With her reputation badly damaged, and seeking safe harbor, Sarah Palin runs to the warm embrace of Sean Hannity.

From the Caucus:

Sarah Palin is scheduled to sit for her first extended interview since the Tucson shooting rampage on Monday night, on the Fox News Channel.

An executive at Fox News Channel said that Ms. Palin would appear on the program of the conservative host Sean Hannity, and that the interview was scheduled to run through several commercial breaks.

I find it especially hypocritical that Sarah Palin walks around constantly using violent imagery in her communication with Americans, and acting like a tough chick from Alaska, yet when she faces harsh criticism she responds by hiding under her bed in Wasilla for several days on end.

Only when she feels she has no choice but to respond to her critics does she send out a poorly crafted video which continues to insulate her from questioning by reporters.

And then when THAT fails, and she realizes she has NO choice but to go in front of the cameras and allow a "journalist" to ask her for a response to actual questions, she chooses one of the very few individuals with a television show who will NOT ask her "actual" questions.  Instead she and Hannity will work out some bullshit agreement ahead of time about what questions he can, and can't, ask her, and then he will give her time to prepare her answers to the ones they agree on so she will not come off looking like the dumbshit that we all know that she is.

Undoubtedly, just like her ridiculous video, this will also fail to repair the damage that her constant violent rhetoric and arrogant attitude have caused.

However it is a chance to, at the very least, come off looking like a human being. That is a pretty low bar even for her, so perhaps she can manage to pull it off.

I know this is a little unusual for me, but Sarah since I know you will probably read this let me give you a little advice. (No it is NOT a trick.  Jesus don't you trust anybody?)

Do you remember those old westerns where the bad guy goes around town mistreating the townsfolk and fingering his six shooter every time anybody even thinks about standing up to him?

Do you remember how the audience erupted into cheers when the sheriff finally showed up and filled the villain with lead?

Well that is what happened to you this weekend.

Sure the lead that came your way was really only criticism and a repudiation of what you had done during the 2010 campaign season, but it still hurt a little didn't it?  And so did the glee with which everybody responded to your comeuppance.

Nobody likes the bully Sarah.  Except of course other bullies, like Rebecca Mansour and Tammy Bruce.

So if you are going to go on Hannity's show, then what you need to do is to step up and say you are sorry. You don't have to accept any blame, you just have to honestly say that you are sorry for what happened, and that you are going to choose your words more carefully in the future. You know, just on the off chance that somebody might take them wrong and be inspired to hurt somebody, like a Congresswoman talking to her constituents for instance.

Yes I know you NEVER say your sorry, but perhaps this one time you could make an exception.

After all, even children know when to say they are sorry.  Don't you think it is time you learned that lesson as well?

Oh, and by the way, stop acting like some kind of badass.  Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, buys it anymore.

G, please take down the gun imagery. Please. Let Barack's words inspire you to at least dial down any kind of gun talk or filling anyone with lead or otherwise rile somebody already pathologically riled. Please.

Palin apologized to her fellow church members in case the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" the church has received since she became the vice presidential candidate Aug. 29.

Why couldn't Sarah apologize like she did for the arson at her Wasilla Bible Church?

Instead she is pouring salt on everyone's wounds. All she needed to do is what she did about the arson. No one would blame her if she got out in front of things by apologizing. Apologizing, in case it had to do with "undeserved negative attention."
It was bad enough what happened in Tucson, now she is bringing in her religions attitudes and using Jews and all kinds of unnecessary things to make matters worse for everyone. Why not just apologize?

By the time she talks with Sean Hannity I hope she can go into how she feels about the nine year old girl that was like Piper. She could get alot of empathy if she cries and looks genuinely upset. It looks so ugly to be as cold as she is.

Still considering Sarah's video here is my thought today.
I don't necessarily believe it but it's not out of the question.

Also Democratic Underground has entries that carry the End of Day concept even further.

Sarah is sending a code message to her army of flying monkeys that her life is in danger, with the understanding that they need to defend her life, presumably with the guns she wants them to be allowed to carry.

    Pure and simple.

The victims of the blood libel generally were killed, often by a variety of horrible means.
Sarah has told the armed and angry inmates of her asylum that her life is in danger, that the media and the left have called down a blood libel on her.

The more I think about it. Even Sarah cannot possibly be foolish enough to do what she did yesterday without a reason. She issued an inflammatory rant guaranteed to get slammed by just about every political ideological group. She chose to be inflammatory rather than compassionate deliberately and calculatedly.

She was deliberately throwing chum to her sharks.

She claims she is the target of a Blood Libel, on a day when the rest of the country is mourning, knowing the press and the bloggers will go nuts and rain insults and bad press on her, confirming in the minds of her army of the insane that she is indeed in danger.

Couple that with the publication of Beck's statement that if she were assassinated the republic would be destroyed.

As well has her own exaggerated claims that her life is in danger, she needs extra security at her speeches, McGinnis is invading her privacy, there is a threatened gang rape of Willow, etc. She is programing a loosely united army of "White Knights" or "Rescuers" to come save her at some point in time. And since her followers are armed, she presumably means an armed rescue that would involve destroying what ever threatened her, like some government entity, the LSM, the RNC, local or state republican leaders, who knows.

I'd look for some more shootings and lots of threats of shooting in the near future.

It may not be an accident that it is Republican congress persons who want plexiglass shielding, more body guards and guns on themselves in the halls of Congress.

As for Palin acting like a badass - let her go at it as it continues to expose her for the vindictive, thin-skinned space cadet that she is.

I don't want to hear her 'sorry' not - she's a day late and a dollar short and it would be totally empty. For her to say it now is because somebody found an engaged brain cell and told her she had to. That's not leadership and most certainly not Presidential.

Let her continue to make it about her - as she's doing the job for us of digging her hole deeper. The 'middel' and the other side haven't listened to us before and in fact have become very defensive. The 'middle' and the other side are being turned off by her by her own doing.

All I can say is that Palin is receiving incredibly bad advice from her PR team, if in fact she has one. This interview with Hannity may further endear her to her rabid fans, but it will do absolutely NOTHING to bridge the cavernous divide between her and the majority of Americans. What a fool she is. And a coward.

All the grimacing she does on camera trying to convey the tough, serious, persona is comical. She is a coward like Cheney and a grifter like Nixon. So much can be said about her mental competence (or lack thereof) but she isn't senile like Reagan yet (his Alzheimer's was evident in his first term). Had to laugh at the power outage.

There are so many people affected by this tragedy that Sarah Palin has no idea the ripple effect this is going to create.

Sarah will definitely drum up some exposure over the weekend with threats against her life and family, but truly the only people that are going to buy her bull are the devout followers and they are dwindeling I am sure.

Michelle Bachman is going to run and what will Sarah do then.

I can guarentee there will be lawsuits against her it is just a matter of time. She deserves everything negative coming her way. She deserves to go away and hide under a rock.

But Sarah Palin will not go away until she is put in jail. 2 years of watching her and she operates on terrorizing and destruction that is all the lady knows thats it folks bullying, fear, lies, hate and destruction that is who she is and who she will always be.

Even if she did change it will be false and people will read through her. They don't get more pathetic than Sarah and her girls with guns and vicious language.

There is no coming back this time no matter how long they have her linger in this cesspool. No matter how many paid fools spew her lies and garbage. She will never come back. I expect a long tortuous slow decline will be all we will witness at this point. Even if she pays her friends to send threats, it won't fly in the end.

Has she bothered to contact the police in Wasilla that will do anything she wants, corrupt or not? I am only hearing that her aids and she has told a security detail, you know like Giuliani's friend, Judith Regan's sex toy, the News Corp level of lowlife criminals like Bernard Kerik. You know Murdoch will hook Palin up. Regan was paid a fortune to keep it out of court. Kind of like Wasilla.

From Kos (would be funny if they weren't close to what I expect that numbnuts will ask):
Hannity will ask Palin a series of tough questions, such as:

    • Once it became clear that you were the twenty-first victim of the Tucson shooting, how did it make you feel?
    • As you say, liberals have muzzled you, and your only way of communicating with the public is now through Facebook, Twitter, vimeo, Fox News Channel, and every other media organization known to mankind. How are you handling the oppressive weight of liberal censorship?

    • Is there anything you'd like to say to the people who are spreading the blood libel about you?

    • Why do you think President Obama hates America so much? Do you sometimes wish he would move back to Kenya, where he belongs?

    • What do you think it says about liberal blood-lust that they mistook the surveyor's mark on your target map for the crosshairs of a gunsight?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous6:13 PM

I think it will be hard for her to counterbalance her performance and words in her video with any interview right now. I would be concerned if she comes on Hannity and is remorseful and expresses the appropriate emotions. This will be a false front and I think it would be better to simply let her go down with her video.

SH: Poor Sarah, are you sad that you're being made the victim here?

SP: Whaaaa! Poor me, I'm the victim! The lamestream media is being mean to me!!! My words don't have consequences, but the lamestream media's words DO and they're inciting violence against poor meeeee!!!

SH: Poor Sarah, when you put crosshairs on Gabrielle Giffords, you didn't mean that literally did you?

SP: Whaaaa! Poor me, when I said RELOAD I didn't mean with a gun, I meant with a vote. And those were surveyor thingies anyway, because if you watched my Alaska show you could see I don't know how to use a gunsight anyway.

SH: Poor Sarah, why did you call your treatment by the lamestream media a "blood libel"?

SP: Whaaa! Poor Me! It IS a blood libel because I'm accused of killing innocent victims just like Jews have been. And I would never insult Jews because they're my allies in the rapture. No one loves Jews more than I do. *wink*

SH: Poor Sarah, you looked so Presidential in your fireside address to the country. Are you running for President?

SP: Whaaaa! Poor Me! There are no other Republicans out there who have defended me, so I have to look at the lay of the land and see that if they aren't commonsense conservative enough to defend a Mama Grizzly I might have to go out there and draw a line in the stand and make that tough decision that's best for me.

    SH: Thank you Poor Sarah.

Not to be critical but I also agree that somehow the gunslinger/lead analogy strikes a very discordant note given the events of this week and the President's message last night. I noticed tonight on tv that try as they might others seem to be having difficulty too in avoiding gun terminology. Is it really that entrenched into American society? Can you not break the habit no matter what? Bet you could find a better comparative scenario if you put your mind to it. One without guns. Love your blog and what you're trying to do otherwise.

@Irishgirl - I totally saw the anger too! I turned the volume off (can't bear her voice)and just looked at expressions. Her eyebrows were really moving around, especially to furrow frequently. And I thought she was obviously showing tension at her mouth. I saw flashes of anger in her eyes a few times. I was so struck by the abrupt way she kept closing her mouth ("tightlipped" came immediately to mind) that I popped over to YouTube to compare her gestures to some other speeches. When President Obama spoke immediately following the tragedy, his forehead was completely relaxed. He frequently closed his mouth as he finished sentences, but there seemed more of a natural flow to the movement, conversational. He actually looked sad. He was reading from papers and kept looking down which also broke up his head-on focus. (With Palin looking straight ahead the WHOLE entire speech, I couldn't help but feel it was confrontational as opposed to expressive.)I also pulled up the video of Sheriff Dupnik, when he was being grilled by Megyn Fox. I wondered if I might possibly pick up on any frustration or irritation by him considering the baiting and spinning Megyn was trying to pull off. But no, his forehead was also relaxed, and the strong emotional tone was sad. He also came across as very sincere to me - his words and body movements totally matched. Megyn Fox, OTOH, was total doublespeak. She used words like sad or concerned but her facial expressions were totally made up and over-acted. My 8 yr old son walked up while I was doing these video comparisons so I asked him to look at just movement and tell me what he thought these people were feeling. He thought Megyn Fox looked "totally blank. She doesn't even look like a real person." (Ha! This is what *acting* looks like, sweetie.) He thought Sheriff Dupnik looked "really, really sad. Is he OK?" He thought President Obama also looked sad. He thought SP looked "really mad! Why is she so angry?" Then he turned to me and asked, "Shouldn't everybody be feeling sad about Tucson?"

    Sarah,

You can fake it all you want. Pin a flag on your coat. Learn a few grandiose words and use them in your scripts. Make foreign trips with cameras in tow. Keep your cult fired up at imaginary enemies. If what you seek is to be famous, you can achieve that. If you want more money, you can likely make quite a bit more. If you are seeking to make the general public believe that you're something you're not, it ain't gonna work. You are not cut for public office, any public office, because you don't even care about the public. You are a phony through and through. The more you try, the more we see it, because you just simply cannot fake it well enough to hide the truth about who you really are: a small, insecure, selfish woman who knows nothing about love and all too much about hatred. You hate because, inside, you feel small. You hate others who are more talented than you, more mature than you, because by hating them, you perceive them as the bad and you the good. Yet it is all a game in your head. The truth is, you are small, vindictive, and full of pettiness. The public at large is learning the truth with every moment you seek to destroy others. You will try once again to pretend on Hannity, but at this point, you are only preaching to the choir.

Have a nice weekend rehearsing for your "interview".

I disagree that Palin is stupid.I think she knows exactly what she is doing and doesn't care what we think. Her base has a stock pile of guns and seem to be training to be good ole American terrorists.

  61. Where exactly is Sarah? I think we can safely say that Bristol is not in Arizona - at least not in the house in Maricopa. As someone observed, it is a diversion. I believe that Bristol is tucked away somewhere very isolated while she awaits the birth of her baby. Perhaps they'll pull a "Suri" and announce the birth several months later and wait until the baby is bigger to show pictures that are misleading as to the child's age. In the meantime, Sarah has been holed up in her bunker while, either her latest adventure in plastic surgery heals or she acclimates to a new prescription of a psychotropic drug. Or waits until the Toad Storm subsides. She would have gotten away with it if it were not for the mass murder in Tucson and the resulting backlash against her words and her images. Then she had to come out and defend herself and she was pissed. She is sending out code to her followers that she is being persecuted. She really believes it. Psycho much?

OT--Just got into it with my dad, a Rush Limbaugh-ite. He said, "What has Sarah Palin done that's divisive? Obama is the one who is trying to divide the country. He is promoting class warfare."

And, "Now Obama's trying to make hay from this shooting. He's exploiting it to make himself look good."

I'm shaking now, I'm so upset. My dad's an engineer with a master's degree, not a stupid man, but not open to hearing anything that doesn't coincide with his Rush-fueled views.

How could Palin possibly aspire to President of the US if she: does not allow comments on a FB video, scrubs comments from her FB page, blocks unwanted Tweets, does not do interviews of substance, will not answer questions on the fly, will not subject herself to criticism of any kind? That leaves a whole lot of us voters OUT, and doesn't say much for freedom of speech and divergent opinions.
I think she should look for a Monarchy.

And, our elder statesman in AZ feels badly about all of this? He brought Sarah Palin to the national scene and will reside in hell (with her) because of his idiotic choice.

I have no regard or respect for either of them.

Sarah apologized for the church fire, to cover up the fact that she was behind it. Not a sincere apology, but a self-serving apology.

A "friend of a friend" at the CBC told that they tried to get an interview with Sarah last year. She laid down her conditions of basically her handing them the approved questions to ask her. The CBC, being the trusted news provider that it is, said: thanks but no thanks.

How can she possibly be in public office without answering to the media?? Mind-boggling. Thankfully, she is finished.

Erica from Dallas- I have been listening to Howard Stern for twenty years, and I do know that he is not everyone's cup of tea, bur beneath all the raunchy stuff, Howard has always been very progressive and pragmatic.

Howard has been a supporter of Obama, and pegged Sarah as an idiot from day one. His assessment is spot on here, as it usually is when he also goes off on Rush, Beck, and O'Reilly.

Break a leg, scara!!!!! NO MATTER what you say, no one is going to believe you. You have been given far too many opportunities to be a human being and you are just incapable. Yeah, maybe for a couple of days a few will say, see she said she was sorry, she is finally getting it, blah, blah, blah, but unfortunately for you, Giffords is still in the hospital, people are dead, and Christia's face will forever be linked to the crosshairs you refused to take down initially-good luck with that. You are a Scaredy Cat who is going to hide behind the biggest Paylin Panty Sniffer out there and you want us to take you seriously--LMAO

    Sarah Palin, tough?

Of all the myths around this woman, this one baffles me the most. She has never ONCE stepped up to the plate and done anything challenging.

She couldn't even fire Walt Monegan. She got on a plane and had someone else do it. She couldn't fire John Binkley. How did that happen? She turned off his Blackberry. How freaking immature. Why not just pass him a not in class?

She couldn't even handle ONE challenging point on the gubernatorial trail. Someone challenged her Pt Thompson rant at the BP/Aleyeska Open Forum, and her campaign called that afternoon to say she wouldn't be back for any more open forums due to the "hostile atmosphere." All because someone pointed out her rant about Exxon was pointless because there was no pipeline.

You might remember there was some kerfuffle over whether she would attend the second one. Her campaign never responded to the invite, but they put a place for her out at the forum anyway. Boy, was her campaign upset! How dare those constituents think she ought to come speak to them! Sarah doesn't speak to anyone who doesn't believe her shit doesn't stink.

Sarah's Motto: If your nose isn't up my ass, then I don't deal with you. Show me the brown, baby.

To Anon at 5:12 PM: I agree with you wholeheartedly. Sarah has been orchestrating this sort of thing for quite a while now. I believe she knows EXACTLY what she is doing, and to whom it is all directed. In fact, I mentioned something like this to my husband that day she filmed the interview in front of the turkeys being slaughtered. I believed then that it was some sort of demonstration. She wanted to show everyone that she was not afraid or squeamish about blood or guts, and she would not hesitate to use a gun. *SMH*

I always thought Sarah was stupid. Some here suggest that she's not stupid, but in fact insane. Sometimes there is a fine line between insanity and brilliance.

Sarah has to take responsibility for her words and actions. Therefore, rather than try and excuse her for perhaps having misguided handlers and ghostwriters, I give her credit and responsibility for every word she and her handlers say.

One thing she says is that she doesn't believe in coincidences. If she believes that, then it is no coincidence that people seeing a map with cross hairs on it interpret it as rifle cross hairs.

Now being intelligent, Sarah knows that - and trying to say they were surveyors' marks was just a deflection.

Sarah has nothing going for her of substance. Given that, she has to influence people through something she does understand very well - and that is symbolism. Her whole life revolves around it. From the flag pin, to the ever presence of Trig, to the shouts of "Freedom", her invocation of "Ronald Reagan" and God, and to her made up symbolic language of "Death Panels" and "Mama Grizzlies" - everything she says or does is symbolic in some way.

She "pals around" with Glen Beck - who is so fixated on symbolism that he sees symbolism and connections in everything, and he connects everything to "evil". With Sarah there is no such thing as "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".

Sarah always uses symbolism as her brand - with the purpose of influencing people. Why she does this is anybody's guess - insanity? greed? narcissism? sociopathy? all of the above?

Because of this, there is no way that Sarah did not try to influence people with her cross hair imagery. It was no accident that she chose the words "blood libel". The timing of her fake eulogy, in which she hardly mentioned the tragedy but concentrated on symbols which she used to victimize herself for 8 minutes, was no accident.

She doesn't want to debate with anyone because as they say, "in a battle of wits, she is unarmed". In her own closed world of tweets and sycophants, however, she is armed and dangerous.

She may be finished politically, but she has a whole army of sycophants behind her that will try and do damage control. Even that "I am not a crook" Tricky Dicky Nixon ended up as president, and I fear Sarah is far more dangerous that he was.

I wouldn't count her out yet, so please continue to call her out.

What is strange is why are they waiting until next Monday?

It must take them forever to make her camera ready. They have to work around her medications. She can't be too hyper or too slow. It is an undaunted task. Now that they know to be more careful about the teleprompter that will take more time. The prop mantle has to be perfect. What about flag sizes and positions? They must do better with details. Everyone is laughing their heads off with the behind the scene imagery they provoke.

She represents Fox and there is no excuse that they allow them to do such a poor job. They could learn a few things from OBL's videographer.

    Timing is not their forte.

I'm beginning to think it is only Todd and Sarah alone in the little TV studio. Tammy Bruce and Becky Mansour faxing the script and Willow and Piper doing last minute rewrites. She may go for the more personal this time. No apology but a Sarah facsimile. She will love her friends in Israel. She needs to try and look human, other than angry and self absorbed. Not too much Vick's, just a glimmer of teary eyes. Maybe Piper can come in and snuggle on her lap by the fire and she can say something about "as a Grizzly..." she knows how bears protect their cubs when out on the political event trail.

I may even watch this next one on YouTube to check out if they get anything right this time.

This reminds me of the McCain fiasco. They have the rest of the week and weekend to prep Sarah. Right now Palin is in hiding with advisors prepping her for her FOX appearance. They gave her the questions in advance and gave her an idea what her answers should be. They probably brought in consultants to help her with her facial expressions.
