Sarah Palin is so in denial that Barack Obama is currently our President that she thanks George W. Bush for bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice. Update!

From KWGN Denver:

Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke at a military appreciation rally in Lakewood Monday evening.

Palin took the stage and thanked the members of the crowd for their service.

“Freedom is not free but a god given right” said Palin. “I thank you for being part of the solution.”

She then addressed the death of Osama bin Laden, who was killed by US forces.

“One of the evil leaders of the Islamic extremists..has met justice at the hands of America’s finest.” She said. “We thank our president, we thank President Bush.”

You know just because you refuse to acknowledge it, does NOT mean Obama is not our President.

He IS the President, he DID orchestrate the death of Osama Bin Laden, and he did it after George Bush FAILED to do that very thing for over seven years!

Palin also mentioned that America’s war on terror is still not over.

“Those who would kill in the name of religion must be sought,” added Palin.

Might I suggest that you start by looking in the mirror you hypocritical moron.

By the way Sarah, our President has a special message for you and your fellow Republican Presidential hopefuls.

And by the way, just so you know, if YOU are the GOP candidate in 2012, your party is going to need a hell of a lot more than just luck.  Believe it.

Update: For those who are still arguing that Palin WAS magnanimous toward President Obama, perhaps you missed this little gem form her speech, which comes to us courtesy of Politico:

“It is the veteran, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of press,” she said, going on to offer her only semblance of a shot at Obama. “It is the veteran, not the community organizer, who has given us the right to organize.”

No the facts are that this know nothing half term governor/reality show celebrity demonstrated a complete lack of patriotism by going on the attack against her President when the entire country is celebrating our victory against a madman.

The other Republicans, including Dick Cheney and George Bush, were able to recognize Obama's achievement, and to give him praise. But Palin is completely unwilling to recognize ANYTHING positive coming from this administration.

She is, as she always has been, a spiteful little bitch who cannot get over being beaten by this black man, and therefore compelled to attack him at every opportunity.

But this tactic of hers is simply pushing her deeper into the shadows of irrelevancy.

The small crowd didn’t even completely fill the bleachers. And though the event was ostensibly a celebration of the troops, it felt more like a B-list conservative gathering – replete with booths for little-recognized social conservative groups, iconic imagery of Ronald Reagan, and of course dozens of copies of Palin’s two books. One of the small university’s music instructors had prepared an original trumpet composition to commemorate Palin’s visit. And the National Anthem was sung by what could have been a barbershop quartet were it not for the odd variances in octave.

The other painfully noticeable aspect of the crowd was the advanced age of the attendees, especially given that Palin was speaking on a college campus.

This is the ultimate reward for the likes of Sarah Palin.

Soon only a handful of curiosity seekers will bother to show up to one of her appearances. And then only to make snarky remarks, and to point and laugh at the angry little old woman who once imagined herself to be a Queen.

The article you quoted used the word "and" between her two statement. That would mean that she thanked TWO people, not just one: "Yesterday was a testament to the military's dedication in relentlessly hunting down an enemy through many years of war, and we thank our President and we thank President Bush for having made the right calls to set up this victory," she said to the crowd.

Surely the members listening to this bile had to think she is unstable? It was a shock she did not invoke Saint Ronnie into this. By her memories, then she must still be mayor of Wasilla?

    Gryphen,

Please post the video from 2002, six months after 9/11, when President Bush said he didn't know where bin Laden was, didn't care, and didn't think about him. Everyone seems to have forgotten about that. Bush deserves no credit. In the video, George looked like a nervous imbecile, rocking back and forth. What an arrogant prick he was, the only kind of leaders the Republicans can produce.

This is just the ramblings of a mean-mouth sore loser with a giant sense of entitlement.

Come to think of it in these grim times common folk like me need circuses. Maybe a Palin-Trump ticket. She would have to sleep with one eye open.

I read this quote from her lat night and I was just stunned. She and the rest of the GOP cannot believe that their entire 2012 platform has been demolished by a man, a black man no less, who is not only smarter than they are (I doubt their combined IQ equals his!) but has more courage, more humanity, and is a better Christian than any of them. He also understands that patience is a virtue. That other religions matter. That people matter more than money. You have my vote, sir! And Sarah, maybe you could go back to school. You don't seem to be able to think clearly. You can't speak, and you don't write very well. Maybe Piper's 5th grade would take you. Also, too, how about a parenting class? The only things you are good at, shrieking and lying, will soon cease to be making you $100,000 for 15 minutes. Very soon. Plan ahead.

Palin is toast, she finished behind Ron Paul in the Townhall.com poll.

She's so marginalized now that RAM has to beg blogs to cover her word salad bloviation

Even my Dad, who's voted Repub for 60 years, can't stand her. He said he'll just stay home rather than vote for Palin. Romney is as far right as he'll go.

Palin, if you are reading this post, can you just give Obama credit for sticking his neck out and authorizing a very risky OP in Pakistan, and pulling it off?

No, of course you can't, you are a craven creature of christian callousness

The woman is a shameless, sociopath to the core. That's painfully obvious to anyone who can walk and chew gum at the same time.

The problem is, as the Queen of the Tealiban, she has made it her life's mission to NEVER say a kind word about Obama. Remember way back to 2008 when she thrust her poor, pregnant daughter into the spotlight to deflect from her own questionable pregnancy? Obama came out and very kindly said to the press (I'm paraphrasing) 'This topic off limits. (Bristol's teen pregnancy) My own mother was a teen mom and family issues have no place in the political arena.' Did The Witch from Wasilla thank Obama for his kind words? (Which he didn't even have to say in the first place?) Hell to the no. She went all pittbull on him and said sarcastically that the press bows down to him as "he who should be obeyed." She couldn't even say something halfway nice when he came to her fucking defense! (Sorry, if that's impolite, but she totally exasperates me!)

She's has been on a two year mission of hate since then. She will NEVER give the President (Obama not Bush!) credit where it is do. It's simply not in her DNA. And she's not alone in her right wing fantasy world. I unfortunately know rightwingers who are giving credit to Bush, Reagan, the military, Gitmo, torture, etc. ANYTHING or ANYONE other than Obama.

They are a delusional group of like minded lock steppers.

Maybe, just maybe, Mrs. Ringo (as in oops, where did my ring go?) Palin is mad because jokes were told about her at the correspondents' dinner without mentioning her name, therefore she can't name the standing Potus. Bawahh, bawahh.

Then again, she is not that smart. If she was, she wouldn't have gone to five schools to supposedly get a BA.

Now, as the rest of us advance, I say to Paylin.. What? more noise from the peanut gallery/back seat driver?

That must have been her own contribution to the speech. It shows.

Second, I don't believe she is thanking "our president," Barack Obama, at all. Her reference to "our president" is also to Bush. When you read that sentence carefully and in the context of her hatred, jealousy, and resentment, it is clear.

Consciously done or not, it was poor form to say Bush's name and not Obama's, particularly considering the circumstances.

I am sure she is just seething with bitterness that President Obama and his administration accomplished something that Bush's did not (imo, they didn't want to accomplish it; too many cozy ties to high ranking Saudis and too important to have a bogeyman out there to justify their wars for profit).

The GOP simply aren't going to be able to claim, or insinuate, that the Dems can't handle national security issues like they can. I mean they will probably try to avoid the topic altogether, because what can they say after this?

When Sarah will finally figure out that no one really cares what she has to say about anything, well, I have no idea!

Now Palin may have started off trying to thank Obama. But since she cannot bring herself to say his name in a positive manner, she quickly rushed through her remarks, putting the emphases on her thanks to George Bush.

Which certainly makes it sound as if he is the ONLY President she is thanking, when in fact he deserves virtually no thanks for this achievement.

They diverted resources and attention away from Afghanistan and onto a Bush family vendetta/oil control war, rather than go after Osama bin Laden in any meaningful way.

Right on, 5:31 am. Bush was not the least interested in catching Osama bin Laden after about 9/13. His focus was 100% on Iraq and oil. 9/11 provided the cover. His bizarre remarks in 2002 about not being very interested in bin Laden should have been pursued by our "liberal" media but no one ever brought it up. And if, in fact, Osama bin Laden had been living in that location since 2005 or 2006, then Bush had two years or more to take him and failed to do so.

This weekend's events in Pakistan were accomplished by the Obama administration and only by the Obama administration. It took talent, skill, precision and intelligence to pull the attack off.

Sarah Palin must be foaming at the mouth right now. First she was not invited to the beautiful royal wedding and Piper was not a bridesmaid, then she was deliberately ignored at the White House Correspondents' dinner, then she really messed up at the parties she attended, and then the news broke about the attack on Osama bin Laden's compound. All you have to do is see his face and Clinton's in the War Room as they watch the attack in real time. This is hard stuff. It is behavior Palin has never witnessed in her life, either in those around her or because she doesn't read, can't empathize, nor has the imagination to understand what being the President might mean. Pathologically delusional she is, and thank god, she's moving farther and farther from a public life into a nether zone of b-list celebrity irrelevance.

Or perhaps we should go less farther back and call her the Mayor of Tinytown who left her city in debt? Or maybe we could call her the ex Governor who quit on her state to grift money from the teabagger crowd. How does ex reality star sound?
    Or fox news blow hard?

What exactly qualifies HER to be in the White House? Is it her engaging wink? Her sharp tongue? Or her tight skirt? Maybe McCain didn't let the viagra wear off before vetting her for VP, but anyone who lives in the real world sees her for exactly who she is.

With all due respect, Sarah Palin wasn't beaten by a black man, she was not a candidate - she didn't earn her candidacy, she was picked from obscurity to shore up the religious right vote for the conservative ticket. A running mate does not earn their place on the ticket, they are favored by the one the electorate picked.

But she sure did help that candidate lose in a most spectacular fashion. Remember your tears at your candidate's concession Sarah? You couldn't believe that you weren't so blessed to have God allow you to pass through that door to ruin millions, even billions of peoples lives as our nation's second in command?

She doesn't have the courage to run, she can't even field questions. You can't run for any office of the land from Fox News and Facebook.

Sarah Palin is the type of Ugly American that takes everything she exploits and abuses in life for granted - enrobed in the comfort of rights earned by feminists, unions, civil and disability advocates, it goes on and on what she dismisses as unimportant to an incurious philistine like her.

And to continue to take credit for being the only American politico to honor and respect our troops - well, she's never had to provide for them has she? She has never been a commander in chief - even with the spin that she was for Alaska's National Guard. Pathetic reach.

Sarah Palin, you aren't good enough to even BE a community organizer - you are simply a divider. Useless and horrible for American discourse.

There is no comparison between Desert Storm and killing Bin Laden. He did what no one did, he got the bad guy. This will be something people will remember for a very long time, and yes, this will help Obama on to a second term.

Oh, and Obama got Osama. (Bush didn't)

  66. anon@6:08am, there was no "and" in the phrase in which sarah thanked the president. the quote from the news story is wrong - watch the video instead, you can clearly hear that she didn't say "and". i often find that reporters try to correct sarah's bad grammar for her, but do they skew her meaning in doing so? it is very unclear in saying "we thank our president, we thank president bush," what exactly sarah meant. why would she not mention potus by name if she meant pres. barack obama? was it deliberately unclear, a deliberate slight on obama, or was it just bad grammar? the other evidence that g offers, that she attacked the prez with the trite community organizer jab, doesn't paint a very gracious picture of sarah that night. the remarks were prepared, so they were written that way deliberately - and most likely by becky since full sentences were generally used - and therefore a slight on the potus. it just brings sarah palin down further, not the potus. she is self-destructive and seemingly becoming more so.

President Obama himself could of jumped out of a Blackhawk helicopter on the back of a majestic stallion and rode into Bin Laden's compound and single handedly take Bin Laden down and people like Sarah Palin would never give him credit. People like Sarah would give praise to GW Bush and Ronnie Reagan. Why? Because people like Sarah wants to see Obama’s birth certificate, people like Sarah wants to see Obama’s grades in college, people like Sarah are true racists just can't handle it.

Let's not smear the memory or reputations of some of the greatest artists of the 20th Century who appeared on the "Chitlin Circuit" in this country during the 30's, 40's, 50's, even into the early to mid 60's. These included artists such as, James Brown, B.B. King, The Drifters, Etta James, Brook Benton, Dinah Washington, The Dells, Otis Redding, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, Solomon Burke, Little Willie John, Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke...I could go on and on. No way could "Princess Dumbass" or anyone in her family ever compare to the quality and legacy of these great showpeople. Please know our history as a nation, and DON'T EVER compare the Palin Klan to anyone who performed under harsh conditions and still gave this country one of the greatest shows on earth, that we still are most grateful to have witnessed. PLEASE JUST DON'T DO IT! Thank you very much.

"Returning to America, Jennifer takes up with nightclub singer Tony Polar. Believing his childish behavior is caused by his overprotective half-sister/manager Miriam, Jennifer eventually persuades Tony to elope, then goes to Hollywood with him as he pursues his career. Shortly thereafter, she becomes pregnant. Upon finding Tony's been unfaithful she decides to leave, but keep the child. Miriam finally explains that Tony has a congenital brain condition that causes seizures and mild mental retardation and will culminate in total insanity. She warns Jennifer that the child is likely to inherit the sickness. Jennifer decides to have an abortion."

To me, that quick acknowledgment with the gesture, not mentioning Obama by name, and then giving props to Bush was absolutely meant to diminish President Obama's achievement in eliminating OBL.

Perhaps she should refresh her memory and read the quote from Bush where he stated that he didn't know or care where OBL was and how it wasn't a priority.

    Two things:
I grew up and am currently living in Colorado Springs. Some people from my conservative high school attended CCU. I looked into an adjunct teaching position there, and they have pretty strict standards--eg you have to prove how involved you are in your church, which for me, a non-churchgoer, made this a non-option. So CCU should be SP's target crowd. The fact that the sparse audience consisted mostly of old people is extremely telling.

My conservative relatives ("Fox News is liberal!") believe Bush spent seven years setting up bin Laden's capture and Obama doesn't deserve any credit. He was not the one engaged in a firefight in the compound. Besides, he has so many Muslim ties he probably could find bin Laden much more easily than Bush could. I told them they ought to watch the Rush Limbaugh video from yesterday--from the transcript I read, he actually raved about Obama--because "Rush" is the only media person they unquestioningly believe.

When I read the account of GW's dismissive words about Bin Laden that he uttered on Wednesday, March 13, 2002, it becomes obvious that he deserves no credit although President Obama is gracious enough to share the limelight.

Mrs. Palin is not only burning with anger and disbelief that she and McCain were on the losing team in 2008. She is also full of anger and hatred toward a president whom she and others have been foolish enough to underestimate at every turn. Her derisive remarks about his having once been a community organizer are patronizing and completely ignorant. Community organizers have their figurative hands on the pulse of their communities, correctly assessing community needs. That is participating in politics at the grassroots level, and his experience in that capacity served as a springboard for later political endeavors. She sounds exactly like she did when she spoke at the Republican Convention on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, where she made fun of community organizers. Her sorry excuse for a speech was instrumental in people contributing about $10 million to the Obama campaign that very night.
