Wisconsin proving to be almost as hostile toward Fox News reporters as Egypt.

By the way there is no "harassment of reporters" in Wisconsin.  There is only the outing of Fox news propagandists by the protesters who are tired of seeing themselves portrayed as thugs by a cable news station owned out right by the Republican party and their corporate masters.

Having said that I really don't condone that person striking the Fox news reporter.  I understand the desire, believe me I do, but it is still does not help their cause to give in to their emotional impulses and reinforce the Fox News meme that they are uncivilized antagonists.

(You can read more on this over at Mediaite.)

Where is the proof that the reporter was hit? Hit how? With a fist or did a sign bump into him? He didn't sound too distraught about it. The alleged hit didn't seem to knock him off stride even a little bit during his commentary. Where was the hatred about which he was speaking? All I heard was, "Fox News lies!!!" I can't argue with that. We have plenty of proof of that!

So, as this clip came to a close, the Fox anchor dude said that they would be talking about "the utter lack of civility" in this crowd when they came back from the break.

Gee, since FOX INVENTED "THE UTTER LACK OF CIVILITY", it's kinda nice to see them get it back in THEIR face today.

    Go, Unions! Go, Dems!

Joe Scarborough just said that telling people that they can't come together to negotiate seems unAmerican. Interesting as by his own admission, he is no friend of unions.

One of the guests on Morning Joe said that the unions have to do something about seniority. He said that a lot of teachers are being laid off because they are young and that's crazy. Really? So we should lay off the older, more experienced teachers instead?

Teachers have guaranteed due process from their unions, period. Tenure doesn't mean that a poor teacher can't be fired in the abscence of a felony. The reason we have poor teachers not being fired is that the administrators are not doing their jobs of evaluating and documenting the poor job performance of the lousy teacher. Good teachers don't like bad teachers any more than anyone else.

Of course, we know that it is not Obama at all; it is the Republicans who are polarizing. But they have crafted American discourse to favor their interpretation of the world.

Wasn't fox "news" singing the praises (and promoting on a continual basis) tea party protesters and saying that clearly their organization and motivation to protest in large numbers PROVES that the people need to be heard? Why are the Wisconsin protesters not given the same kid glove enthusiastic treatment? The protesters in Wisconsin are against the dictatorship of the Republican governor and that seems to be their only crime, thus the label of 'thugs' by the fox republican propaganda network. I guess no matter how large your group or how righteous your cause, if you are not protesting on the side of the republicans, you are an ENEMY of fox "news."

These are Christians who speak in tongues, dedicate states to God in an ode to holy wars, hold Machiavellian beliefs and implement Old Testament vindictiveness and vendettas. They cuss publicly without shame, name call, take animal life without regret or honor, and believe they are in the right no matter what the facts dictate. They are not mainstream Christians and the anger and rage that propels them is foreign to many who grew up in a mainstream Christian religion.

Oh for Christ's sake. "That guy just hit me, btw"

    Yeah right.

Gryphen, you really think someone "hit" him? I heard no scuffle, no fear in the "reporter's" voice. More likely somebody's sign bumped into him while he was saying all those hateful things about the protestors.

Poor pitiful Fox news reporter. All that hate, directed at YOU. Poor thing is surrounded---at a protest rally!! Imagine that.

    Fox Lies!!!

The police backed down and about 600 people stayed in the capital.

I live in WI, so I have been following all of this. And I am especially afraid for my son, who is disabled.

Here is a link about the bill. It goes well beyond union-busting. I wish more mainstream media would get this info out.

  11. Walker will be a one term governor because of the mess. That's if he isn't recalled early. But like another politician who couldn't serve a full term he'll have a job waiting for him on Faux News when he leaves, or is booted from office.

    O/T but still delicious!

Poor Todd, he tries and he tries, but can't win anymore...

It looks like Todd's luck has run out and his aspirations of being a winner are going the same way as his wife's...

  13. Someone must have spiked the Fox News reporters tea because there was no violence at the rally on Saturday or any other day. In fact, the protest marshalls were standing in front of the Fox News truck and the handful (and that's giving them credit) of pro-Walker counter-protesters and telling people to "move along, nothing to see and nothing worthwhile to hear."

There were many chants across the street from their truck "Fox News Lies, Fox News Lies." That probably ticked them off because they had no one to preach to because we all know they are a bunch of liars.

Fox News is lying that we were, or are being, violent. We are all being peaceful and civil, very cold at times, but peaceful nonetheless.

Thanks for outing them and their lies.

Very whiny baby-ish on the part of the reporter. Obviously he was merely bumped by a sign or someone putting their hand in front of the camera. Sure didn't hear that kind of whinging from the reporters in Eygpt who were attacked by pro-Mubarak supporters. Anderson Cooper was punched repeatedly on camera and he never cried about getting an owie. Fox inflated or deflates as the boss' agenda dictates. Utter lack of civility - watched Crazy Beck lately? Crosshairs Palin? Yup I know exactly where the utter lack of civility is to be found and it's not peaceful protests in Madison.

It's funny that Fox reporters say the protests are against all media, never acknowledging that the protesters are simply calling out that Fox is the voice of Walker and the Republican Party.

Even though FOX cut to a different camera, the camera shooting the FOX reporter is still recording. FOX could choose to show that footage which would prove or disprove whether or not the reporter was actually hit. My guess is that he was not hit and I also didn't hear any profanity in that clip. They make it up as they go along. Funny how the real networks aren't having these issues only the FOX Propaganda Channel.

When the Republicans rally the elderly to Health Care Town Halls to scream and shout, telling them Democrats are trying to take their Medicare, Fox calls it the "voice of the people".

When school teachers, firefighters and city workers rally to support collective bargaining, Fox calls it a "lack of civil discourse".

Firefighters played bagpipes. Sounds pretty civil to me.

I'm pretty sure I read that a leader of the Tea Party Nation ( or one of their organizations)called for their members to pretend to be a unruly (rude, etc.) striking union member tin order to portray the union members as thugs.

OFF-TOPIC: Palin numbers in Iowa looking pretty bad.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/28/palins-intensity-in-iowa-fading-says-poll/

"According to the just-released survey, Palin's favorability rating among likely GOP voters in Iowa now stands at 65 percent, down from 71 percent in November 2009 when the ex-governor was traveling the country to promote her campaign memoir, Going Rogue."

"And in another sign the intensity around Palin is fading in the Hawkeye State, support among GOP voters who say they view Palin "very favorably" has dropped 9 points, from 27 to 18 percent."

First of all, I have no problem believing that Fox lies. But this (assuming it really did have happen) could also be the work of the Governor who believes he's in the clear because he was taped rejecting the idea of paid goons. Or the goon could be paid for by Fox itself. Or the goon could be in the employ of the Koch brothers. The possibilities are endless. If I had been Madison, the goon would have been me. I am sick to death of Fox, the GOP, and other crooks and liars (not the website by that name).
Last election day,Fox was at my (and former Sen. Specter's) polling place early in the am. When I left, they wanted to interview me (7:15 am; they'll interview anyone, I guess). It took all of my will power not to say something nasty about Fox. Wish I had thought about simply saying, "Sorry, I can't trust Fox to accurately report what I say." Instead I just smiled politely and walked away. My parents did me a great disservice in teaching me to always be polite. Wish I had smiled disdainfully.

Oh, look, he hit me??!! But there was no camera on you, so we cannot look. It did not sound as if you were very upset, in fact, it was a very matter of fact comment. I do not believe it. Not quite the same scene as when Anderson Cooper actually was hit in a crowd. Besides, if the "agitation" was at a level that turned "violent", your camera would not have been off.

I didn't see the reporter hit by anyone...it is not documented...he verbalized someone hit him. I'm glad to see them going after FOX news - as to the rantings behind the announcer. It's about time.

Having been at the protests on 5 separate occasions already (including the two Saturdays with humongous crowds), I'll call shenaningans on the Faux Noise reporter. While it's been noisy (you'd love the percussion in the rotunda, or outside of the Office of the Governor), people have been and still are quite polite. "Fox News lies" is probably the harshest chant I've heard personally (once); "This is what democracy looks like" is a much more common chant. There have been a ton of "thank you's", both as chants and just when conversing with people (I've personally thanked practically every cop I came across -- many from all over the state), and "excuse me" when brushing past someone or someone brushes past me.

As another commenter noted, the camera was still running ... if the reporter had been hit, prove it. Put up or shut up, Fox News.
