Sarah Palin lashes out at running mate John McCain, the Republican party, and claims President Obama is "hell bent on weakening America." Wow, SOMEBODY sure stored up a lot of venom over the holidays!

At the1:21 mark:  On McCain's comments on the TODAY Show that he is looking to compromise with the administration on comprehensive immigration reform: "I don't think the priority of the Republican Party should be capitulating or compromising when it comes to our principles and those time tested truths that help build our country."

Palin is buying into her own ridiculous Mama Grizzly meme here by refusing to acknowledge that politicians from both sides of the aisle HAVE to work together to solve the problems facing our country, and that simply folding their arms over their chests and refusing to budge is not helpful to our nation.

By the way THAT is not how Palin herself interacted with the Democrats in Alaska.  She did work across party lines, right up until McCain tapped her as his VP running mate.  Then she decided that the Democrats were the enemy, a fact driven home when they kicked the McCain/Palin ticket's ass in the 2010 election.

(She also broke ethics rules, spent money like crazy, and was once referred to as "a pretty good socialist governor."  Are you Teabaggers paying attention?)

At the 1:39 mark: On the GOP's need to stand firm: "What the American public wants to see right now...is not so much the idea of compromise but drawing some lines in the sand and warning these newly elected and re-elected Congressmen and women and Senators that we expect them to adhere to the will of the people, whether it comes to repealing ObamaCare, whether it comes to not raising the debt ceiling, whether it comes to securing our borders. We want some lines drawn in the sand and we want that done today."

Jesus!  Is she completely off of her meds?

At the 2:18  mark: Palin: "We keep giving some of these personalities in the GOP chance after chance to prove to the American public that it's the GOP's ideas and values and planks in the platform that should be implemented to provide solutions to America's challenges. But they've blown it too many times and this is to me kind of like their last chance. Draw some lines in the sand."

What is with her and "drawing lines in the sand?" Did somebody get her one of those tiny Zen sand gardens for Christmas and she completely missed the point of using it to relax and instead spends her time digging deep World War 1 style partisan trenches with her nail file?

At the 2:49  mark: Palin: "Don't be talking about capitulation and compromise at this point."
Laura: "That's your former running mate. That's the guy who picked you on the ticket talking about comprehensive immigration reform."

Palin: "I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he's got some ideas that ultimately will result in no amnesty and securing our borders. Maybe that's what he's got in mind on this. Again, we've got to draw some lines in the sand."

"Lines in the sand Laura, lines in the sand!  Dammit aren't you listening to me?"

At the 3:38 mark: Palin: "We've got to be able to respect our politicians and trust what it is they are doing. Now, I don't personally trust what comes out of the White House....[Obama] is hell bent on weakening America and he has told us back in March of 2006 that it weakens America domestically and internationally to raise the debt ceiling. And he said it is a sign of failed leadership to support raising the debt ceiling. And now he is doing exactly that. So, what Obama is doing--purposefully weakening America, because he understood that debt weakens America domestically and internationally--and yet now he supports increasing debt."

Laura: "So his goal is to weaken America?"

Palin: "On this issue it has to be, otherwise, what did he mean back in March of 2006 when he said that he understood that increasing debt weakens America?"

Of course the difference is that the Bush administration was raising the debt ceiling to continue to pay for two out of control wars and their horrible economic choices, and Obama is desperately trying to stave off a collapse of the American, and world, economy that is the result of those stupid decisions during the Bush years.

Which, by the way, is yet another reason to give thanks that we have an intelligent President like Barack Obama instead of a crazed old man like John McCain and his sand line drawing banshee sidekick.

Ms Palin’s gutter-trolling flailing for attention has become such an embarrassment that even the foreign press has deemed her a traitor. Yes, the only person hell bent on weakening America is obviously Ms Palin, who has taken her brief stints on foreign soil as an opportunity to attack the President during a time of war. Ms Palin failed to respect the code of conduct on military bases and allowed her entourage to viciously attack the President on military bases. Ms Palin can’t even find the grace to simply be quiet when her country is faced with mounting disasters and crises (many of them ironically brought about by Ms Palin’s ideology). Ms Palin is so spiteful that she finds it impossible to respect a country that rejected her in 2008.

Ms Palin continues to shoot her blanks from across her cowardly bunkers of fear (Ms Palin never does any media where she might be asked an unfriendly question or even a question that is not pre-approved), aiming as recklessly as she did at the caribou she missed five times, but always hopeful that this time she’ll hit the mark. Ms Palin’s paranoia usually manages to mangle whatever strength her charisma has to offer and over time, Americans have grown weary of her obstinately frantic bids for attention. Branded with the Lie of the Year in 2009, Ms Palin fared no better in 2010.

If Ms Palin plans to run for her party’s nomination for Presidential candidacy, she had best call an image consultant stat. Ms Palin needs to retreat before she reloads, or she’ll be left in a pile of wasted shells of her own making. America needs ideas, solutions, and candidates who are serious about governing. She doesn’t need a run-away governor who fled to the hills to find gold on TV and whose only discernible asset is her uncompromising hate for the President. Ms Palin is coming off like a petulant child on her sibling’s birthday, so absorbed in what she didn’t get that she can’t overcome her own self-pity and self-absorption for even one moment. She is a fame-seeking missile of self-destruction.

    An Alaskan writer speaks up!

It's a Mystery Why the Tea Party Loves Sarah Palin

...Like many politicians, Sarah Palin knows how to stretch the truth. She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. She astonished Alaskans by claiming the Legislature's investigation into the Troopergate scandal "vindicated" her -- when in fact it found probable cause she had violated state law.

Sarah Palin's appeal to politically-alienated anti-government conservatives in the Lower 48 dumbfounds those of us who witnessed her career in Alaska. She criticizes big government, but she ran a big government in Alaska and gave it more money. She ran as an ethics crusader, but she took advantage of loopholes in ethics laws. She routinely defended herself with the classic politician's excuse -- what I did wasn't against the law.

If Tea Partiers would think for a moment before lapping up Palin's anti-government platitudes, they'd see Sarah Palin for what she is: one more ambitious, angle-playing politician who will do or say whatever it takes to further her career.

Palin is lying on the president, AGAIN! I read the entire quote that then-Senator Obama made about raising the debt ceiling. He was warning of the danger of having to continue doing it and about the unrestricted spending of the GWB Administration. He then went on to describe it as a failure to govern effectively. Contrary to what Palin is saying, he never said that the debt ceiling should NOT be raised.

There is a great post at Politicususa in which Jason Easley and Sarah Jones de-construct Palin's lie:

  6. Anonymous7:52 AM

As usual she cocks it up and misquotes our president. Here is what he ACTUALLY said:

“Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren,” Obama said in a 2006 floor speech that preceded a Senate vote to extend the debt limit. “America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.”

    http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/57493-senate-must-raise-debt-ceiling-above-12t

Further, 2011 is not 2006. The financial climate is exponentially different and for Sarah to think she 'got' Obama with his own words (or her interpretation of them) is simply lame.

If Palin understands this -- and I suspect she does, given her support for TARP -- then her attacks on President Obama represent a cynical exploitation of the extreme right's irrational hatred of the President of the United States. And if Palin doesn't understand this, then she's even more confused about reality than we could possibly have imagined.

Could Oil Tax Hike Come Back to Bite Palin?

...The Alaska Dispatch reported last month that a federal agency forecasts that construction for the gas pipeline will not become economically feasible until about 2035.

Andrew Halcro, a former Republican state legislator who ran for governor against Palin in 2006 and has since remained a vocal critic of her, said that he expects both ACES and the gas pipeline project to become problems for Palin if she runs for president.

"Even as governor in a short period of time, she made decisions based on populism rather than practicality," Halcro told RealClearPolitics. "In another year, these things are going to become very clear, so time is not on her side, as far as assessing her time as governor."

Y'know, I am convinced she's had work done to tighten up the ol' face. When was the last time anybody saw her in public? She's calling radio shows and sounding nutty, even by her usual standards. I think pain meds are in place and she's waiting for the swelling/bruising to subside before she pokes her head out of her cave again.

Thinking, too, that the Bristol house purchase was a ruse that didn't last as ling as she'd hoped. So people noticed she'd been out of the public eye and she has to get back in there- hence a call in radio show.

I wish there was something I could say about Sarah that no one else has said. Her little circus freak show is getting humdrum. Her screeching and riding around on donkeys while eating fried caribou and wearing a toilet lid as a hat is getting …

    Boring.
    Predictable.
    Psychotic.
    Pitiful.
    Masturbatory

It must be hell to be Sarah and be so angry when you've been basically handed fame, wealth and a fawning cult for doing nothing but screeching, lying and wearing short skirts.

Of course, her anger comes from really, really recognizing that she'll never truly be good enough for anyone with a brain.

The new Republican-led House of Representatives has been in power for only a few days and is already discovering that it is much more difficult to govern than it was to criticize someone else. Within hours after taking over, they had broken numerous promises and rules they themselves had established. You can denounce a leader's policies all you want but, if you don't have any positive solutions and strategies, you will flounder if you assume control.

In all of the time she has been in the spotlight, Palin has not offered ONE SINGLE SOLUTION to this country's problems. President Obama has handled crisis after crisis, making some mistakes along the way, but moving the nation and our crippled economy along in a slow but determined path towards recovery.

Palin, on the other hand, has learned how to repeat the same tired complaints and criticisms over and over and over again. A well-trained parrot could do as much.

Really, WTF is her problem? She doesn't learn! She STILL hasnt gotten it through her thick head that this approach of constantly degrading the President does NOT work for her!!
Either 1) she isn't running for president so she doesn't care OR 2) she's running alright but she's so mentally ill and fu of rage towards the president, that she can't control herself.

Either way she continues on the same path of self- destruction despite mounds of evidence that her nasty, bitchy, Obama hates America attitude does NOT help her poll numbers! She is CLEARLY the most hated and unpopular " political" figure in America! By far! Yes some love her but that number is shrinking! How can she not know this?? She can't be that stupid!

I can only conclude that Sarah Palin is a very very sick, mentally disturbed person who cannot control her emotions. Only an equally disturbed person could believe she would be a good president. "I don't think the priority of the Republican Party should be capitulating or compromising when it comes to our principles and those time tested truths that help build our country."

    So says Snowdrift Snooki.

Palin's problem - as with the rest of the teabagger buffoons - is that her truck is not with President Obama or with the Dems, but with the Founding Fathers themselves.

This notion of "compromise" of which she speaks so contemptuously is the cornerstone of our democracy. The FFs knew that they had before them a polarized political landscape and rightly surmised that it would always be so in America. They devised a system of governance that REQUIRED opposing parties to negotiate and work with one another. The Constitution acknowledges that there will be differences and provides us with the means to address those differences civilly and fairly. But, not Palin. To her compromise is a dirty word. Palin is certainly not alone in this sentiment, as this seems to be the modus operandi of the entire GOP.

We have a word that describes governments and political parties which do not "compromise" or "capitulate" with their political foes: dictatorships. This is apparently what the Former Partial Governor of Alaska is advocating for the USA.

Palin's neofascist agenda is rooted in her obdurate ignorance of our nation's history. She is utterly uninformed and unaware of the very real compromises that it took to shape this nation and to keep it together. She would gleefully abandon the Constitution in favor of iron fisted rule in which those not in power were silenced by brute force. Palin is too stupid to realize that if that dictum were applied today, it would mean that it would be she and the GOP that would be silenced by the controlling Democratic Party.

Palin is a simpering moron and anybody who would follow her anywhere is even more imbecilic than she is. Her only real claim to fame IS her fame. She has a very meagre record of accomplishment whose foundation rests upon flirtin’, winkin’, and some fancy pageant walkin’. She is vain beyond measure, even more stupid than she is vain, and she has a mean streak that runs deep into her snotty core. She is a blight upon our nation and will rightly be accorded the opprobrium of posterity.

IMO, what is going on with her prop life, the so-called family life, is old hat to her. Todd is not news to her. SarahPac may have been behind the e-mail. No word about where it came from or how accurate? No one is questioning Shailey Tripp? Nothing about that seems right. Prayers: Rep Gifford has died.

Rep Giffords' office was also one that was broken into last year when healthcare was heated.

She was on Palin's mapped 'hit' list.

Rep Giffords is only about 40 yrs old. Married to Mark Kelly, decorated serviceman & astronaut. No kids. He has kids from previous marriage.

This is a tragedy that is so sad.

Violence. AZ Democratic Congresswoman and six others killed. How is that violent rhetoric working for you, Palin?

Will Palin walk back and apologize for targeting Democrats for death now that Rep. Gabrille Giffords has been tragically shot and killed by one of Palin's supporters.

The Democrat Congresswoman from Arizona has died according to latest news reports.

Wasn't this democrat on Sarah Palin's crosshairs list - guess the Secret Service and FBI need to pick up Sarah Palin for an interrogation and see if someone murdered this woman because of Palin's hit list.

Yes, I blame Sarah Palin for this shooting, others died also.

    http://www.texasescapes.com/MikeCoxTexasTales/Line-in-the-Sand-Alamo-History.htm

The "lie in the sand" legend comes for the the defenders of the Alamo.

"We must die," he [Coloel Travis] began. "Our business is not to make a fruitless effort to save our lives, but to choose the manner of our death."

    .....

Then, with a flourish, Travis drew his sword and slowly marked a line in the dirt. "I now want every man who is determined to stay here and die with me to come across this line."

    On FireDogLake one commentor says:

"I’m attempting to organize a demonstration at Palin’s Wasilla house for 2:00 p.m. this afternoon Alaska time. I’ll try to get back on this."

Have you heard anything about this?
