha.

Looks like someone has been studying up on American history with phrases like the American Experiment, etc...

Here in New England, children are taught American history in grade school. Hopefully Sarah will be able to help Piper with her homework now.

I noticed how Sarah occasionally uses a "gravelly sound" to her voice when she intonates a word. Like when Tony Tiger says, "It's grrrrrr-eat!

A psychologist would have a great time analyzing that. At some points, her voice goes into seductive kitten, to prankish girlish, then slows down to 3 year-old soft baby talk.

    Anyone else notice this?

My issue with the divorce rumors are:

the ideas for the compound began in early 2009. Why would they build another huge house, containing a swanky office (ive seen it, it's pretty sweet), a hanger, and an apartment if they aren't planning on staying together? Nope I really don't buy it. I know Sarah has said theyve considered owning/renting a residence in the lower 48 for travel purposes and her work, but it doesn't explain the massive addition to their Alaskan property. I've only witnessed pure love from them, in person and pictures. You can tell the difference between a staged kiss and real one, also affection. It's real. and that whole family reminds me of my family. Love em to death, despite normal drama and changes.

Anon 2:52, ever hear of dysfunction? It exists within families that express love to one another.

Given the reports of their sometimes volatile relationship, under normal circumstances, they would have divorced. But they're a political family, and political families stay together. There's too much money, power, and shared information. (They each know where the bodies are buried). So I don't expect to see a divorce anytime soon.

There's something wrong with Sarah, imo, outside of relationship issues. I used to live with someone who was bipolar, and I recognize some of the same traits. But I never rag on Sarah about her parenting skills, because it's my guess she loves her kids but is way too unbalanced to sit home and knit. She needs to wander, needs to pursue obsessive goals, - it has a smoothing out effect. Like a shark which will physically drown unless it keeps moving, keeps hunting, Sarah must also be on the move.

She has a little too much pent up rage for her own good, though. We see it in her outbursts, but also in small movements. When I watched the speech at the college, right before she went to the podium she slammed down on her pen. I saw her do the same thing when she was younger, in the video showing one of her sports broadcasts. She held a pen tensely and rapped it down on the table. So, whatever it is, she's had it her whole life.

I just got back from my cabin on Lake Lucille. Half her fence really did blow down in that big windstorm! But didn't we all predict it? I don't think people can really appreciate how hideous that fence is, and how monstrously huge the compound looks until they drive up the driveway of the house that McGinniss rented.

Seriously, if I was the owner, I'd be building a viewing platform and renting the place to every tabloid out there, as well as charge tourists $10 to sit on the deck for five minutes. The Palin's have totally devalued their neighbors formerly lovely property! bt

Hmmmm: " She then goes on to brag about how she "pounded how special and unique the American experiment is into her kids heads, and hearts, and their soul," but worries that other parents may not be pushing the idea of American exceptionalism into their children's heads. "

I pounded into my daughter's head that she shouldn't act like a slut in heat and get knocked up.

I pounded into my son's head that he damn well better keep his pants zipped and if he didn't, he'd take care of the baby.

I figured they could learn about American exceptionalism on their own.

    It worked.
