Dipping my toe in the Sea O'Pee. Where the crazy train is always just entering the station.

I am always receiving links from visitors to alert me to crazy Sarah Palin stories, or bizarre goings on from her supporters.

"Hey Gryph, you have to see this!"

"Gryphen wait until you see what they are doing now!"

But I am rarely impressed.  After all by now I have pretty much seen it all.

I mean for God's sake, the woman chased me out into a parking lot to write down my license plate number!

When it comes to Sarah Palin I have seen me some crazy.

Or so I thought.

This was the link that I was sent about two days ago. (Before you click that link make sure you hang onto to something solid, because the complete lack of reality can be somewhat unsettling.)

Here is a sample of what I am talking about just so you don't think that I'm exaggerating:

Speaking of light, The Undefeated premieres tomorrow. Governor Palin’s supporters have been looking forward to this day. So have others who, though not supporters, have a genuine appreciation for the truth. Some people, however, don’t share that same enthusiasm or respect for facts. On the contrary, they despise it.

They’re panicking.

In typical roach fashion, as the light of Governor Palin’s record is about to shine brightly for all to see, they’re scurrying like roaches. Running in every direction, they’re doing everything in their power to avoid exposure. Light brings revelation, and they cannot handle revelation. It destroys what they’ve worked so hard to achieve. They’ve created, encouraged, and feasted on lies, and they’ve relied on never being found out. Everything seemed to be working in their favor, too. They had the left, some on the right, and the mainstream media in their corner, aiding and abetting their sinister deeds. They are the left, some on the right, and the mainstream media, in most cases. They did not have the foresight to imagine that the truth would emerge in the form of a Stephen Bannon documentary which would destroy their false narratives and outright lies. They expected these to forever go undetected as they chewed away at the Governor’s record and future. They thought they’d have the freedom, like roaches in the night, to roam and eat undisturbed, that she would at least go away and not come back. It’s taken them a while to figure it out, but as they have become increasingly aware that they were wrong, that the light has come and opened eyes and enlightened minds, they’re panicking.

Why do I say this?

We have been anticipating the release of The Undefeated for some time now. We’ve been waiting, getting the word out, expecting this film to be a definite game-changer. In the meantime, reviews have been written, interviews have been conducted, and previous skeptics have admitted that their opinion of Governor Palin changed upon learning the facts presented in the screening.

I can read your mind right about now, tell me if I am wrong.

Right now you are shaking your head and thinking "WTF?" Am I right? I knew it!

Right after that you might have asked yourself "Just WHAT kind of medication is this person was on?" And perhaps even wondered if you could get you some, because baby it MUST be the shit!

Well whatever these people are on it has taken them to an entirely different reality than the one that we are all currently experiencing.

Here is how the film critics are ACTUALLY responding to this film, courtesy of Politico:

The reviews are in on the Sarah Palin documentary, and they are not kind.

The pro-Palin film “The Undefeated” opened in 10 midsized American cities Friday to a chorus of boos from professional film critics.

Reviewers — not generally a conservative lot — faulted its one-sided portrayal of Palin’s rise to power in Alaska and national prominence.

New York magazine’s David Edelstein said he really tried to like the film. “I swear I gave ‘The Undefeated’ a chance, because who wants to writhe in agony for two hours?” he wrote. “I hoped that Director Stephen K. Bannon would show a side of Sarah Palin I’d never seen — I thought it would be so cool if I could give the movie a rave. But it’s a straight hagiography, without nuance or ambiguity, or the admission of opposing viewpoints — even those meant to be dismantled.”

Other reviewers also were quick to call the film propaganda.

Time magazine’s Richard Corliss wrote that the director “applies so much idolatrous air brushing to his portrait of the Divine Sarah that the movie might be called ‘Going Rouge.’”

Later in the review, Corliss added, “The movie may tempt even the most ardent conservatives to emulate their idol’s tenure as governor and walk out halfway through.”

The response of the critics was not the only indication that the film was doomed. The lack of asses in seats is the REAL barometer for determining a movie's success.  And guess what?

Undefeated grossed $60,000 to $75,000, meaning a per-screen average of $6,000 or $7,500, the measure by which limited openings are judged. A screen average below $10,000 is considered mediocre.

You know that is the problem with cockroaches.  Just when you expect them to scurry away, instead they stand their ground, look you in the eye, and tell you that your idol is a fake and that the ridiculous film you thought would make everybody love her is a steaming pile of moosecrap.

What sad and pathetic lives these people must lead. While I am certainly entertained, and often infuriated, by the antics of the Palin clan, they have little to no impact on my daily life. My first and last thoughts of the day as I lay in my bed are NEVER of anything connected to the Palins or their dysfunctional world.

How sad that the insane ramblings and behavior of a incompetent, unreliable, hateful woman from Wasilla can be such a tremendous force in these people's lives.

To your point, Gryphen: they are a cult.

My comments below are added in caps.
From Wikipedia on cults: "Studies performed by those who believe that some religious groups do practice mind control have identified a number of key steps in coercive persuasion."
    People are put in physical or emotionally distressing situations (FOX NEWS DIET, TEA PARTY NEWS FEED);
    Their problems are reduced to one simple explanation, which is repeatedly emphasized (PALIN);
    They receive unconditional love, acceptance, and attention from a charismatic leader or group (HARD TO BELIEVE BUT THAT'S WHAT THEY THINK. THEY ARE THEIR OWN CLUB);
    They get a new identity based on the group ("C4PALIN," "TEAM SARAH");
They are subject to entrapment (isolation from friends, relatives and the mainstream culture) and their access to information is severely controlled."(NOT ALLOWING THOUGHTFUL DISSENT AGAINST PALIN--OPPOSITION TO CRITICAL THINKING OR OTHER SOLUTIONS)

The C4P is a fascinating place, really. It's like stepping thru Alice's Looking Glass into a different reality. Their sun is Sarah, and the bots revolve around her. I've never seen anything like it for unadulterated hero worship. But then, I wasn't around for the Hitler era either.

    "...per-screen average of $6,000 or $7,500"

Per screen meaning per showing or for the entire weekend? Ummm, yeah those numbers are inflated just like Sarah's bobbies when she wants a free slice of pie. At a full $10 a seat not including the discounts on matinee's there is just no way in freakin Hell there were sold out shows at every theater to gross that kindof per screen averages no matter which way you spin the numbers.

And, simply out the fact that boxofficemojo is NOT giving any theater counts to this film is enough to be suspicious of any numbers that are independently being released by the distributor who btw when you look up their IMDB account has released nothing but BOMBS!!!
    http://boxofficemojo.com/counts/chart/?yr=2011&wk=29&p=.htm

Also too this is why these per screen takes are being floated, Bannon needs to fake box office to get theater owners to give up screen time to Palin which is just not going to happen a second week once their theaters are empty and they realize he lied to them about previous times being sold out.
Ticket: The DVD is currently available those who contribute $100 or more to SarahPAC. Are there any TV or other DVD distribution deals in the works?

Bannon: We are focused on theatrical, but the strong reaction to the film means we are going to make deals to get the film everywhere.

You know, it's not the fact that the bots are blind to the negative and extremely un-presidential aspects of Palin. What boggles my mind is that these people refuse to see that the accomplishments they're so impressed with have NO CONNECTION to "fiscally responsible", "small government" or "free market".

Please explain to me what she ever did that fits the Tea Party vision of government.

If Obama raised taxes on the oil industry and redistributed the profits to the people directly in the form of royalty checks, the Tea Bots would be decrying him as an anti-business Maxist job-killer, probably while strapping on bomb vests and loading up their assault weapons to go fight the "new revolution" to "save" America!

She was a Democrat in Republicans clothing! Not to mention the most socialist governor America has ever seen! How can they filter this information out of their minds, even when it's playing 20 feet high right before their eyes!?!

Seriously, it's like they're so in love with their manufactured vision of Sarah the person, that they swallow every lie she feeds them while overlooking the actual facts of what she really did in office!

Me: "...but she raised taxes on the oil companies and LITERALLY redistributed the wealth to the citizens! You know, like Socialism!"

$arahBot: "yeah, but she wurked rilly hard and luvs teh Amurrka. An' ain't she jus a perky lil' firebrand? Run Sarah, run!"

  17. I visit C4P occasionally and it's always bewildering. In the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Palin supporters trot out all their buzzwords--she's smart, strong, honest, patriotic, a true Christian, cornerstone of her loving family--blah, blah, blah.

Of course they're free to believe whatever they choose, and send her contributions if they like, but one thing baffles me. What do they get out of it?

Friday a commententer noted that Palin supporters were mobilizing everyone they knew to attend the movie. He detailed their sacrifices--losing sleep, suffering all kinds of angst. The kicker is they were doing all this WITH HER BLESSING. (Emphasis his.)

What is her blessing worth? I used to think she appealed to the dumbest among us because somehow she made them feel validated. She made it okay to be an ignorant redneck, because vulgar Joe Six-Packs are the real Americans--not like the worldly, well-educated man of color in the White House.

But after all this time, how can they not see that she doesn't give a damn about them. What has she done for anybody except herself?

Clearly numbers of her supporters are falling off. Lurking on Gretawire right after Palin smugly announced that she would "decide" whether she's running later this summer, I saw that the thread devoted to this topic had only 125 comments well after midnight. Not long ago, it was common for Palin threads on GW to have 1,000+ comments.

But this hardcore group at C4P makes me wonder. I wish a shrink could explain to me why they still cling to the Palin myth. They can't all be true Dominionists, can they? All I can figure is they are people with empty lives, and probably a deep streak of masochism.

Since you mentioned she wrote down your license number . . . Alaska code bans release of name, etc., from a license number without a reason recognized by the DMV. For example, if you vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle, you can sign an affidavit and the DMV will tell you the name and address of the registered owner. If Palin got your name from the license number without a valid reason, she violated Alaska law.

  41. Anonymous8:01 PM

It's crazy that they believe anti-Palin bloggers are roaches and hate the light. When someone acts and behaves contrary to humility and kindness, people see and hear with their own eyes what she is. There's a very simple test.....it's what Jesus taught, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". If SP does to others that she would NOT want them to do to her, then she should have stopped insulting and berating those not in her camp, especially the POTUS, her almost son-in-law, a teenager, and others. She lost my respect a long time ago, in fact on the day at the RNC convention. I was looking for a woman of integrity and heard a spiteful delivery of words ever since then.

There's no mistaking it. She has no light that brings any good revelation. If she knew the real "Light" that she purports to know, who her bible teaches is Jesus, she would be communicating in truth and in Spirit with a tongue worthy his of His good name.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned that her cult followers are each buying 4,5 and more tickets to inflate the numbers. Many of them have admitted to attending the movies 3 and 4 times as well. It's cheating/lying just to make her look good. I'm sure most of them still have tickets they couldn't get rid of.

    8:09 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hehehe, let them spend their money. At least if they give it all to SP and her realm of future QVC articles they cannot give those same dollars to a viable candidate. I think it is hilarious that they want to inflate ticket sales thinking (or not thinking) that it will increase Sarah's very miniscule following nation wide.

They may like the idea, in theory, but when it comes time to put it into practice, they won't part with their cash for that, no way no how.

    As for the "Undefeated?"

This dog won't hunt. It is all hat and no cattle. It's stankier than shit. This smells so bad it could knock a buzzard off a shit wagon. It's as confused as a goat on astro-turf. It's proof that evolution CAN go in reverse. It stinks like a whorehouse at low tide.

It is an odious turd of a movie and there isn't a damn thing that the shit flinging flying monkeys can do to change that. It sucks and anyone with even a partially functioning brain knows it.

They are all in a tizzy because FauxNews is fixin' to pack it in. Who will tell them what to think, what to say, inform them what they should be very afraid of?

  72. Here's how I see it..

These whack-a-do's think that if the movie is a huge hit it'll somehow convince Scarrah that she'll sail into the White House on a surging tide of popularity. Which means she'll finally stop prick-teasing them and run already.

Sooo...they are going to pull out all the stops and drag every living body (kicking & screaming if they have to)in a desperate attempt to make a hit out of shit. They're going to buy every ticket their SS checks will cover and blog away about how great it was. Making this movie a success has become their sole obsession.

It never occurs to them that they're having to BUY her decision to run for POTUS. After 3yrs of blind devotion, buying not only HER books but her brat's, donating money so she can use it for "family vacations", and various other bullshit; NOW it's, "buy lots of tickets so the movie is a hit & Sarah will run!"

You hear that teapotters? The woman whose feet you worship at is nothing but a political whore. You keep throwing money at her thinking she really loves you & will give you what you want but she only cares about your wallet.

Everybody else can see it, except for those poor lost souls that would eat the peanuts out of her shit if she told them to.

I wouldn't care except every dollar they send to her is one less they have for the important things...like birth control.

Railing against "progressives", she forgets that without the progressives, there wouldn't have been abolitionists, that she would still be relegated to the back of the bus and as a woman wouldn't have the right to vote, much less decide when SHE chose to be a parent. She wouldn't be teaching white kids in Hudson and would be limited to one of two job opportunities; cook or cleaning lady.

    Right on Gryphen..

I just read the "cockroach" article and some of the comments.

So essentially what Paylin's supporters are saying is that any human being who does not support BigBoss Paylin 100% , and contribute money to her cause is a cockroach.

Especially if you are "lucky" enough to see her new movie, which is perfect by the way.

If you see her new movie, and don't completely have a conversion to being her supporter, then you are a cockroach.

Gee, that makes me feel really welcome. Nice to know that my fellow US citizens that I fought for, and served in the US military for are calling me a roach.

Oh, and also, too, I'm not a christian, and not a registered republican, so that must make me subhuman, and not even worthy of life.

Remember the bumper stickers Republicans of the 1960's anyone?

Their favorites were "My country right or wrong."

Or "Love it or leave it"
You had to support Nixon's escalation of the war in Vietnam,
or you might as well leave the USA>

Those bigots are just like the blindly ignorant Paylin fans saying Sarah is ALWAYS right, and if you don't think so, then just go play in the road.

This article serves a purpose, in that it let's the other 99.9% of the rest of us in USA know what the Palin bots really think of us.

What I don't get is how they can spin this as anything but a complete and utter flop!

    What do I mean?

They are saying the opening weekend gross for the movie (ten screens) was around $75,000. (Actually most places are saying more like $67,000 but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.)

Again - also giving the benefit of the doubt - we have to realize that there are many Palinbots who simply could not travel to an opening.

HOWEVER - Team Sarah has been flogging their wacky Buy-FIVE for the Queen for weeks. There appears to be an intentional effort (unremarked upon in the media for the most part) to open this movie near some of the largest "mega churches" in the country. At least five (according to my research) opened within 20 miles of one of the top ten mega churches in the country, including The Fellowship Church in Grapevine Texas, which boasts a weekly attendance of 20,000.)

Let's assume that Team Sarah actually did get just 200 people to buy five tickets. That's 1000 tickets right there - $7500 - 10% of the opening weekend gross. YUP - if only 200 people succumbed to their "plan" that easily accounted for 10% of the opening.

Look at it another way. If JUST the Grapevine Church had gotten 10% of its average Sunday attendance (which would have been 2000 people) to attend in JUST IN GRAPEVINE, that theater should have been sold out every show this weekend.

But other than a few shows on Friday night, NO shows this whole weekend anywhere in the ten cities were sold out.

Get it through your heads, you lame-asses. Even with absolutely rabid marketing efforts on C4P and Team Sarah you could not come close to selling out ten small theaters in "red" areas for one weekend. This is a miserable failure.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Randall5:11 AM

    Also, too . . .

Readin about the 400 tickets sold in the Dalls-Ft Worth Metro Area and that might seem like a lot (snark)

...but you have to keep in mind - the Palin-Bots were buying 5 tickets at a time, so it's really only 80 people.

Don't forget to divide by 5 when you see the numbers, folks.

Case in point: The PR flack they hired to promote this movie got in a comment war with the NY Post critic who panned the movie. The PR flack claimed The Undefeated was getting great reviews from "liberal Hollywood" and posted links to reviews at places Variety magazine to prove his claim. I clicked on the link; it was simply an announcement that the movie was about to debut.

Um, far from it. She actually posted a blog once about how she assigned her class to write an essay about Sarah Palin. One of her students wrote she didn't like Palin, upon which this teacher, according to her own blog post, followed the girl to her locker to ask her why not. And then she kept approaching her the rest of the day.

The fact that Palin (a sitting governor at the time of this incident) sought your vehicle license number to determine your identity simply speaks volumes. That she chased you out of the sports center to do so is truly an act of desperation. It was so clear to a lot of us that she was a sore loser after she and McCain lost the election. And we suspected Alaska bloggers were at the top of her list of people she blamed, but to actually pursue a vendetta in this manner is breathtakingly scary. No sane person behaves this way.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anonymous9:40 AM

Let's take some of these numbers even farther:

Anonymous at 5:07 - working off your numbers:

Let's assume that Team Sarah actually did get just 200 people to buy five tickets. That's 1000 tickets right there - $7500 - 10% of the opening weekend gross. YUP - if only 200 people succumbed to their "plan" that easily accounted for 10% of the opening.

    ------

You should take that math one step farther. Let's assume that Team Sarah got 50 people in EACH area to buy five tickets. These are major-sized metropolitan areas with - as you point out - mega churches in many of them. (This is Scarah's base!)
    That's 10 theaters x 50 people = 500 people.
    500 people x 5 tickets = 2500 tickets.
    2500 tickets x $7.50 = $18,750.

So 25% of their "successful" opening is easily accountable by saying that just 50 people in EACH AREA (in areas where there are millions) agreed to swallow the B.S. and buy 5 tickets! There were more people than that at my kid's last piano recital!

Yet, when this Piece Of Shit closes everywhere after one week and fails to open anywhere else (EVER) they will blame it all on poor coverage by the lame ass media.

    LOL

I am aghast at the story of an english literature teacher giving a student such a hard time about her essay. Did she make them read Sarah's book as literature( it clearly is not)? Clever way to boost the sales of the book though. What kind of administration does that school have, that they allow her to continue to teach. If I were that girl's parents, I would be camping out at school board meetings until something was done. She is clearly a crazy woman...and needs to be taken out of the class room situation and as far away from the kids as possible. I had some batshit crazy teachers in high school, but they were relatively harmless..just strange (like the french teacher who was always wearing shoes that were two different colors and styles). She wasn't there to teach us how to dress, but how to speak French..and she was good at that.
