It looks like encouraging the GOP to nominate Palin as their Presidential candidate might not be the ONLY way to make them irrelevant. Not nominating her might work just as well.

From Raw Story:

A new poll from Rasmussen released Monday reported that Sarah Palin's divisiveness as a candidate may pose a serious electoral problem for the Republicans in 2012.

According to the poll, nearly half of likely GOP voters who support Palin said they would switch to a third party candidate if the former Alaska governor and current Fox News personality didn't secure the presidential nomination in 2012. Fully 46 percent of Palin backers said they were likely to vote third party if Palin lost, with 22 percent saying it's "very likely."

This devotion among Palin fans is especially problematic for the GOP because, as an earlier Rasmussen poll showed, Palin is the GOP front-runner with the largest opposition among Republican voters. Thirty-three percent of likely GOP voters said Palin was the candidate they least want to see win the presidential nomination.

You know I completely support the Palin-bots decision to leave the party.

I mean dammit if the Republican party will not support your desire to get the chance to vote for the most dimwitted and least qualified candidate available, well then you should just turn your little electric scooters around and drive as fast as your tiny wheels will carry you away from those tea party poopers.

The nerve of them wanting to nominate a candidate that might have a snowball's chance in hell of beating the President.

But a third party candidate may take away disgruntled Democrats too!
But I can't see a person that would be agreeable to tea baggers and Democrats, that person would be promising two totally different ideologies.

Palin may have some competition...and I'm sure she's jealous of his name:

"The nerve of them wanting to nominate a candidate that might have a snowball's chance in hell of beating the President"...

...or run the country intelligently. It is their country that she would put at risk, too. Having her run would be a lose-lose situation for them.

They're all talk. These bots would vote for McCain again if Palin told them to. Watch, she won't run - and she'll back whoever does get the GOP nomination and the bots will vote accordingly. I watched these people talk themselves into believing that Carly Fiorina was a real conservative because Palin told them so; I watched them talk themselves into believing Christine O'Donnell was worthy of being a US Senator because Palin told them so; and I've watched them talk themselves into believing that quitting her job made Palin a serious contender for President - and in need of PAC donations - because she's dropped hints she has no intention of following through on.

Thing is, they are moving mountains to make Sarah Palin palatable to the nation. This woman had no business being rolled out by the mainstream only to riv'il what an ideological, emotionally and intellectually stunted this Valley Trash Governor was and is.

All this promotion is to make this cripplingly insecure woman bigger than she is. This is an amazing ego trip bolstered by only a small but vocal percentage of the American public.

If you inchoate, supposed "Tea Party" folks all love her so much, ask her to declare herself a new religion so that she can stick it to the government she so loathes yet wants to influence. Non-Taxable, but then, she'll lose one of the only qualifications she had to promote herself as a candidate worthy of Wasilla City Council and Mayoral consideration. Tax Payer. LOL. My, how far she's come.

I hope the GOP nominates someone decent and politically to the center, someone I could vote for. If Sarah gets the nomination then I'll be voting for Obama again.

Gryph - have you seen the article on HUFFPO from the NE editor who worked the John Edwards baby story?

Sounds like what is happening with SP story. Folks here should not question your teasing as you need to keep up the pressure.

Off topic, but there is an interesting story on Huffington Post about how the Enquirer pursued the John Edwards story. It's a fascinating account of how they had a psychologist profile Edwards and used satellite images to track his movements, among other things, to finally get him to admit to the truth. The psychological profile sounds a lot like the armchair analyses out there of Sarah Palin.

  13. So, okay. What third party do they have besides the AIP?

Yea! Split the party, Sarah, that a girl!

She has too much ego to tell her supporters to vote for the other GOP candidate. We can count on that.

  16. This morning the news posted the POTUS's schedule of meetings. It was so clear to me Palin is not a serious person to hold such meetings or listen to nor value research, solutions, and rationally process information.

I can not imagine Palin giving a serious nor factual speech nor address the state of the union. I can imagine Palin doing what she has spewing and spinning fiction in constant campaign mode all about her or ranting about fyke builders for an oil spill. I have seen Palin's rage when held accountable even for her own words.

I firmly believe Palin distorts self and facts not tethered in reality. It is not enough to be a pit bull with lipstick nor use words as self serving tools and weapons to degrade, demonize others to control her and her family's grandiose fictional identities.

Palin has patterns to take a scrap of truth twist it all to her favor while distorting it negatively against another. I am thinking of even dessert used to falsify she is one grandiose extreme and M Obama the extreme opposite. Or the Palin's are sexually pure and others are theist contemptible of sexual child predators. Palin does this splitting and dividing about our citizens and other countries also.

She is unstable. She lies about things people have no reason to lie to serve her grandiose persona. If a person is incapable of admitting to a babysitter or nanny they are not to be trusted with anything and not a leader.

You are correct that the bots convince themselves of what Palin tells them. Great point! I have read the same @ c4p. They convinced themselves the reality show was a documentary about AK. Any comments that do not engage in deception and distortions are reacted to with rage banishing people and labeling them as hatred.

It is sad to read troll comments here duped the first lady is going to take dessert away or goverent control of what people eat. Palin positions these people that she IS their savior however it is mind games used to use and anise followers preying on their gullibility scaring them in manipulative BS fiction.

This is John McCain's legacy, and if she ends up destroying the GOP, then that would just be karma. Anyone with her negative approval ratings would be a fool to even consider running for higher office. So she's definitely going to give it a try.

Huntsman = new Romney. Both are Mormon and are unworthy of note as far as the far right "evangenital" wing flies.
Romney has enough cash to bury both Huntsman and Palin in an avalanche of attack ads.
Huntsman has no name recognition outside of Utah but he does have some credibility (foreign service, finished his governorship successfully, maintains his dignity).
Palin has some cash and the ability to sponge more off her cultish followers, but that's about it.

Sarah has competition, one who shares her hate for our president and like Sarah is loud mouthed, crude, ignorant and long past her "expiration date".

    excerpt;
"Roseanne Barr has announced her run for president. On the agenda: pointing out when the emperor is wearing no clothes and putting the “pal” back in Palestinian. Her latest book, “Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm,” details her platform and latest musings. We talk with Barr about her book, her presidential run and the truth in satire."

    See the book here, http://www.thetakeaway.org/2011/jan/05/roseanne-barr-declares-state-roseannearchy/

I'm praying for Sarah to run and loose early the early primaries and then create a new independent party and run on that platform and then ask the Supreme Court to intervene when she looses and then when they don't... wait for it...
call for a "New American Revolution".

    You Betcha: Don't Retreat...

Hmmm... there maybe an Anti-Christ Novel in this nightmare somewhere.
Or a comedy film vehicle for Tina Fey.

Palinbots are basically Freepers. Who swore they would never vote for McCain. Who proceeded to vote for McCain, anyway. And who will vote for whoever is the GOP candidate in 2012. What they say today is meaningless.

Thanks for bringing that up, I read that very early this morning before going out to do errands and I thought it was an excellent story and made me think of Gryphen and the N.E. stories now about the Queen of Mean.

  25. They'll probably go Libertarian and vote for Paul. If he runs. Maybe Sarah can be his VP. She likes to run on a ticket with a really old white guy with one foot in the grave. So that if they die in office she can take over.

  26. And McCain still hasn't apologized for unleashing this plague on the nation. I imagine he'll apologize in private to the GOP leadership for what he's done to them before he'd ever apologize to us.
