I can see heads over at Fox News getting ready to explode in 3..2..1
I wonder who else it might piss off?
Hey, do you remember when people actually thought that person might be a viable Republican candidate for President?
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
She's trying to defend herself and deflect her responsibility...as usual. I'm not impressed.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin charges critics with 'blood libel'
Sarah Palin released a video statement Wednesday calling the rush to pin blame on conservatives for the Tucson shooting “reprehensible” and a “blood libel.”
“Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own,” she said. “They begin and end with the criminals who commit them.”
In the eight-minute video, Palin says, “... Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”
The former GOP vice presidential candidate has faced criticism for images that look like gun crosshairs she used to identify the districts of Democrats who were vulnerable in the 2010 elections, including that of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), who was shot on Saturday.
But in her first extended response to the shooting, Palin said that “responsibility lies not collectively with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not with law-abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their First Amendment rights at campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election.”
Though some “claim political debate has somehow gotten more heated just recently,” Palin said it has always been “heated.”
“... When was it less heated? Back in those ‘calm days’ when political figures literally settled their differences with dueling pistols?” she asked.
“In an ideal world all discourse would be civil and all disagreements cordial. But our Founding Fathers knew they weren’t designing a system for perfect men and women. If men and women were angels, there would be no need for government. Our Founders? genius was to design a system that helped settle the inevitable conflicts caused by our imperfect passions in civil ways. So, we must condemn violence if our Republic is to endure.?”
Palin said that “America must be stronger than the evil we saw displayed last week.”
“We are better than the mindless finger-pointing we endured in the wake of the tragedy,” sh added. “We will come out of this stronger and more united in our desire to peacefully engage in the great debates of our time, to respectfully embrace our differences in a positive manner, and to unite in the knowledge that, though our ideas may be different, we must all strive for a better future for our country.”

Gryphen--get over to C4p she has issued a response. Disgusting and typical. Took no responsibility, blamed and snarked----I am so angry I can barely function. This women should be prosecuted.
ReplyDeleteHey, hey! Just heard on Bill Press that Ms. Wonderful has released a video! No apologies--in fact, she's pointedly taken a defensive stance on campaign rhetoric that will please her playground-bully disciples to the max. Callers responding to it reacted negatively. I'm sure we'll hear about this all day, every day, for the next few days. Whew.
ReplyDeleteIs this part of the spin control from her billion dollar backers that Mike Papantonio mentioned yesterday?
SnowDrift Snookie's's recent speech evokes Regan, God, our Forefathers, and the last election. She takes zero accountability for her heated rhetoric....Her acting ability is atrocious and creepier than her daughter Bristol's (I smell bullshit!) Meemer's

ProFromOre 12:01 PM on 3/29/2010 17 Fans When I first saw this poster with the ‘gun sights’ on it, something didn’t sit right with me. I’ve been around guns since I was a kid, and I just didn’t see ‘gun sight’ when I first saw the symbol.
It didn’t dawn on me until last night when I was cleaning up some stuff from my desk and I ran across a welcome packet I received a while back from Southern Poverty Law Center after I had joined their org. In the packet is a map of hate groups and in one of the sidebars, there is an area discussing different hate groups.
My mouth fell open when I looked at it THIS time. Right there, in the section on white nationalists was the ‘gun sight’. It’s the logo for Stormfront!
I’d never seen this logo before I saw it on the SPLC map. I did a quick search at http://images.google.com/ on the terms ‘white nationalist’ and found out the ‘gun sight’ is the logo for Stormfront, a white supremacist site and forum. Look for yourself. Search Google images on the terms ‘stormfront logo’.
Wow…
A quote from SP's video: anyone ("pundints," journalists) who condemns the use of nasty rhetoric is committing "blood liable." Bill Press opined that it's a vicious attack on pundits and journalists, and that she's trying to one-up the President's upcoming statements at the memorial service today. I feel it's a dog whistle to any of her loyal supporters who may be a bit unbalanced.
ReplyDeleteWhat a c**t!
well here is your answer:
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin Accuses Journalists Of 'Blood Libel,' Calls Loughner 'Apolitical' (VIDEO)

Are the people on the maps having their estate property lines surveyed????? lol tragically
ReplyDeleteThe bitch is on her facebook page again. What a coward! Why won't she go public! Angle is talking too. Defensive, don't blame us or you'll regret it! Isn't that inflamatory? They won't give up will they? They really do want a battle. They should read about
ReplyDeleteAntietam. They still threaten to draw blood with words.
How many hours did she spend rehearsing her speech? I guess they got her meds just right for this one. No responsibility, just a good speech writer. Words, words, words, I am sick of her words. Empty and hollow.
Her statement that Arizona actions are "incomprehensible." This woman never took a history course when she attended the number of colleges, etc. I have a movie "Mississippi Burning" that reflects the south during the initial civil rights movement. Palin and Angle would fit right in Mississippi at that time.
Snowdrift continues to quote the Alzheimers stricken old man Reagan.
When will she learn that he destroyed so much in this country. I witnessed it myself. We no longer are the world power that we once were and Reagan is part of that downfall.
Here's her response, posted on Facebook of course, that stronghold of intelligent, legitimate discourse: "Sarah Palin Accuses Journalists Of 'Blood Libel".
ReplyDeletehttp://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/01/sarah-palin-accuses-journalists-of-blood-libel-calls-loughner-apolitical-video.php
Once again, it's all about her. Apparently she misused the term blood libel: "False accusation or claim that religious minorities, almost always Jews, murder children to use their blood in certain aspects of their religious rituals and holidays".
What a dangerous fool.
Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteI am sadder than ever to report that the message was not and will never be, driven home. From the NYTimes, Palin Calls Criticism Blood Libel:
“We will not be stopped from celebrating the greatness of of our country and our foundational freedoms by those who mock its greatness by being intolerant of differing opinion and seeking to muzzle dissent with shrill cries of imagined insults,” she said.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/12/palin-calls-criticism-blood-libel/
I am so very angry at this woman, my blood is boiling. She will never, ever fucking learn!
Republican leaders need to stand up, and tell this bitch, loud and clear, "Enough is enough!'
OT:
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess all of this news makes the Bristol-is-pregnant and the Todd-is-having-an-affair news fall off the radar. The Bristol picture posted on TMZ on 1-10 looked like a picture taken last summer/stock photo.
I saw Sarah on MSNBC this morning acting all offended that she was being blamed and playing the victim card. Boo hoo Sarah. We all feel your pain. NOT
Now just slink away back to your hole. We don't care about you anymore.
She still won't get it. She'll just think that wow, she had such a great idea that now it's being copied. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, also, too, ya betcha.
ReplyDeleteI understand the "killa from Wasilla" has a new response video out on the internet.

Blood Libal does she understand the term?
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel
Blood libel (also blood accusation[1][2]) refers to a false accusation or claim[3][4][5] that religious minorities, almost always Jews, murder children to use their blood in certain aspects of their religious rituals and holidays.[1][2][6] Historically, these claims have–alongside those of well poisoning and host desecration–been a major theme in European persecution of Jews.[4]

Palin's illogical response:
ReplyDelete“journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn."
Which journalists in the last few days were inciting hatred and violence? I can't think of any. I think it follows to reason that this "statement" is actually just what SHE'S accusing others of doing. At least, now we know her response. She only cares about herself.
One bright spot - article in the LA Times this morning about THE most important Iowa Republican volunteer, who has "met almost all the contenders" for the 2012 race, doesn't mention SP once!
ReplyDeleteSoCalMomof4
People forget there were other high profile political assassinations in the 60s. It doesn't matter what their political statements were, they were still assassinated because of their politics.
ReplyDelete================================
On August 25, 1967, Rockwell was killed by gunshots while leaving the Econowash laundromat at the Dominion Hills Shopping Center in the 6000 block of Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia.[16] Two bullets crashed through his 1958 Chevrolet’s windshield, and it slowly rolled backwards to a stop. Rockwell staggered out of the front passenger side door of the car, pointed towards the shopping center roof, and then collapsed face up on the pavement.
I teach EBD in a middle school. Sarah Palin is NO DIFFERENT from the other lying, manipulative, plainly mean bullying teen girls I deal with daily. Why won't a rational adult sit down with her and expose all this?
ReplyDeleteThese people always use death imagery
ReplyDeletewhen referring to the Left:
Glenn Beck Stuns Liberals
with a Conservative Roar!
The August 28, 2010, Restore Honor Rally put the final nail in the awaiting coffin of Liberal Media in America. The Rally inspired by Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin and backed by millions upon millions of fed-up Americans that were represented in unprecedented numbers by their peers in Washington, D.C. this past weekend. The rally delivered success far beyond what even the planners imagined. The successful rally presents the arrogant three stooges, Matthews, Olberman, and Mr. Ed Shultz at MSNBC with a major problem. . . . .
Therefore, should these three long recognized empty suits at MSNBC continue to spew their dispicable disparaging garbage and outright lies it will provide daily uproarious laughter in The Fox Newsroom and all over America. The three empty suits will be ridiculed and exposed for what they are; three buck-naked disillusioned 'would-be emperors' whose claim to fame will be lights out for General Electric Corporation, owners of NBC/MSNBC.
GE's stock is already well below any claim to being a hot commodity. Surely GE's Board of Directors will finally monitor Larry, Curley, and Moe, to see if their coverage of The Restore Honor Rally and all else they do is anything close to the truth. If the GE Board continues to condone the slanderous ways of these clowns , God help General Electric Corporation.

ReplyDeleteHow funny, she eggs people on with her rhetoric, but "Hey" don't hold me responsible.
That's our Sarah, she gives her "It aint my fault speech" and what do you see strategically placed in the camera shot? Oh my, isn't that a picture of a DS baby placed just in view for all to see? Well isn't that just dandy, Trig is being used again to solicit more sympathy for poor Sarah. By the way, the American flag by your fireplace is a nice touch. I think I'll move my American flag in my kitchen to my living room fireplace like you did.
ReplyDeleteNot only is her whole speech a bunch of BS, but the backdrop for her speech looks like a phony set. Notice the billowing flag and the faux stone fireplace. Looks like it was filmed at the local Moose Hall. But it wasn't. It was filmed in her bunker, like she is Osama bin Laden. How does it really feel to be singled out for your words, Sarah? Of course you do not possess the empathy gene, but can you imagine how people of Middle-Eastern descent felt after 9/11? Not? Of course not.
ReplyDeleteA bit off-topic, but I remember when the Oklahoma City mass murder took place. The first person taken in for questioning was a Muslim man. Meanwhile, I was screaming at the TV: It is a white man who is anti-government. Just like this murderer in Tucson. Yes, he is obviously deranged, but so was Timothy McVeigh.
I consider myself well educated and must admit that I don't think I have ever heard the term "blood libel" before.
ReplyDeleteWhy did the ghost writer chose this term that I don't think is well understood? Is it a dog whistle to her followers.
