Stephen King speaks his mind about Wisconsin's Scott Walker, Florida's Rick Scott, and the rest of the Teabaggers.
I love Stephen King and it just so happens that I am reading his book "Under the Dome" which is the first e-book I purchased for my Nook.
By the way, though I am only about a third of the way through it, this novel appears to be an allegorical tale of what happens when people use fear to control their constituents and foment mistrust of the Federal government.
Remind you of anybody?

Love Stephen King. I highly recommend his book "On Writing", it's largely autobiographical and really talks about what he's come from. It makes so much sense that he would feel this way. He talks about when the publisher bought Carrie, they were under hard times and their daughter had a terrible fever and how grateful they were when the check came in the mail so they could take her to the doctor.
ReplyDeleteI liked "Under the Dome" and it is pretty allegorical as far as what we are seeing nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad to see that King is standing up for the regular folks, makes me like him even more.
Do you have the Nook or the NookColor? My daughter has the Nook and I have the Color and we love them. I can't give up real books but ebooks have such promise. They are wonderful when traveling. I love the color because of the wi-fi.
ReplyDeleteThe GOP keeps complaining about class warfare. Well, they are waging class warefare and now the working class and middle class are awakening. Let's see how much the rich/GOP like it when their offensive strikes are matched, over and over. They are out numbered and they know it.

ReplyDeleteLoved SK in his speech on the video when he supports labor!
'Thinner' was my first encounter with Stephen King. I still remember the graphic descriptions to this day some 20 years later.
ReplyDeleteUnder the Dome is AWESOME! I got it in December of '09 from my husband. I couldn't put it down. I LOVE Mr. King...I would love to meet him!
ReplyDeleteIn a year, the nation went from blaming Wall Street and investment bankers for thier financial problems, to blaming school teachres and snow plow drivers.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened?
When I read "Under the Dome," I immediately thought that this was an allegory for how a fundamentalist theocracy could play out in this country. Chilling and well-written.
