Palin writes that the first time she met the 26-year-old daughter of Sen. John McCain, she "ignored us during the entire visit." This was just before Senator McCain introduced Sarah Palin as his running mate. Palin adds that she "had a sneaking suspicion I might need to watch my back."
"Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining," she writes. "Oh the complaining."
Cindy McCain, the senator's wife, also rubbed the eldest Palin daughter the wrong way.
"I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," Palin writes, adding that the would-be first lady looked "like a queen" and held "herself like royalty."
Palin writes that she was shocked when the senator's wife offered to be a godmother to her unborn baby: "I had just met her and I wondered why she wanted any type of guardianship over my child."
Palin also shares not-so-fond memories of her 2010 stint on "Dancing With the Stars," where she and her professional partner, Mark Ballas, finished in third place.
"I noticed some of the contestants rolled their eyes when they realized we'd survived to dance another day," she writes, adding that some of the contenders voted off "literally would not speak to us or acknowledge our presence."
Holy crap! This is another mean girl diatribe about ALL of the people the Palin family feel did them wrong.
I think that Bristol/Sarah is making a BIG mistake in going after Meghan McCain however, That girl can write and does NOT turn the other cheek when she feels she has been wronged.
I look forward to McCain's scathing response to these comments.
As for the cast of DWTS, come on guys you have a huge scandal to break about Bristol Palin. Just contact the National Enquirer and unburden yourselves! Do it for you country.

And honestly, I find it weird for a woman who just met a pregnant girl to offer services of god parentage. I will reserve judgment until I read it for myself. Bristol's a blunt person who doesn't bs. Why would anyone read this? Who could possibly care about the whining of a cultural non-entity? She has accomplished nothing of substance in any area of human endeavor. Weird. Bristol knows firsthand that political operatives have no qualms about lying just to advance their careers, which is why I'm glad Sarah called them out with GR. There was always tension between the Palins and the McCains. Meghan alluded to this. She admitted to whining and not being in the spotlight. I doubt she'll address this. So far the book excerpts are tame and refreshingly honest.

Oh, this will be great! Sarah Palin for VP. Does Bristol even know what a "godmother" does? I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. In my experience being raised as a Catholic child, godparents serve to spiritually mentor a child, not to serve as guardian on the occasion that you pass away. But I wouldn't expect any Palin family member to know a damn thing about spirituality, this I know for sure!
ReplyDeleteAs far as DWTS goes, everyone knew that Bristol stayed to the final three not on the basis of her dancing, but on the voting of her mother's supporters. The professional judges had to accommodate themselves to this obvious unfairness, and no doubt the eliminated contestants felt it was unfair.

Wow. Just wow. This definitely speaks to the level of entitlement that Bristol has. And also to the level of basic decency that she seems to lack. I thought Sarah was the only one in the family with that level of pathology. I used to feel sorry for Bristol (and all Sarah's children) because of the fact that she's at a distinct disadvantage simply because of the crazy mother. Not so much now.

I think this is SPs way of getting back at the McCain's without doing it directly herself, which as we all know is her MO. She'll let her daughter take the heat for her own trouble with them. Til now Meghan has had kid gloves on when it came to the Palins. Probably because she was trying to protect what was left of her father's reputation. I flipped through the channels on Sunday, and checked TLC, and they were showing SPA. I watched it for a couple minutes while they were rafting, and although I was sickened by her voice/whoops, I continued watching. Then she harping on smores and dessert and Michelle Obama. So I turned the channel/ Good god, fool! Get over it! You lost to a black man! Let it go!

But for god's sake, were was her agent or publisher or someone with the maturity to help her understand that these kind of attacks will only backfire. Sure there are tell-all books all the time, but to publish one at the beginning of her career--whatever that career is--when it can only come back and bite her, is stupidity. It's not going to get her anywhere for long -- maybe she'll make some money, maybe she'll win some support among the crazies, but the people of substance who might have helped her will only be put off.
This is the kind of lashing out I might have engaged in before I got some sense and experience in the world. In two years or five years, or maybe it will be 10, 20, or 30 years, she'll regret this kind of pettiness. Where is the voice of reason who could have pointed that out to her?

2. Cindy was born to money, and to her credit, she did charitable work, and knew how to dress beautifully. Sarah still doesn't know what class is if it bit her in the butt. She only performs charity when the cameras are rolling, and there is no question that Sarah would love to have as much money as Cindy does.
3.McCain has been around long enough to know that you don't talk about your fellow Repubicans, Reagan's 11th commandment. When George W.Bush skunked McCain during the 2000 primaries, McCain, to his credit, acted like a good GOP soldier. Bristol doesn't do her mother any political favors by insulting the McCains.
4. What in the world are people supposed to do when their VP nominee shows up with a knocked up daughter? And, judging from Bristol's limited speaking ability, what was Meghan, age 26, going to talk to 16 year old Bristol about? So, like, to you guys go skiing or what?
5. I don't care for Meghan or Cindy, too artificial for my taste. And John fell off the Straight Talk Express when he sold out and selected Sarah. But Bristol is 'way over her head in this one (I hear Sarah in the background because this is her style, too). There are no political points to be made by insulting the McCains.
6. It seems as if Bristol's book is designed to unload on everyone: Levi, the McCains, and probably anyone who borrowed a lipstick and didn't give it back, or someone who said that Bristol looked fat. They'll be in the book too.

Mrs Palin, who has been extolling the virtues of Joe the Plumber in these times of economic crisis, has had tens of thousands of dollars lavished on her by the committee, including a shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue in St Louis, Missouri ($49,425), and Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis ($75,062).
After her surprise choice as Mr McCain’s running-mate at the end of August, Mrs Palin has been provided with an average of $37,500 a week for clothes, make-up, hair styling, accessories, and even baby kit for her six-month-old son Trig. Such a weekly outlay is more than the average annual salary for a plumber.
The Republicans spent $4,716 on hair and make-up during September, more even than the $400 haircuts that so embarrassed John Edwards, the former Democratic presidential candidate, this year. @Bill, I was wondering the same thing. I don't drink a lot, and I'm a small person (about 5'2", 115-120), so to me especially, that story seems unlikely. The low alcohol content in wine coolers, along with the sweetness of most of them (they're usually fruity or similarly flavored), I would think the sugar and amount of liquid would make you sick long before you'd have a high enough BAC to forget what happened- unless you wanted to (so you can pretend it didn't happen, and you're still a virgin).

Judge Judy is often asked to decide a case involving a guy who is accused of abusing his girl friend. Yet, the girl friend stays in the relationship, continues to live and sleep with the guy, even lends him money. Judge Judy has no sympathy for such a gal. If what Levi had done was truly date rape (as Sarah is always accusing everyone else of trying to rape her daughters) why weren't the police called? I forgot, Bristol would have had to pay for her own rape kit. It's a lame story, just like the book that she is going to peddle. Actually, it puts Sarah in a terrible light as a parent. If Sarah can't take care of her own family (she once took Bristol's phone away when she thought that Bristol was pregnant in May 2007), then Sarah can't take care of all of the Americans in a great big Exceptional American Family.

Classy Approach: I am extremely grateful to the McCain family for their support and belief in my mom and our family. Senator McCain saw something special in my mother, and I am deeply grateful for everything they did for my family. It was an honor to know them.

I think that the reason Levi doesn't speak up about any of this, including the gnat comment, is because he has too much class. Truly. I think he is maturing beyond all of this nonsense. there were just two girls in Alaska trying to make sense of their f'ed up families and lives just like the rest of us.
So, I fear that Bristol knows some seriously ugly sh!t about the Johnstons. So, while Mercede and Levi and Sherry may know all the gory details about the Palins, they won't be able to tell.
Why not get it off their chests for $$, or for the babies, or for the good of the country?
My theory is: the Johnstons aren't speaking b/c what the Palins have on them could result in Criminal Charges being brought against someone in the Johnston family.
This is the only explanation I can come up with.
I don't think Money alone would be enough to keep Levi, Mercede and Sherry away from a baby that is supposedly part of their family.
But the threat of harm coming to someone in their family - or even exposing the Victim as the result - would prove to be a much more persuasive argument against speaking up.
Anyone else agree?
I realize Bristol has to strike while the iron is not, grift-wise, but it is so sad what kind of life she's setting herself up for. She's young, she should GO TO COLLEGE, build a life OUT OF THE PUBLIC EYE for the sake of her son, and find someone to share her life with. Well, she's shooting herself in the foot...her poor son will have to look back all all this garbage someday, and no one worth anything will touch her with a ten foot pole. Why take a chance at getting involved in her messy life? Why risk getting slammed in a future book. No, she's created a shallow, hollow life and will have to live it for the next 50 years. So sad.
