What is the definition of insanity again?

I believe it was Albert Einstein who said "Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

With that definition in mind, check out the frenzy of activity over at this Palin-bot site:

Texas Organize4Palin volunteers have arranged a charter bus trip to attend Tea Party of America’s “Restoring America” rally in Indianola, Iowa, on Saturday September 3rd.

Governor Sarah Palin will be the keynote speaker at this event and many Palin supporters believe this will be the very day she will declare her candidacy for the 2012 election to defeat President Barack Obama.

Keep in mind that these same people were also CONVINCED Palin would throw her hat into the ring during her last book tour, and again when Glenn Beck came to Anchorage, and yet again during the premiere of "The Undefeated," and at various other times too numerous to mention.

Like miniature poodles running for the door every time they think they hear approaching footsteps, these idiots become excited every time Palin clears her throat, convinced that THIS time she will really do what they are breathlessly waiting on pins and needles for her to do.

What they still fail to realize, even though I have been selflessly attempting to educate them for almost three years now, is that Palin IS doing what MOST of us expect her to do.  Which is to continue faking a run for the office of President of the United States, while teasing these idiots into ponying up even more money for the opportunity to once again be disappointed that she did not declare.

Right now this whole thing seems like a crazy experiment in stubborn endurance, the goal of which is to see how long these people will dangle on the line with only a brief appearance here, or a pseudo political advertisement there to give them hope.

As much as I personally dislike what Palin is doing to these people, I have to admit that I find myself almost impressed that she has managed to successfully string along a portion of her once much larger group of supporters for all of this time. I don't know exactly what it says about her, or them, or celebrity-politics in general, but it has lasted far longer than I would have thought possible even a year ago.

And I once again have to say that I worry about the fragile emotional condition that will surely be the result once she finally cuts these people loose.

In spite of the fact that Palin's face is pretty in this photo, the posture and the expression is...well, I'm once again embarrassed for her. Somebody needs to demand professional help for that woman. Doesn't any of her family or friends care enough about her to step up to help her?

The pundints(sic) at Grifter's Monthly predict The Screechy Wretch(tm) will announce her 'run' - only to quit part way through as a result of 'persecution' by bloggers, socialists, Negroes, Jews, Democrats, abortionaries and athiests. This gambit will permit her to maintain the grifter's lifestyle in anticipation of running in 2016, 2020, 2024 and 2026 (a year without a presidential election but see if THAT stops Granny Lulu....) If she flat out declines to run in 2012, the grief among her defenders will reduce contributions to GrifterPAC catastrophically.

They still haven't gotten over the Civil War (aka "War of Northern Agression" 1861 to 1865)- see Nathan Bedford Forrest license plates.

It helps to build ties and the sense of persecution to "never forget". It will simply be blamed on someone other than Sarah.

I hear a new swaydo grassroots group is forming now- the TeaParty.

For the many that have said that the new video she put out 'means' she running -- they seem to have forgotten that she put out a video before the 2010 election too -- of 'mama grizzly'.

It played out the same way as this new Iowa one -- photo-ops of meeting and shaking hands of people at various events, venues. Music and spewed whatever words as I can't be bothered wasting time to find it and certainly no desire to listen to it.

Other than the video - did she do anything different than what she's doing now -- nope. Just went out and spewed her word salada, her hate and her male sexist comments. Yea -- she tosses a number of grenades but plays victim on the receiving end. When is she going to be called out on them?? Don't hold your breath, you'll die before that happens.

I think she's just trying to bolster her 'brand' as you should have noticed, her 'paid speaking tour' ran off the cliff!! She's beating the drum in the hopes she can drum up some 'paid speaking events'. You know the greed of the 'Grifter'.

I recall reading she charged Nicky Haley for her to appear. Wouldn't put it past Palin. Elections coming up so she's striking out where she thinks she can while it's 'hot' in her mind, as when she says she's not -- it's going to be hard to bolster donations for her PAC.

  11. I remember when I was a kid I tried to juggle. I threw three things into the air, and as precisely as I could, executed the exact technique I saw on TV. Much to my astonishment, it didn't work. My birds couldn't fly. They crashed chaotically around me, as if they wished to escape each other. On TV, they bobbled up and down in perfect formation, much like you would expect if they had been trained in the military or were members of marching band; but they didn’t cooperate for me. Obviously I was doing something wrong.

Immediately discouraged, I put the items down and did not try again for a long time.

The next time I tried. It didn't work. Lacking the discipline to stick with it, I again put the items away.

I repeated this recipe for failure over and over again in my childhood.

One day, I suddenly knew how to juggle.

    It's crazy!

I occasionally venture over to C for P. I'm continually amazed by their collective delusion. I honestly try to put myself in their position and I just can't do it.

Sure, in 2008 during the primaries, I was trying to read the tea leaves and make forecasts like "If Obama wins this primary and does well in that one, then..." But as much as admire, respect and, OK, I'll admit it, love the President, I'm not now (and never have been) obsessed the way they are.

There's a phrase in French, folie a deux, which is roughly translated as insanity shared by two. Wikipedia calls it a “shared psychosis” and defines it as a[1] psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief are transmitted from one individual to another. The same syndrome shared by more than two people may be called folie à trois, folie à quatre, folie en famille or even folie à plusieurs ("madness of many"). Folie à plusieurs seems to describe the people over there perfectly.

I’m beginning to think that because her supporters are so delusional and because she has led them along for so long, she has to run. She has gone too far with the teasing. After all this stringing along, she has to say she’s running so as not to lose face with them. She’ll declare and then come up with some plausible (to the ‘bots), dramatic reason for stopping her campaign. On the one hand, she can’t not run, but on the other, she lacks the perseverance to finish. Unlike her slightly less crazy counterpart, SP does not have a titanium spine.

Honestly, I can say at this point, that whether she runs or not, it's too late. She is seen as a dilly-dallier, indecisive. What's so hard to figure out? It's not like she's had a real job to do in this time frame--like GOVERNOR OF THE STATE. Her base has diminished so much. How many old racist white men are there in the US? Not enough to elect a crazy secessionist middle-aged granny with anorexia and bipolar disorder...

I don't know, Gryphen. Sarah thinks God has opened the door for her to run. I don't think she can say no to God. Or to her fans. I think she will run, and when things get tough, she will play the victim card and pull out. If she doesn't enter the race now, she knows she will lose all credibility and her celebrityhood.

  18. Kim Kardashian is famous ONLY for being PEED ON IN A SEX TAPE, yet her stunt wedding was called the equivalent of the "Royal Wedding"?

There is no amount of celebrity that will ever be too gaudy for America.

Just as sad little Sarah Palin thought Ivana Trump was the Epitome of CLASS, well, there are just as many sad little Sarah Palins out there who look to the loser grandmother to show them "how to be".

I'm wondering more and more about Sarah's mom. It doesn't seem like women were valued very much in the Heath household; they certainly didn't seem to be appreciated for their "femininity".

I think Chuck was a serious, well, "male-chauvinist" is all I can come up with. I get the impression he ruled the house, Sally's opinions weren't as important as his, and sports were put on a "holy" level b/c he loved them - so Sarah HAD to not only participate, but REALLY do SOMETHING to stand out, even to her Dad.

I bet that Heath household was a messed up place to grow up.

If she can find a way to be able to keep the idiots contributing to her and not have to forfeit the PAC money, she will announce that she is running. Then after a certain amount of time passes(which will be related to money coming in or going out)she will announce grandly that she has decided to withdraw because LSM is picking on her or more likely, she will manufacture some excuse that she thinks makes her look altruistic. I will guarantee that if she does plan to announce, she already has the excuse to withdraw set up and ready.

She's had plenty enough time to blink, reload, whatever. There's been too much build-up and anticipation for this event to fizzle out with another non-announcement. Her bots are tired of waiting and blind faith in Sarah's brilliant strategy is wearing thin. She says she doesn't want to string them on, but that's exactly what she's doing. Hell, they have to read her toe-nail polish to try to figure out what she's up to. Nope, not running, and will use the Christy excuse. She is not going to give up her family's financial well-being for a failed presidential run. The best way for her to save face and fans is to announce that she's not running before her Sept. 3rd rally. Well, maybe not. I am not sure that the phrase with which you lead this story was actually said by Albert Einstein.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
    ▪ Misattributed to various people, including Albert Einstein and Mark Twain. The earliest known occurrence, and probable origin is Rita Mae Brown, Sudden Death (Bantam Books, New York, 1983), p. 68." Wikipedia

    http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Benjamin_Franklin#Attributed

    Rita Mae Brown:

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

Variant: "Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results". Narcotics Anonymous

The variant appeared in a published work, Narcotics Anonymous, known as "the basic text", published in 1982 shortly before Sudden Death and had appeared in print in the approval version of the work widely distributed within the NA fellowship in 1981.

Note: This same quote, or "The definition of insanity is...," has also been variously attributed to Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and an old Chinese proverb, but this is its first known appearance in print.

    Back to a recent story.

Interesting post at Wickersham's Conscience. Commentary and analysis concerning the legality of the City Council meeting in executive (secret) session to discuss the Menard situation.

    http://wickershamsconscience.wordpress.com/2011/08/21/tales-from-wasilla-steve-menard/

Secret meetings are strongly disfavored under Alaska law. By Alaska Statute, city council meetings are to “be taken openly and that their deliberations be conducted openly.” The grounds for executive session – secret meetings – are narrow and are to be narrowly applied.

First go read the entire post at Wickersham's Conscience.

Another item to consider is the statement apparently made by Menard's fellow councilwoman Taffina Katkus at the mayoral candidates forum:

"Katkus also said the city needs professional leadership.

“We need more thinking and less drinking,” she said."

This statement appeared in the Frontiersman's report of the Wasilla Greater Chamber of Commerce mayoral candidates forum held August 2, 2011. Which was prior to the Sitka incident.

    http://www.frontiersman.com/articles/2011/08/05/local_news/doc4e3b8a72417f5408162017.txt

The three candidates present at the forum were Taffina Katkus and Diane Wodruff, who both currently serve on the council, and current mayor Verne Rupright. Was the statement by Katkus the subject of any further discussion at the forum? Had something involving the City of Wasilla happened concerning either a lack of thinking or too much drinking PRIOR to the Sitka incident?

Tsk, tsk, tsk, Gryph. You've spent all this time studying Sarah Palin and you still underestimate her. She ain't never turnin' loose the suckers. They're her gravy train.

Thanks to the Borders bookstore closeout I was able to buy Frank Bailey's book today for a price I was willing to pay instead of waiting for it to show up at my favorite used bookstore. You should glance at the part about her "half a shoestring" run for governor again. That experience will be the starting point for her campaign, except that this time she'll be above and separated from the blood, sweat and tears her volunteers will shed. The experience will bond those people to her even more. When she inevitably drops out she will announce that this campaign was just the foundation for a bigger and better campaign next time.

At this point she pretty much has to run. If she doesn't it would be the end of her politically. She doesn't have nearly enough money to live in the style to which she wishes to remain accustomed. I don't think she's ready for the daily grind of reality TV. Whatever gets thrown at her she'll follow her standard operating procedure. Play the victim card and keep rolling.

Then McGuiness book comes out and she qill quit cause Tri-G will eed he ror some such shit....and the gates will come a spillin out. No wories for former predisential hopeful Sarah Palin. She will be on QVC and doing the mega -church circuit for the rest of her days, if she can survive the cognitive dissonance of all her gates being exposed.
The thing is, any and all sins are forgiven in Sarah's fundie narcissistic mind. All she has to to is forgive herself and all is good.

Just hopped over to Scribed website and the scans look real. I'll bet the family knives and forks that Noodnick's IQ is scads higher than the vast majority of her drooling minions. Unfortunately, this makes Grifterella better able to "lead" (and pick the pockets of) this small army of freaks as they try to push their savior into the WH. I think there'll be a Bot meltdown either way: if she doesn't announce; or if she does, and isn't "crowned" POTUS. Weren't some of these thoughtful, caring citizens yakking about a Civil War at one point?

I predict she won't run, she will get fake sick suddenly and have to visit the doctor or hospital.

Her sickness (fake again) will be her excuse to not run and then she will have a miraculous recovery, then be able to get out and make money by trashing Obama. Koch or someone will continue funding her for hate speeches against President Obama.

That shirt is disturbing because it says:
I dress like my pre-teen daughters.

The look on her face is that of a nutter. So energized by her own INNER CRAZY that she cannot help but make stupid faces while in public.

The irony of it all is:

...once Sarah Palin has gotten all of their money, her supporters will be without any social programs to support them - no Social Security, no Medicare, no food stamps - because Sarah, and her ilk, want to eliminate such programs.

...all so that the Koch brothers and the Walton family pay a couple fewer pennies in taxes.

    Crazy...

As long as she's still employed by Faux she's not doing anything. Once she's resigned, I might start drinking some of this kool-aid that is floating around..

Sarah will run for a few days, a couple of weeks or a month then announce she will quit for the good of her family and after then FOX will always introduce her as Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. That's all she wants.

The timing has to be just right so that between the time she announces she is running and the time she quits that there will be no debates between that time period.

There is no way Sarah will carry this charade through a debate.

There really is no room for her with Bachmann and Whorehouse Perry.
They both have good money support, both flaunt their ignorance of Christianity. And both appeal to really ignr'nt voters.

Notice how well-to-do-Yankee Bachmann is increasingly tawkin' like what she thinks corntree people talk like.

Incidentally hardly any body in Texas talks like W Perry.

    Except Bush.

There are indeed some dozen or more versions (mine is North Central Texas nasal twang and is unique to about a dozen counties north of Dallas and Ft. Worth) of Texas accent that are, in very rural areas, especially SE Texas, extremely marked. But nobody talks as hokey stupid as W. Perry and Bush. Especially successful business men who hand out in large urban areas.

Well Sarah probably would sound that hokey if she could figure out how, she does try though.

If they continue to succeed she has no slot available, and no body in their right mind would pick her as their VP running mate.

Though I think her and Herman Cain would be tres amusmant to watch.

They still haven't gotten over the Civil War (aka "War of Northern Agression" 1861 to 1865)- see Nathan Bedford Forrest license plates.

Are you seriously suggesting that Northern, rural, very conservative Great Plains and Midwestern states still haven't gotten over the War of Northern Agression [sic]?
As in they were part of the Confederates States of America?

I take the point that you are making but rural, racist and bigoted is not restricted to the states that seceded.
Neither is racist and bigoted unknown is the streets of LA, Chicago, NY, Boston, Philadelphia ...
And Remember the North kept their slaves.
