Republicans learn that only a chump would trust the Trump!

"I cannot believe how easy it is to fool these people!"
 From CBS News:

Donald Trump ended his months-long public flirtation with a 2012 presidential run Monday, saying that he will not seek the Republican nomination -- even though he could have won the election.

"After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency," Trump said in a statement. "This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector."

Trump made the announcement as NBC, the television network that runs his reality show, announced its fall lineup of shows. Prior to the announcement, NBC said it would bring back the show, "The Celebrity Apprentice," with a different host if Trump ran.

I believe that more than any other potential candidate, with the possible exception of Sarah Palin, Donald Trump helped to identify just how incredible desperate the Republicans have become to find SOMEBODY who could take on Obama in 2012.

The Donald could NOT have been a less likely choice for the Teabaggers to have rallied around, and yet his poll numbers among that group grew every single week.  Especially so long as he challenged the President's place of birth and patriotism.

Once the President released his long form birth certificate, the good ship "Crappy Hairdo"  found itself run aground with no hope of ever sailing the open seas of political relevance again.

So yesterday we saw Mike Huckabee hold up the white flag, and today we see the Donald do the same.

I happened to listen to a little Right Wing radio today on my way back from the gym, and the conservatives are apoplectic over the loss of these two potential candidates. Essentially the only people in the GOP who seem to be thrilled at the news are the Sarah Palin supporters. (Warning link takes you to the Sea O'Pee. Have your Dramamine and barf bags ready before clicking.)

I can only imagine how devastated the Teabaggers will be once Sarah Palin finally tires of stringing them along and finally tells them she is not running/dropping out of the race.

Somebody mentioned the possibility of mass suicides on one of the previous threads to the news that Palin is not running, and I actually do think there is some danger of that.  If Palin were not such a selfish bitch she would let these pathetic people off the hook now before they have committed any more time and energy supporting her fake campaign.  But of course that is asking her to be a compassionate human being, and that is simply not something that she can pull off.

  1. Or, let them know Before they send her their hard earned dollars.

I know it is their choice, but I think is really unethical for her to string them along..
I still say if she does it, it will be as a third party and late so she doesn't have to do many interviews or debates.
Still want to see her and newt debate.
Would he be kind, or would he demolish her?

"Mass suicides if Palin does not run for president"?!
Please tell me this is a sarcastic statement. Of course, by then Quitter WGE will have their money, so she will not care.

When Saree's fans finally figure it out I wonder how many families on limited budgets will feel completely screwed by her and the lies and snark. Then again, how many people keep spending their fixed income at casino's? I suppose there are still enough crazies out there who have some vision of her that defies reality. Frankly, I'd rather they get completely screwed over by her instead of contributing to someone who might actually have a message and solutions

  4. I honestly believe that Trump was truly going to run for President. I think he thought it would be a cakewalk. I think he was surprised at his treatment by the media and that he wasn't beloved of the people.

I think after his eyes were opened he basically thought "I don't have to take this shit. It isn't worth it." and then went back to his renewed TV show.

Yeah. People think being teacher is easy too. I've got some fifth graders I'd love them to spend a week with.

Sarah will run because that's how she's wired. Her eyes are straight ahead on the prize, not on the world around her. In her mind, she's already lookin' good seated in her redecorated Oval Office, figurin' out how to exact retribution on everyone who done her wrong, and tryin' to undo Roe v Wade. Of course, there's no question that Sarah will lose spectacularly and further alienate her family; but, reality isn't a consideration in her actions.

Read Dunn's book "The Lies of Sarah Palin" to find out how much the ends justify the means for the Deluded One. She's a sick, sick puppy.

  6. Trump has seen the writing on the wall and knows he can't win; Huck is in love with money and needs his fox gig, his paid speeches and radio show to live the life of luxury. Huck has to pay for that almost 3 million dollar home on the beach in Florida. Huck couldn't make enough money being prez or VP to pay his bills now.

No mass suicides - well maybe a few. If Palin does not announce a run in 2012 her flying monkeys will make up new "promising" stories for a Palin take-over in 2016. They will take the news as bonafide absolute proof of something ridiculously delusional like, "Sarah's just waiting for the right time to save America. I trust her judgement better than I trust Jesus. Sarah's smarter than all of us put together so it's part of her divine plan which we shouldn't question. By then Sarah will have twice as much experience than Obama"....you get the picture ad nauseum.

Who knows? Sarah may run every 4 years just to keep her nut club happy and sending her money. It will be glorious for them - just like Bill Murray in Groundhog day where he lives the same day over and over again.

Huckabee and Trump could afford not to pretend to run because of their tv income.

The grifter, still part time at Fox, depends on speaking engagements- it's now actually 'peak season' for her- so we should expect her to delay any announcement until the very bitter end of her sixteen minutes of fame and fortune.

I don't think the half term governor could run as a third party candidate. She does not have the ability to organize a staff, she would not be able to raise significant money, and she is too cheap to spend her own money.

Blow-hard Trump never intended to follow through with a presidential run. Why?

Well, for starters, he'd have to file "a financial disclosure statement with the Federal Election Commission that would have revealed to the world whether he was really worth the many billions of dollars he has repeatedly claimed."

Then there's the "...unfavorable court decision in Florida last Friday in which a federal magistrate ordered him to turn over a series of business licensing arrangements for his hotel and office building projects that he has long fought to keep confidential, according to court documents reviewed by NBC News."

But, "...the lawsuit in Tampa is hardly the only one in which Trump is embroiled. A recent report by the Center for Public Integrity found that Trump is a party in about 100 federal lawsuits and that five of his major companies have been embroiled in more than 200 civil suits in federal courts.

Some of these allege fraud on Trump's part..."

Read about this shameless bloviator-cheater here:
    http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/43051689/ns/politics-decision_2012/

What's pathetic is, as big as a joke as the Trumpster is, he's eminently qualified compared to $P!

Sarah's mad. People keep on reminding her of trivialities that she keeps on forgetting about... like quitting Alaska, blood libel, her tease-to-grift routine, her countless lies, her cowardly one-way communication, her political endorsements that were fiascos, her disapproval ratings, and her superficial knowledge of issues. Why?! Why can't everyone let this minor stuff be forgotten?

Our Sarah has visions of a higher calling. Instead of spending time reliving these non-issues, Sarah wants people to do something productive like donate their hard-earned money to SarahPAC. Or help her maintain a list of haters. Or steal gay-friendly books from Wasilla's library. Or run to Taco Bell to get her a Crunchwrap Supreme. Or buy her ghost-written books. Or take care of her kids.

Sarah thinks the country's going in the wrong direction and I think she has proven it. The whole Palin family is one big fake reality show complete with professional grifting.

SarahPalinUSA: WTH? Aren't you sick of the DC nonsense & screwed up priorities? Check this out: These politicians already "plunged us" w/debt. Now they...

Sarah Palin is SOOO incredibly ingnorant. Notice that if you only read the second twitter (the one at the top) she makes it sound like she actually is wanting the debt to increase.

Andrew Sullivan linked to AKM's response to Joshua Green and the site is very busy at the moment.

"The real question he’s asking is – What could Palin have achieved if she had a different personality, if she were not a political opportunist and had actual integrity, if she were qualified, if she knew her stuff, if she were an effective leader, if she knew how to manage people, if she were intellectually curious, if she didn’t quit? The question Green asks is really what Sarah Palin might have achieved if she hadn’t been Sarah Palin. And it’s why “What went wrong?” is a false question. “What went wrong” was Palin being who she is – consistently and predictably opportunistic."

Oh come on, did anyone really THINK he was serious about running? You think that man had a shot in hell? Even republican heavyweights have no chance in this election what makes anyone think a clown like Trump did? He obviously just wanted the publicity. I never believed Palin was running, either.

I'm sure every news reporter in America had a good laugh over Trump, yet they go on tv with a serious face and talk about his candidacy as if it was real and not a complete farce. This is the problem with news in this country. The problem isn't people like Trump and Palin, it's the media.

Just to show how stupid some Americans can be, I read this morning in "Express," which is published by the Washington Post
that a CNN/Opinion Research survey taken earlier this month indicated that at least 57% liked his fight-for-fight's-sake style. That's one of the things that Palinbots like about Palin herself, and none of them seem to take into account that unless one is fighting for a positive cause he or she ends up looking like a fool. For all Trump's self-congratulary crowing, the president had already shown his birth certificate before showing the long form. In addition, the reaming Trump got from both President Obama and Seth Meyers took the winds out of that windbag's sails. Once that happened, Trump had absolutely nothing else he could fall back on.
In addition, he and Palin are both thin-skinned wimps who can dish it out but can't take it--which makes for lousy presidential candidates not to mention lousy presidents.
