Courtesy of Alaska Dispatch:
One of the things that fumbled Barney's chances for bail was something for which he isn't even charged, dating back to events that took place late one night last November outside a Fairbanks television studio. Cox had a scheduled appearance at the building and felt he needed security, with Barney in charge. The detail involved about a half dozen, armed militia members patrolling the block, blocking access and turning citizens away. Some of the guards, including Barney, who also had with him an anti-personnel riot control device – a burst of rubber bullets that could be deployed via a grenade launcher, stood watch along the perimeter in the shadows. The judge found the operation, which Barney spoke about on the stand, troubling.
"The defandant's activities in regard to a 'security detail' for co-defendant Francis Schaeffer Cox indicated a very substantial danger to the safety of other persons and the community and, in particular, a willingness to use assaultive behavior illegally to prevent the lawful arrest of another," Judge Bryan wrote.
Well THAT is certainly good news. I know that there were some people who were pretty worried about Barney getting out.
By the way it certainly did not help to have Coleman Barney take the stand in his own defense.
Barney admitted that -- like many Americans involved in the tea party movement -- he's worried about the direction of the country. But Barney said he advocated change through nonviolence. He said he believed that change could be achieved through education, through holding law enforcement accountable to the Alaska and U.S. constitutions, and through the legislative process.
"Everything I have been pushing for has been of peaceful means," he said.
He helped set up the Second Amendment Task Force, aimed at protecting gun rights, and the Liberty Bell Network, designed to provide citizens a witness network to unlawful search and seizure. And the efforts, he said, have already paid off, citing a new state law (A.S. 44.99.500) that legalizes silencers and other weapons.
If such items are made in Alaska, they are none of the federal government's business, Barney said.
When it came to alleged murder plots and anti-government loyalties, the Feds, Barney would have the court believe, simply got it wrong.
But on cross examination, prosecutor Steven Skrocki was able to get Barney to admit that he was, in fact, a command major in Cox's Alaska Peacemakers Militia. And Barney also said that, if necessary, he was also prepared to kill, though he said only as last resort.
Just to bring you up to speed the individuals that Coleman was admitting he was prepared to kill were Federal agents which the incredibly paranoid Schaeffer Cox had convinced himself, and his friends, were out to kill him.
I think this should serve as a wake up call for those who are still laboring under the assumption that the Teabaggers are not potentially dangerous, or not associated with any violent extremists.
By the way I have been hearing some rather interesting tidbits of information from my sources that there are far more connections between Sarah Palin, Joe Miller, and Schaeffer Cox than have previously been brought to light. I am attempting to make headway on that story right now, and will keep you all updated once I get something really good.
Who ever assumed the Tea baggers weren't violent extremists?
ReplyDeleteJohn McCain ought to be charged with treason for allowing sarah palin on the 2008 republican ticket.
ReplyDeleteI read this stuff about her ties to this group on blogs, yours and others.
John mcCain and his team did not take the time to research her.
If she does run, he should, for the sake of this country and for his soul speak up about his experiences with her.
Palin, Miller, Cox, this should be very good.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting article on Christian terrorists:
ReplyDeletehttp://news.yahoo.com/christian-terrorist-norway-case-strikes-debate-181559379.html
We really ought to not ignore this as people like Miller, Palin and Barney have many faces and, as is discussed in this article, it is darn hard to see one's own intolerances.
One thing I know about our biggest state in the Union is that we are actually a very small community. And like every close knit community, it has it cliques and groups. And we all know each other, and eventually we all hear about what everybody is doing.
ReplyDeleteYou bet your buttons that the likes Barney, Miller, Palin, and all the rest of Todd's secessionist buddies are one big happy group.
And as these individual ships start going down; we get to watch the rats starting scurrying for cover.
Not surprising that there is a link between them. Now, can they be linked to the Koch Bros. &/or AIP?
ReplyDeleteYou lucky dogs in Alaska get to have silencers??? How awesome is THAT! Man, if I had a nickel for every time I've thought to myself "Well, that situation would have gone much better if only I'd had a gun that didn't make so much noise when I fired it" I'd have me a whole mess o'nickels!! How come you get all the great laws in Alaska? Our stupid legislature does boring stuff like public transportation, education and health care.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alaska, for showing us the way to civilized enlightenment! If we could get that law here, it would sure make crime syndicate assassinations, drug dealer gun battles and road rage encounters a much quieter experience for everyone!
I've always thought the Palin's were way more involved with the AIP/Militia types up there than anyone suspected. I remember a buddy of hers and Todd's from the AIP on a video when she was tapped to be VP saying her door was always open to them. I wish some of those early tapes that the MSM never picked up on would be reviewed in light of the tea party assholes n congress and events in Norway. They might not be so easily dismissed now.
ReplyDeleteIf you can shed more light on that, Gryph, it would be awesome.
Aside from the dangerous ideology, do these jackasses even think about what they look like?
ReplyDeleteI know the guy is a 'wee-wee' but maybe you should fix the error:
ReplyDelete"Cox had convinced himself, and his friends, wee out to kill him."
$arah Paylin - crosshairs - Arizona shootings - deaths - Gabby Giffords almost assassinated - $arah's blood libel - $arah a traitor to her country
ReplyDeleteGee and I though rural frontier types were so straight forward and uncomplicated.
ReplyDeleteNot.
I have to say that is a really lame costume he is wearing. It looks like a $29.95 Rubies Halloween costume with bonus boot covers.
ReplyDeleteEven if this clown is harmless the fashion police would certianly want to rough him up over those outlandish galoshes he's sportin in that piture.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, Gryphen. Those fucking morons are stupid, paranoid, and armed. Also, if you are attempting to to get any information from them, think smart thoughts so you don't lose any IQ points by listening to them. Especially if they start talking about being "sovereigns."
ReplyDeletewhat a dumbass! isn't "peacemaking militia" an oxymoron? and legalizing silencers and other weapons is GOOD for the citizenry? what a fucking nutcase.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear that the judge wasn't as crazy as he is. score 1 for sanity!
Oh hell, I'm sure all the crazies in Alaska are as thick as thieves. We're running about 40% "normal" folks here vs. 60% crazy, frontier, Alaska Independence Party fruitcakes.
ReplyDeleteSo, a lot of us came here seeking space and freedom from the rat race in the lower 48. That level of freedom is often played out in different ways. Some of us want to have unparalleled outdoor opportunities; trails seldom hiked by others, mountains still available for first ascents. Others want to exercise an extreme version of their 2nd amendment rights; they want to secede from America and form militias that protect the christian stronghold that they wish to create here in Alaska. It's hippies/granolas meets gun toting crazies. That is what keeps Alaska interesting! Granted, I will sleep better at night knowing that this particular nutbag is safely behind bars without bail. Hopefully he'll stay there for a long time, until he is old and gray.
This needs to be exposed, and Gryphen is just the man to do the research that will show the direct links to Sarah, Todd and the AIP, among others.
ReplyDeleteJohn McCain's hands share the bloodshed this movement has caused. If anyone thinks he doesn't now nor didn't then know more, and ignored it or paid money to make it go away (like Troopergate) is woefully ill educated. The guilt by association they held Obama's heels to during the election was to deflect from their own culpability and treasonous acts.
The teabaggers, including the tea party idiots in Boner's posse, are just as dangerous and culpable.
costume needs a hat
ReplyDeleteThis might be O/T..but I clicked on one of the sites on the sidebar...Politicusa..I think it is called (sorry, but can see the sidebar while at this section).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it has a tab of things about Sarah Palin. One of the very interesting articles is by the Russian newspaper that the Rightwingers like to quote..cause is has said things about Pres. Obama that they like. This article, however, calls Sarah a traitor to the USA and lists all the times she has committed acts of treason. Guess if they think the comments about Pres. Obama are true, then this has to be too.
It worth reading.
Thanks for the follow up on this. Truly chilling, these folks. I'm sure we've got some of the same here in Texas. I can't wait for our country to move past this kind of crazy.
ReplyDeleteJesus what a weirdo. Nice outfit. Is he a throw back from the past.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Mrs P could ever rule the world as she wishes without a special army of hand-picked, armed anti-government thugs. She will never understand that there would always be another group of thugs seeking to outshoot and outnumber her little private gang or that her prized 'thug general' would be craving her job before long. She should carefully study the current middle eastern kingdoms and what those leaders have to do to keep their legions under siege.
ReplyDeleteI happen to know barney and cox personally. did lots of construction work for them, and would still in the future. The grenades were all de-activated pineapple grenades (wich are LEGAL TO HAVE) and the machinegun was a WWII mounted MG, didnt even work (also not a violation). Personally, as a life-long alaskan, the gun rights we have here scare me far more than coleman; he's pretty harmless (does he really look all that scary in that outfit?)when every alaskan over the age of 21 can legally conceal a silenced pistol at any time, in any place, why would you worry about the guy wearing his; loaded with rubber bullets? I've been shot, it was by some random dipshit teenager, he got 8 years. Living here scares the shit out of me every day. Coleman and Cox are both idiots in the fact that they need to learn to keep their mouths shut when they got a gun in their hand. Other than that, they're the least of my worries. I'm afraid of every alaskan, especially teenagers.
ReplyDeleteWhen government puts politics ahead of justice, then we the people are in trouble. Schaeffer never planned any murder of anybody, it was all cherry picked responses to undercover operative's questions about what are you going to do Schaeffer when they come for your kids, etc. They want a case. They don't mind lying. Life isn't safe for anybody in a corrupt system. Now DHS can listen in on your private conversations, who knows what they can concoct against you if they take a mind to. The sky is the limit
