Palin goes on crazed Twitter rant that even her fellow wingnuts cannot support.

Right before the big compromise between the Democrats and the Teabaggers Republicans last night, Sister Sarah was frantically tweeting her little digits off trying to stop any compromise from taking place. I imagine that she thought if the government shut down she could simply declare herself the "Queen of Everything" (Sorry Crissy.).  I know, UNBELIVEABLE isn't it?

So last night while the grownups were trying to save jobs, and keep services available for the American people, Snowdrift Snooki was  twittering this:

GOP: don't retreat! The country is going broke. We can't AFFORD cowboy poetry & subsidizing abortion.
17 hours ago via web

Followed immediately by this:

If we can't fight to defund this nonsense now when we have the chance, do you think we'll win the big fight on entitlement reform later on?
17 hours ago via web

She is like some maniacal version of Chicken Little, "The sky is falling!  the sky is falling! And DAMMIT, I want it to fall!  Bwa-ha-ha!"

Of course as we know Palin was denied again (Bwa-ha-ha! Sorry couldn't help it.), and the Democrats dutifully stopped struggling after the GOP finally agreed to put on a condom before screwing them over. (Now do you see why we need Planned Parenthood?)

After the agreement Sister Sarah's tweets fell silent. One can only imagine where she vented her rage when she realized that her social media approach to influencing the outcome had fallen on deaf ears.

Of course as angry as that realization might have made her, just think how she will feel once she realizes that she was virtually all on her own while tilting at that Planned Parenthood windmill?

Courtesy of ABC News:

Notably, some of Palin’s fellow possible 2012 presidential contenders appeared to be at odds with her Friday evening tweet, counseling GOP leaders on Capitol Hill that it’s time to cut a deal.

“I am ready for a big fight that will change the arc of history,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., wrote on Twitter this afternoon. “The current fight in Washington is not that fight.”

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee had this to say in an interview on Fox Business Network:

“Nobody’s more pro-life than me. Nobody. But as much as I want to see Planned Parenthood defunded, as much as I want to see N.P.R lose their funding, the reality is the president and the Senate are never going to go along with that. So win the deal you can win and live to fight another day.”

And then there was Newt:

"If they can't find some way to work their way through this, they have much bigger problems coming down the road,” Gingrich added.

Just how batshit crazy do you have to be, in order for your fellow batshit crazy cohorts to say they simply cannot support your batshit crazy point of view?  I am going to go out on a limb here and say, "pretty freaking batshit crazy!"

I believe it is safe to assume that this is why Palin has recently hit bottom in terms of her support among Republicans. It has nothing to do with how she is portrayed by the so-called "Lamestream" media, it is that there is a level of irresponsibility and insanity that the vast majority of Americans, even dyed in the wool Republican Americans, are simply not willing to go beyond.

You can almost imagine the Grizzled Mama running out into the night with her nightgown flapping behind her to lead a charge on Washington, only to look back and realize that she is standing all alone in the dark.

And hopefully some day soon "all alone in the dark" will be the only place that Sarah Palin will ever find herself standing. As always I am working on that right now.

The extreme right wing, the teabaggers, were really angry with the settlement. They did want to shut down the government, and damn the consequences. Sometime between 11 and midnight, the regular republicans must have been given a lecture by Newt about the consequences of a government shut down, and how they stand to lose everything in 2012 if they did it. Yes, even Bachmann and Huck sounded reasonable. They will live to fight another day. But this time, Sarah going Rogue was not a good thing. It reminds me of her epic fail following the Arizona shootings. Cross hairs, blood libel. Roger Ailes told her to shut up, but nobody, not even Sarah's media boss can tell her to be quiet. Sarah is always her own worst enemy. They can put her on Fox to sputter her words of hatred, and she will resonate about as soundly as Trump looking for Obama's birthplace in Kenya.

Toxic is the only word that describes Palin. America dodged a bullet in 2008. Had McCain/Palin been in charge, they would have shutdown the government without a thought to the suffering that untold millions of Americans would have had to endure, and they would have done it to defund PP and NPR. A bill was introduced in the Senate that would have paid the troops in the event of a government shutdown, and according to Think Progress, McCain voted against it.

    McCain and Palin are patriots?

    Patriots, my azzz.

Simple Sarah is always on the wrong side of an issue. We truly dodged a bullet when McCain-Palin lost, because she is as power-hungry as she is clueless. Just like the Tea Partiers, she doesn't believe in compromise because like them, she has no idea about governing. John Boehner has to be feeling boxed in right about now, because he is damned if he does the Tea Partiers' bidding and damned if he doesn't. I don't feel sympathy for the GOP, because that's a consequence of embracing wingnuttery. Palin is desperately trying to stay relevant, as she watches her approval ratings go down faster than a stone in quicksand. She obviously doesn't care about the dire consequences that would have ensued for many Americans with a government shudown. I look forward to the day when she is a significant footnote in American history.

I wrote a song yesterday called "Shut It Down (Teabagger Anthem)." One verse goes like this:

They follow Palin, she's on Twitter
saying "shut it down, shut it down."
    They don't mind that she's a quitter.
    Shut it down.
She's a regular gal just like you,
takes six shots to hit one caribou.
If she's the best they have to offer
    then shut it down.

    (Chorus)
Shut it down for the Teabaggers
    They're all a bunch of knuckle-draggers.
If you're just a total idiot,
    shut it down.

I thought it was an excellent sign when I saw stories last night quoting Huckabee and Bachmann on the shutdown, and no mention at all about Palin. She was squawking but for once no one was paying attention. Finally, somehow, the press has mysteriously decided that what she say is not important (realized she's not important, I should say).

    That has to burn.

It's amazing that the mother of a special needs baby ,
    a 10 yr old ,
    a teenager with boyfriend issues
and a wandering husband has so much free time to spend hysterically tweeting .
Palin's weird behavior is very manic.
The reports in Game Change of her episodes of near catatonic state combined with
her frenzied tweets indicate she may be manic depressive in addition to her NPD.
    Both conditions obviously untreated.
And not qualities one would desire in a president.
The more she is ignored and dismissed, the more agitated she becomes.
One thing I noted from watching SPA was Todd mentioning that on some days Palin feels the need
    to run twice a day.
As a runner myself, I thought this was
an indication of her trying to self medicate
    her out of control anxiety
    and agitation with endorphins.
Again, how a mother of all those kids finds so much free time is a puzzle...
Another thing I noted from reading the letter from her physician
    Dr Cathy Baldwin-Johnson in 2008.
Dr Johnson said that during Palin's last office visit ,
which we assume had to be some
    time in the preceding months
( if she was indeed postpartum , which I don't believe she was )
Palin's BP was excellent , but her heart rate was 77.
Runners usually have heart rates much lower than that.
It may be another indication of her constant state of agitation.
Or perhaps she is lying about being a runner.

She really is a nasty bitch. I'm worried though. Because it seems like the GOP are determined to get rid of Medicare, Medicaid and SS. These are the family values people YET they would throw every poor person, every disabled person and all of the elderly Onto the streets! They are getting rid of these programs so that the very rich can pocket more and corporations can continue to pay no taxes. It gives more business to CORPORATIONS. That is who Sarah and the GOP work for!! And any person who is on one of these programs buy still votes Republican is an idiot!!!
Getting rid of those programs is genocide. If you look into it a bit more and think about you will see I'm write.
Why do you think there are so many homeless people in the US. If you are over 40 do you remember seeing so many homeless people on cities? No! That is because Ronald Reagan, their God, closed government run mental institutions across the country. Many don't know this.
Look how the GOP treated all of these people who have very serious illnesses. The things they have done and want to do are crimes against humanity! It's despicable!! And when you know their real reason-- to protect and fund the very rich and corporations- it's even sicker! And it's even more hypocritical that these sociopaths talk about God and country!! Jesus would have been shocked and ashamed of the far right who don't care about the most vulnerable.

Get ready for a big fight everyone. We are fighting the GOP because we believe in Democracy, not plutocracy. We already are a Plutocracy according to Robert Reich! Every single Anerican who is not very wealthy, and no matter what party they are, better open their eyes wide and fight for the HEART of America!!

What kind of society do you want to live in. These dumb retards who support Sarah and these other greedy, self-serving politicians are stupid!

Sarah does not practice true Christianity. Her tweets and Facebook rants prove she is not a kind, humane person.
And either are her cohorts Bachman, Ryan, Cantor, Newt, Boehner, droopy McConnell, the tea party liars and the Koch Brothers

It's not okay to alter medical records with white out. A single line through and error with the healthcare providers initials is the only acceptable and probably legal way to alter a record. It is insane that the Teabaglicans want to continue giving tax cuts to wealthy corporations while gutting the above programs. They insist that tax cuts to the wealthy create jobs (which has proven to be a falsehood) and even if it was true, what kind of job could a sick old or young person who relies on medicaid, medicare and SS get?

This from the woman who didn't even want to talk about abortion when she ran for governor because the issue was "divisive?"

Here's what she told the Anchorage Daily News on September 9, 2006 when they asked her if she would try to ban abortions in Alaska as governor:

....So, on to Palin. In a cell phone conversation later in the day, she said the Knowles camp is looking to be divisive by raising the abortion issue. Her stance is clear, she said. “I’m going to respect the sensitivity and the privacy aspects of this issue and as governor, I will abide by the laws that have been interpreted by the Supreme Court.”
I asked, if the opportunity arose as governor for her to ban abortion, would she?
Her response: “Theoretical, hypothetical questions that have to do with a subject like this, that are being led by a campaign in order to divide, it’s unfortunate. That’s my final comment on it.”

Sarah Palin is the consummate agitator.

She didn’t have to concern herself with the rising national debt. She was focused on the rise in her personal bank accounts. Her tweets were not words of encouragement, or suggestions for compromise, but instead her comments were divisive and sure to agitate anyone who might read them. She used words like “nonsense”, “big fight” “don’t retreat” “Commander in Chief’s Appalling Action with Our Troops” “Insurgents won’t stop and wait for govt shutdown to end before resuming actions” “Obama’s petulant obstruction,” and “Presidential nonsense.” When her thumbs grew tired from the ” tumultuous times” she “retreated” to her bed for rest and a good night’s sleep. At a time when we needed a cheerleader to support and encourage our lawmakers to do the “right” thing for the country, she was acting as an agitator.

As I was watching the vote last night, it dawned on me that Sarah Palin as president would never be able to keep up with a crazy busy week working all hours, being the workhorses like Congressmen/women and the President have to be. They have to be tenacious and do a lot of the grunt work. Can one imagine President Palin being that dedicated?

She couldn't hire a presidential "manager" to replace her while she flipped through bride magazines sipping on Bailey's. What in the world would she do?

She's shameless. Ranting on about the economy and at the same time being the mother of daughter who rakes in several hundreds of thousands of dollars for making a few ads preaching about what not to do like she did.

This and the fact that Sarah Palin who has become an overnight celebrity accepts disproportionate amounts of salary VERSUS the average american who makes $12/hour standing on their legs all day. And she can't see how shameful she sounds dissing those lawmakers trying to fight to save the a battered economy that rewards the rich?

  71. 10:04 - I too loved the imagery of Palin running toward Washington, with her nightgown flapping in the breeze, only to look back to see she's alone.

Reminds me of the scene in "Old School" where Will Ferrell is drunk and decides to streak. He runs off alone, then encounters his wife driving with her friends in the car. He says, "We're STREAKING!" His wife checks the rear view mirror for all the others he thinks are following him, but there's no one there, of course.

This will be even funnier than that, Sarah. Run like the wind...no one is following you anymore! You are an uber epic failure!

Ratfish, that was a great piece from when she ran for governor. It's amazing how she's degraded from a republican pegged as a bit more moderate than the rest, at the time, into someone of the mold of Phyllis Shaffly and Dr. Laura, and a darling of the religious right.

And I stand by my original assumption that she was being groomed for something bigger. But I think that McCain screwed that up. McCain was too unlikeable and too moderate to please the frothing right wing. So they brought out Palin prematurely, before she even finished her governorship or got her foreign affairs cred. Palin got ripped to shreds, so she went back to Alaska, quit government, and hit the money trail with the followers she gleaned off of McCain's campaign. I think for a short time she was on her own, but not for long. She quickly got on board with the GOP, told the teabaggers to "pick a side" as she herself did. She's been on the payroll ever since, in my opinion.

And now, it's clearer than ever what her role was/is. She throws the raw meat. She takes the radical (and semi-violent) angle, while others appear reasonable and moderate by comparison. Did you ever see a day, for example, when Bachmann would seem moderate? This is the usefulness of a Sarah Palin.

But I say f*ck her. F*ck Sarah Palin. I have been more than fair with her, and I am tired of it. She has the nerve to say PP is "nonsense" and calls out for stripping ss and medicare so that when the day comes and I need it, I'll get a big slap in the face instead of a check? I'll be eating tuna fish out of a can, while she dines on lobster and prime rib? F*ck her and the horse she road in on. I am done with this bitch.

Bachmann says there's an epic battle coming...well, I say bring it on. Bring. It. On.

Look people, I know we are all sick of the democratic party, but that is the only vehicle we have to stop this fascism. We have to support the party. We need to be active. And with Debbie at the DNC helm, I think we'll see an improvement on how they handle the local races.

Pray for Virginians - 2 tornadoes hit Virginia - no deaths - see above link for Channel 7 News.

We are in a state of emergency, my electricity restored after 23 hours. We are very lucky here where I live, about 5 miles away it was hell last night. Over 400 structures damaged or completely destroyed.

It will take time and money for things to return to normal. Draper, Va. and Pulaski, Virginia may never be the same again.

@3:16, she's talking about something that 99% of the people in this country probably know nothing about. Harry Reid, when arguing against defunding arts programs, cited a "Cowboy poetry" festival that would no longer exist if the cuts were made. Was actually a silly thing for him to say, but nobody but people like Palin glommed onto it. Not that I think she knew. I'm sure RAM fed her the line. Asshats.

Thank you Fl Dem for your comment.
    I agree totally.

The Dems have their heart in the right place and we can accomplish a great deal together.
Debbie is a good choice as chairperson of the party.
Keep in mind what the right wing does every time they get a little power. We can't let them get in now. Sticking together is paramount and giving the perception we're not, makes us all weak. Women in particular must stick together because, as you know, there is a war on women still going on.
The GOP put pa$lin and bachmann out there to get attention, but they are not a good example of women in politics. They make women look bad. Who can take these types seriously and in the end, they have hurt the progress of women everywhere.
    Thanks for your posts Gryphen,
with men like you there is hope for the progress of women. Most of the gop hate women and can't even mention a uterus without having a fit. These neanderthals are so afraid of the power of women, they keep talking about regulating our bodies! What the hell?
OK, now where are the women who will stand up and take over?
Real women, not the sarah phony kind. Real women help other women and children and men.
First we need reform in the media and that's going to happen.
I watched chairman of FCC in a meeting with tons of young new journalists and interested citizens, of which I was one, talk about the need for reform. Meeting was in Boston on Friday and this gave me some hope! Hope is so needed after all the damage to our country from the right wing.

And her rants illustrate the clear difference between President Barack Obama and Half-Term Governor Sarah Palin. No matter how frustrating things got, Obama didn't give up in a snit. He told Congress to just keep going back to the table. The man simply has incredible poise and levelheadedness, and I say that as someone who has not been happy with some of his decisions. But I am always impressed with his maturity, of which there is a sad poverty of in Washington. He is a shining example in that regard. Palin, as always, is the last role model anyone should emulate. Spiteful with a toddler's capacity for patience.

The first stanza of Rudyard Kipling's famous poem "If" comes to mind when once again, we see Obama rises head and shoulders above the unglued rightwingers, including some crazy lady who likes to Twitter a lot.

"If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies..."
