Republican Congressman finally says what all the rest of them are thinking: “Sarah Palin cost us control of the Senate.”

From the Shelby County Reporter:

Bachus made his remarks on Nov. 4 at the monthly luncheon meeting of the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce, held at the Columbiana United Methodist Church.

“The Senate would be Republican today except for states (in which Palin endorsed candidates) like Christine O’Donnell in Delaware,” Bachus said. “Sarah Palin cost us control of the Senate.”

He said Tea Party candidates did well in U.S. House races, but in the U.S. Senate races, “They didn’t do well at all.”

I think most of us knew that sometime after the midterms this was inevitable.  There should have been little doubt that the Republicans would start thinking about 2012 and begin working out how to remove the Sarah Palin albatross from around their neck.

Sure she is good for attracting attention and bringing in the money, but no serious Republican wants her anywhere near the Presidential election.

And just in case you think they are not getting serious about addressing the Palin problem perhaps you would be interested to know that operatives from certain prominent Republicans have already made a few discreet phone calls to people in the know up here in our fair state.

Get your popcorn ready kids, the show that is about to start is the one we have all been waiting for.

man I have no respect for these people. they're 2 years too late.

they will get their asses kicked in 2012, and that's what they get for letting this ignoramus run amuck for the past 2 years.

  3. oh, noes!!

Please please let Sarah run in 2012! If only for the sheer entertainment, it would be priceless! Can you just see her in a televised debate, answering real questions, even softballs?

ugh, ugh, what do I read? uhhh...everything!

I would so hate to be deprived this spectacle.

Please Republicans, don't take her down!

I so agree, emrysa -- it's 2 years too late. How shameful that the Republicans, beginning with McCain, knowingly allowed Sarah Palin to flourish like cancer for their own political gain, to the great detriment of our political process and our country. NOW they want to muzzle her! Well, better late than never, and I'll have my popcorn out, but really, how dishonorable, contemptible, cynical, and self-serving. Unforgivable.

I think what they are pissed about too was that Palin's endorsements were/are paid for either by the candidate or Republican coffers (her legal affairs). She basically was a whore. Bring on the IrS please.

  10. These expedient dumb asses are stewing in juices of their own making. They just couldn't resist over-reaching and misunderstanding their own sexism. Any male exhibiting the temperament, character, and ignorance of Palin would have been muzzled long ago. They couldn't resist the temptation to use sex and a frontier mythology to sell a completely hokum "product". Well, enjoy the legacy guys. She's yours.

I did have a few minutes of pity for Sarah because yes these men are sexist pigs and they did use her. But my sympathy for Miss Winky Winky did not last of course and its about time people stood up to her. She's a psychopath.
I don't think she's going to go down easily though. Watch and see. She has zero insight and will blame everyone else!

  13. Can you just see it in the distance...a Palin envisioning themselves as a "Ross Perot" candidate or worse "Ralph Nader". a rogue running against the mainstream candidates a la third party.

Sarah will run as a Tea Party candidate challenging the GOP and Dems. Heck, she may even do the "write-In" thing with her tribe of enthralled, breathless bots.

Not to worry though cause that will split the GOP vote which is unacceptable..... Sarah has to be taken down and Lord knows who all is going down with her...not gonna be pretty. Sarah will just not stop on her own...no way no how.

I wonder how she liked being used by the GOP this election cycle?
    How ungrateful they are....

If they were too stupid to see what Democrats and thinking Republicans could see, it's their own darn fault. I live in Alaska and had little trouble seeing Sarah Palin for who she really is pretty quickly. I have to admit that as a Republican, I tried to be in denial, but that only works for so long when you have more than two brain cells to rub together.

The yayhoos who bought into Palin's particular brand of bs hook, line and sinker deserve what they get. And they have no right blaming her for it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous5:26 PM

Just knew they would be the ones to successfully derail her political ambitions for good. It's poetic justice.

Even better, the damage she has done - and John McCain, Bill Kristol, et al, for foisting her off on us in the first place - will be hardest to undo for the GOP itself. Even more poetic.

They have the goods on her, and anything they don't have they will be sure to get.

Sarah, time to refer to plan d, e, or f.

i realize you can keep this place going cause who doesnt like bizarre palin?
but you need to back up what you say if you want to be taken serious, i think.
so tell people like me why palin has been able to get away with everything you claim she has in her closet.
the reason i ask is simple.

like them or not the leaders and shakers of the republican party are not stupid.
they know full well everything and more about palin yet you claim they still push her forward.
so one simple question, 2 parts.."who is behind palin and why did they choose someone this bizarre to push on the people knowing i will assume everything you do?".
someone had a site claiming a group of people ran the world.
i asked him to send me their names and he removed me from the site.

How wonderful to hear about those discreet phone calls. Did any of the call recipients say "what took you so long?"

One of my favorite pieces of evidence is Palin crossing her legs tightly then leaning forward 7 weeks before supposedly birthing a 6+lb baby. It was a Newsweek interview and the video is still there on palindecptions. But perhaps, you, Gryphen, have even better stuff. We all know there's tons of evidence.

Also if you happen to answer a phone call from a discreet operative, tell them a little less discretion and a whale of a lot more action is expected. There's no time to lose, the primaries are coming up and Palin is getting cockier every day.

They are going to have to have gotten the stuff together while she ran for VP. I just want to see her and Toad in orange outfits and in jail. There are so many things she's had a hand in here in Alaska...would be interesting if they could prove that baby is not hers. The birth certificate w/the State of AK is probably held under-cover.

This is going to be fun to watch there is no doubt. She has really become a pain in the ass to most of us here in Alaska - as well as Toad. Feel so sorry for her kids having her as a less than fine example for parenting. She's a fake and fraud!

Bachus is giving Sarah entirely too much credit. Some of the responsibility for the Tea Party comes from Glenn Beck, other Fox fools who were pushing the Tea Party people, and some of the associated nasty groups.

If Sarah is responsible for dividing the GOP and driving out moderates, and losing elections, then let the fun begin. If the GOP realizes that Sarah is a liability and they go after her, the people in the Pee Pond won't know who they should hate. Can they eat their own?

They only want to get the goods on her to hold in reserve till the final days of the 2012 campaign. Then they will make a back room deal forcing her withdrawal and her minions votes in exchange for an appointment to Secretary of the Interior handling the nation's natural resources. "Drill Baby Drill", "Mine Baby Mine". She will be their operative. Corporations will control land, water and air. And we will be at their mercy. Which by the way they don't have.

The RepoCons and Bushies, in order to regain control of the their agenda have to reign in the TeePeeers.

The Baggers that lost, lost because the Republicans allowed factory reject quality candidates to run. Some of them won, many made such fools of themselves that they ended snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The failure was the RNC's but they can blame Sarah and weaken her at the same time. Sarah has been playing the Republicans and the TeePeeers off against each other and now it's pay back time.

The trend that I was most interested in was what would happen in the last weeks when moderates, independents, green party, and many libertarians finally began making their choices.

The margin of error in many races was not precise enough to give an accurate ideas of any shifts less that around 5%. But in several races we saw that the last minute decisions were apparently coming down on the side of more moderate/liberal candidates. So, for example, Angle's apparent 5% lead was really not only not +5%+ it was -5% because the majority of late decisions went against her.

The Republicans saw the same numbers and they know they will have to get control of the mavfreaks well before the 2012 primaries. They will do everything in their power to keep their strangle hold on the conservative powerhouse. Sarah be warned their bus is a lot bigger than yours. Lots more room under their meat grinder.

Goodness, wouldn't it be great if Sarah took down Murdoch as well as split the GOP?

What I love is that neither Murdoch nor the GOP understand that Sarah is truly a believer in her own PR. I don't think she can sit down and shut up, step away, or play along like a good little girl to be told when to go to the bathroom, what to say, and how to say - not even for tons of money.

We all say she is in it for the money, but I think she truly feels she deserves the spotlight. They try to yank it away, and I think she will fight back. If they have dirt on her, I'm pretty sure she has dirt on them.

It will be interesting to see if she has the guts for fight the GOP. Murdoch could supply a lot of info on the key GOP players.

However, what Sarah may not realize that Murdoch never does anything because he likes someone. He's in it for himself so if he helps her, she will never be her own person again.

That's why, Sarah, your faith has the fables about the Devil or Satan. Those stories are trying to teach you about how some people are, Sarah. I think you've sold yourself to the proverbial Bad Guy.

Or how about this: Rupert told SP a long time ago that she would do a few things, and then when he said so, she would bow out, and collect some more millions of dollars. And he will tell her when it's right for him and his pals, not necessarily when various Republican Congressmen (who are not in on the secret deal) say. And certainly not when a bunch of "little people" (that would be us) say. It might all be part of a plan to have someone refudiate her, and have her keep fighting, but all within a plan, the plan of the Kochs, Rupert, and pals. The plan that LOOKS like she is just bumbling along, doing her own thing, but she is on the firm leash of some fat-cat group.

How many times have we all said "okay, now its going to be all over in a few days." I don't believe she will ever be exposed anymore. I think the proof is in all that we have written about here and PROVED, and yet no acknowledgment by major media. Because no independent media is left.

And because exposing SP would also come too close to explaining why it took so long, and who knoew what and when, and their complicity in all of it. No, I think she will get away with it. All of it.

    Say it ain't so, somebody.

The end of Sarah's political career would make the most dramatic movie scene.... Four hours prior to the final Republican Presidential primary debate (she has refused involvement in the first three debates), Sarah is informed that she has to attend a meeting in the penthouse suite of the hotel. After refusing to rehearse for the debate, she is frantically trying to memorize international policy, economic principles, new Obama insults and her justification to attack Iran, Pakistan, Canada, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. She questions Rebecca about who has the authority to make her attend a meeting, but Rebecca promises several Dooney Burke purses if she follows her to the 23rd floor suite. Rebecca knocks quietly on the door, and it opens immediately to a 2000 square foot suite with eloquent furnishings. Despite the eloquence of the suite, Palin is immediately drawn to the men sitting at the large mahogany table on the right side of the room. Rupert Murdoch, Steve Schmidt, Michael Steel, Karl Rove, John Boehner and three unidentified men in dark suits stare intently her way. They've been waiting for her arrival. Murdoch beckons her to the table. In the middle of the table, Sarah sees a large manila envelope that makes her palms sweat and heart race. The men aren't welcoming her as they usually do, and this also puts her on edge. She knows something is very wrong. Murdoch tells her that information has been brought to his attention that reveals serious issues with her candidacy as he silently pushes the envelope towards her. She refuses to touch the envelope. He suggests that she tell her aides that she has a family emergency and needs to return to Wasilla immediately. Sarah realizes that they are demanding that she leave the race. Never one to be denied, she attempts to refudiate Murdoch. He is in no mood for one of her manic, diva moments so he states that the contents of the envelope will be released to every major news organization in the morning if she doesn't leave the race immediately. Steve Schmidt smiles ruthlessly; he has waited patiently for this moment for almost four years. Palin grabs the envelope and starts screaming her tired insults even though she realizes she is far beyond damaged goods. Murdoch immediately stands, grabs her arm forcefully and pushes her to the door as she continues her vitriolic tirade. When the door slams in her face, she is finally silent. Palin is left standing alone in the hall as Rebecca is asked into the room to hear the specific directions regarding damage control for Palin's demise.

As powerful as Rupert Murdoch may be, it doesn't mean he controls the universe. Telling Sarah when and how to run, giving her the red light or the green light, is all well and good - but she has to be electable. Even I am not paranoid enough to think he has rigged all the voting machines in the US! And if she is under fire from the GOP, even Rupert can't really protect her from everyone.

She may always have a willing following, but they aren't enough to deliver a win and she would not make it through a national campaign in the first place.

Skeletons aside, the MSM and her opponents would make mincemeat of her the next time around. She has her memorized vague talking points stump speech and that's about it. She can't really defend it with any specifics or policy understanding. She quit her job as Governor. She has a short fuse and would likely say or do something stupid. She doesn't have the skills or the stamina, and her skin is too thin.

I know some truly hope she runs because she could be defeated so easily and Obama would be assured of a second term. I am not as comfortable with taking that chance, even given what I have written above.

When the gloves come off and part of the Republican party goes after Sarah they will use the usual tactics.

Sarah knows these tactics, she sometimes uses some of them. Various charges and accusations will be made. Some in public, and some anonymously (perhaps why she'd like these to be ignored?). Some will be truthful, and based on facts, others probably not so much so.

Did Sarah ever hear McCain tell about the black baby story used against him in the 2000 South Carolina primary? That happened, the culprits? Well it was a Republican Primary... Here is an explanation with some good links.

    http://writechic.wordpress.com/2008/06/10/karl-roves-black-baby-lie-about-mccain/

Republican politics are dirty and what is done to others sometimes comes back to bite.

Anyone thinking that all the facts on Sarah are either out or successfully hidden by her- YOU ARE WRONG. Why might they have not come out? Keep in mind that statutes of limitation for various activities have not yet run. Some of these things may require immunity to loosen the tongues.

The Dairygate dairy is 90 days late on it's loans again according to Halcro. Who was the governor that fired all seven members of the State Board of Agriculture and Conservation (who have authority over the Creamery Board)in June of 2007? Prior to appointing Franci Havemeister (highschool classmate who 'loved cows as a child'). Prior to additional shenanigans concerning the assets, financing and operation?

Look at what turned up on Joe Miller. This was in a few months. Haven't seen anything on the missing house and 40 acres (missing from various disclosure forms), but these things haven't gone away. Is Mrs. Joe Miller paid to be on the board that appoints judges? That is not on the form he filed if she is paid. There is more to come out on Joe too. Stay tuned.

An upcoming embarrassment for Sarah will be when the candidates that she endorsed and campaigned and fund raised for- begin to publicly disown and abandon her. Possibly even refudiate her! This will start to happen very soon. The pressure will be on, and the results of this will be seen before these candidates take office.
