Tea Party denounces Christine O'Donnell for abruptly quitting CNN interview.

Courtesy of The New Civil Rights Movement:

Characterizing her performance as a “temper tantrum,” Judson Phillips, founder and head of Tea Party Nation writes, “if you are going to play in the big leagues, you have to play by the rules. CNN and Piers Morgan are pretty far to the left but this time Morgan is right and O’Donnell was not only wrong, but extremely unprofessional to walk out of the interview.

“She was on the show to talk about her book, which Morgan commented on favorably. O’Donnell refused to answer the question about gay marriage, saying it is in the book. If you write a book, be expected to answer questions about what you put in the book.”

“Piers Morgan was not asking anything inappropriate. Christine O’Donnell’s immature and unprofessional response makes the Tea Party movement look bad. Was she ashamed of her position on gay marriage? Did she not feel competent enough to defend her beliefs? We will never know.

“Conservatives everywhere should be able to articulate their political positions and the reasons behind them without throwing a temper tantrum when they are asked to defend them.

“We may have just seen Christine O’Donnell’s last prime time performance. I am sure she is a nice person but she does not understand what she has to do if she is going to be a national figure.

“If she does not understand this, perhaps fading from the scene might not be a bad thing for her.”

Ooooh, THAT'S going to leave a mark!

The Tea Party criticizes Christine O'Donnell for quitting an interview, but embraces Sarah Palin who quit her governorship mid-way?

LMAO...I don't what the Tea Party is drinking, but I would love some of what they are smoking.

  3. Wow. I thought being unqualified was the major qualification for being a Tea Party candidate. When THEY think you're not qualified to represent them, the stupid must be off the scale.

She really is an immature little thing, now isn't she? Although I can't stand the guy, he's absolutely correct, if you're gonna play with the big guys, you gotta step up to the plate. She's just a little girl at 35, and mostly likely hasn't come to terms with her sexuality which is why she is so skittish about the subject.

  7. And that.right.there.is why Granny Grifter ONLY went on FOX.

Someone already pointed out COD got through her ins-Hannity interview with flying colors.

Anybody that books this ditz again for any interview is out of their minds.

And just when is she going to get a REAL job ? How on Earth does she make money for living expenses ?

Just another lazy-ass grifter that might as well be on welfare.

No intention of ever getting a job.

Oh, the Tea Party doesn't need to worry about the witch making them look bad, they looked bad coming out of the gate.

  10. This is the problem with having these books ghost written. The supposed author does not really know what's in the book itself. (I'm sure some of these people do read the books first but they don't seem to get asked for interviews). She had her talking points all set out and thought she could control the conversation. Clearly delusional, but we knew that already.

She claimed on the Today Show this morning that she did not walk off the interview but CNN played it up to increase their ratings. She is another example of how irrelevant the MSM has become.

Philips is a despicable character. O'Donnell is a nutcase.

But I do agree with him that those who don't have the balls to answer real questions about their belief systems and defend their twaddle need to get the hell out of politics.

    Sarah? You next.

Piers Morgan was respectful and upbeat through the whole interview, I only wish he had been able to quote for her any passage regarding gay marriage in "her" book.

Of course that was her job. To know what was in her book, and defend it. (I bet her book was "ghostwritten" and she was afraid of mis-quoting "herself".) Crybaby.

I hope SP noticed that this "I'll just walk away from the hard questions" is no longer considered acceptable, even by the T-Party.

I'm tired of book peddlers going on the talk show circuit thinking that they are doing an informerical for their book instead of an interview with different hosts.

Who needs different shows, if every host asks the canned questions approved by the interviewee.

She was getting free publicity, she ought to be willing to answer the questions asked.

Well now, if only the Tea Party would apply their standards to Palin:

    * “... if you are going to play in the big leagues, you have to play by the rules."

    * "... immature and unprofessional response makes the Tea Party movement look bad."

    * “Conservatives everywhere should be able to articulate their political positions and the reasons behind them without throwing a temper tantrum when they are asked to defend them."

    * "I am sure she is a nice person but she does not understand what she has to do if she is going to be a national figure."

    * "If she does not understand this, perhaps fading from the scene might not be a bad thing for her."

Hey, maybe in their denunciation of Christine O'Donnell's action, the Tea Party is sending a subliminal message to Palin.

  19. Hasn't Michelle Bachmann also refused to answer some questions? (I am thinking about an interview recently where she kept saying the issue wasn't relevant because she was running for the "presidency")? Maybe she gets away with it because -- it wasn't an interview about a book she was promoting, and/or, she didn't walk off?

Philips makes a lot of sense, but doesn't seem to be applying his POV consistently with "his people". That also is a NO-NO.

That she has run for a political position for the last 6 years or so, clearly indicates that the ruling and dismissing of her 'use of campaign funds for personal use' was flawed. She has had NO INCOME EMPLOYMENT other campaign donations and the PAC she set up after she lost.

It also raises the issue for which people should be up in arms about regarding the 'low hanging rules' of all these PACS and SuperPACS.

Government is failing us when all these people get away with `personal use`of all these PAC and campaign funds.

Have they NOT noticed that they are being represented by Palin, Bachmann and Perry??? They're REALLY okay with the Quitter Queen, Crazy Eyes and Governor Goodhair being their spokespeople but are embarrassed by O'Donnell walking out on a radio interview??

Hey, Bill. She may have claimed that she didn't walk out of the interview, but CNN has the tapes showing her walking out of the interview. The GOP wants to return us to 1950, but they forget that people have access to whatever it is they want to find.
This is not a media problem; it's an O'Donnell is a coward problem.

Is there a difference between walking out of a interview and never consenting to do an interview in the first place?

If Judson Phiilpis is serious about this, I await his calling out Sarah Palin.

  27. AKinPA6:05 AM

Do you think the Tea Party is still smarting from being blamed by the GOP for losing the Senate in 2010 because of this Sarah Palin clone? Are they trying to achieve some level of credibility with the part of the electorate that actually thinks before they vote?

By the way, didn't her mentor Palin tell her during that campaign to only go on Faux News?

I guess COD thought that now that she was a rill author, she could venture out on her own and start grifting those rill Amurikans just like SP.

  29. Same exact thing can be said for Sarah Palin. Same exact words. But oh yes, that's right, no one ever challenges Palin on anything she says, "writes", facebooks or tweets. It's all just taken as "fact".

Judson Phillips can piss off. The sniveling tool smells blood in the water and is only attacking O'Donnell cuz he knows she's useless now. And she absolutely is useless - but she was that before the CNN interview.

As always Christine O'Donnell's best enemy is herself.

SP(tm) advised controlling the media completely by using only Fox. Look for this witch on Hannity.

  33. Gasman7:37 AM

O'Donnell is truly amazing. She claims that her 15 minutes of fame are not yet up and "writes" a book about her previous 14 minutes. Now she has the chutzpah - if you want to be like Bachmann, pronounce the "CH" - to declare that she will not discuss some topics about which she has made very public statements and written about in the book. If you ask her these things you are tagged as being "creepy."

O'Donnell is an ignorant child. She too stupid by half. She is a simpering moron who either giggles, pouts, or stamps her feet. This imbecile is so CLEARLY out of her element it would be humorous if the prospect of her in the Senate were not so ominous.

Christine, some advice: Get off the stage and shut the fuck up, at least until you've read a couple of dozen books and proven that you have measurable reading comprehension skills. That last point is still in serious doubt. You are a pathetic embarrassment to our species. Your überconservatively regressive politics are offensive enough, but coupled with your breathtakingly profound ignorance, the combination is insufferable.

The teabaggers are even embarrassed by your performance. How bad do you have to be to be called out by the Goliath of morons, Judson Phillips?

    Go away.

I believe I read somewhere that this moron is 41. Whatever her chronological age is, she is just as silly, immature, and emotionally stunted as her mentor, Palin, and the wannabe president, Bachmann. While the Tea Party, which is right only occasionally like a stopped clock, correctly assessed her actions, that doesn't alter the fact that it has been a destructive force in American politics.

    The double standard astounds me.

Sarah Palin is a PUSSY with the press, refusing to engage in real interviews and just rehashes her unsubstantiated 'common sense' bullshit from the moment she walked on the stage at the RNC convention - here we are three years later and the woman refuses to bone up on any issues that would make her worthy of contributing to the national dialog.

What a bunch of two-faced dicks.

  43. I agree that O'Donnell acted like a little primadonna, yep! But..one has to wonder...Why is Judson Phillips not criticizing Bachmann for her refusal to answer questions when she feels like it? She avoids certain subjects, sometimes she's asked a question and she'll just repeat over and over "I'm running for the Presidency of the United States". She avoids MSM like the plague. She's been known to walk off stage to avoid certain topics, as well as last weekend in Iowa, she only stayed on stage for 3 minutes, then left because the topic turned to same-sex marriage/gays. Can't have it both ways, Tea Party!

WTF? Here's the quote about the harassing questions questions:

"It was not about the questions of gay marriages, as the producer very dishonestly tried to portray it. It was ... the very inappropriate, creepy line of questioning leading up to that. And I think that I was a very good sport for the first 20 minutes," she said. But it was questions that he'd asked just moments before the gay rights issues -- including one about masturbation -- that unnerved her. "Do you still think masturbation is wrong?" he asked, followed by "Have you committed lust in your heart?"

Excuse me, but the masturbation one is definitely a pertinent one, as it can be a matter of public policy re: sex education. remember Donna Shalala? So no Chrissy, nobody cares if you diddle yourself, really - it wasn't a personal question.

And that one about lust in her heart is straight from the 1970's via Jimmy Carter - who 'fessed up and said he had.

It's a "are YOU a perfect person, who lives up to what you preach?" question - nothing harassing about it.
