Today must be "Dump on Palin Day." Here let me write that in my calendar so I don't miss it next year.

Ed Rollins from CNN, and White House Political Director for Ronald Reagan, is taking umbrage with the Grizzled Mama today as well.

Here  is just some of what he has to say:

On November 4, I wrote a column under the headline: "Don't underestimate Palin for 2012 run" (I write the columns, not the headlines). It was not a pro- or anti-Palin article but an analysis of the potential candidates for the Republican nomination in 2012.

If I were to title this one, it would be "Sarah, don't overestimate your chances!"

And quit comparing yourself to Ronald Reagan. To paraphrase the late Sen. Lloyd Bentsen's comments to Dan Quayle in the 1988 vice presidential debate: I knew Ronald Reagan, and you're no Ronald Reagan.

You're a media star and a great curiosity. You were plucked out of political obscurity because of the whim of presidential contender John McCain, who didn't know you and made you into an overnight sensation. You performed well for three weeks in the campaign, did better than expected against Joe Biden in the debate and then you self-destructed.

So I don't know if this in response to Joe Scarborough's call for the GOP to go after Palin or if this is just a happy coincidence, but I have to say I love it.

I read his whole article. Very strong and another slam on SP.

It seems that these slams are becoming greater in number and more frequent.

Sarah never compared herself to Ronnie-she merely noted, accurately, that he was a (terrible) actor. And GW Bush did wreck the economy!

  3. As the writer of the Moscow Top News put it:
Sarah is a clown short of a circus.

He also said :To attack the President of the Country at a time when the USA needs to close ranks and stand together to consolidate the enormous strides his intelligent and respectful approach has achieved in building bridges, when her party's period in government bombed them, Spankin' Sarah Palin comes across as a pitifully inadequate anachronism from the times of the Far West.

The United States of America has evolved. She has not.

Um, well, GOP revisionist Rollins doesn't quite have the history right. She self-destructed long before the VP debate: "In what respect, Charlie?" "All of 'em, any of 'em."

But glad the GOP vs. $P game is afoot.

I think Ed wrote this because of her going after Reagan. Nothing to do with Joe & Mika. But who cares. The more, the merrier!!

    I'm still laughing at:

Someone has unleashed the first wave of hounds to warn her what they'll do to her if she runs and is at all successful. I'm gonna open a bottle of pinot grigio tonight to celebrate the finding of their huevos by some conservatives. Palin will respond with her usual 7th grade bully girl defiance.

Wow - and such silence from Sarah.

Has the country suddenly become sane - or is the GOP really, truly scared they cannot stop her and the Tea Party?

Questions for another day - am just enjoying the ride today.

Sarah thinks she is God's chosen, the female first coming.

The old boys club that is the Republican hierarchy isn't likely to let her take over their party machinery and will make sure that the Tee Peeers don't either.

All they have to do to end Sarah's days as a media freak is pull her funding, pressure the networks to not cover her and point out the obvious, that she is an idiot, literally.

Sarah can't out raise them, can't out spend them and can't seduce or fool the party's gray beards and major financiers.

Sarah can if she is very skilful at playing one side of the Republican party against the other get the nomination and win the WH, but she can't do it by being inflammatory on a daily basis and driving away supporters, donors, and voters.

How many families of special needs people do you think still think Sarah is a gift from God?

IT'S OFFICIAL FOLKS, SARAH PALIN IS NOW BRISTOL ON DWTS!

Sarah does not have a chance of winning, but remains on the dance floor because of the Teabaggers multiple votes in hopes of keeping Sarah in the contest. It's only a matter of time before somebody punches her dance card and taps her on her shoulder and tell her it is time to take off her dance shoes, hang up her prom dress and put down her spiffy beehive hairdo and call it a night. So sad that Sarah did not see the writing on the toilet stall walls that her 15 minutes are coming to an end.

But wait... what's happening... Sarah just put on her Miss. Wasilla pageant sash and she is going back to the floor for another dance and folks it looks like she has a speech written on her palm and wait… her mascara is running down her botox cheeks... What is she doing?

Quick... somebody turn off the microphone and lights...

SARAH PALIN IS GOING ROGUE AGAINNNN.

    Media Insider here --

I am SO proud of you, Gryphen, for making the official "enemies" list! CONGRATS! (Raises glass of champagne in your honor.)

A few days ago I had commented about how there is going to be a convergence of hit pieces coming out from many media directions, finally starting to throw Paylin more officially under the bus, so it's nice to see some of this happening. One newspaper editor I know says there is a piece brewing that will be a counteraction to the nauseously positive New York Times piece that recently came out -- and it should arrive before the holidays. Lots of VERY fun pull-out quotes within it because the writers are using direct quotes from stars, politicos, and others who are willing to publically trash her. Several writers are working on this piece but only the senior writer (with the most pull at this publication) will be credited. Group efforts can be beautiful because they allow for more legs to be on the ground doing research, getting people to go on the record with quotes, etc. I can't WAIT for it to come out.

The Repignicans are quickly disassociating themselves with her because of some of the iceburgs (legal ones) clearly headed her way. *wink wink* I think you know about some of these, Gryphen! They don't begrudge her her media deals and money from her tabloid style "work" that she does as a celebrity right now, they just don't want her anywhere near the Republican ticket and want to get her out of the way before that can seriously happen.

About the non-disclosure forms the DWTS cast had to sign about not bad mouthing Bristol -- it was LONG and very SPECIFIC. example: "You agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement in perpetuity, throughout any and all media channels, both now and in the future" etc. The terminology was more along the lines of "You agree not to speak about any of the contestants, their parents, their family members, or their children in a disparaging or libellous way, and if you do, DTWS releases itself from any legal protection to assist you in whatever lawsuits result from your remarks" yada yada. It was really draconian and very, very weird.

I believe it has to do with timing. The republicans got through the last election and gained some house seats and MONEY with Palin's help. But now it is getting to close to the presidential election and they can't afford for her to run.

TIME to dump her seems to be the message. She has served their self-serving purpose but ohhh lordy it is time to shut her up.

Wow - just went to the link that someone in the post just prior noted, and was really stunned that family values Sarah would allow Piper to wear makeup at a book signing. It is so obvious. Does Sarah not get the concerns about sexualizing young girls?

Gawd, what a really trashy mother Sarah is! Combine this overly permissive attitude with Bristol's comments about no sex education in the home, and well, it's should surprise no one when a Palin has premarital sex and gets pregnant. Apparently, Sarah believes in marketing them young and early. Sorry - but that's what it looks like.

  26. What may be happening:

Sarah Palin implicitly blamed Ronald Reagan for the economy's problems when she blamed the Bushes for the economy's problems, on Laura Ingraham's radio show. So, the knives are out, among Reagan's fans, for Sarah Palin's scalp (No! they won't settle for her wig). If they don't succeed, Nancy Reagan herself may have to "knee-cap" Sarah, to use Ingraham's word.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anonymous1:28 PM

I wish that she would knock off tooting (msp on porpoise!) herself as a mother and that she has common sense. She makes all mothers look bad with her parenting skills and using her family as an excuse to step down from her jobs that to which she has been entrusted. If some smart, savvy lady rises through the ranks and she happens to have a family and back-up, she will be wrongly compared to Sarah Palin and get negative light even if she is amazing. That Sarah Palin rose instead of Anna Fairclough or Beverly Serrano or any other female who happens to be a mother is a travesty.

When a woman lacks real experience, she falls back on what Sarah has done, making gross generalizations about her qualifications based on something that really isn't her expertise and creating smoke screen diversions to avoid facing issues. "I'm going to speak to the American people if the question is too hard!"

How long will it be before Alaska puts another female-- but a qualified on-- in the CEO of the state's job?

  34. Why do people like Rollins waste bandwidth or column space to praise Palin by repeating falsehoods, as in ". . .performed well for three weeks." The point is, she did NOT perform well and McCain lost the election. It was the combination of her lack of ability to perform the most basic activities related to a political campaign and his generalized goofiness that guaranteed a big Democrat win.

You better believe she'll be back. Do not underestimate this woman's fury. It motivates her every single day, and she thrives on criticism because then gives her (and RAM) an excuse to lash out. Plus she's got her book lines full of bots who make her feel warm and cuddly. She could never be taken out by a few days of blistering, bullseye smackdowns. Yes, let's hope there won't be a next year.

Start keeping track of the titles/authors/dates & links (better yet, downloaded pages) as proof of a turning point in Mrs. Palin's "career." If you don't use them yourself in a book, I'm guessing the persons who do write the books will find a timeline quite valuable.

  46. Sarah caused this onslaught of negative publicity. She can't blame anyone but herself, which she won't do.
If she just continued to demean President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama, all would have been fine in Republican Land.

However, she cited former President Regan's acting ability in B rate movies rather than his more illustrious accomplishments.

After Barbara Bush's comment, Sarah took on the Bush's so called "blueblood lineage". Forget about their antecedents, guess she was not aware of President "Papa" Bush's prior career history. He was the Director of the CIA.

Now, you have republican spokespersons crawling out of the woodwork who are unafraid to use their names. They are not throwing her under the bus, this is child's play. Rather, they are giving her a taste of what is ahead, should she continue in her quest for the presidential nomination.
If I were Sarah, I would be blinking.

P.S. The Pravda article about SP was powerful and well written. Sarah, buy yourself a dictionary before you read it. You can buy it after one your book signings at Border's.

I'm hoping by next year, there won't a need for a 'Dump on Palin day' for her and her brood will all be a distant memory, and the only mention of a Palin would be a small newspaper clipping announcing the auction of several Palin properties.... since she'll be a long time 'guest' in one the gov't controlled 'housing compounds'.
