Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Is there one day from your childhood that you will simply NEVER forget? You and this young man have something in common.
That's right, get them while they're young (smile)! I adore our President! I love the wasy he interacts with children. They can tell a good-hearted person when they encounter them. What a rare gift and so special!
There really are no words for how special this man is.
The sickest, saddest irony about the repub dubs and teapotty'ers vilifying our president and trying to make themselves superior because of some self appointed Godliness...is that our president is the very embodiment of what Jesus asked that we be. Honest, loving toward our friend AND our enemy, hard working.
So adorable, I'm all teared up. Thanks for this, you always manage to restore some sanity, just when I'm convinced we've all gone to Hell in a hand basket.
Oh my God, that is SO cute. Thanks Gryphen, I now have a HUGE smile on my face. I appreciate that.
Look at the people in the background too, all smiling and happy.
What a stark contrast to Granny Lulu's supporters, who usually look angry and mean in the background, yelling things like, don't tread on me, don't take away my guns, etc. Packing heat at public events (WTF?!)
Have to go back to the happy place again, because just thinking about them made me feel bad.
There's only so much trivial vomitous propaganda even the most ardent liberal can take before he/she reaches the "Obama is a failure as an executive" epiphany. I am waiting for bloggers to reach this.
How do YOU explain his sheer disregard for the real troubles facing the nation? He tackled 2nd rate issues BEFORE tackling jobs. What kind of leader does that during a time when people are losing jobs and having trouble finding decent employment?
I'm waiting for this blog to recover from being no better than c4p, liberal version.
hey anon @6:05...the President can only do so much without Congress. Unlike Dubya, he isn't signing multitudes of executive orders to bypass the process. the process is hard and messy, especially when he has a GOP who refuses to lift one finger to help anyone except corporations. There is a jobs bill in Congress...the GOP refuses to vote on it. So stop blaming Obama, and look to yourself. Tell the people you voted for that they promised jobs 18 months ago, and have spent that time trying to demonize this man.
Thanks for posting this ! So many great details in this photo series too...
- The look on the (security?) guy behind Pres. Obama in the first frame...I imagine he's thinking, "Geez. No one's really supposed to grab the president like that, but he's an ecstatic little kid." - The joy around them. I love that the people behind them 'in line' are just as happy as the little boy. - The guy in front of them, who presumably just met the president, is taking their pic too ! - Finally - that kid's expression in the last photo - awesome !
Gryph, do we know your most memorable childhood moment?
That is so cute. Nice to see kids who love their President. And President Obama sets a very good example for kids of this generation, by his determination and care and passion for the people. It goes beyond greeting people; it shows in his policy convictions. Despite all the negative news we hear daily, this brings us back to the pockets of positive reality that a democratic society does and can work.
All it needs is a good dose of love to make it grow.
anon 6:05 - 2nd rate issues like saving the auto industry and the 1000s of jobs connected to it? He's faced nothing but obstruction since the day he took office. That crazy democracy thing, where the role of the executive branch is is to enforce the laws enacted by the legislative branch. So just how many jobs bills have come out of Congress? Any jobs bills have been proposed by Democrats and the Repubican have as usual said NO.
And we're tired of repeating everything to you. If you don't get it, you don't get it and it's your loss to have the angry, negative viewpoint you look like you will carry around with you and try to foist on everyone you can.
Those of us who can see Obama for who is he and believe in what he can do with the right support have no interest in your "facts."
The biggest contrast I've noticed between the President and many other politicians when interacting with children is the focus. President Obama looks at the child, makes eye contact and truly focuses on THEM. Many other politicians (particularly Palin and Bachmann) are focused on the parent (after all, children don't vote!) or, more frequently, on the nearest camera.
Children instinctively know whether you are connecting with them on a personal level or just using them for a photo op. They can also tell whether you genuinely like them or are just pretending. I think that's why they respond to the President the way they do. He makes them feel important, protected and safe because he sincerely cares about them. And they know it.
President Obama is like a magnet, people are just drawn to him. I was skeptical about him becoming president but through the years he has proved that he takes his job serious. That infectious smile, genuinely kind hearted, truly loves kids and the kids sense that in him. He takes the time to reach out to them. That's refreshing. Know we have others doing what they can to reach out to people just so they (she) can line her pockets with their money and lunch money from the kids.
I sincerely appreciate his political acumen, his talent, the depth and breadth of his knowledge, and how he hit a triple at the end of April when he took out OBL and Donald Trump.
Are you lost? did you click the wrong link and somehow end up here? Or did you click some link someone told you go go comment on? Because one thing comes through loud and clear, You're woefully unaware of what this President had tried to do to meet people half way. Democracy doesn't work like that, Socialism is "Hell No", "My way or No Way", and believe it or not, Socialism is borne of Tea Party delusions of how Government works.
If a politician is running for office hoping for smaller government, then why should anyone vote for them? They're fighting to join what they rail against, and keeping their own interests before yours. Wake up.
I'm amazed President Obama has accomplished so very much, despite having to deal with the whiney sobbing, obstinate idiots in the House. And, yes, the chidren intrinsically are attracted to genuinely caring people. He even crouches down to look them in the eye, and speaks directly to them on their level. Rare and worthy of respect!

The one I'll never forget:
ReplyDeleteSitting in a 2nd. grade classroom in 1963 when the announcement came over the school loudspeaker that President Kennedy had been assassinated.
Aw. You know, anyone who elicits a response like that from a child is deep down a really good man. Kids know.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! Pure happiness on both their faces.
ReplyDeletePlus, he isn't trying to sign the kid and he is wearing his wedding band!
There really are no words for how special this man is.

Awwwwwww! What a wonderful man he is.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Wish more people felt like that.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love how children interact with President Obama.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, thank you for sharing these heart-warming pictures.
The President sure is good with kids and babies (unlike some other politicians I could mention).
ReplyDeleteSo adorable, I'm all teared up. Thanks for this, you always manage to restore some sanity, just when I'm convinced we've all gone to Hell in a hand basket.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very sweet series of pictures.
ReplyDeleteJoe MG gave a good update to Sarah's run and it's pretty clear the run was legit.
Hope everyone enjoys the last holiday of the summer.
It's obvious from pictures that the President genuinely loves children and children gravitate towards him.
ReplyDeleteHe is so genuine and kids know!
ReplyDelete(bet no kid slaps him away)
These images of the President & young ones never fail to bring tears to my eyes. How his detractors cannot see the goodness of this man is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet this President.

What an awesome set of pictures! I'm a little teary-eyed seeing them too. (And quite agree with Sally in MI that "kids know".)
ReplyDeleteThis warms my heart this morning...thanks for sharing!

ReplyDelete6:05, you're no liberal. Funny how you're unaware of how you reveal yourself.
ReplyDeleteHealth Care is a 2nd rate issue? NO liberal would talk that way.
Liberals understand how long it took for us to get that, and if we delayed it any longer, we wouldn't have gotten it.
He absolutely did the right thing, and put his neck on the line for it.
Run back to C4P now.
Thanks for posting this !

And I'll wait until you get a brain cell.
The photo looks hokey and her running time seems made up and you damn well know it.
Go back to dreaming about palin's camel toe, you jerk.

We are so fortunate to have President Obama.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely appreciate his political acumen, his talent, the depth and breadth of his knowledge, and how he hit a triple at the end of April when he took out OBL and Donald Trump.
Also, too, babies calm down in his arms.
.
Oh man, I love my President! (Notice he didn't sign the kids head like Scarah would have.)

Now that is funny! Way to put the concerned troll in his place.
To heck with how the kids respond to him, I want to hug him! And that would be a day that I would never forget!
ReplyDeleteSWEET! Too damn cute that kid is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great role model he is for these youngsters. I'm still so proud we elected him.
