President Obama receives 12 stitches after blow from elbow during basketball game delivered by Hispanic player. Sarah Palin immediately takes to Facebook and claims America under attack by Mexico.

Okay I made that last part up.

Apparently the President received a fairly serious split lip during the game from an opposing team member.  These things happen during contact sports.

Here is the video of Obama leaving the gym and going to receive care from the White House Medical Unit.

According to the Huffington Post:

"After being inadvertently hit with an opposing player's elbow in the lip while playing basketball with friends and family, the President received 12 stitches today administered by the White House Medical Unit. They were done in the doctor's office located on the ground floor of the White House."

The White House announced the culprit who elbowed Obama in the lip earlier today: Rey Decerega, who is the director of programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Decerega said in a statement that the game was all in good fun (and didn't apologize):

"I learned today the president is both a tough competitor and a good sport. I enjoyed playing basketball with him this morning. I'm sure he'll be back out on the court again soon," Decerega said.

Speaking of Palin, you just KNOW if this same incident had happened to her she would have milked it for all of the sympathy she could, and then her rabid flying monkeys would have started sending the person who elbowed her threatening e-mails demanding that they apologize IN WRITING and then claimed the whole thing was planned by the "Lamestream media."

Watch for Obama to come out in the next couple of days and make a joke about it and most likely take the blame.

Have I said recently how glad I am that this man is our President?

You may have made the last part up, but it is not outside the realm of possibility where Palin is concerned.

Prepare for a Palin near-death experience so that she can one-up the President.

Sociopaths are constantly looking to garner pity and sympathy from normal people WITH a conscience. Based on the behavior by Palin and her family, they clearly fall into this category. They seem to enjoy baing the victim. Obama doesn't even use this excuse.

I am so grateful that President Obama is such a great guy. Intelligent, educated, hard working, decent, good ethics, good morals, great family, killer sense of humor. He gives my soul peace and comfort. Gods Bless him and keep him and give him strength to carry on.

Sarah Palin makes President Obama seem even more intelligent, more compassionate, more full of grace and light every time she attacks him or just opens her mouth or releases a Twit or a FB rant. She reminds us how lucky we are that he and Biden beat her and McCain. Wow - I count my blessings every day that she is out scamming the bots and a heartbeat away from the Presidency (oh, my, I think McCain ought to be counting his blessings as well because had they won, he wouldn't be around any more. At least that's my hunch.)

A President Palin would be taken immediately to The Prayer Warrior Department of Medicine office on the ground floor of the White House and have them pray away the injury. Just kidding, Palin would have an in-house plastic surgeon take a break from liposuctioning Gristle and trying to pump in personality, common sense and charisma to make sure the GMILF POTUS stayed hawt for the viagra base.

Meanwhile, Decerega would be dispatches to a Death Panel.

When's the last time the legendary point guard of the Wasilla Warriors took to the court? And not the kind where she's suing someone cause they kept makin stuff up about her.

Sarah had such a weak personal narrative, not a stand out, and fearing the label of not just being normal, but forgettable (as she was as a college student in five different colleges) they had to drum up the drama of her high school basketball days. LOL, Sarah Barracuda, the point guard with the sharp elbows who wasn't afraid to foul, technically or physically.

She's even more pathetic than this balding, middle-aged fat guys at the Applebee's exaggerating their glory days prowess on the court or on the field. But at least these guys still typically have a real job, even if it's just selling used cars.

If anybody elbowed a Palin it would make the 6 and 11 o'clock news. It would say the Palin children were molested and are afraid to go on their cement slab. ReTawd would rebuild his flimsy 14 ft fence and Sarah would complain that she cannot work in her garden with her shorts and tank top in the Alaskan 1 degree weather. On top of that Sarah Jong would use speed dial to call for a North Korean artillery barrage on the outskirts of Wasilla.

Some idiot Fox newsboy will ask Sarah if she would be able to beat the potus in basketball (since, you know, she was some kind of gym class hero 30 years ago). Sarah will reply that of course she could beat him but the potus doesn't have time to play with a modest housewife from wasilla (shades of the al gore debate that never could be).

Speaking of b-ball, Is Willow too busy drinking and hanging out with her loser rasist boyfriend and NOT having sex to play on her h.s.team this year? I guess they have attendance rules and whatnot. Can't they make an exception for the daughter of the woman who "won" the big game all those years ago? (snark)

Imagine if something like this happened to Sarah Palin (WGE-AK). She'd blessedly shut up for a week or so, but then we'd be subjected to the usual rotten rhetoric written instead on her palms and the soles of her feet with the Faux Snooze cameras zeroing in.

So proud of our truly athletic and active President who can take a painful injury with grace and class!

Seems to me that SP thought she could play our President in a one on one.

She'd need a baseball bat in that match-up, don't you think?

    Gryphen,

The Barbara Walter's special is on now here in NY. Barbara walks throughout the WHite House and looks at the the portrait of President Lincoln and asks President Obama what he thinks about when he looks at the portrait. Of course his off cuff response is deep, thoughtful and meaningful. I thought afterwards what the fuck Sarah's response would be. This whole presidential thing has to be a joke.

I would love it if you took Barbara's questions to President and Mrs. Obama and gave your version of Sarah's responses.

I completely agree, Gryphen. The Obamas are incredible people.

I was both irritated and offended that Barbara Walters felt the need to run two separate pieces of SP tape during this program. She was the only Republican featured... Almost strange, and I think Barbara will take flak for it. Talk about framing the current political climate as SP vs. President Obama/Dems, as if they are equivalent!

Both Barack and Michelle showed how self-controlled they are, however, for they did not take the bait and give Barbara any quotes that would get further response from the Quitter Queen. These people know how to be political. They will only acknowledge her if they have to, and hopefully that will be NEVER!!!!!

Think I will write and complain about it now. It was uncalled for. Why make Sarah Palin such an important issue on a holiday program interview? Because she's a loudmouth who can't stay out of the limelight? That's justification enough? God help us. Talk about lazy "journalism".

I am with you regarding the Barbara Walters interview. IMO, it was insulting to even mention Sarah Palin.
I did send an e-mail to ABC news indicating my disgust with their decision to promote Sarah and her spawn via GMC, The View, DWTS, and injecting her into the interview with the POTUS and FLOTUS.
I told them many Americans are on to the 24/7 scam that is Palin and hold the media complicit in its perpetration. They have lost this households viewership as a result of their cynical and irresponsible decisions to continually provide Palin with a public platform.

  28. I checked out Palin's Thanksgiving Day Facebook weep and noted she now had about 2.5 million fans.

I then wondered whether there was a Barack Obama Facebook page and was delighted to find that there is and he has nearly 17 million fans.

I'll be adding one more...and if you're not yet a fan, help pump up his numbers. I know its not just a popularity thing but an 8 to 1 spread provides a little reassurance about our country.

I didn't watch 20/20 tonight and it was because I feared Walters might bring up up the subject of Palin to President and Mrs. Obama and it would have embarrassed the heck out of me for them. And, now I find out that she did exactly that! I, too, will write Ms. Walters and suggest she stop promoting Palin along w/the rest of the media.

Palin isn't qualified to carry President Obama's water! I voted for, support and am proud of President Obama and I think Michelle is lovely. And, they are wonderful parents to two beautiful girls.

OT - went to my local Walmart late on Black Friday afternoon to avoid the crowd. The sale displays in the aisles were pretty empty - all the good stuff was gone. It's called "Obamas say their daughters prefer to be just kids." I can't figure out how to make the link not 100 miles long...

It's interesting because I force myself to read comments on Politico as a reminder of how ghastly Palin supporters can be. Of course, there are the ones who post that it's too bad that this wasn't fatal, that it will "shut him up," that Mrs. Obama did it, etc. When confronted with their ugliness, the response is that Bush put up with worse.

I can't imagine anyone being such a miserable human being as to think, much less voice, that sort of crap. Yet, these are her followers, and it is precisely because she attracts and encourages such horrors that blogs such as yours are so important. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous6:15 AM

At least when President Obama reads from a teleprompter, he is reading a good deal of his own writing, and that writing is coherent and substantive. Sarah supporters need to get over the fact that he is well-educated and brilliant. (I guess they like their Presidents to be average.)

Are people suggesting that the President use his valuable time to memorize his writing? Or are people suggesting that he only speak extemporaneously? I, for one, look forward to hearing thoughts he has put to paper. The time that goes into thoughtful reflection is time well spent.

Ms. Palin seems to think of herself as a deep thinker, but even with much help from hack political writers and fanatical ideologues, she comes up short every time. Reading off off prepared text sitting before her on the podium (no different from a teleprompter), she rambles and she rants, she is shrill and angry. Sarah sycophants know it, and they can't stand it. Deep down they are painfully embarrassed by her, which is why they keep attacking others to distract from their own sense of shame and humiliation.

Btw, why do Palin supporters take pleasure in violent images? They seem to be a bunch of sadists. Can't imagine their childhoods...
