Keith Olbermann to return in some new manifestation? Update!

From Yahoo! News Senior Media Reporter Michael Calderone's Tweet:

Olbermann conf call Tues: he and “new partners will make an exciting announcement regarding the next chapte"
5 hours ago via we

What is it you ask?

Beats the hell out of me, and Olbermann is not being very forthcoming either:

OK it's true! I've signed with the Yankees. I'm competing with Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon for the 5th Starter's job
2 hours ago via Twittelator

Hmmm, well I guess we will find out sometime tomorrow.

But until then, anybody have any ideas?  Or suggestions?  Or humorous guesses?

Update: Could the New York Times have the inside track on this story?

Keith Olbermann, the former top-rated host of “Countdown” on the news channel MSNBC, will announce his next television home on Tuesday, and people familiar with his plans pointed Monday to a possible deal with the public affairs channel Current TV.

Neither Mr. Olbermann, his representatives, or executives from Current TV would comment on the move, but they did not deny that the channel, which counts former Vice President Al Gore as one of its founders, will become at least one partner in Mr. Olbermann’s future media plans.

One of the people with knowledge of the plans said Mr. Olbermann would have an equity stake in Current TV. The people insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized by their employers to comment in advance of the official announcement.

Well personally I am just happy to be chasing a rumor that does not have anything to do with "you-know-who."

This is what they've got on the other side. I'd love to hear Keith's take on this. I miss Keith's take on a lot of things, so I hope that whatever he does, he can speak freely and I can listen to him. In the meantime, this is why we will have four more glorious years of President Obama.

The Conservative Political Action Conference, aka CPAC, which is the annual conference of the American Conservative Union, is happening this week, and, as per usual, they're doing a straw poll to see who the leading contenders are for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Here are the 15 names on listed on CPAC's presidential straw poll: Michele Bachmann, Haley Barbour, Herman Cain, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and John Thune.

I would love Keith to create a blog. Don't get me wrong Gryph, I love visting you everyday. But we need more progressive blogs. Huffington Post has sold out long time ago. The merger with AOL has lead me to believe HP will become another corporate owned right wing piece of garbage.

I can't get through with any of my browsers, IE, Chrome, Firefox and yes, PC based. What's up? I see that he's posting new stuff, and I hear people say they have no problem getting to it, but I just get a 404 page error every time. I'm DYING to get into it!

I'd LOVE it if he started a news portal for the progressive left, of which there is little to be found that aggregates articles the way that Huffington Post does. That would be pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the HP has definitely taken a lean to the right and I'm getting so tired of Sarah Palin plastered over half the pages.

Link to NYT blog post about CurrentTV.

I'm not totally believing it in that in the blog post they mention TheOlbermannShow.com was registered 2 days before he left MSNBC.

That is incorrect as the name registered is TheKeithOlbermannShow.com was registered on Jan 19th - what's a correct fact or two between friends when the blog post is written by 2 writers - By BILL CARTER AND BRIAN STELTER

Quite frankly, I'm not impressed with KO anymore...he got paid a Massive package of money to leave MSNBC (who'm I really don't like much)

I think people are feeling sorry for this guy and all I can say is you SHOULDN't!

Now, if we are talking about Rachelle Maddow, let's pay attention to someone that actually care's about what she is talking about.

I'm not putting Olbermanns message down, but i am reconsidering his loyalty as to his message.

To those who are having trouble accessing alaskawtf. I have a Mac, and have no problem.

    Key in:

I find that on the address space it sometimes adds extra words like 'comment' all by itself. Then I have to erase the extra words and take the address back to what I have posted above. That should work. Good Luck.

I read in entertainment Weekly magazine that Keith was talking with Aaron Sorkin and will be a guest star, recurring, in a new Sorkin show. The show is aobut a fictional cable news network, and Keith will do occasional on air rants. So, that's my guess and with his intelligence it seems pretty lame that he will do comedy TV.

Regarding Alaska WTF, I use a Mac, Safari is the browser I use, and I get AKWTF no problem. If it makes you feel any better, there's been nothing juicy since he got back. Just quirky stuff about AK in general. One post about how you can find hookers via Facebook, but not related to Toad, just referenced him as a joke..
