Everything you need to know about the Teabaggers is represented by this pathetic excuse for a human being, Tony Katz. Update.

There was an exchange on MSNBC earlier today between this bloated piece of shit and Jamal Simmons in response to these statements by Teamster President James Hoffa directed toward the Tea Party:

“President Obama, this is your army,” Hoffa concluded to applause, his voice raising to a shout. “We are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he said, stepping back from the lectern where President Obama would speak less than an hour later.

“There’s a war on working Americans and we are getting sick and tired of it,” Hoffa told ABC News Tuesday morning. “It’s absolutely a war. They declared war on us. We didn’t declare war on them. They’re the ones that introduced right to work in 14 states, and went after public employee bargaining rights in both Wisconsin and Ohio. We’re fighting them across the board. They want to roll the clock back to about 1900.”

Now this is video of what Katz said about Hoffa, the Democrats, and President Obama. I am going to warn you ahead of time that he is an especially nasty piece of work, and what he said literally had me shouting at the television and wanting DESPERATELY to be in the same room with him for just five uninterrupted minutes.

That, my friends, is the face of the Tea Party in this country. THAT is the kind of sloppy, porcine piece of human excrement that is given a platform on our airwaves to attack our President.

I mean for God's sake Gandhi himself would have punched that guy in the throat!

Update: Here is Hoffa's FULL quote:

President Obama this is your army. We are ready to march. And president Obama we want one thing: Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. That's what we’re going to tell him. He’s going to be - and when he sees what we’re doing here he will be inspired. But he needs help and you know what? Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these sons of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

I am sorry, I thought everybody knew that Hoffa was talking about voting the Teabaggers out. I will make sure to be more clear in the future.

I can't watch it. I trust you. These people from the Tea Party are absolutely vicious. Imo, they are evil, or perhaps I should say they are succumbing to evil.

Light against the darkness, truth against lies, love against hatred or absence of compassion and mercy towards our fellow man.

    We will fight on.

It's very important to not fall into the same trap that has the right agitated -- selectively quoting Mr. Hoffa.

Here's a piece of it from Steve Benen at the Washington Monthly (which should be on every progressive's must-read blog list):

"And here’s the context of the quote:

“Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!”

In other words, he was talking about voting. This was not a call to violence — Hoffa wants to take the far-right politicians out of office, not out of existence."

Here's a link to his bit about this issue:

Please update your quote! Several news sources are not using the full quote, and you have referenced one of them.

The full quote is as follows:

"President Obama this is your army. If this had been a Tea rally, when Palin called for them to 'reload,' we would have seen guns raised in the air. And Fox would have cheered. When we see posters calling for the hanging of the President, Fox smiles. When we see people shooting others, they try to blame it on the left. Sorry, guys, the right is the side with the fixation on weapons. was Hoffa's language strong? Of course. We are in a battle for our rights, our Constitution, and our country. Will we take up arms? No, but the right is certainly ready to do that, and they get a pass. Time and time again.

  7. Tony Katz is certainly obnoxious. Right after asking the host for examples of extreme rightwing rhetoric, he says "Dems hate Obama; Obama is Kenyan for Rodney Dangerfield." That statement could only appeal to rightwing extremists; any reasonable person would say WTF? Katz only said it so he could slip "Kenya" into his response.

Katz' point is that "Dems hate Obama." Of course that's ridiculous; most AMERICANS (NBC/Wall St Journal poll: 70%) LIKE Obama. It's annoying that the "professional left" attack POTUS' perceived weaknesses, instead of doing what they should be doing: uncovering the insidious erosion of the middle class at the direction of the GOP.

And Romney (the "reasonable" Republican) has the gall to label the last two years of GWBush's adm. as the "Obama recovery."

All GOP candidates lie, and the complacent MSM don't see is as their responsibility to correct GOP lies. MSM who don't correct these lies are contributing to dismantling the US middle class.

These "reporters" need to get some balls and start taking control of their "interviews". Cut the asshole off. That's what Laurence O'Donnell did with that Orly Taitz chick. It was pretty awesome.

David Gregory AND The old dude on Sunday Mornings gave Michelle Bachmann Complete Free Passes in their interviews with her. She recited all of her talking points, again, and again, and again, without answering a single question.

I wonder if the station manager didn't give the green light to Tony Katz, knowing that his obnoxious rudeness would put the T-party in the worst possible light.

I think that Katz was trying to channel Bill O'Reilly.. talking loudly over the host, and insulting the president by name-calling. Elementary school stuff; not even high school debate standards.

I also noticed that he is doing a lot of projecting. It is not the Democratic Party that is "imploding" - the Republicans are a mess, and fighting like cats and dogs behind the scenes.

What the heck is in the tea? I do love the look on the reporters face when the tea party guy told him to show him the language. If that was not a WTF look i don't know what it was. These people are seriously deluded and if we don't get ourselves sorted out quick this country is going to go backwards quick.

That quote was edited by Fox

"HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!"

He is talking about the battle of the ballot.

The WH PR guy and Obama have weenied out of supporting their voters again.
    Check out Democratic Underground.

Obama could have used this reference to the power of the vote to use Hoffa's quote as a teaching moment and to acknowledge America's working class.
    He didn't.

So now the Republicans will have unfettered rights to use this misquote till hell freezes over because Obama failed again to be the leader of his own party, to stand behind the people who put him into office, or even to stand up for the office or himself.

Obama and his spokes man just put a stick into the hands of Rush, Beck and all of Fox along with the entire Republican party, which they will used to beat those of us who believe in Democracy to a bloody pulp, And Obama could have stopped this within an hour of Fox release the edited video.

He didn't because he chose not to. He chose to enable Fox in their misrepresentation.

I lasted a little over 2 minutes and that was enough. Tony insisted that others let him finish and then immediately interrupted the moderator as well as the other panelist. That's all you need to know about him -- all talk and no listen because facts won't affect his closed mind.

Because of guys like Tony Katz, I am walking in the Labor Day Parade in Manhattan this Saturday, Sept. 10.

I will be there on my own time and my own dime. Go Teamsters. Hoffa was right, maybe he was even referring to Katz, and no it wasn't a threat, he meant through an election.

You won't be surprised to recall that this...man, I guess you could call him?...was a warm up act for Palin's flop of a speech in Iowa. He had a cigar in his hand like he thought he was some kind of bigshot.

Anyway, this video was very instructive. He definitely did not want the Tea Party called out and defined as the opposition to Labor. Good to know they fear that.

    Just a hint.
If I have other sources for the same story, I wouldn't use ABC news.
They are doing the same thing that Fox does,i.e. not quoting Hoffa in full in order to mislead readers.

Remember, ABC is Palin's favorite channel beside Fox news.

I don't have tv anymore, but don't the stations come along after something like that and set the records straight, along the lines of "Hoffa was misquoted; what he actually said was....." like the newspaper does?

Maybe I live too far out in the sticks but I would expect no less of a big tv station than of my hometown paper.

Of course, come to think of it, that kind of stuff is why I cut the cord off the tv 30 years ago when my kids were small......

Tony Katz is a Teabagger, that's the way they roll. They project their own hate to the other side, and that's the achille's heel the GOP has endorsed by their silence.

As much as I dislike this guy, I'm glad they aired this clip, it shows the belly of the snake.

OT, but Keith Olberman just called Our Gal Sairy out as a "fraud" for not commenting (at all) on a comedian comparing "liberals" to "special needs children" during the warmup act for her very own IowaFest. He did run a video of the guy making the snarky comment. Can't recall if the crowd cheered this. Check it out!

Excuse me. Please get your facts straight. How is it that someone raised by a teenage single mother was "handed EVERYTHING in life," when most stalwart GOP candidates and donors made their money the old-fashioned way--by inheritance and family connections (Kochs, Bushes, Romney, Huntsman, etc.).

You will only convince racists that Barack Obama "coasted through life based on skin color." Anyone who cannot acknowledge that his is the American dream fulfilled is too consumed by their own hatred and despair and will only listen to those who truly are seeking to destroy the middle class, leaving only the wealthy 1% and everyone else.

States are raising taxes on low-income residents to pay for corporate tax breaks.

I suspect what really freaked the Tea Party people out was Hoffa's stating the obvious: that the Tea Party and the Republicans have declared war on the working class in this country. The one thing these people don't want is for the working people...who far outnumber them...to realize this.
