It looks like a certain half term Governor is about to lose the only thing she ever accomplished while in office.

From Forbes.com:

Leading state lawmakers introduced legislation Friday to abandon a centerpiece of former Gov. Sarah Palin's administration: a state-sanctioned effort to advance a major natural gas pipeline.

The measure from Alaska House Republicans underscored the impatience and skepticism that many lawmakers have expressed about the current process and a belief the state is no closer than it was several years ago to realizing the long-hoped-for line.

Under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act championed by fellow Republican Palin, the state promised TransCanada Corp. ( TRP - news - people ) up to $500 million to advance a line. TransCanada won the exclusive license in 2008.

This truly was the ONLY thing that Palin could brag about doing while she was Governor.

Everywhere she goes THIS is what she uses to prove that she is an energy "expert" and that she has any credibility at all when it come to getting big things done.  Without it all Palin has to attract audiences is her fake Christian bonfides, her son's military service ( Which did NOT take him to the front line, despite her contention that he is a "combat veteran.") and the little Down Syndrome baby she adopted to prove her pro-life credibility.

Let's face it if the Republican lawmakers pass this legislation it will do almost as much damage to Palin's reputation and political aspiration as the shooting in Arizona did.

It would be giving Palin too much credit to say everything she has ever said about her governmental run was smoke and mirrors.

Anyone who had half sight could see she was a nightmare for the state of Alaska. The Bridge to Nowhere, the pipeline, making women pay for rape kits, threatening old mentors, hiring a city manager because she is incapable of running a village of 7000, disappearing as the legislature wears "Where's Sarah?" buttons, handing Mat Maid
over to friends who disappeared the money.
Expecting to be paid expenses while living at home.

She accomplished corruption and nothing else.

Sarah Palin Livid: Bristol Going To Work For Michelle Obama

Sarah Palin is upset again. That in itself is hardly newsworthy. By now, the Wasilla frontiers woman's myriad mood swings are of little interest to anyone save herself and her publicist. What makes the TLC reality star's latest hissy fit interesting are the objects of and the reason for her ire. Which are, respectively, her daughter Bristol and First Lady Michelle Obama; and the fact that the two will soon be working together.

Of course, dissing the First Lady is nothing new for La Palin. She's made something of a hobby of criticizing the President's wife for horrific offenses like dessert, smores, and "that anti-obesity thing." However, this time, according to The National Enquirer, Sarah is upset because "Michelle Obama stole (her) daughter!" No, Sarah isn't accusing the First Lady of kidnapping. She's furious because Mrs. Obama "has signed up teen anti-pregnancy advocate Bristol Palin to join her new public service council." And although the exact nature of the job has yet to be disclosed, Bristol has accepted.

Apparently, Bristol never paid attention to any of her mother's crazy anti-Michelle Obama tirades. Or perhaps she just has the good sense to seize an opportunity when one is offered to her. Especially after Washington University gave her the boot as a keynote speaker on teen pregnancy and abstinence. Bristol herself recently wrote about her mom's displeasure at her new employment situation on Twitter:

"I'll actually be in DC this week," tweeted Bristol. "First Lady has invited me to be part of council she's creating. Mom NOT happy, oh well."

Oh well. One can't please all of the Palins all of the time.

She's a "Mama duck to that baby now" and she can't wiggle out of it. It is so ironic that all of the things she flippantly bragged about before, 'drill baby drill' (then the massive oil spill) to 'don't retreat, reload' (then a rep that she had cross-hairs over and who spoke out about the consequences to that action) gets shot in the head to "i built a pipeline in alaska' (gets scrapped because they see how shoddy the deal was in the first place), 'my son is a combat veteran and nobody can take that away from me!' (he didn't get a CIB badge, a true sign he was NOWHERE near bullets); all of her mythology is crashing in around her and by extension, those who propped (and continue to prop) her up. I think God is trying to tell $arah that he IS TALKING TO HER and doing his best to send the message that "winners never quit and quitters never win" and "thanks but no thanks to this bridge to nowhere". Irony abounds in every crack in the veneer that is $arah Paylin.

Finally! I've been waiting for this to hit the fan. There is no way that pipeline is going to be built, and I don't think your state is going to get off the hook financially. Palin really screwed Alaska over with AGIA. It shows a complete lack of fiscal responsibility.

And she's left it on the table, getting dusty all these years later, never providing back-up - progressin our State she loves so much. . .

You can't count on Sarah Palin, ask John Stein, Todd's step-mother Faye, the Wasilla Sport's Complex, the City of Wasilla, Frank Murkowski, the Oil & Gas Commission, Todd's half sister Dianne, Levi Johnston, Walt Monegan, Frank Bailey, her other Commissioners, Andree McLeod, John Bitney, CPAC, John McCain, her children, AGIA, ACES and the ethics reform measure.

Everything about Sarah Palin is a lie, an illusion, a fabrication.

You can't count on Sarah Palin.

Gee, who would of thought a fanciful half a billion Pipeline to Nowhere wasn't going to happen under a quitting Governor and a Canadian Joe-the-Sixpack outfit continually expressing that they were in over their head?

Let's not fail to realize that the producers (Big Oil) that Sarah was givin a big middle finger to here owned the natural gas she wanted flowing through that pretend Pipeline.

This plan was flawed from the beginning, every other State program suffered under her neglect cause she wanted a "huge" North American infrastructure project under her belt to flash at the GOP.

It worked, without any accomplishment, Sarah walked in the American living room crowing about said accomplishment to bolster her credibility as an unknown but worthy national leader.

Alaska paid for Sarah's grooming, and then the RNC, but the Empress still remains without clothes. Now let the GOP Presidential hopefulls expose her.

Looks like Joe McGinnis' Pipeline Dreams article for the now defunct Portfolio Magazine deserves a republication with an update?

On His Birthday Sarah Palin Sodomizes The Legacy of Ronald Reagan

Tonight Sarah Palin didn’t celebrate the legacy of Ronald Reagan. She sodomized it with a snarl, a wink, and a smile. The greatest disservice of all to Ronald Reagan’s legacy came in the form of having a speaker like Sarah Palin who represents everything Ronald Reagan rejected. Even on a stage designed to honor Reagan, Palin could not contain her urges to appeal to worst in America by hatred and division. Where Reagan saw a shining city on a hill, Palin sees blood libel. The biggest insult to Ronald Reagan tonight was the lack of hope, optimism, and belief in America that Palin expressed.

Sarah Palin, you are no Ronald Reagan.

Here is the video of Ronald Reagan’s 1964 Time to Choose Speech:

    E X C E L L E N T Read!!

    Pipe Dreams
by Joe McGinniss Mar 17 2009

Editor's Note: On July 26, Sarah Palin resigned as Alaska governor, citing concerns that ongoing ethical investigations and her decision not to seek a second term would limit her effectiveness in office. What she did (or didn't do) to promote the development of a $40 billion gas pipeline will be a crucial part of her short history in office. This story, which was first published on March 17, delved into the long and complicated history of a pipeline that doesn't exist.

  21. Palin used words creating the impression she took on the big boys and this pipeline existed. Therefore she was not only an energy expert bit also had the largest pipeline built! People I know asserted to me having believed Palin's misinformation that she had built the largest pipeline! The existence impressed people giving Palin credibility wowing people. Why did she not tell the truth taking credit for what she did do instead of deceiving people she had delivered the gas already?

When I tell people the truth they are stunned as if they learned Tiger Woods does not golf it is a hoax.

When Joe wrote the truth revealing the pipeline had not been built Palin and Todd were enraged declaring she was the victim of a "hit piece" to destroy her. The real Sarah Palin promoted the pipeline and it is fact
A contract existed. In Palin land verifiable truth is to reveal her lies or fictional grandiose self.
For his accurate reporting Joe McGinniss was demonized as a pedophile hit man.

The kids do not apply to job credits. Nor was Palin in charge of air space or the national guard. Nor was she city manager of Wasilla. Did she hold office in the PTA?what is her foreign relations experience? That Dutch build dukes so dykes are for toxic spills? She is like the wizard of oz lol

Palin will continue to claim she built it and lie conning people everyone else is the liar.

Sarah Palin, AGIA and TransCanada, is this the final good bye?

Last year Sarah Palin was still talking about her gas pipeline as a major achievement and part of her vision for energy independence.

Alaska lawmakers are not so keen on the idea anymore. From Alaska Dispatch, February 4, 2011:

House GOP leaders say the state should bail on the proposed Alaska natural gas line project by mid-July if pipeline backers can't prove that it is economically viable.

House Bill 142, introduced Friday by House Speaker Mike Chenault and four other key Republicans, seeks a way out of the contractual agreement put in place between the state and TransCanada under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act. AGIA obligates the state to reimburse TransCanada up to $500 million for pre-construction studies and other work on the project, which envisions a large-diameter pipeline from the North Slope to either Valdez or Canada or possibly both.

But lawmakers are growing increasingly disenchanted with the pipeline's prospects and are not inclined to spend much more of the state's money on something that may never get built.

This is AGIA in a nutshell:

If the repeal goes through, Palin will find out how it feels to have a major legislative accomplishment go poof!the way she's been trying to have the Affordable Care Act disappear. I think the likelihood of repealing the AGIA is high since it's being done by the republican members of the Alaska State Legislature. Even they realize that Palin "energy expertise" is non-existent--something most of us already knew.

    The Pipeline doesn't exist?

    Heres' the dill.

That's a good thing. For Palin.

How much more embarrassing would a half built and abandoned pipeline be? No pipeline to scrap out means no TV show "Pipeline Scrappers in Alaska" which is a sure fire hit just like every Alaska show.

The pipeline was yet another Palin Falin and once again there is no real evidence for people to see. Just what is not there. Including up to $500 Million in expenses that Trans Canada can be reimbursed for whether the pipeline is built or not. In some cases Trans Canada can be reimbursed for expenses incurred BEFORE the AGIA dill was signed.

So here is a project that is backed up by $40 Billion of US Government guaranteed loans, and somehow this project gets bungled to the point that Alaska is on the hook for up to $500 Million for nothing, and no pipeline also too.

I have been told about this pipeline by a few idiots who believe it exists. I'd like to see a nationwide poll- how many believe this pipeline exists? John McCain maybe?
