Gee I wonder if Sarah Palin is a "Gleek?"

Because if she is not she has just missed one of the funniest portrayals of a Mama Grizzly inspired character yet.

Get a load of this:

Wow! Kathy Griffin making fun of a Palinesque character on Glee.  I think that might be my personal "big smile making" trifecta.

Let's not overlook: This airs on FOX.

  2. I watched it last night! Usually I don't see Glee unless my Mom tapes it and I watch it with her Saturday.

But I caught it last night. Fuuuuunnnnny. Kathie just nailed it.

    Red suit too.

I didn't notice if she was wearing a flag pin or not. Would it have been too much for her to have worn or hair up or wear glasses. Or both?

I can tell who Kathie was channeling for that spot on portrayal.

    Bill O'Reilly Is A Gleek?

OMG, I was catching up on my Hollywood tabloid news and I came across this shocking bit of information. It seems that "traditionalist" Bill O'Reilly was on the set of "Glee" during the filming of the "regionals." He even alluded to it on his show and added that the "Glee" "professionals" were "very nice." (I'm sure if Bill had behaved badly, Coach Sue would have handled him adroitly!) There's even a rumor that he will be playing a judge at the "competition." Others speculate that he might have a "cameo." Officially he was there with his 11 year old daughter. OMG, Bill is exposing her to evil Hollywood libruls?? He actually fraternized with Sarah Palin nemesis, Kathy Griffin, who will be in the episode, and shook Griffin's mom's hand. But has this paragon of the white, conservative, Christian, male power structure embraced a new, tolerant attitude? Has his brain been washed by the "far left." I ask this because last year he wasn't a happy camper when he said that "Glee" mocked conservatives. He provided three examples of librul irreverence ("cheap shots") directed towards right wing divas Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter. He wanted to know if the "Glee" writers are "left wing zealots" who are trying to "indoctrinate people." But now he's changed his tune. OMG, does he know that there are gay characters in "Glee?" But really, if you folks were to cast Bill in "Glee," what kind of role would you put him in? "Glee" is my favorite show and I really hope that they don't let Bill do any indoctrination!

O’Reilly said, “I consider my job to get answers from questions (sic). We told Sarah Palin we wanted specific entitlement cuts and specific strategies on entitlements, that’s what we want. Instead, the governor wanted to give a speech that she has given literally fifty times before. Now, when I cut her off, she got teed off at me. I understand that. If I were her, I probably would have been teed off as well. But my job is to get answers to specific questions. But I don’t know if the audience gets that or not. I think they think I’m an idiot.” He went on to ask Wallace if the audience has “any sympathy for you and me in what we’re trying to do here? ...I just wonder whether the American public gets teed off at the politicans who don’t answer the questions.”

Again, it’s one thing for a politician to go on television and try to spin questions. But it’s an entirely different matter for someone getting paid to provide expert insight and knowledge on a subject to duck a host’s questions. You don’t see Dana Perino or John Bolton or even potential presidential candidate Newt Gingrich doing that.

We’re with you on this one, Bill, and hope you’ll stick to your guns.

Suggestion - do a post specifically about commenting on your blog.
Outline the rules and content criteria. Most of us are happy to comply and want to participate in the discussion.
Tell us what you will and will not allow. There's no predicting what you are censoring. So the question becomes, why bother to compose responses?
Some formal direction from you would be very helpful. Thanks.

Yeah, Bill, most of your viewing audience don't think you're an idiot for cutting her off.
Let her be "teed". It IS about answering questions, with actual answers.

I learned by 5th grade that the teacher is going to cut you off and help you refocus when you start to ramble.

What an odd request Anonymous person. Don't you know what good taste and decent behavior is? Do you have to get the rules like some sort of kindergarden child? It seems to me, but with all due respect, it is obvious. If you post something that is not put on the comments, then draw your own conclusions about it's acceptability. I've never had a problem, perhaps your posts are just simply unacceptable to the blog owner and that is the right of the blog owner to filter them. Censor is a strong word, and it just reveals who you are.

Geez, Gryphen, what am I supposed to do now? I don't own a TV set nor do I intend to. That was fantastic! I didn't even mute the commercials (unheard of...no pun intended...or maybe it was), and how in the hell did it get on Fox?.) I think I just became a Gleek.

You know, old Bill O'Reilly used to do movie reviews in Dallas and stand in for Verne Lindquist. He was even kind of funny. Have no idea what happened to him except the lure of filthy lucre.

Aging reality-show diva Sarah Palin is finally suffering the fate of all talentless “famous for being famous” people: Her popularity is rapidly fading, and her days as an A-lister are forever in the past. This doesn’t mean she’ll ever have to actually work for a living — there will be infomercials for adult diapers, live appearances at regional strip-mall openings and other low-rent ways to bring in enough money to keep her far more comfortable than she deserves. But even Fox News is about to drop Palin from a lucrative on-air contract, as her nails-on-chalkboard voice and jabbering nonsense have never translated into ratings for the cable channel, and her unfavorable rating with Republican voters is now at an all-time high of 37%, worse than any other Republican talking about running for president in 2012. It only took two-and-a-half years of the most venal, vulgar behavior to chop Palin down to nobody size again, but now there’s at least the hope of seeing the Wasilla Grifter pushed off the national stage forever.

The resembles to Sarah was Kathy's curly curly hair, the glasses and the red jacket. However, hers was a parody of Right Wing Female Nut Jobs, including "I am not a witch" and asking for birth certificates. The fact that Kathy spoke intelligently and in real sentences means that it wasn't just Sarah. Sarah says stuff that doesn't make sense.

Ha! Love it, I am not a Gleek, but I am a huge Kathy Griffin fan. Kathy was spot on hitting all the right Palin and tea-tard memes...the birth certificate, the anti-gay, losing her election, the twittering, the faux homage to Earth Jesus.

Anyone who could not see the humor is ONE OF THEM...
BTW, I watched Kathy on Bravo's Watch What Happend Live show last night, and she was fantastic...the more the teatards and Palinbots go after, the more fuel you give her for her act, so have at it!

Last night on Comedy Central Donald Trump was roasted. There were quite a few Palin jokes:

there were jokes about Sarah Palin, too, like when Lampanelli alluded to McFarlane's creation of Stewie from "Family Guy."

"I love your work," she told McFarlane. "I especially like that weird baby you made with the enormous football shaped head. Oh, sorry, that was for my Sarah Palin roast."

One more at Palin and Fox News.

  24. Comedy Central Roast of Trump:

    Lisa Lampanelli
“Donald, you’ve ruined more models’ lives than bulimia. You’ve disappointed more women than Sex and the City 2. You are the ultimate proof that money buys good-looking p—-. If you were broke, you’d be f—ing me.”
“Donald is very happy with his lovely wife Insert Name Here.”
To the Roastmaster: “Seth, I love your work. I particularly love that weird baby you made with the enormous football-shaped head. Oh, sorry, that was for my Sarah Palin roast.”
To her fellow Roasters: “I’ve seen more stars on the Puerto Rican flag.”

    Whitney Cummings
“Larry King is proof that there’s not only life after retirement, there is life after death.”
“You have given more uneducated whores on-camera jobs than Fox News.”
Countless others that are completely unprintable on a family website.

  26. Thank you, Anonymous 9:51, for articulating the shared angst of many a reader. I suspect The Voynich Manuscript's origins will be divined before to the arbitrary nature of Gryphen's moderation methodology.

As for the particularly unhelpful critique proffered by the ironically christened Anonymous 10:20:

Don't you know what good taste and decent behavior is? Do you have to get the rules like some sort of kindergarden (sic) child?

I daresay most, if not all, of the communities on the Palin's Least Favorite Sites blogroll have, at one time or another, found themselves host to comments that did not meet Gryphen's exacting, if nebulous, standards. Said comments were–alternately–erudite, compassionate, demanding, informed, discerning, scrupulous and sincere. Sadly, it is not quite so obvious as you claim.

Perhaps a more apt use of time, not to mention a superior barometer for the future of one's comment, would be for Jesse to post a small, but visible calendar charting his menstrual cycle. Given how entwined their respective destinies are, I wouldn't be the least be surprised if he, Sarah and Becky Man Sour were synchronized.

  28. I don't usually watch Glee but my son does. Last night I walked in just when this part with Kathy was on. I liked Kathy's portrayal and love Loretta Divine (the nun) so I enjoyed it.

Later while channel surfing I caught the end of "Watch What's Happening Live" on Bravo. Kathy was on and apparently they discussed Palin.

They always do a text poll question at the beginning giving the results at the end. Last night's was "Who do you think is right, Sarah Palin or Kathy Griffin." Sarah won by a couple of points, 51 to 49 if I recall correctly.

Kathy and Andy both seem shocked. I was a little surprised as well since Bravo and most of it's shows are liberal and you'd assume mostly liberals watch.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Peebots helped her win. They probably had short notice so weren't able to run up the score as much though.

I wish I had seen the whole show. I'd love to know what Kathy had to say about Ms. P. as it had to be good.

Someone politely asks for guidelines. That gets posted.
A bunch of rude responses criticizing for asking, get posted. Gryphen, why bother to post those in the first place? You know it's gratuitous and adds nothing to the dialogue.
Several off-color comments, one with "f__ck" in it, gets posted.
A defense to the question about guidelines, also rude and critical of Gryphen, gets posted. WTF?

So why not post the response from 9:51? Is it personal?

As Anon11:56am wrote, I think Kathy did a great parody of "Right-Wing Nutjob Women in Politics", and was not SPECIFICALLY "Sarah Palin". (Bow to the mastery of Tina Fey!)

I observed she pulled elements from Christine O'Donnell, Michelle Bachmann, SP, and a dash of Sharron Angle. I thought the red suit, and "Twitter" referenced Palin, "witch" reference was O'Donnell, and brittle hysteria was Bachmann and Angle.

But you know Quitty will be thinking "They got my hair wrong!"

Kathy did a great job with this tiny part, and I'm glad the whole "birther" movement was subtly mocked, as it should be.

As for Gryphen's "standards" of what he posts or deletes - totally his call.

Sometimes I'm surprised that he doesn't hit the delete button more often. He puts a lot of work into this blog; why should he put up with ignorant bs?

  35. All the stuff where O'Reilly is now explaining himself is way to late. He, as a thinking individual, had the opportunity to call out this dimwit many months and years before now. Instead, he entertained her with her speaking post at Fox News. Now he's pissed because she's making him unpopular with the "base". Too late Bill O, many liberals respected you because you would "engage the enemy" on Jon Stewart; you would speak your mind and argue your case in an unfriendly environment. Why oh, why, did you not just step up and call this dumb bitch out in the very beginning of her "career"?

Oh, right, this post was about Glee, I watched it once last season but I work late on Tuesday nights so don't get to catch it. I can count the TV shows I watch weekly on one finger (30 Rock) so I guess it might be worth catching episodes on the internet. TV is something that get turned on in our household in the background of other things going on; cooking dinner, eating dinner and in and out of the house running dogs. I wish I had more time for TV, but since I don't thanks for posting some good stuff from the boob tube!

  36. I do have to ask the question. Does Disqus cost money for a blogger to use as a commenting platform? It would be nice for the commenters to interact relationally on specific comments. I would understand if it is financially taxing or if it is more difficult to moderate, to not employ it, but many of us have disqus accounts that we use and it seems to work well on other blogs. A lot of folks that present duplicate comments here under Anon names that I know for sure are Disqus accounts on other sites.

Just wondering why it isn't an option.

As to the way comments are logged here there is yet another way to look at it. I prefer the way IM's site's comments are set up because you never miss any new posts. When they are nested you have to read the whole thread again to pick up any new posts...instead of just starting at the time stamp you left off. The other way I miss way too many new posts.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been more blowback as a result of Blaine and Kurt's first kiss. I figured that would far outweigh any controversy about Kathy Griffin.

Big time Gleeks in this household. My only gripe with the episode was that the judges' scene should have been as long as it was for the last Regionals.
