From Yahoo! News Senior Media Reporter Michael Calderone's Tweet:
Olbermann conf call Tues: he and “new partners will make an exciting announcement regarding the next chapte"

What is it you ask?
Beats the hell out of me, and Olbermann is not being very forthcoming either:
OK it's true! I've signed with the Yankees. I'm competing with Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon for the 5th Starter's job

Hmmm, well I guess we will find out sometime tomorrow.
But until then, anybody have any ideas? Or suggestions? Or humorous guesses?
Update: Could the New York Times have the inside track on this story?
Keith Olbermann, the former top-rated host of “Countdown” on the news channel MSNBC, will announce his next television home on Tuesday, and people familiar with his plans pointed Monday to a possible deal with the public affairs channel Current TV.
Neither Mr. Olbermann, his representatives, or executives from Current TV would comment on the move, but they did not deny that the channel, which counts former Vice President Al Gore as one of its founders, will become at least one partner in Mr. Olbermann’s future media plans.
One of the people with knowledge of the plans said Mr. Olbermann would have an equity stake in Current TV. The people insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized by their employers to comment in advance of the official announcement.
Well personally I am just happy to be chasing a rumor that does not have anything to do with "you-know-who."
This is what they've got on the other side. I'd love to hear Keith's take on this. I miss Keith's take on a lot of things, so I hope that whatever he does, he can speak freely and I can listen to him. In the meantime, this is why we will have four more glorious years of President Obama.

The Conservative Political Action Conference, aka CPAC, which is the annual conference of the American Conservative Union, is happening this week, and, as per usual, they're doing a straw poll to see who the leading contenders are for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
Here are the 15 names on listed on CPAC's presidential straw poll: Michele Bachmann, Haley Barbour, Herman Cain, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and John Thune.
Olbermann will lead Palin's legal team during the matmaid trial.
ReplyDeleteI suggest that there must be some big $arah news coming out soon. You've been doing a lot of "fluff" posts!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see him get back into sportscasting in some capacity. Glad he's got something lined up.
ReplyDeletehe's join aohell/huffpo monster
ReplyDeleteCurrent TV. Check out Twitter. and NYT is already reporting the rumor. No one is denying it.
ReplyDeleteHe will start a blog.
ReplyDeleteRodeo star Superhero?
ReplyDeleteBill O'Reilly psych evaluator?
Anti-Comcast computer hacker?
Interviewer of Limbaugh's drug dealers and umm--procurers?
He's going to dress like a different fox news journalist everyday but actually report objective, unbiased news. It'll be turning over a new leaf for him and fox news personalities
ReplyDeleteCurrent TV, now at HuffPo

I would love Keith to create a blog. Don't get me wrong Gryph, I love visting you everyday. But we need more progressive blogs. Huffington Post has sold out long time ago. The merger with AOL has lead me to believe HP will become another corporate owned right wing piece of garbage.
ReplyDeleteI hope he starts his own version of Huff Post, especially now that HP is a part of AOL.
ReplyDeleteHe is joining Oprah on OWN!
ReplyDeleteHe will run for Joe Lieberman's Senate seat in CT. ??
ReplyDeleteAOL just bought HuffPo. Betcha KO goes there too. Write it down.
ReplyDeleteThe Olbermann Post. Ariana is going to step to the right w/this AOL gig. Maybe a lefty to Colberts righty and Stewarts can't-we-all-get-alongy on Comedy Central?
ReplyDeleteBull fighter. Definitely.

I can't get through with any of my browsers, IE, Chrome, Firefox and yes, PC based. What's up? I see that he's posting new stuff, and I hear people say they have no problem getting to it, but I just get a 404 page error every time. I'm DYING to get into it!
@WakeupAmerica --- yes, I have a pc and it opened WTF blog site. --
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE it if he started a news portal for the progressive left, of which there is little to be found that aggregates articles the way that Huffington Post does. That would be pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the HP has definitely taken a lean to the right and I'm getting so tired of Sarah Palin plastered over half the pages.
ReplyDeleteI like the "Update" news! But, I thought KO, in his early release terms with MSNBC, wasn't allowed to do TV?
ReplyDeleteLink to NYT blog post about CurrentTV.
ReplyDeleteI'm not totally believing it in that in the blog post they mention TheOlbermannShow.com was registered 2 days before he left MSNBC.
That is incorrect as the name registered is TheKeithOlbermannShow.com was registered on Jan 19th - what's a correct fact or two between friends when the blog post is written by 2 writers - By BILL CARTER AND BRIAN STELTER
Current TV with Al Gore
ReplyDeleteAlaska WTF is not on blogspot anymore. Click the link from the homepage of IM
ReplyDeleteHow about this one I saw at Huff.
ReplyDeleteHe is going over to Fox to knock all the dicks out of Doocy mouth.

Quite frankly, I'm not impressed with KO anymore...he got paid a Massive package of money to leave MSNBC (who'm I really don't like much)
ReplyDeleteI think people are feeling sorry for this guy and all I can say is you SHOULDN't!
Now, if we are talking about Rachelle Maddow, let's pay attention to someone that actually care's about what she is talking about.
I'm not putting Olbermanns message down, but i am reconsidering his loyalty as to his message.

I'm pretty sure that we are all trying to get to Alaska WTF from Im already. Something is really screwy.

ReplyDeleteI tried clicking on the IM link on IM homepage and had no problem. I have PC, browser IE, so have no answer why you can`t.
Keith is going to write with M Moore for his last best docupose'
ReplyDeleteTo those who are having trouble accessing alaskawtf. I have a Mac, and have no problem.

I find that on the address space it sometimes adds extra words like 'comment' all by itself. Then I have to erase the extra words and take the address back to what I have posted above. That should work. Good Luck.
I haven't watched MSNBC since his departure. I wish him well.
ReplyDeleteI read in entertainment Weekly magazine that Keith was talking with Aaron Sorkin and will be a guest star, recurring, in a new Sorkin show. The show is aobut a fictional cable news network, and Keith will do occasional on air rants. So, that's my guess and with his intelligence it seems pretty lame that he will do comedy TV.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Alaska WTF, I use a Mac, Safari is the browser I use, and I get AKWTF no problem. If it makes you feel any better, there's been nothing juicy since he got back. Just quirky stuff about AK in general. One post about how you can find hookers via Facebook, but not related to Toad, just referenced him as a joke..

Keith Olbermann, the acclaimed broadcaster and writer whose verbal pyrotechnics and moral passion have outraged, informed, and dazzled viewers of "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" for the past eight years, is bringing his slashing wit, analytical eye, and distinctive commentary to Current Media, the Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning TV and digital media company that was founded in 2005 by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt and is now distributed in more than 75 million households around the world.
