Alaska's richest man blasts Sarah Palin for double crosssing her fellow Alaskans. Update!

Courtesy of the National Enquirer:

Alaska’s richest man is blasting Sarah Palin for failing to avert a potentially devastating environmental disaster in the state she once governed – and now he wants ENQUIRER readers’ help to get the job done!

In an exclusive interview, Bob Gillam, founder of McKinley Capital Management and a staunch environmentalist, alleged that a foreign mining venture called Pebble Mine in Alaska’s pristine Bristol Bay is believed to be threatening the habitat of the salmon-filled natural wonder.

“Sarah double-crossed us,” he says.

“When she was governor, Sarah told me on more than one occasion her daughter Bristol was named after Bristol Bay and she would never do anything to hurt the area, especially since she had a salmon fishing permit herself,” said Gillam.

The benevolent billionaire fears the toxic waste from the site could leak into the water after one of Alaska’s regular earthquakes, killing half of the world’s wild salmon. The pink-fleshed fish is the dietary staple of the more than 15,000 aboriginal Alaskans who live around the bay.

The residents of our state are STILL feeling the aftershocks of Palin's time as our Governor.

That bullshit movie put out by Steve Bannon notwithstanding, REAL Alaskans know she was devastating to our state's reputation, its people, and possibly even our future.

You might believe that my last point is mere hyperbole, but if the plans for the Pebble Mine are allowed to move forward, for many Alaskans living off the waters of Bristol Bay that is EXACTLY what her legacy will mean to their way of life.

And don't think for a moment that the blame for this ecosystem killing disaster does not rest completely on the Grizzled Mama's shoulders, because it does.

This from a report written by environmentalist Bill Sherwonit explains how hard our half term Governor pushed for this project:

Pebble Mine opponents hoped to cripple the project with Measure 4, which would have strictly limited the pollutants that metal mines could discharge into streams and drinking water. But the mining interests’ massive advertising campaign successfully painted Measure 4 as an extreme initiative that threatened the state’s mining industry and its 5,500 jobs. In addition to speaking out against the measure and allowing her image to be used in mining industry advertisements, Gov. Palin also allowed her Department of Natural Resources to promote a “no” vote on its Web site. The Alaska Public Offices Commission later ordered the department to take down its statement of support. Palin’s critics said her involvement in the ballot measure was a misuse of her power and violated the spirit of the constitutional ban prohibiting state officials from getting involved in citizen initiatives.

This is just part of the deadly legacy that Sarah Palin left the people of Alaska. Just as she left the city of Wasilla 20 million dollars in debt after serving as the worst mayor they ever had.

You may still be able to find a few people in the lower forty eight who still believe Palin's lies, but in Alaska we learned who she was the hard way. And it is a lesson that we are helping to teach others before it is too late.

Thankfully, it appears they have been listening.

Update: Somebody asked how we can help.  Here you go:

HOW YOU CAN HELP: ENQUIRER readers wishing to speak out can write the Renewable Resources Coalition at 605 West 2nd Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501, or e-mail info@renewable resourcescoalition.org. Alaskan Governor Sean Parnell can be reached at: Governor Sean Parnell, P.O. Box 110001, Juneau, AK 99811-0001. E-mail: sean.parnell@alaska.gov.

Facts about the real Sarah Palin from her victims are beginning to hit the fan! It's about bloody time!

And, yesterday, yet another reasonable Post on Sarah's Facebook was deleted within minutes. It was a link to Dunn's castigation of the NY Times' review of Joe McGinnis' The Rogue.

Business as usual for her. But her followers are starting to question her...will they turn on her with the same viciousness as she displays?

Years from now, some intrepid journalist is going to write the expose about the forces behind Sara Palin that thrust her first into a position as Mayor of a small corrupt town in AK, then on to governor of same state and then onto the national stage. Early on an influential group of people saw the sexual energy she created in the political arena and capitalized on it to the detriment of the American people. It will be sobering the it might even get the MSM to actually acknowledge what it was the people behind her had on them to keep their mouths shut. As he power grew she actually grew her own group of thugs to engage in reprisals against the people she thought were enemies. It went out of control of course and it's being seen now in her proclamations she doesn't have the be shackled to the title of President because in her mind she actually believes she is bigger than that job. I'm sure she's more pissed at Bill-O for saying he was more powerful than anyone other than POTUS because I'm pretty certain in her drug addled mentally ill world she thinks the entire population actually is waiting on bated breath for her to step up and be anointed President after all the other candidates fall by the wayside. Her illness has no boundaries of absurdity

Follow the money. Palin is bought and sold to the highest bidder and she used her position as gov to sell Pebble so who paid her off? Think about it - for example, someone like the Koch Brothers pay her to push the mine, then they use their connections to help push palin to get on the vp ticket. Power, money and an useless tool. Follow the money back to the beginning of the campaign. Palin was bought and the people of Alaska were sold down the river of crap.

  12. I knew that Pebble Mine was a bad idea, especially because of Alaska's frequent and sizable earthquakes. I haven't followed this story much, and am glad you highlighted Palin's involvement in purposely degrading the beauty of Alaska she claims to love.

Alaska truly is the last frontier where clean air, wildlife and natural beauty is bountiful (only downside are the mosquitos). I hope that most Alaskans are waking up to the irreparable damage Pebble Mine would cause, and I hope Dems up there continue to remind Alaskans of Palin's toxic legacy.

We know so much today about how crooked Sarah and Todd Palin really are it would not surprise me that:

    A) The Palins were paid off for the foreign mining venture called Pebble Mine in Alaska’s pristine Bristol Bay.

    B) The Palins were paid off when they awarded the hockey rink to that construction company. Its a miracle the Palins built a two story house about that time with Todd and a couple of no name buddies with no inspections or plans. How ironic that materials used to build their new 2 story house is similar to the building material used to build the hockey rink.

BREAKING!!! Joe McGinniss' book to debut at #10 on NY Times bestseller list!

I was in a Target store, this morning, and saw Joe McGinniss' book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” on the bestseller, nonfiction shelves. I thought about driving back with a camera, but thought, "Nah, why burn a gallon of gas?"

No matter! Salon's Dave Weigel has posted "Palin Book Round-Up: McGinniss Sells, Johnston Flops," in which he writes, "Now that the books have been out for a week, we have a better idea of how they're selling. According to the New York Times's books reporter Julie Bosman, The Rogue will debut at #10 on the paper's nonfiction list, making it McGinniss's first bestseller in more than a decade. According to Nielsen BookScan, McGinniss moved 6,000 copies in the first week."

Then there was the other time when the two Mavericks lost to an African American for "TITLE" of Leader of the Free World.

Depopulation (a concept I just learned): kill off the expendable folks, like the natives who live from salmon. Same as "cut off the benefits" (SS, Medicaid, etc.) so our most vulnerable can die off faster.

Doesn't matter if humans wreck the earth: just as climate change is not believed by SP, the toxic effects of mining are no problem either. God will fix it.

Author Joe McGinniss says some of the people quoted by name in his controversial book on Sarah Palin have been threatened since its release last week.

"A couple of them have already gotten some blowback," McGinniss said Thursday in a telephone interview from Toronto, where he was in town promoting "The Rogue: Searching For The Real Sarah Palin."

"One guy was even told he'd better watch his back because it's going to be a long winter; he might not see the end of it because he has such a big mouth."

After months spent fending off similar threats when he moved next door to the former Alaska governor last year while researching the book in Wasilla, Alaska, McGinniss suspects Todd Palin and his pals.

"Todd really is a bully," he alleges with a sigh.

Indeed, allegations about the vindictive, strong-arm tactics of Palin and her coterie of protectors, husband Todd in particular, are a central theme of "The Rogue," a tawdry, gossipy and sometimes side-splittingly funny book delving into the "Jerry Springer" nature of Alaska's most notorious political family.

I recall when the backers of Measure 4 used GINO Palin's big smiling face in their advertising blitz -- and when $he was confronted about it, the Quitter said she had "no idea" they were going to use her image in their anti-clean water campaign. (I'm sure there are copies of all the mailers around somewhere.)

Just like $he lied on FOX the other night saying she had "no idea" about the letter that recently went out asking for donations to her vacation fund, er, PAC.

Palin is such a pathological liar, she doesn't know when she's lying, or that it is so easy to follow up on her lies with today's techno-media.

Has anyone ever followed the money ,comparing their purchases with their income? It is obvious that they got money from somewhere. IRS???Hello??

    An important ALERT to America:

Most Americans are not aware of Christian Reconstructionists or Dominionism, but they should be. The problem is not necessarily all Christians, but given the choice of supporting the Constitution or the bible, there are few Christians who will opt for the Constitution. There is nothing as dangerous as religious frenzy and although the religious right has been involved in the government since Reagan gave them a voice, they are making progress towards establishing a theocracy. It is important to remember that not all Germans were anti-Semites, but as the movement gained momentum and nationalism became intertwined with Hitler’s final solution, it was not long before exterminating Jews became a national movement. The fanatics in the Dominionist movement are having success with the notion that America was founded as a Christian nation, and with support from groups like the tea party that dreams of collapsing the government to reshape it into a Christian, family-values theocracy, a religious takeover could happen before decent Americans knew what hit them.

The question still remains; where are the Christian voices who are not fanatical extremists? Apparently, they either condone a theocratic takeover by Dominionists or they are too frightened to speak out against the fundamentalist threat. Now that nearly all of the Republican presidential contenders are unapologetic Christians who tout their faith as a positive attribute, the threat is more credible than ever. However, there is a dysfunctional belief in this country among most of the population that Christians are basically good folk who can do no harm and it plays a role in helping Dominionists reach their goal. It is a goal of the bible as the rule of law and an Inquisition to root out non-believers for punitive regulation and the first victims will be those who are speaking out and attempting to warn Americans that democracy is finished unless the Dominionists are stopped. It may be unbelievable, but just ask people who face death threats from Christians every day.

This is exactly what Sarah Palin has been up to her jug ears with since she was in high school. The entire article is enough to really scare the sh*t out of you.

The Wooten/Trig Connection - By Prof. Brad Scharlott

...But the venom Sarah and Todd exhibited for Wooten does suggest something deeper. They were engaged in a campaign to get him fired, and if they succeeded, that might have actually hurt Molly and her kids, because without a job Wooten would not be able to pay child support.

Whatever it was that caused that hatred may have precipitated the divorce, and whatever it was may have continued after the divorce. But whatever that something was that inspired Sarah’s hatred, I don’t feel comfortable speculating out loud about it. But it does make me want to do more digging.

As to whether Wooten and Trig might be related, keep in mind there’s more than one way that could happen.

I’m one of his biggest fans and I would never dismiss him or speak negatively about him. I’m saying in this fast [moving], 24/7 news cycle that is our world today that the media does have to gin up some controversy and intrigue so viewers tune in and there’s a lot of competition in the media world in this quasi-reality show it seems that’s being created in the GOP primary. One of the video's co-stars, former Governor Palin, is perhaps best known in Alaska for abandoning her state after being blinded by the bright lights of national office. While our Governor enjoys the spotlight, people here in New Jersey are struggling to find jobs and make ends meet.

Allowing mining of this type in an area prone to severe earthquakes, an area that not only provides drinking water for the people of Alaska, but also is the source for HALF of the world's salmon supply???? And all just for a little political payola??? What a legacy for the half-term governor to leave behind for her 'beloved' state. I put 'beloved' in quotes, since she obviously doesn't give a damn about her state or the people living in it, even, seemingly, including her own children.

Once you poison drinking water with cadmium, lead, and mercury – all by-products from gold-mining – there isn't any recourse. Once your drinking water supply is poisoned, it's poisoned. You can't "chlorine" it out: those heavy metals are there to stay. They are all carcinogenic, they are all lethal. Question: will Sarah herself half to drink this same water? I didn't think so.

Another Palin Maladministration disaster. Were these mine promoters giving Todd helicopter rides? They weren't giving "gifts" to the Palin family and people supposedly working for the state? I can't remember.

    Here is a Question:
How's the month of September 2011 been goin fer ya Cuckoopuff? Here are a few highlights that I remember.

It all started out with a mute appearance (and I think she looked sick too) among the droolers and paint chip eaters.

Second Place medal! She's runnin'!! It's leaked on Fox News by her BFF Greta. That crow must taste BAD- she hasn't bragged about it since the questions started.
Go to OzMud for the details of how this run was probably faked, just like most all of her so called accomplishments.

More awesomeness from our Canadian media. They actually LISTEN. And Joe handles things really well.

Joe McGinniss joined us from Toronto to talk about the book.

    Spot On!

The sexualized "MILF-Cult" that the Fox/Rethugical/teaBagger Bots have bought into, has failed. At least Version 1 has failed.

V2, unfortunately is on the Koch Bros drawing board, where any business worth it's salt dissects the first test marketing of a new prototype and sends it to market on a test drive.

If it works ( and V1 RARELY does), then you analyze the failure and work to make V2 better.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I have a tendency to live at 100,00 feet too often.

Anon @ 5:34, that is utter bullshit to say that most Christians would "opt for the Bible" rather than the Constitution. I am completely offended by this misrepresentation of my faith. There are in fact very few who who do not fully support the notion of Separation of Church and State. Check the stats on fundamentalist Christian groups, those that might be more inclined to think dogmatically. Very small percentage of Christians.

What crappy essay is this from anyway - by a "secular humanist" with the handle Rmuse? Why is his posting being presented here being as in any way informed or authoritative?

Stop posting this prejudiced junk. It's written by someone who is ignorant. If I didn't know better, I'd say folks are coming around here to stir up trouble again.

Asking someone like me, a moderate Christian, to gain a national platform where I can decry the activities of a tiny fanatical group showing the barest of resemblance to my own Christian community, is like asking all the many moderate Muslims in the world to make you feel better about them through some act of disavowal of Al Qaeda - something that would satisfy you, that is. It isn't humanly possible, any more than it would be possible for your voice to rise up above the noise of everyday life and web activity and constant media inundation, etc.

People like us work hard to show what our particular religious practices are truly about, for the people with whom we come into contact on a daily basis. We may make comments on websites, also, or process our own thoughts and share them with others in any variety of ways. We may participate in meaningful dialogue with other groups or contribute to demonstrations or lectures on this topic. Sorry if that kind of thing isn't high profile enough or doesn't always reach people like Rmuse.

Kinda wonder what cave he is living in, actually.

There are plenty of progressive religious people all over this globe. Those who aren't into religion need to learn that they can live in whatever way they chose, but they need to stop being paranoid and they need to leave us alone.

Don't start up about how we Christians are hoping to take over the world or that you feel it's your duty to sound the alarms about the growing cancer. It's just like the straw man "Caliphate" threat that FOX news loves to throw out at every opportunity about Islam. I don't think Muslims are trying to take over the world, either.

Like I said, just stirring up trouble to get people off topic...

Look for "Sarah V2" to be rolled out shortly after the 2012 elections.

Wide open field in 2016 after 2 term President Obama!

Good news, it's NOT going to be Trigs Grandmother running, nor will it be Crazy Eyes from MN 06! (Shout out to the UnOfficial TeaBagger Capital of the US!)

No, my good and intelligent IMers, (Thanx Gryphen for creating this tribe!) it will be the latest, greatest, sexiest, under 50, white female the ReThugs can deliver.

Christine, O 'Donnell, Michele Bachmann, and the worst of the worst...Trigs Grandma are just V1 test subjects.

(Sharon Angle was a V1 test, but THAT particular experiment was contaminated! They don't talk about that at Koch HQ)

AgaiN, living in 2013 at 100,000 feet...just sayin...

Is this really where the right has gone?

McGinniss book about Palin: yet another attack on America (Lloyd Marcus)

"The Joe McGinniss Sarah Palin book "The Rogue" is the left's latest hate letter to God-fearing patriotic Americans. Make no mistake about it, folks. The McGinniss attack, along with the other numerous attacks on Sarah Palin, is really about attacking you — mainstream Americans with traditional values.

Since her extraordinary, upbeat VP nominee acceptance speech in 2008, I have wondered: What did Palin specifically say to prompt such immediate visceral hatred from the left? I have come to realize the answer is her celebration of God, family, and country.

How dare Palin praise traditional marriage, motherhood, Christianity, and American exceptionalism — all of which are anathema to the left. Thus, the left's hatred of Palin is really hatred of mainstream America, particularly tea party patriots.

That is it in a nutshell and explains why the left so desperately seeks to destroy Palin. They hate America and all who love our extraordinary country."

There's more. I only included the first few paragraphs.

Follow the money? Perhaps start with the owners of one of those wilderness tracts she and Todd "bought" - Clyde Treybig (Doyon/Nabors)(his wife is Denyce Treybig, also involved with mining/oil industry) and see where that gets you.

Might be something, might be nothing.

    Little BigHair is trash.

    Mama Grifter trashes the bay.

In a Mama Grifter sort of way, it makes sense. And all kidding aside, this is what just about any fundie in politics is going to do. Why bother with protecting the environment when Rapture is just around the corner?
