Teabaggers upset that Rep. Maxine Waters told them to go to the same place that they are sendng the country to in a handbasket.

During a speech at Inglewood High School, Rep. Waters said the following:

Yeah I know, I loved it too. However the Teabaggers themselves seem to have gotten their panties in a twist over the statement and have responded by complaining to....wait for it.....President Obama!

Courtesy of, who else, Fox News:

Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin, who lead the Tea Party Patriots, suggested President Obama should step in to put a check on the overheated rhetoric.

"We've had Democrats calling American citizens 'terrorists' and 'hostage takers,' and now an elected Democratic representative says that we can 'go straight to hell.' The president and all leaders of the Democratic Party, who have called for civility in the past, are neglecting to censure their own. Is civility only required from their opponents?" they asked in a statement. "Perhaps it's time for a new-NEW era of civility. ... The president's silence on these latest violations of civility has been deafening, but not surprising."

Really?

So let me see if I have this straight.

The Teabaggers have called this President every ugly name in the book, including a Socialist, a Muslim, a Communist, un-American, the Anti-Christ, and stated categorically that he hates this country, all while fanning the flames of racism, and he is supposed to just take it without complaint?

But when a politician who is angry at what she sees these treasonous bastards doing to her country expresses her first amendment rights, they go running to the very same President that they just spent the last three years vilifying to protect them?

Are you fucking kidding me?

This is random but I actually think if Bristol and Kyle's show actually shows the living situation of her, Kyle, her brother, Willow and a child, it could be incredibly entertaining. AND she has friends drop by.

I think the show is worth watching at least once. The combination of Alaskan and LA life.

The tea party is similar to the religious right. They complain they are not treated fairly in the main stream media. The thing they simply do not understand is most people are not in agreement with them. Instead, they prefer to paint themselves as victims rather than looking inward and realizing their message is simply not important to most people.

    Reposting some important news.

Talk to Action's own Rachel Tabachnick will be discussing the New Apostolic Reformation on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross, Wednesday, August 24th.

The NAR is an important movement of the Religious Right with close ties to Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann. It promises to be a defining feature of the upcoming election season.

Fresh Air can be heard on more than 450 public radio stations in the U.S. and in Europe on the World Radio Network. It is also live streamed and podcast on the Fresh Air web site. To find stations that carry the show, click here.

For background on NAR and its role in American public life, check out some of Rachel's posts:

Only one appropriate response - but since our President has too much class and respect for his position to say it, I'll oblige by saying it for him:

Yeah, it's just like when they made all the nazi/Hitler analogies about Obama and got offended that their "free speech" was being infringed when people complained, but then they lost their tiny minds when a democrat dared to use the same comparisons on THEM.

I swear the right is entirely in a state of zero self awareness and infantile development arrest. They love to dish it out but can't take it when it's thrown back at them.

That's what I liked about Anthony Wiener and Alan Grayson. They could throw their own shit right back in their faces and they HATED that.

Bullies don't like it when their victims fight back.

    @5:26 pm:

Are you serious? A show about people who have done nothing and have empty lives doing meaningless crap like getting their nails done would "be worth watching"?

That's fucking pathetic. At least the Jersey Shore people are insane assholes who do irritating stupid crap and have the same entertainment value as a monkey cage at the zoo. (Though I still refuse to watch it or any other "reality" tv)

Bristol and her friends have no interest value at all. They aren't meaningful enough or dysfunctional and insane enough to be interesting in any way. Well, maybe if we saw the TRUE inner workings of the Palin family revealed, but that's never going to happen.

So if watching a sanitized fantasy of what Bristol wants you to think her life is like to promote her "brand" is "entertaining" to you, go for it. You have my sympathy.

  23. I have always admired Maxine, her intelligence, strength, and ability to stand up for what she believes. I worked with her many years ago on a local election campaign in Central Los Angeles. She wasn't running for office herself at that time, but she was a politically active leader even then and a very memorable woman. I have always felt happy that I "knew her when" and have followed her career with pleasure. I love her no bullshit way of dealing with things.

Apparently only republicans are allowed to call republicans hostage-takers.

“I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting. Most of us didn’t think that. What we did learn is this -- it’s a hostage that’s worth ransoming. And it focuses the Congress on something that must be done.”

Maxine is also holding job fairs in areas like Detroit...she is actually doing something to help the unemployed. Unlike the GOP, who wants to make sure they lose unemployment benefits that they paid for while they were working ASAP, lose their food stamps, and then their homes. Tell me, then what are they supposed to do? How about a plan, GOP? Something that targets people who DON'T make a million dollars a year in tax cuts? Something that actually helps the poor. You good Christians remember how your hero Jesus treated the poor, don't you? As equals. "It will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven." So, if heaven is not your goal, what the f*** do you need all those millions stockpiled offshore for? |Time for some tax fairness. Time for people to give back to the nation that made them rich.

When your "queen" has an IQ of 83, (that IS a matter of public record, not a "gotcha moment by the left wing media"), who do you think follows her?? Probably not rocket scientists....Now, add mental illness to this retardation of the mind and you get a pretty good idea of what these teapartiers are like. Now, add the evils of corporate america to the mix and you get a pretty good idea of what the future of this country will be like if we do not fight hard against all of this next year. I am counting to ten.....someone needs to inform them of the wisdom of Ghandi...."Be the change you want to see in the world."

So Maxine Waters isn't buying what they are selling, which is hate and bigotry....good for Maxine. Sometimes the truth hurts.

They want to restart the clock..great, it starts with them.
Although I would love to see them sit through a compilation of all the nastiness they have perpetrated and then explain why anyone should be concerned about their bruised and dented feelings.
They are fueled by fear and hatred and are weak and pathetic people.
And somehow God and religion in their twisted thinking sanctions this behavior and thinking.

Episode Four: Bristol pretends to be abstinent. Wears 8 layers of clothing in LA, looks like an idiot. Ends up sleeping with some guy she met at the grocery store and his girlfriend. Already pregnant with Sarah Palin's 4th grandchild but not sure who the daddy is.

The Tea Party is NOT organic- it's a Koch funded, racial-political-social-economic movement in one. And the movement is to further separate the poor, the minorities, the "other" from the American Dream that these Rich, White BusinessMEN believe is reserved for them, alone.

The first post made me laugh...sure, Bristol's "reality" show is as real as everything else about that family.

I was curious though...you say "her brother" is going to be part of the show as well as "a child". I wasn't aware that Track had stooped so low...and I am wondering which "child" she is choosing to pimp out for this.

I figure this is the perk they threw to Willow to start her on her grifting career. She's been so jealous that her sister has been making all that money, so now she is being given the chance to be a super star too. Wonder how they are keeping her filthy mouth shut.

Sad, actually, that those two young black men are allowing themselves to be a part of this joke.

I absolutely loved the commenter at 3:23 giving us a synopsis of the shows so that we don't have to watch it.

Really...WHO in their right mind would think this show would be worth wasting valuable time from their lives...when they are dying, they will look back and regret those hours. It will NOT be "incredibly entertaining" and the only friends who will drop in will be paying customers.
