President Obama's Weekly Address: Putting Country ahead of Party.

This was definitely a message to Americans about who is REALLY gumming up the works and keeping solutions from being implemented to solve our financial problems.

Too bad the teabagging Republicans are too myopic to understand that their obstructionism is hurting their constituents and causing the very problems that they were sent to Congress to solve.

However I really do believe that the American voters are beginning to see through deceptive tactics used by those who are trying to lay the blame solely at the President's feet, and that that will be confirmed in the next election cycle.

I agree - obstruction has been the name of the game in the House which has been led by Republicans. I so hope the majority of them are gone on their next election cycles.

President Obama has my vote for a second term.

He is a great President. Just think what could be done for this country without Republicans and the terrorist Tea Party.

  4. I LOVE our President!! Let's give him a landslide in 2012 -- and a landslide of progressive Democrats in the House and Senate, so he's free of the Tea Party obstructionists.

    Thanks, Gryphen, for posting this!

    Hey there Sare~

I understand that the President will be reading up to five (count 'em, 5) good books whilst enjoying the "entirety" of the First Family's vacation on Martha's Vineyard. Gotta love those real American family values, eh?

Btw, what books do you read?

    :")

As this will get NO airplay on Fox "News" very few will know about it.

I've been in homes where the President comes on TV to advise us of something, and the home owner runs like the TV is on fire, to turn it off.

There was a time, NOT long ago, when there was a decent respect for the OFFICE, if not the actual man, enough to never even consider burying your head under the covers so the Boogeyman don't getcha.

    Pathetic, absolutely pathetic, America.

If you want to watch something that makes you feel good. Only 2 minutes long of our President in Iowa this week. (unlike the "others" we got to watch this week).

Sane and smart... A nice Saturday youtube with real people solving problems, listening, connecting... no drama, celebrity, crazy,

Lizard skin feet will be tweeting a negative response in 5 4 3 2 1.
$ARAH only knows negative subjects to talk about. When has she ever offered any substantial solutions to AMERICA'S problems? She is still begging for "personal use" donations.
How much longer will her c4pee sheep
    fall for the Grifting?

I love the fact that President Obama and his daughters went to a book store soon after arriving for their vacation. All vacations need good books!

I have great faith in President Obama. No faith at all in the Republicans in Congress and even less than that (negative faith?) in the potential Republican presidential candidates.

Why does anyone want to be president? Except for a few (Ronnie Reagan, for example) you just get bashed, trashed and lashed. I love Obama, support him, donate to him, etc, but sometimes I wish, for his and his family's sake, that he'd just go back to being a law professor. But he's no Quitter!

  13. If Perry gets the nomination, at a presidential level the choice will be between nut and sane man.

We had that choice in 2010 and we opted for insanity. The results were that we got what we paid for. Let the buyer beware.

If Perry wins the nomination, we get to make the choice again, and we deserve to get whatever we choose.

He's one man who knows how to connect with people in a very real way. He's been dealing with so much, and yet makes it look easy. I'm sure he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, yet he projects confidence. What an amazing man!

He has my vote, and hopefully we'll get a democratic house led by Nancy Pelosi to actually get it done right.

    Great post, and excellent comments!

Wow, a President who values reading and encourages his girls to become educated. The GOP could learn a lot from this man if they weren't so obstinate.

Great contrast: Democrats go on vacation and READ.

Republicans go on vacation and kill things.

  18. Pretty pandering to the "Heartland" - he's trying hard to get those voters back.

I really, really hope he succeeds.

On Hardball last night Chris Mathews had on the RNC chair who stated that people are going to vote on one thing: are they better off now than they were three years ago?

Even Mathews said, "Well if that's what it is, you win".

Because, even though Mathews REPEATEDLY pointed out the massive DEBT INCREASE, INREASED SPENDING and TOTAL LACK OF WALL STREET OVERSIGHT (that caused the "Perfect Crap Storm" America is currently navigating)occurred under Republican George Bush for Eight Years -- NO ONE REALLY CARES WHOSE FAULT IT IS IF THEY ARE HURTING; they ONLY CARE that they, and their families, are hurting.

The "blame Obama" bullshit is going to be the War Call of this election (ya know, b/c that is soooo original...)

Also, too, how long until Paylie points out the Pres. said these were "common sense solutions". She'll be like: "Well, well, well. That's what I've been talking about ALL along".

Stupid asshat has NEVER given an EXAMPLE of one of her so-called "common sense solutions"...EVER. EVER. EVER.

I'm hoping that Crazy Granny throws her scary wig in the race for POTUS on September 3rd. Just think, the other Republican candidates will reveal their "opposition research" on her, the people who've promised to talk if she runs will spill what they know, and then the upcoming books and documentary will finish her off.

    Got popcorn?

I wish him luck, he has to overcome the RWNJ controlled TV News and AM Talk Radio.
This will be no small task since he has had a couple of years to try to get them to be objective yet he seems to feel it is not necessary to get some change going in the media. He has failed miserably so far. After seeing 30,000 AK voters who should have voted for the democratic party senate candidate vote for a republican I see little chance he will succeed. It seems there are a lot of folks who still don't realize the tea-party and the republicans are one and the same.

There's not much question WHY everything in Congress is so screwed up now.

Mitch McConnell came out with this gem of patriotic speech after the 2010 mid-term elections:

    Quote
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president”

    http://tinyurl.com/29cv95y

Fact: COngress has lost all the civility and comity they ever had,
and every vote is about taking down the President.

Fact: Funding federal elections by lobbyist and unlimited contribution from big business is no different than hiring a WHORE with money.

Fact: NOT having term limits in congress is like making the fox a nice bed in the hen house.

If we don't get behind the 2012 elections and get Democrats back in charge of the House and re-elect Obama, we can look forward to 4 more years of lies and obstruction from the Teaparty christian supremacists.

If the USA elects Bachmann, Perry, or Dog forbid, the idiot Grandma from Wasilla, we are going to be ruled by Pastor Muthee and C Peter Wagner by proxy.

Read this article by Wagner on what the christian dominionists have planned for us

Read this article by Leah Burton on exactly what the christian supremacists have planned for you and your kids if they can elect a simpleton like Palin who can be pursuaded to follow every religious myth:
