Desperate to finally put an end to his campaign, Rick Santorum thinking of asking Sarah Palin for her endorsement. That ought to do it!

Courtesy of the Omaha World Herald:

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is trying to work up the nerve to ask Sarah Palin for an endorsement.

At a town hall meeting here Sunday afternoon, the former U.S. senator said he's encouraged by Palin's comments last week on Fox News, when Palin praised him for his "ideological consistency." She stopped short of an endorsement, however.

"I haven't had the courage to ask her for an endorsement, but I may do that soon," Santorum said.

I think this is a GREAT plan.

After all Santorum is now polling right below Michele "Crazy Eyes" Bachmann, and right above belly button lint. It is either this or release a sex tape. (You know on second thought, THAT probably would do more harm than good.)

And let's be honest Palin is perhaps the BEST known name in Republican politics today. Sure she is known for quitting her job, being a divisive bitch, and having a failed reality show, but still she IS known.

Besides this would not be the first time that Palin has turned the tide of an election with her endorsement.

Surely we all remember what it did for Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell, Carly Fiorina, and Alaska's own Joe Miller.  So go ahead Rick, gather up your cojones, wipe the "santorum" off your taint, and ask her!

Then when it does for your campaign what Palin does to everything she touches, you can go back home to your family and finally be the father that your dying daughter Bella deserves.

Seriously what kind of asshole puts his own political ambitions ahead of the needs of his desperately sick little girl?

Anybody that gets or wants an endorsement from Sarah Palin will never get my vote - ever!! A Sarah Palin endorsement says a lot about the candidate and will taint my opinion of them no matter when or how long it's been since the endorsement - or in what context. I truly would not consider any candidate endorsed by STUPID, ever.

The kind of asshole who preaches the one man one woman gospel and yet wants to be endorsed by a woman who was pregnant before her marriage, comes from a mother who was pregnant before marriage, and who has two children who were with child or responsible for a fetus, one of whom has YET to marry, but is known to be a good time while being totally abstinent. And the mother of a wild teen who has been kicked out of school yet again; a 10 year old with a potty mouth, and the pretend mother of a Downs boy who deserves far better.
That anyone on the GOP side still thinks Palin is anything but a disaster says a lot about them, huh? And none of it positive.

Well, it makes perfect sense, doesn't it? Scarah ignores all her children, especially her special needs' kid (unless she can use them for profit). And Santorum ignores his seriously ill child. These are the hypocrites of "Family Values", these are the pseudo-Christians with the "servant's hearts". Santorum and Scarah truly deserve each other. The rest of the country, not so much.

When I see Santorum or hear his whine, the words that come to mind are creepy, skin-crawling, nasty little turd face. It disgusts me that he is using his daughter as a political prop in many of his speeches. The ONLY place he should be is at his daughter's side, not out losing a presidential campaign, and lose he will since he just isn't a very likable guy, has zero charisma or appeal. He doesn't stand out in any way that makes him even remotely appear 'presidential' and the fact that he is pleading with the sick one from Wasilla, through the friggin' press, makes my stomach turn.

Santorum ONLY cares about a fetus.

Once there is a child, a human being with hopes and fears and strengths and weaknesses and free will, he is not involved emotionally or intellectually. A 3-year-old can reject him. Even a baby can scream and slap (like Trig slapped Sarah).

A fetus? In an isolation chamber? Whether in womb or bottle, that gathering of cells can't look at him and speak truth.

If he thinks that Sarah will endorse him, because he has a genetically-flawed child (campaign prop), then he is as bad a father as she is a mother. Oh, wait! We already knew that.

If he is leaving his wife to care for that child... alone, tired, & worried... then he is an unfit husband as well as an absentee father.

    A further thought....

Once he gathers enough courage to ask Sarah for her endorsement, he had better not be standing near her refrigerator. Or, given her aim, in the same room.

I saw this article somewhere else today, and the author noted that Santorum was speaking at a town hall that attracted eleven supporters. 11? In Iowa? The first primary/caucus state?

That's pitiful. I went to a niece's tupperware party last week, and there were 24 people there!

  9. Well, as much as I'm not a fan of Rick Santorum, my heart breaks for his little girl. Per the HuffPo article, most children with her condition don't reach their first birthday. 50% are stillborn. It's just so sad.

No matter. Sarah worked hard to hawk a Hollywood Xmas party invite just so she could tweet about it and hope to get coverage like at the People's Choice gala last May. Maybe even kept food off her clothes and had shoes that fit. How many media outlets noticed? NONE!! Haha. Her endorsement is irrelevant at best.

I'd never support anyone whose priorities are as skewed as his. A (failing) political career could NEVER be as important as a terminally ill child...or any child for that matter.

Either he is a heartless bastard for choosing to not be with his family or a coward for not having the guts to deal with his family situation and support his daughter and wife. Either way, he doesn't deserve a job that makes him responsible for any other people, no less an entire nation.

    Simply disgusting.

I DO know Sarah, so I can pass judgement. She is none of those things. She isn't a good mom, funny, uplifting, or cool. She's a nasty egomaniac who thinks only of herself, and has pretty much let her kids raise themselves. She'll stab a friend in the back if she thought it would help herself. Trig is with caretakers more than he is with her.
Santorum should be spending what little time his sweet little daughter has left. Does he think that just because she is disabled and going to pass that she doesn't deserve 100% of her daddies attention and love? What a pile of shit this man is. His wife should dump his sorry ass for deserting her during this stressful but very important time. Honestly, the most important thing that man could be doing right now is being with his family. Believe me, your daughter knows you do not care. God will judge you harshly, Mr Santorum.

A political candidate would have to be awfully desperate to ask Palin for an endorsement. And of course, Santorum would also have to pay Palin for her endorsement which I doubt he has enough money to satisfy her demands.

Your last question I though was pretty much self explanatory. Your question, "What kind of asshole would put his own political ambitions ahead of a little girl that is desperately sick,", is something Palin would do. After her water broke in Texas she decided to fly back to Alaska with a high risk child without even being seen by a doctor. While she was out campaigning she spent very little time at home, kept Piper out of school for long periods, and must have paid little attention to Willow or what she was up too. Of course, before then she wasn't much of a motherly figure either, and apparently allowed her kids to go without food in the house and skip school.

I think an endorsement from Palin would be like putting cement shoes on your candidacy and throwing it into deep water. Obviously another new definition for the word "desperate".

That's where most of us have gotten to know her rather than taking the word of her, her family or other assorted paid trolls who desperately want to defend her.

She and Santorum live in their own private la-la land worlds and that's fine, they just fail when trying to force their narrow views on the rest of us grown-ups. He will be able to broaden his world view by taking her endorsement as he will learn to forgive those who don't practice what he preaches.

Also, as far as Palin being pretty nice to the friends she has left, why are the people in Wassilla afraid to talk about her? There has been more than one source that have stated she is the type of friend that will use you and then turn around and stab you in the back. And if she is such a good mother, why did her son have to join the army after slashing the school bus tires, Bristol getting pregnant, Willow trashing the house next door when she left alone while Sarah and Todd vacationed in Hawaii, has a potty mouth like the rest of her clan, and why did she keep Piper out of school for so long when she was campaigning? ------

The New York Times' Jim Rutenberg has a great behind-the-scenes piece from Saturday's Fox News Forum for GOP candidates, which he was invited to attend by the network to "roam behind the scenes".

It seems that after last week's disastrous interview with Fox's Bret Baier Mitt Romney has gone back to running scared from the media. Almost literally.

Mitt Romney’s campaign stood out by going into defensive mode immediately, insisting that the reporter stay far away. The other candidates engaged to a varying degree in a little conversation as they left the stage — none more than Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker, who is now ahead of Mr. Romney in some polls.

    [...]

Spotting the reporter, Mr. Romney’s aides sprang into action, asking where he worked and what he was doing there, and then insisting that he not physically approach Mr. Romney before or after he was questioned on television by the attorneys general and Mr. Huckabee.

Romney's people pointed out to the NYT that he'd already spent the day with reporters in New Hampshire and done two Q&A's, which is fair. It's also worth noting that while Rutenberg got at least a few words out of Rick Perry who was moving "at a fast clip" he was unable to get anything else thanks to a bodyguard who "grabbed the reporter by the shoulder and pushed him back."

However, one gets the sense that Romney, who's avoidance of the press is becoming one of the main storylines about him, is somehow still functioning in a 1.0 world (which was still doable last time he ran in 2008) and is under the belief that he can control the media.

So far he's managed to escape the scrutiny that other candidates have faced -- the sort of scrutiny that results in those oh-so-valuable- viral vids -- mostly because one gets the sense the media is girding itself for the inevitable news-killing Romney campaign. But that won't last. And unless Romney wants entire news cycles devoted to him running scared of lone NYT reporters he best figure out a way to get a tad more approachable.

    12:14 PM
    -------------------------
Nope. You silly, stupid person. My image of Sarah is based on her own vicious mouth, on her own lying speech, on her own demonstrable stupidity, on her own proven ignorance, on her own visually proven slovenliness, on her own proven bad parenting, and on and on.

Sarah herself has proven with her own lying tongue, her own vindictive, unpatriotic behaviors, her horrendous parenting, her backstabbing, thin-skinned personality, to be an unfit mother, a dreadful wife, horrid "friend", and totally unfit for any elected or appointed office of any kind.

I have this evidence from Sarah herself, not from others. What you describe is a completely fictional person.

Sarah is a cool mom. Oh, Willow, no boys upstairs. I wish that you could see me shaking my finger at you. And, Bristol, Mom has taught you such enduring values, such as parading your private life on TV and living large in the tabloid pages. What a pal.

So SUE, already! Most of us here on this blog are informed voters, unlike idiots, like 5arah Palin who watch Fox News. Palin's endorsement is the kiss of death!

Maybe you need a reminder about how "informed" Palin is. Shall I post a link to Palin's infamous Katie Couric interview?

  63. Well, Gryphen, once again, you struck a nerve. Palin and/or her idiotic slack-jawed followers are all over this post.

Sadly for them, we know the TRUTH about Palin. From Palin herself.

Thank goodness we have a true patriot in President Obama slowly, steadily bringing America back from the brink, despite all the efforts of Palin's crooked cronies to prevent him from saving the country.

Thank God Palin never got anywhere near the White House. Her vicious stupidity combined with her hatred of everything that made America great would have destroyed this country (because there is no way that McCain would have survived this long).

    12:31 PM
    ----------------------
No, we don't expect President Obama's kids to grow up to be cokeheads or "far radical country destroyers."

Because a) there is no reason or evidence to believe that the Obama family's strong structure would lead to that (unlike Palin's family with its unwed teenage parents for generations, underage drinking and substance abuse, underage sex, juvenile delinquents and all the other indicators of future troubles and a deeply dysfunctional family).

And b) If you weren't a complete moron, you would know that the President is a centrist who never claimed to be a "leftist." You really should try to educate yourself at least a little bit. Your statement was embarassingly stupid. Since you are a Palin fan, I am sure that is impossible.

You did not draw a direct parallel at all. To do that, you would have to be comparing two similar situations.

But you keep right on posting your stupidity. Because people will keep right on refuting you (not refudiate, as your doltish queen said). And even more people will learn the truth about Palin.

Chris Matthews On GOP Field: How Did Party Of Lincoln, Reagan ‘Descend Into A Diabolic Clown Show?’

“How did the party of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt and General Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan descend into a diabolic clown qhow? When did P.T. Barnum grab hold of the Tea Party and New York money and mix it into this witch’s brew of a TV Debate headed by Donald Trump?

How did this clown show of Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich find itself with the ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ as its grand ringmaster? How did the King of the Birthers become the midwife of right-wing presidential politics? And what sin did someone commit to unleash this torrent from hell on a once-serious political party?

I don’t claim any deep sympathy, but it takes a deeply cold heart not to feel for those good-minded Republicans out there who have this grotesquery leap before their face. What happened to the moderates and the reasonable of the center-right? Did they go mute? Did they lose their tongues? Their right to speak out? Are they watching what I’m watching? Are they going to let this happen?

Are they going to chug along from here to Tampa, to the sweltering convention hall of next September, all the while anticipating the Hobbesian choice between a candidate who puts them to sleep and one who gives them nightmares? Is this what all the debates, all the speeches, all the wanderings-about has achieved – a duet of death, a karoake of the choke-hold?

‘Out, out, brief candle! Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’

I wonder how many 'single moms' this yahoo has talked to. What a stupid ass. The kind of seriously skewed thinking is outrageous.

Rick Santorum: Single Moms Are Avoiding Marriage In Order To Collect Welfare

On Fox News, Santorum told Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt that family is very important to him, as it is to America in general, but, in recent times, we’ve had a federal government that has “undermined the family in a lot of ways.” One example, he says, are regulations relating to welfare benefits:

I’m sure everybody, a lot of folks listening here tonight, are gonna know people who are… who father and mother are living together, but they’re not married, for the reason they’re not married is so the mother, can receive welfare benefits to help support that child, those children.

The federal government, then, he concludes, is essentially keeping families a part.

Two Peas in a Pod. Ambitious political parents who campaign against medical insurance reform that would benefit OTHER families with disabled children, in spite of the fact that their own GOVERNMENT health insurance bennies have completely covered their own children, without risk of being limited. They campaign against the same bennies being extended to "real Americuns" and/or falsely campaign against phantom Death Panels, all the while knowing that their own children will not only be not affected, but will actually benefit greatly by ObamaCare.

While he WAS a Senator, he billed the Penn Hills School District in PA more than $70,000 to have his kids "cyber schooled"(supposedly in Penn HIlls District, in PA) while they were living in Leesburg,VA! He claimed, in 2002 that "liberals in seminary" were what led to the Catholic priest sex abuse scandal. (Not that priests were into little boys --- NO, it was those darned LIBERALS).

Pennsylvania was more than happy to get rid of him- even Republicans who had never voted anything BUT Republican, held their noses and voted against him because he was so.....weird. When you are too weird for lifetime Republicans in PA, you are TOO WEIRD for any office.

My dad, sad to say, is life-long crazy train Republican in PA. I remember him telling me how it pained him to vote for a Democrat, but he felt that Santorum was a liar, opportunist, hypocrite, who had NOTHING but self-serving interest in PA. (He also felt the whole "religious thing" - my dad's words, not mine - was a huge sham, and that Santorum was using his supposed religious beliefs to try to win support).

Santorum understands how valuable Sarah's endorsement is, and how important she is to the upcoming election - he has thanked her for her recent, kind words. Considering how closely Santorum's positions and beliefs match Sarah's, I am surprised that some here are so critical of him. Sarah, NO,NO,NO,NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be blowback if any endorsement of anyone......... JMO!

"blowback"....from who? From what? I don't think Dirty has to worry about "blowback" unless it's coming from the CRIP's.
That's all I could take....just ate dinner and some of it was trying to come back up while I was reading their chicken scratches.

One more thing....NOBODY mentioned that "Frothy" has a special needs child that was dying....NOBODY!

  110. Okay...took an Alka Seltzer and went back to CRIP because they had an intriguing (well about as intriguing as insane people can be) post up titled...."From the Tucson Blood Libel to the Operation Fast and Furious Massacre"...

I was going to critique it here but as I read the scratches....I was unfortunately or fortunately attacked by a case of the BURPS and GIGGLES and was unable to finish!

I apologize because I'm sure my fellow IM commenters were looking forward to my musings (with the possible exception of a recent commenter here by the name of Ted Bagger...um...I mean Ted Powell...but I digress)...needless to say after I finished the entire screed I ended up with a bad case of the FARTS!

So in order not to inflict said smells on you all....I am heading to bed!

The Wasilla trolls on this thread really need to go look up Phil Munger and ask him how liberal , leftist, and socialist President Obama is. He, he, according the Phil's most recent rant Obama is Dubya redux, a war criminal, and raging Wall Street capitalist.

Woo boy, Phil even out fires the Firebaggers. He must be a hoot at cocktail parties....(snort),

Anonymous@12:20pm - I don't normally pay attention to endorsements of any kind in deciding who to vote for. However, an endorsement by Sarah Palin for a candidate
tells me everything I need to know about that candidate. If someone as ignorant, racist, sexist, unpatriotic, AND hateful as Sarah Palin endorses someone - again, I would never vote for that person.

STUPID endorses STUPID - and I want educated, intelligent, thoughtful, and wise
    leadership for my country.
I want that someone to know the Constitution and what it means - someone who will uphold the Bill of Rights for ALL citizens - not just for the chosen few white folks.

I want control over reproductive choices and access to family planning services for all women. I want freedom of religion to worship - or not. I am vehemently opposed to laws being enacted and enforced based on "Biblical law". I want strict enforcement of the separation of church and state.

The candidate I will vote for will work to preserve human rights - not take them away. Sarah Palin and any candidate she would endorse understands nothing about any of this or what being an American really is, and as I said before - STUPID can only endorse STUPID - it doesn't know how to do anything else.

Also, I want to vote for a candidate who, if he/she does have a family/children - it is clear that the family values rhetoric matches with the actual family/children involved - no whoring, no pimping, no hidden grandchildren or attempting to force children into marriage to minimize scandal, children in school, education is promoted as a priority, children are supervised, nurtured, and their well-being and their future isn't sacrificed for the "campaign" - or to meet the needs of immature parents.

I also don't want a candidate who deliberately strings along her faithful, dimwitted, and mostly low-middle income constituents with a tease about running for office, when the real purpose during this time is to grift more money to support various personal needs - real estate, plastic surgery, wigs, buying up copies of their own books, and the daughter's books - etc, etc, etc.

The only good thing an endorsement by Sarah Palin does is it saves me a tremendous amount of time screening out the unqualified riff-raff from the candidates who deserve my time and consideration. For that - thanks Sarah!

Please 6:20 - do some research and logical thinking about suitable candidates for office - and, if all you can manage to do is support morons, so be it, just DON'T bother me with STUPID! Send Sarah some more money,if that makes you happy - impoverish yourself over her.

Anonymous @ 12:20 A.M. Go sell your bullshit elsewhere. President Obama's administration has had its hands tied by a GOP that doesn't give a damn about this country. All the GOP cares about is power for its party and taking care of their wealthy friends. They were all for tax cuts until it came time for tax cuts that help the middle class. You can deny it all you want but things have been getting better under Obama despite your lying about it. They will be much better after the 2012 elections when we toss out the Tea Party reps who don't have a clue as to what they are doing and vote in a Progressive house.

Take a look at figure 1 at this website and then try and tell us it's all President Obama's fault. We're still suffering from Reagan's misguided policies 30 years later. It's no surprise that Bush's policies will effect us for at least two more decades.

Anonymous @ 12:14 P.M. Sarah is an uplifting friend? Is that why she turned against and stabbed in the back the people who helped her get started in politics? She accused Mayor Stein of being an unmarried Jew! Of course, she blamed it on her campaign staff but still accepted his marriage certificate when he came forth with it and talked about how Wasilla had their first Christian mayor. That's a friend? No thanks, Sarah! That's just a small example but there is many, many more. You only have to read her email to see how she humiliated or trashed members of her staff while speaking to other staff. They had to wonder what she was saying about them behind their backs and it was all there in her released emails for everyone to see.

Down to earth? Surely someone who requests a specific size Lear jet to travel on can no longer be called down to earth. A mother of a child with special needs who charges special needs groups $100k to speak at their fundraisers is not down to earth, not an example of a warm person and most definitely not a caring Mother. In fact, she has done NOTHING to raise money for the cause she says is near and dear to her heart except give them a whopping $1k check from SarahPAC. This would be, of course, the Down Syndrome Foundation. Why is it she still talks about "HER PREGNANCY" rather than speaking about Trig, sharing his daily challenges and her joy in how he conquers them? We hear nothing of his accomplishments but she certainly doesn't mind talking about herself and her alleged pregnancy. I just wish she would make up her mind as to where he was born and at what stage of her pregnancy. Was it Anchorage or Palmer, was it 7.5 mos or 8 mos? Sarah, no mother that I know of gets the place of birth of their child wrong when speaking about it unless she just can't remember the original "story" she told. When you tell the truth, Sarah, it's easy to remember.

Doting grandmother? She hasn't even acknowledged her granddaughter and let's not forget how she doesn't want to be called Grandmom as if she's too young to be a grandmother. Any woman who truly cares about her grandchildren more than their own selfish, vain & overinflated ego could care less about being called Grandmom. In fact, REAL, DOTING grandmothers can't wait to hear it for the first time.

I could give dozens of examples about Sarah's phony image but most of us here are familiar with her lies. Go peddle your nonsense elsewhere. C4P still believes in fairy tales.

Romney thinks Dan "Potatoe" Quayle's endorsement is worth something? OooooKay....

Same question: Rick "Frothy" Santorum thinks Palin's endorsement will help him? Um. Sure.

    These guys are desperate.

(Actually, I kind of understand Santorum's motivation a little more. Palin has at least been a newsmaker for the past two or three years.
Has anyone...ANYONE...heard anything relevant from Mr. Potatoe Head in the past 15 years?)

Hey, Mr. Fancy Pants Alaska Liberal blogger, you make me sick! How dare you mock one of America's BRAVEST conservatives: Rick "GOOGLE ME NOW!!" Santorum!! It's a well known fact this frothy mixture of strident conservatism and extreme fundamentalist christian ideology has more courage in his ENTIRE BODY than the average 4th grade school girl has in the tip of her little finger! Yet you choose to mercilessly ridicule the Don Knotts-like quaver in his voice! How dare you! HOW DARE YOU!!!

As the tireless (and tiresome) trolls, who squawk on your blog every day, will repeat endlessly: you are WAY too quick to criticize people YOU DONT EVEN KNOW! Are you aware, for example, that this intrepidly tremulous conservative icon - once honored as Pennsylvania's Least Charismatic Elected Official - is the oldest and most inspiring member of Dry Sheets, an online bedwetter's support group? No, you aren't because YOU mock first and THEN do your research!

Are you aware, that the Hermitage Foundation, a conservative think tank, publishes an annual survey called "If They Served" which estimates the potential valor likely demonstrated by chickenhawk conservatives who, in real life, avoid military or combat service and yet jingoistically promote unwarranted American military aggression across the globe? Well, Mister Blister, it so happens that in 2002, Mr. Santorum was FIFTH on the list, behind only Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Rush Limbaugh, and the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. But you didn't know that, did you....

Finally, you're so quick to mock Mr. Santorum for his fear of asking The Screechy Wretch(tm) for her endorsement. If you knew ANYTHING at all about that awful woman you would understand his reticence. Despite her heartwarming fictional reputation as America's Rapidly Aging Sweetheart she has terribly foul breath that could knock a fly off moose poop at 30 yards. And when angered she emits a blood curdling shriek that is suspected of causing birth defects in lab rats and severing the spinal cords of people with "weekend immune systems", whatever that is. No wonder he's afraid!!

Anyway, not every president has been a profile in courage. James Buchanan was deathly afraid of spiders, for example. And Alf Landon - who some historians will argue never actually served as president - would pass out at the sight of the numeral "7". And so lay off Santorum, buddy boy!! He's doing the very best he can with what little he's got. And don't forget to remember: that whimpering sack of jello could very possibly be the next president of the United States of America!! (ok, but, yeah, probably not...)

Anybody who wants Sarah Palin's endorsement must feel like shit for having to ask that numbskull for her endorsement. That's like hitting rock bottom of your self esteem. The only reason why they even ask that ignoramus is because she has a few retarded followers and I guess times are desparate and they need every vote they can get.

I don't pretend to understand everything but I do trust our President who has done more for our country in a short period of time in spite of the obstruction from the ignorant house tea party and gop set on stopping everything to improve our nation, in order to hurt the economy and therefore hurt the Administration.
