Did Sarah just redo her exit from the Hyatt Hotel in order to cover for Piper's rude behavior?
Fast forward to around 1:52 to see a happy, friendly Piper Palin exit through the doors of the Hyatt Hotel after visiting the Statue of Liberty, and happily interact with the reporters waiting to greet her mother.

Sorry, I have a feeling one tape was of their morning exit from their hotel, the other from after their visit to Ellis Island. I could be wrong, but I think that's why there are the differences. I think the same goofy reporters are showing up everywhere they go. Everyone is trying to make nice with each other now. Perfect.

ReplyDeleteI Think it was two different places, but I wonder about the flowers and the whole change in attitude of Piper. The whole thing seems weird though. One minute Piper is sulking and the other she's happy. Someone must have gotten a clue to pay attention to Piper. She lit up like a Christmas Tree when the reporter wanted her reaction to the Statute of Liberty. Maybe her drugs kicked in by the time they left Ellis Island.

What's really sad is the way that Piper is dragged along with Sarah and doesn't seem to be enjoying a bit of it. Yesterday, when Piper body checked the reporter, people commented that it was rude, bad manners. No, it was child endangerment. Sarah has no business putting that kid in a crowd of reporters who are elbowing each other trying to thrust a microphone and a question forward, and trying to get a photo. Piper could have been knocked over. I know, then Sarah would blame the reporters. It's always their fault.

Sarah is so intent on selling her image and message that there is no need for Piper to be there, and Piper clearly shows it. Her sullen face shows that she would rather be any where else, instead of listening to another one of her mother's speeches. Poor kid.
I see, Sarah is carrying the same flowers in each tape so it seems like it's the same moment - is she swiping them out of lobby flower arrangements or something?!? She is watching Piper like a hawk the second time (with Chuck looming nearby this time). She had probably read the riot act to her, insisting she be friendlier to the 4 or 5 fool reporters who keep following them around.
ReplyDeleteBut it is clear that the possible "redo" was after their visit to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, based on the questions the reporters ask of Piper. That's why her hair is up, it's later in the day. I could just see Sarah saying something like, "Piper, you are going to go out there and be cordial to those reporters hanging around the door, and say you're sorry this time - and give them some flowers yourself!" None of which happened, she was just better behaved so that was that; apparently Sarah was satisfied.
But I don't think you can claim an attempt at re-staging or anything like that.
This is kind of awkward, Gryphen. You will probably have to take this post down, or else put a big retraction up. We don't want to give her any satisfaction, though, do we? Honest mistake by an overzealous commenter....

ReplyDeletefar as I can tell, the first video was AFTER they went to the statute & ellis island, because it was the cleaned up one of Piper talking to the reporters, they were asking her what she thought about her visit to those places. Piper also looked mightily pissed off in the SUV while sarah was talking to reporters through the window of the SUV.

I think it is a do over. The only place that there is a happy Piper being interviewed is at c4p. Notice in the happy Piper tape there is one camera "cnn" and the other video with sarah running over to the reporters there are several mics and they seem to be local stations. If it was at two different times why would they only have cnn there and no one else?

So some nice person at another time on the same day gave sarah the exact same two flowers? I don't think so. No, the happy Piper vid has sarah carrying her own bag just like a rill american and pipers hair is up. it was staged. I don't think it was even a real reporter.
i think it's the same place and same people and i was inclined to think it was at the hotel -- leaving the first time and coming back the 2nd time. but that does not explain why sarah is carrying flowers in both videos. if she gave them away in the morning how would she still have them after they got back? and they definitely would not look fresh anymore. this is very puzzling. i agree that any press would have commented on this do-over, if that is what it was.

I think Sarah's handlers reviewed the first video while the Palin's were at Ellis Island and saw the need to redo it. They didn't think anyone would notice. Who knows, maybe the "reporters" in the video both times were plants.

What caught my attention even more was the obvious change in her description of the Statue's history and how it came to be in America. This morning, it was from foreign countries warning us. (?) She made a point to give the right answer near the end of the clip. She has been watching and reading about her gaffs all day!

In one video, she has a purse on her right shoulder but not in the second one. In the first video, the CNN mic is thrust toward her, but in the second, there is no CNN mic visible. Her father is visible in the background of one video and not the other. At least one of these videos is obviously staged. In both videos, Piper has a bottle in her hand. It is a do-over.

I will say this though, the second video comes to us from Right Scoop, which is an uber Right Wing news site, while the first video was taken by My Fox reporters just standing outside the hotel.
If this was staged, which is exactly what it looks like, then I have little doubt that Right Scoop would have no problem going along with it.
By the way I have saved both videos just in case they mysteriously disappear.
Gryphen, all you have to do is listen carefully to what is said. Two different times, no intent to "redo" with the reporters, except in the sense that Sarah was trying yet again to have Piper behave politely. (And they make her go overboard, poor kid.)
ReplyDeleteSarah confuses everyone with the damn flowers. I didn't see her try to give them to Piper and have her hand them out. Perhaps she lamely thought she'd try to get Piper to do that the second time, but she certainly didn't make any moves in that regard, and just kept them in her own hands.
In one she says something about getting the ferry and maybe she'll see her new best friends in the media over there. In the other they are asking Piper how she liked Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
If you are insisting on keeping these up because stupid Sarah has those flowers in her hands again, it's a bit of a stretch. SARAH might have hoped to have Piper redo an attempt at an apology, but it didn't happen.
No conspiracy, moving on.
PS I am telling you, Sarah is taking flowers from some hotel lobby floral arrangement!
PSS Even if Sarah hoped there would be close tape of a similar interaction, and the networks would run with the more flattering one of her daughter, that would also be quite the cooperation between Sarah and the media and not believable. Fox, CNN, etc - there are reporters from a number of networks on this horrible assignment.

Scarlet Oregon...I noticed the same thing about that iview in the vehicle. Her eyes were fixed on something other than the person who was talking to her and they seemed glassy. She responded almost as though she had just taken a sleeping pill...no energy at all. Just very odd.

What I'm seeing is a family dynamic at play here and I feel sad for Piper. She needs a mom. A real life mother who meets her at the door after school, helps her with her homework, goes to K-Mart and buys poster board and glue and markers with her, then help her with a school project, make cookies, and just "be" there for the little girl. She needs a mother that she can lean on when she has a bad day. Talk her heart out.

Whether this was a "re-do" or not, I see a miserable little kid being drug around by her mother doing things that she'd rather not be doing. My summer vacations were spent at the club at the pool, or on lengthy stays at the shore, doing things like learning how to surf, or boogie board, play mini golf, going to every amusement park on the east coast, or just lying in the sun at the beach with your friends.

Our young years are for getting good grades but also for enjoying lots of entertainment without the burden of work. It seems that Piper has a job, with her mother and that is so sad. Jobs happen after college but she's only 10 or 11 and being subjected to adult type engagement when she really should be at Busch Gardens riding a roller coaster.
One would think that Palin would schedule some "fun times" with the kid to alleviate the burden of constantly being on a media interactive bus tour. But no, Palin wouldn't do that and Piper will have a strange outcome because of it.
For me there are too many networks involved for this to be some sort of agreed-upon restaging of something.

I do not believe she got their consent or had a plan, or requested that they all go and run the more flattering tape now. She may hope they do, however.

He seems to be following a script not asking questions. And with Sarah looming in the background looking on anxiously at the interaction just doesn't seem genuine. Also Sarah mentions that the statue is a gift from France as if she just learned it and is over compensating. You can always tell when Sarah learns a new word or fact, she acts so proud of herself. The reporter probably got there late or early and specifically asked if he could get Piper on camera. You can tell it was staged; Piper is smiling, which she never does, and seemed to be waiting for reporter to ask her a question while Palin stayed in the background, nodding and mouthing the words, "good question." Totally staged. Nice, especially when you claim to hate the lamestream media and are not seeking publicity.

Let's take a look at how Sarah handles family problems. Track may have been involved in some vandalism, and he goes to play hockey in Michigan before going into the army. Willow was the ringleader of a group of teens vandalizing an empty house, and only the boys got punished. Bristol had a baby while she was an unwed teen in high school, and Sarah turned her into a publicity machine for bad abstinence speeches, bad dancing, and lame acting.

Sarah is clearly responding to all of the criticism she got for the video of bratty Piper backing into and pushing the reporter.
Sarah (and the rest of you Palins), stop covering up for bad behavior. You aren't doing your kids any favors. From the looks of Piper, she is unhappy and doesn't want to be stuck in a crowd of reporters shouting questions at her mother.

Talk about staged videos, what about this picture, why is it that the Palins and Heaths are the only ones with their hands on their hearts? IIRC, the Ellis Island tour is a stop on the Statue of Liberty cruise. So it would make no sense to do them separately. ANd look at Chuckles' wrist. See the green band - Sally has one too in a Daily Mail shot. Again, IIRC, that's from teh tour - so it appears to be after the tour.
ReplyDeleteThis was a redo, but it was later in the day, with the same backdrop, probably right after they returned on the ferry. This way, they can try to cover over the other vid in the same news cycle and they'll ask local and nat'l Fox to substitute them and/or just bury the first one with Piper all steamed up. This used to occur fairly often when TV actually used tape, and something happened to a lead-in or part of an interview. Just kinda faking it. Not a huge deal since we already saw it and noticed it; just an attempt to clean up a child's bad behavior. I've seen this done years ago when a baby threw up on a mom and reporter when they were doing tape.
ReplyDeleteI hope Piper had a little more fun today... Sarah was obviously upset and had been crying right before FIOS1 "reporter" stuck his mic in the SUV.
The interview inside the SUV was with FIOS1, basically a hyper-local Verizon channel for Long Island. They have a viewership of about 7, that is, when the Palins got back to their hotel room. Until then, nobody watches that shit and you can buy birthday ads and cheap ads and stuff like that. It's some of those crappy stations with no viewership that they throw in when u buy cable packages to dress it up a little. Very little overhead, hardly any programming and none that requires more than one camera person and maybe one holding a mic. Maybe just 1 doing both, but you get the idea. It's not like a real TV network affiliate, it's just there to look like it. That same guy puts his mic in Trump's face, and the Don will ask him WTF are you, clown? He wouldn't want to be seen dead talkin to them. Sarah just doesn't know any better.
Was anyone else there but the "CNN mic"? I don't think so, prob just doing a favor for the Palins. CNN might have had an intern following her around town. CNN is devolving to a suck-up a al Fox just so they can keep up their numbers, if not their self-respect or profes-sionalism.

ReplyDeleteI found it interesting watching Palin be interviewed while sitting in the back seat of the SUV with the 'brat' along side her frowning at the interviewer intensely.
Palin actually moves a couple of times appearing as though to block the camera man from being able to include Piper in the shoot. And, then all of a sudden, the 'brat' is no longer sitting in the SUV next to her mother. The tape was obviously spliced!
Gryphen, do be sure and keep these tapes. All of us in Alaska know how proof has to be maintained in just about everything Palin does so as to have proof sources.
Sure as hell is good we have video and tapes these days. Palin will be brought down politically. There is much more derogatory information coming out about her soon which will include emails from the State of Alaska that were done prior to her becoming the 'quitter' gov and while serving as the 'worst gov Alaska ever had'. Three new books about her are also nearing publication. publication.
I hope everyone has purchased G. Dunn's book (recently published) entitled 'The Lies of Sarah Palin'. It is very well written and researched. I urge folks who don't really know much about her, but are interested, to purchase the book.
Remember, John McCain's group didn't initially vet her well prior to naming her the VP candidate.
You all need to know that Palin IS NOT the woman she tries to project herself to be.

Sarah apologizing was a prearranged soundbite as were the flowers a prearranged visual. I am sure what was not prearrange is Piper would tell her mother to F.U. walking away. So when this video slammed Palin during her Liberty tour she came back with a redo.
Gryphen can testify in first person having seen Palin when she is asked a question about responsibility she gets real irrational real quick. Here though you see her smiling just having handy a speech and flowers for Piper to apologize. Palin says, "Piper's gonna give her little flower to somebody." Not a Palin MO. If this were real and she were asked a question, Sarah would have been blaming the media for taunting poor Piper.
Another point is the position of those reporters, too close to the entrance to be random. Second no one rushed the Palin's. Third they were QUIET. No one shouting questions or rushing her. That is not in anyway how the scene has gone so far. Any one who can get close enough shout questions and you can hear the cameras going off.
What do you think Piper was promised she did not get for smiling in the second video cause later in the SUV she starts getting upset telling her mom & grandma to roll up the windows. Epic Bribe Failure.

ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing. She started this trip looking fresh as a daisy. I think she was aware that we had been commenting on her haggard looks lately and had started on a regiment of sleeping pills to get her rest. By Day 4 of the trip (in what sounds to be a long one) she is already not holding up.
I know that Sarah and her family love the money that Sarah PAC throws at her but she doesn't like that something like this trip is expected in return. I think that is is becoming clear very quickly that Sarah's rogue (read: self-run, chinsy and lazy) campaign-that-she-pretended-wasn't is a failure.
So, in first video, Sarah stands back there while Piper is being asked "Did you like the Statue of Liberty" and "What did you like about Ellis Island" and Sarah is standing back there mouthing "Great questions".......really? GREAT questions? Simply superb questions? Why would she be saying that....it does tend to go with the "restaging" theory, in that perhaps Sarah told the reporters to please ask Piper some Piper-type questions that were soooo easy that even Piper might be able to answer them...kinda sorta.

I agree with comments about childhood and needs of children. I want to give attention to the fact that fathers are parents and children need both parents to provide their innate and developmental needs. If one parent is negligent and the second parent goes along with it both are culpable

The setting is the same, the people are the same, the flowers are the same. The only difference is Sara and her kid. In the first the kid has the same hairdo as she does when Sara's being interviewed in the car. Then they show up at the apology site. The second the kid has a different hairdo. That means either it's a do over OR that Sara wanted to apologize twice. Funny how we never get to see who she hands the flowers to in either "take", maybe that was one of her handlers and there are no reporters there, save the interesting CNN mike. Could it be that they managed to cage a mike from the CNN drone who accompanies them. There's one other problem I have, comments regarding her telling reporters she'll see them at Ellis Island? If she wants this to just be a family vacation then why is she telling reporters where she's going? I'm guessing Sara is watching the blogs and trying to reshape her image after each mistake. The Star of David, here and then gone. The foolish remarks about the Statute of Liberty followed by a correction in the next scene. She's learning on the run and it's making her look even more foolish

ReplyDeleteThe fact that the Palins rarely if at all ever left AK or bothered to take their children to see historical sights even with trips to NYC funded by the state of AK and McCain campaign shall be irrelevant. Footage shall serve proof she is the patriot and the black guy is anti in fact a terrorist.
I think she is going to blondside contenders. What she gives lip service to, plausible explanations (educational tour, family vacation) is the opposed of what she is actually thinking, planning and doing. She is amassing her ammunition reloading as she says. She can call it "unconventional" I call it calculated, underhanded, shrewd, dishonest. I think she will jump in at the last minute to circumvent scrutiny, debates, and use Fox etc to destroy people then swoop in like a vulture.
It was different exits but clearly it was also an attempt at a "redo". How often does one exit a hotel with flowers that look as they came straight out of the hotel lobby flower arrangement? Although I suppose now Sarah will always exit hotels with flowers at hand to cover up?
ReplyDeleteNo one is saying it was done back to back. What people suggest is they did the first one, then after seeing and hearing how badly it looked, they got people back together and reshot it. That's a do-over no matter how much time there is between them because the flowers are there for the apology in both cases.
ReplyDeleteIhere I live what Piper did, which many are calling "body blocking," is called by the legal name "assault" and it is actionable. Todd Palin did it to a woman in Homer, Alaska on camera.
ReplyDeleteAssault is higher on the scale of aggression than, say, name-calling. Piper's behavior needs to be addressed now. Bullies are emboldened if no one opposes their behavior since they perceive gentleness and kindness as weakness. Piper is in danger because of her family's maladaptive patterns as others have amply pointed out.
Well, looks like Bristol Palin or one of the paid P-bots has been posting away here, lots of comments one right after the other just singing praises for Sarah & Piper. I just love that they read here all the time.

If these two videos are at different times of day, before and after the trip to Ellis Island for example, why on earth do they have exactly the same two flowers? Those flowers would have been like limp dish rags in a short bit of time sitting out water yesterday when it was 90 degrees and humid here. And they are the same two varieties of flowers. And the Jewish Star kills me, she put it on at some point for some reason.

I'm wondering about Willow though. It could be this rebellion is because she's seen through her Mom and doesn't want to be her. Bristol may have gone to the dark side after a lot of waffling and Piper is totally lost, but I'm wondering if after Willow turns 18 she might escape. I'm not saying she won't still have some growing up to do. But if she leaves Alaska and her Mom, she might meet a nice man and he might teach her some manners. Like not posting vile epithets on blogs. He might actually stop her from bullying and turn her into a lady.

It's not that Piper doesn't like the press, it's just that it's not all about her and she want to be the center of attention. Did you see those horrible humongous sunglasses she had on and how she always flipping her hair. She thinks she a little diva. I also remember in 2008 when she flipped someone off at the age of what, seven? This one is going to be the biggest problem of all the Palin kids. Wow, what a brat!

ReplyDeleteThe posts saying these are the same two flowers - doubt it but remember -- walking through any lobby of a hotel has vases upon vases of flowers that can easily have 2 aqt a time removed.
ReplyDeleteMost people like us, the hotel staff would jump on but Palin - they would not chance bad publicity and let her remove them without a peep.
So it would be easy for Palin to just step into the lobby and take 2 more flowers to play her faux video game -- call it bait and switch of the Piper video of a pissed off kid to that of a set up of getting a reporter to ask questions of Piper.
Not a do-over, just the same people at the same place.
ReplyDeleteIn the earlier video, the flowers are different (white and pink vs greenish and pink in the later version), and $P says they are going to Ellis Island.
In the newer one, they HAVE BEEN at Ellis Island, and they are going to the Faux Noise studios and then up to Boston.
They must have been raiding the flower arrangements in that hotel, LOL!
So, after this debacle on the East Coast, we on the West Coast will also, too, be 'enriched' and 'honored' by her Excellency's presence. OY VEY!

The woman is truly insane! She thinks walking through a historic site and reading the brochure at the gift shop makes her knowledgeable enough to educate America on it's historic sites. What made her think we needed her to do this for us. She is truly insane!
ReplyDeleteWow, I usually refuse to watch her videos, watched this one with the sound off. Sarah looks so different from her campaigning days. IMO, she looks like a drag queen.
ReplyDeleteThe way she dresses reflects personal insecurity, and pretty much zilch panache. Some people have it, Sarah doesn't. I have to admit I am relieved we don't have to be exposed to her upper arms.....their size absolutely freaks me out. On a normal sized body they are really crazy large.
It looked really staged when the voice of one reporter (most likely a plant) asked a softball question of Piper. Look at that tape really closely again. It looks like Piper was expecting it. She is looking at the pool of reporters waiting to be asked the question. And the poor kid, even though she probably knew it was coming, can't even muster up an interesting answer to the second question. She has to be led by the reporter, and then it's over.
ReplyDeleteIf you notice you'll see that both Sarah and Chuckie are watching the proceedings very carefully. It's a do-over to "prove" that Piper CAN sometimes act normal. But, boy, was she under duress.

There's something about Sarah's eyes remind me of Cher for some reason. Maybe because of having eye-lifts?

Whadya expect. Of course she can do a do over. Reality is what Palin says it is. Her life is a reality show. She thinks she is smart enough to run for office, she writes her own letters from supporters and she thinks her family and children are normal.

I assure everyone, the flowers appearing in the videos are the same varieties of flowers. Maybe they are not the exact same stems in the two videos but they are the same varieties. For what this is worth.......
