Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

From Palin to Perry: The GOP Shifts From Sexual Spark to Empty Machismo
ReplyDeleteIf Palin was on the McCain ticket for her sizzle, Perry might be on the next ticket for his faux cowboy image, just four years after the last Texan in a cowboy hat.
the utter collapse of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.). Somehow, in a state chock full of tea party groups, Bachmann finished dead last, with 1.5 percent of the vote. Once a frontrunner in early GOP presidential polls, Bachmann has sunk so far, so fast that even moderate Jon Huntsman, the former governor of Utah, and former House speaker Newt Gingrich, whose campaign imploded months ago, placed higher than her. It's all unraveling for Michele.
Bachmann has been in free fall for weeks. She's barely registered in the past three presidential debates, outshone and outslugged by Perry and Romney. And when Bachmann did put points on the board by highlighting Perry's ties to pharmaceutical giant Merck as an underlying factor in his ill-fated human papilloma virus vaccination mandate, she overshadowed those remarks by suggesting soon after that the HPV vaccine causes mental retardation. (It absolutely does not.) The public and the pundits quickly forgot about Bachmann's Merck comments as she doubled down her vaccine-retardation claim. Later, a former campaign adviser ripped her for making the claim in the first place.
That adviser, veteran GOP strategist Ed Rollins, said Bachmann's chances of claiming the nomination are slim. Although she has a shot at winning the Iowa caucuses—she did, of course, win the Iowa Straw Poll in August—Rollins said Bachmann lacks the "resources or ability at this point in time" to challenge for the nomination after Iowa. Her last-place finish in Florida raises questions about whether even winning Iowa is realistic for Bachmann, especially given Rick Perry's support among the social conservatives who dominate the GOP in the Hawkeye State.

Rich Silicon Valley Man Begs Obama To Raise His Taxes, Please (VIDEO)
ReplyDeleteAn unidentified man who made a killing in Silicon Valley implored President Obama to "please raise my taxes" at a LinkedIn Townhall event Monday.
"Mr. President. I don't have a job, but that is because I have been lucky enough to live in Silicon Valley for a while and work for a small startup company down the street who did quite well," he said. "So, I am unemployed by choice. My question is -- would you please raise my taxes?"
The question drew stunned laughter and then applause from the small audience.
"I would like very much to have the country to continue to invest in things like Pell grants and infrastructure and jobs training programs that made it possible for me to get to where I am," he said.
The man, who would only say that he had worked for "a search engine" and is "unemployed by choice," said "it kills me" for Congress not to allow of Bush tax cuts to expire, noting that he hopes "that will change."

Funny video!
ReplyDeleteAs to Bachmann and she-who-should-not-be-named, let's be honest: the big boys in the GOP/TP were never going to let female candidates get to the highest office. First, they cultivate the prettiest and the dumbest to generate buzz, then they let them tank or help push them down. The GOP/TP (and the Libertarians for that matter) don't cultivate and run competent females. Well, they no longer cultivate and run competent males either, but their anti-female theme is too obvious in their policies for the country and their inner party workings.
BTW, I want to push home the point that Libertarians are truly lagging behind in producing females for top offices. Wonder why that is?
Most intelligent women are Democrats or Independents leaning towards progressive policies. There is a long line of competent women on the progressive side who run for and achieve office - though none have yet to break the final political glass ceiling (but it is coming --- look to women like Elizabeth Warren and younger women who will keep rising to the top).
Herman wants to talk about options? Sodomy by-product Santorum also too?
ReplyDeleteHow about we impose forced chemical castrations on unmarried men or men married to post-menopausal women?
I'm serious folks, the first 501(c)3 to go Koch-like against men's reproductive rights gets a donation from me.
Funny writing on this one.

Sorry this is O/T. I can't remember where the fundraising post was. Here is a comparison for Pres. Obama and GOP candidates.

I hope Palin sues; she thinks she's made of teflon, when she's really made of superglue brewed by her vat of venomous, hateful lies. Just desserts to her.

O/T: But $arah wants to sue McGinniss:
ReplyDeletehttp://bigjournalism.com/pjsalvatore/2011/09/26/breaking-gov-sarah-palin-sends-letter-to-crownrandom-house-warns-not-to-destroy-documents-ahead-of-potential-defamation-suit/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BigJournalism+%28Big+Journalism%29
Uh, Gryph, C4P says Sarah's atty. is sending out letters and may sue. Boy, Joe sure is gonna benefit from this publicity. Everybody's gonna wonder what was in the book now. Hang in there, Joe, she probably wants to use this as an excuse not to run. Come on, Fred, get your book out! We got her on the defense now! Run, Sarah, Run! And Game On! WOO-HOO!
ReplyDeleteShe's threatening to sue the publisher but she won't go through with it, discovery would be far more damaging to her reputation than any book.
ReplyDeleteNotice she didn't go after McGinnis - this is an effort to prevent publishers from being comfortable with her as a subject, and I think it is specifically targeted to prevent "Fred" from being able to get a publisher.
With her being a public figure she would have to prove malice on the part of the defendants. This is a P.R. stunt on her behalf.
ReplyDeleteOn the upside if she did file suit she and Todd would be deposed, would have to release medical records. It would be a hoot!
Time for a brazillian wax or a trim, just sayin!
ReplyDeleteVery funny stuff!
