CBN releases the video of the Grizzled Mama's nonsensical interview with David Brody.

I addressed this interview yesterday.  But that was before they had made the video available

As usual seeing, and hearing Palin give her answers to a questions reveals even more about her lack of intelligence and inability to answer a question in a coherent manner.

Here see for yourself.

Here is what has now become Palin's famous dig at the President, suggesting that he was not ready for the 3 a.m. phone call, but also notice that she is so ignorant of how international diplomacy works that she actually seems frustrated that the White House has not told the American people just who THEY are going to replace Mubarak with.

It seems that in Palin's world, the United States chooses the leaders of foreign countries, not the people themselves. I wonder which one of her favorite Founding Fathers (Which as you know is "all of them.")advocated that?

Here she is asked about making the mainstream media irrelevant (Listen for her heavy sigh at the beginning of the question.) At the end she confesses that what media "feeds" the American people "scares me." Yeah if I were her I would be scared too, especially if she has any inkling as to the things that I know are coming her way.

It is amazing that she seems to quite literally believe that she could fix the media in this country if they would JUST listen to her and take advantage of her "Journalism degree."  First she wants the US to appoint a leader in Egypt and now she wants to take over the media in this country.  Whose the Socialist again?

In this last video Palin is asked about what she would do differently if she decided to run for President in 2012.

Her response "I would continue on the same course of not really caring what other people say about me or worrying about the things that they make up, but having that thick skin and a steel spine" shows a complete lack of self awareness on her part, and is indicative of somebody who completely believes her own bullshit.

(For those who cannot get the videos to play, or just cannot stand to listen to Palin talk, you are in luck because clicking the link at the top takes you to the CBN website and they provide a transcript to spare you from her screechy voice.)

I still stand by my statement that Sarah is probably mentally challenged. She cannot complete a coherent thought or sentence without going off into 2 or 3 different tangents. Maybe she's just ADD.

Having thick skin and a still spine sounds like a debilitating disease. Perfect description.

What the media feeds the American public is Sarah Palin and more Sarah Palin! She is wholly a creation of the "lamestream" media who are too lazy to engage in actual journalism. If they actually did their jobs Sarah Palin's political career would be a distant, vaguely unpleasant memory.

Her writers gave her a big headline phrase "straight to the answering machine" and Palin fluffed her delivery. She stumbled around trying to clear the word salad to get it out but blew it.

Lucky for Sarah that the reporting was all in print, with careful editting so her big line sounded almost coherent via CNN, NY Times, etc.

The extended twitter silence from Palin now looks like she is happy being muzzled. Her meds must be pretty high dose.

She talks all the time about "what she stands for" but I really haven't ever heard her be specific about anything. WHAT DOES SHE STAND FOR??

Other than totally reinventing Ronald Reagan's legacy to inject in every nonsensical talking point, she never offers solutions or ideas. She's just the crazy lady standing at the sidelines criticizing the President and weighing in on every issue no matter her level of ignorance, which, by her comments on the Egypt situation, is great.

Does she not have any capacity for embarrassment?

Yet, another example of Sarah's opposite world. The REALITY is she cares A LOT about what people say about her, as evidenced in her obsession with Blogs as though they are some sort of media outlet. As a matter of fact, I think she is preoccupied with it and dedicates more time to that than understanding political issues (which she obviously dedicates, essentially, no time to).

And while we're on the subject of what she would do differently, if she chooses to run (which is looking highly unlikely), she also would have to address what is different in her life now that she feels she could be president but only a couple years ago couldn't even finish a term as governor. But, I really don't think it's going to get to that point. So far, the best thing I've seen her do since I've become aware of her, is doll up for photo shoots....

And how disgusting was that interviewer feeding her the lines, setting up the emotional level of discourse. He really is a hack.

It's very clear that when her voice goes up and her eyes get all buggy that she is flat out LYING. I sooooo want this woman to shut up, but the more she talks the more she digs her own political grave and that's a GOOD thing.

Palin made similar remarks last year in sharing her take on the media industry during an interview on Fox News. At the time, she also cited her own credentials as grounds for assuming the role of critic.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism," she explained. "And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism -- who, what, where, when, and why -- of reporting. I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."

Palin trails Obama in red Tennessee

Sarah Palin's big problems among the GOP faithful are on clear display in a new poll that shows large numbers of Republicans aren’t sure about her and the tea party darling trails President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup in Tennessee — even with the president's job approval numbers running low in the state.

The poll in the solidly red state where she and McCain crushed Obama by 15 points two years ago is a warning bell that Palin, despite her following and appeal to conservatives, remains fairly radioactive to some Republican voters, who are far from convinced she can win in 2012.

In a hypothetical match up, 42 percent said they'd back Obama, while 37 percent picked Palin. Another roughly 20 percent picked none of the above, and other potential Republican candidates weren't measured.

Palin says nothing in particular about Egypt, still gets headlines

...So Palin memorized an adviser's pre-scripted attack line before launching into word salad. Despite the fact that she failed to give even the vaguest impression that she had any idea what she was talking about, that line, referencing a commercial from the 2008 Democratic presidential primary campaign, launched a thousand headlines and breathlessly phrased e-mail alerts.

We're talking about a reference to a political advertisement that is literally three years old -- and is essentially meaningless outside a closed circle of political reporters, advisers, and news junkies. Try to explain the significance of this remark to people outside the beltway and their eyes would glaze over like you were elaborating on the relationship between midi-chlorians and force sensitivity to a first date. But just as intended, this precrafted "diss" managed to substitute in press reports for anything resembling a passing familiarity with what's happening in Egypt. In fact, it mostly sounds like Palin is complaining because Obama hasn't "taken a side," so she's not quite sure what's she's supposed to be against yet (although, in a response that's probably more pavlovian than intellectual, she gets that she's supposed to see the "Muslim Brotherhood" as the bad guys).

Despite the fact that the interview mostly demonstrated that Palin has a short-term memory, she still had reporters hanging on her every word. The irony of Palin's persona, and the carefully nurtured grievance at the heart of it, is that she's so often graded on a curve.

anonymous comment on the reagan ranch thread: "supporters have an unbelievably high cognitive dissonance threshold level"

That phrase very well sums up the problem. Sarah Palin could be wearing a white sheet with hood and waving a mock noose in this interview and it would still "resonate" with her base.

Palin has managed to stay well under the outrage threshold of the average American. A CBN interview isn't enough to trigger widespread disdain. Even a re-emergence on twitter won't be enough.

Actually, I think her words always sound more credible coming out of her mouth than when one reads the transcript. When reading, one gets the full impact of the tortured syntax and complete lack of substance. But she speaks with such profound confidence that she can carry you along if you're not careful.

I can see how those lacking analytical skills would simply fix on the key words and sound bites she drops and assume she makes sense. Those same people are so stupid that when someone like our President gives a brilliant speech, they don't understand what he is saying. In other words, they are used to not understanding what politicians say, so they don't notice she makes no sense. I mean, she's a politician isn't she, so she must know what she's talking about! She looks so confident and pretty and, wow, look at that plunging neckline! If she leans forward, maybe I'll see some cleavage and...

BTW, the word you want is indicative, not inductive, Gryphen.

Will someone please call her bluff regarding her journalism degree? I read somewhere that the Dean who signed her degree confirmed it was his signature, but had no recollection of her whatsoever. It's my hunch she never graduated and that the McCain folks pulled strings to get her degree after the fact.

I actually have a degree in journalism and used to work as a reporter and her ramblings about the state of journalism today are complete crap. Professional journalists today have great ethics. It's still a large and important subject area in J schools today. The large papers and networks (msm) do the best job with ethics because they can afford to hire the best journalists. It's the small papers and stations, that can't afford the best journalists, that have the most problems with ethics and fact-checking. FOX is widely regarded to be opinion journalism. She just doesn't like being exposed for what she really is, plays the victim, and then blames "journalism" for her looking like the idiot she is.

Oh, and BTW $arah. You must have missed the writing classes where we instructed to keep our sentences short and to the point. Your incoherent ramblings and run-on sentences would have received failing grades.

Sarah Palin Puts Some Words Together About Egypt

...I’ve read through this incomprehensible word salad three times and I still can’t figure out for the life of me what Palin is trying to say here. As with most of her comments on substantive issues, it seems like she’s just throwing talking points together in some kind of stream-of-consciousness chant, hoping that it will make sense when it all comes together.

    But it doesn’t.

Her main complaint seems to be that the Obama Administration isn’t being public enough about its actions in Egypt but, of course, diplomacy usually only works well when its done behind the scenes and out of the view of cameras. You might be able to turn a political career into a TLC reality show, but you can’t do that with the imminent collapse of a thirty year-0ld authoritarian regime.

Perhaps Palin’s remarks will make more sense when the video is released later today, but I doubt it. Judging from the transcript, though, it’s fairly clear she still has years of homework to do before she speaks out on foreign policy matters again.

In the first segment she implies that the American people have no access to news in order to make up their own minds. Which means that she slept though the part of her Journalism education where the Prof. Explains why journalism is considered the fourth branch of government. It allows for the “well informed electorate” upon which democracy depends.

And of course she equates a popular and largely peaceful uprising in Egypt as equivalent to a 1950's style missile attack by the USSR. That is where the mythology of the 3 am phone call came from. She is apparently unaware that all branches of our defense mechanism are monitoring events world wide 24 hours a day, so the days of a surprise nuclear missile attack from Russia really don’t much exist any more.

Of course in that second segment, everything that she says she finds scary about misreporting applies to her, but as always rules and QA don't apply to her, just to everybody else.

And she is too blind to see herself in the mirror.

As usual, $arah Palin has no clue about what she is talking about. She likes to stand on the sidelines shooting spitballs, instead offering any better solutions. It is not at all shocking that a stupid fascist bitch like $arah Palin thinks the U.S. should choose the leaders of other countries, and thinks that SHE should control the media. I’m worried about the right-wing propaganda that the media and $arah Palin are feeding the American public. After all, Palin already got several people shot in Arizona.

I would trust Barack Obama any day to handle a “3:00 a.m. phone call” before I would trust $arah Palin. Most people would choose the President over Palin's deranged ass, anyway. $arah Palin couldn’t handle a 3:00 a.m. soft-ball interview. She couldn’t even answer what newspapers she reads. And, her handling of the Arizona shooting was terrible. I heard about how she let a bunch of Alaskan natives starve and freeze to death while still the governor of Alaska. The woman disgusts me.

$arah Palin does not have thick skin, and a “steel spine.” She does too care about what people think about her. If she didn’t she wouldn’t have had Gryphen thrown out of her book signing appearance, and she wouldn’t try to run away from reporters. She also wouldn't constantly play the victim, and pull out of an event in Colorado, because of an "onslaught of personal attacks." I doubt most of the things we hear about $arah Palin are made up. No one who actually possesses a steel spine would go around insisting they have one. This woman is just the completely opposite of President Barack Obama.

He's even-tempered, self-deprecating...and yet you sense he is a genuinely confident person. Palin is a strutting braggart...and you can tell she's faking most of her bravado.

Obama's a non-flashy thinker who actually gets things done. Palin is all noise and flash, and quit her job.

I thought she looked unusually haggard. But then she is in her late 40's and what that means to women's aging processes.

Some women get hit hard by menopause and some barely notice it, some grow older gracefully, some are Sarah Palin, but it does accelerate the aging process.

Watching Bachamnn and Palin try to continue to look like, and act like teenagers will get increasingly entertaining.

Sarah Palin always touts her journalism degree as though it gives her special insight into journalism to the point where she can "teach" the US media how to do journalism properly.

Her only practical journalism experience is in reading sports news off a teleprompter.

Yet the people she critizes (like Katie Couric) have received awards during their decades of journalism experience.

It's true that many journalists do not have journalism degrees. They often have political science, English, or history degrees. Some--like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity--never went to college. Others, like Brian Williams, never finished college.

She also always trots out the same mantra of "who, what, when, why, and where" that you learn in a high school journalism class. But she always forgets "how."

That is probably because she is incapable of figuring out "how."

Nobody would ever hire Sarah Palin to supervise seasoned journalists like Couric, Williams, Matthews, Blitzer, Sawyer, etc., simply because she has "a journalism degree." They have likely forgotten more than she ever learned about journalism.

And didn't she once say Obama wouldn't be a good president because he lacked practical experience as a government administrator? Yet somehow her BA from a series of low-rate universities qualifies her as a journalism expert?

As a journalist and editor, I have hired and worked with people who have BA degrees from better schools than Palin who have an elementary understanding of journalism and writing.

Palin cannot even write her own Tweets and Facebook posts, let alone function as a journalist.
Didn't she say Obama wasn't qualified to be president because he lacked

SARAH PALIN: "MICHELLE OBAMA STOLE MY DAUGHTER!"

That was SARAH PALIN's bitter complaint after her daughter BRISTOL agreed to work with Sarah's sworn enemy, the First Lady.

Michelle Obama, 47, has signed up teen anti-pregnancy advocate Bristol Palin to join her new public service council, the details of which have not been disclosed.

The partnership is shocking, considering Sarah, 47, has repeatedly blasted Michelle.

The scary thing is that there are others besides Palin who think that we have the right to dictate to other countries who should be in office and what kind of government they should have.

As far as the interview goes it is typical Palin hypocrisy. Is she really still trying to play the inexperience card against the President? I certainly would have Barack Obama get the call at 2 a.m. rather than Caribou Barbie. As far as her "thick skin", a tissue has thicker skin than she does.

I've never understood at all how someone whose total depth of journalistic experience entailed reading sports off a teleprompter could be considered an expert -- but hey, if Sarah says it, it must be true right?

Stupid Sarah so does amuse me when she comes across as an exasperated scold of journalists who've worked harder in one month than she has her entire, patchwork career. http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2011/02/
    sarah_palin_colorado_springs_speech_canceled.php

The "personal attacks" rationale seems wacky. After all, such reactions are absolutely standard for a figure as polarizing as Palin. If she was really that cowed by "negative rhetoric," she'd eschew this whole running-for-president thing for which she's clearly sowing the seeds in favor of lying low in an Alaskan dugout with a weapon at her side waiting for the next moose to amble past.

So what's really going on? As the Washington Post points out, "the cancellation of the speaking engagement frees Palin to attend the NBC/Politico Republican presidential primary debate at the Reagan Presidential Library in California, also scheduled for May 2" -- and while neither Palin nor other potential or announced Republican presidential candidates have confirmed that they'll be there, it opens the option for her.

And then there are details shared by the Denver Post in an article accessible via this item's initial link -- namely that the SKP Foundation reported total assets of just over $2,200 in 2009, and had already cut the originally announced ticket price of $185 in half before telling the public about the Palin visit. Such factors encourage speculation that either folks at the organization or members of the Palin camp realized that SKP was in over its head.

If your last name's Palin, it's apparently mandatory to turn every mundane thing you do into some sort of televised event. For example, buying a home in Arizona.

Tonight on E!, Palin will give a tour of her new diggs to host Guiliana Rancic, as she and her son, Tripp, discuss a collection of mind-numbing topics like her new Italian boyfriend, and what it's like to be in a long-distance relationship.

Don't know why I didn't think of this before: Palin is not going to be allowed to run for President. The Republicans are using her as a pawn knowing that she is too unpopular and erratic to be elected. Anyone they put up will look moderate and competent compared to her. That's why they have allowed her to get this far in the game.
It is just like the maneuvering that is going on in Congress right now with legislation relating to the Hyde Amendment. They never expected to get the new definition of rape through, so they threw it out there knowing when they gave it up it would appear that they were compromising on something. It was a bargaining ploy. So is Sarah Palin's role in the Republican party.
