Somebody might need to tell Joe the Teabagger that his plans for rejecting Federal dollars in favor of the "vast wealth beneath our feet" might be even more ignorant than we all thought.

From CNN:

The U.S. Geological Survey says a revised estimate for the amount of conventional, undiscovered oil in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska is a fraction of a previous estimate.

The group estimates about 896 million barrels of such oil are in the reserve, about 90 percent less than a 2002 estimate of 10.6 billion barrels.

The new estimate is mainly due to the incorporation of new data from recent exploration drilling revealing gas occurrence rather than oil in much of the area, the geological survey said.

"These new findings underscore the challenge of predicting whether oil or gas will be found in frontier areas," USGS Director Dr. Marcia McNutt said in a statement. "It is important to re-evaluate the petroleum potential of an area as new data becomes available."

The organization also estimates 8 trillion cubic feet less gas than a 2002 estimate of 61 trillion cubic feet of undiscovered, conventional, non-associated gas -- meaning gas found in discrete accumulations with little to no crude oil in the reservoir.

Whoops!  Don't you just hate in when your poorly researched and fantasy based ideas for moving the state away from the Obama socialist Federal money turns out to be nothing more than an AIP endorsed wet dream?

"There's a hell of a lot less what?"

So Mr. "We don't need no stinking Federal dollars," what's plan B?

And there are no "hungry markets" in the lower 48 because of the two huge shale finds in TX and PA/NY.

So, guess she has to keep lying.

Gryphen, do you really think Miller & Palin will give a shit about a survey whose results don't fulfill the needs for their future plans? Of course not. They'll classify it as a "liberal" survey, or say President Obama is behind it because he doesn't want to give up any of the federal lands to Alaska. Miller & Palin both think those land tracts that belong to the U.S. will be reverting back to the people of Alaska. That's why I think the AIP is pushing nuts like these two to get them in a position where they can help make such a thing happen.

I knew as soon as I read that article last night that Palin would soon talk it up as not being realistic considering she's the "person in this country who knows the most about energy" according to McCain. Also, did you know she'll long be remembered for all the work she's done for energy independence long after we're dead? That's according to the cult at C4P. That pedestal they have her on is getting higher and higher!!

I have a proposal for "plan B": instead of passing out checks to Alaskans, who pay no state taxes, how about putting that money into Alaska's infrastructure needs? Alaskans pay no state taxes, get refunds anyway, and then expect those of us in the lower 48 to fund all of their projects. And we actually pay state as well as federal taxes. How exactly is this fair?

    Pebble Mine?
    Arctic Drilling?
    Offshore Drilling?

Wouldn't it be nice to save some of these natural resources for future generations?

Miller has 8 kids he seemingly can't afford to raise (without illegal and/or unethical use of "entitlements) - you want a plan B when this guy was obviously too stupid to develop a real plan A- even in his personal life?

    This makes no difference.

The plan is take control of the State of Alaska, secede from the U.S., institute talibangelical law as their pastor tells them , and have the biggest fuckin garage sale ever.

Skimming a few percent along the way will make all participants on the grift side rich and powerful beyond their doublewidest dreams.

So this little scientific survey might prove that the state is screwed as far as future oil revenues- but grifters can still get rich by seizing and developing what is there.

Maybe Joe and Sarah can go to a graduate institute and learn about alternative energy solutions - perhaps cold fusion - since the domestic oil capacity will never ever ever meet demand.

I think the AIP and the Palins are behind Joe's run. After $arah screwed up her opportunity to get elected to higher office, Joe became their best chance.

A news flash for Joe, if he thinks the lower 48 is going to give up the Federal lands in Alaska, he's crazy. Because of $arah, people in the lower 48 now know about the situation in Alaska and how much of the taxpapers' money has gone there for infrastructure and pork, while Alaskans each received an annual check from the Permanent Fund.

Most of us in the lower 48 like Alaskan and won't be giving it away any time soon.

I'm all for voting Murkoski out and changing the guard in Alaska.

    Alaska is a welfare state.

It gets back $1.85 for every $1.00 it contributes in Federal Tax money.

That means it's subsidized by the other states like MA, CA, and NY. States where those taxpayers would like to keep their money.

Ask Joe Miller to refuse any additional federal tax dollars.

    Help defeat socialism in Alaska.
